"They're normally much more agreeable to diplomacy; I don't know what's come over them."
Zahd then begins to walk towards his fellow (not charmed) Pathfinders and states "Gentlemen, please, there is no need for this kind of violence! We've done a great job sorting things out before, I don't see why we must fail now!"
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
I'm gonna keep us in rounds, but if you all want to talk that's fine too.
Note also, that Hoo is 5' up the trophy wall, but climbing further invites attacks of opportunity from both Gormandelle and Boomer (if he has anything like a melee weapon in his hand), and climbing does make you vulnerable to falling (not that there is damage to falling into 4' of water more the you're gonna be prone aspect).
Conditions the area is treated as a deep bog.

...this is ridiculous.
"She's addled your brainth with magic, you blathted foolth. You'll get over it evenshually."
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Cold Iron Piercing damage + Painful Stare: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
...I'm going to run out of CI bolts, first, though, at this rate.

Boomer Forgehammer
|
Boomer glances back at the fey, "So...s....sorry my Lady. These are my friends, too. I can't k..kill them." He turns and starts swinging his earth breaker in front of Hoo to try and distract her and help out the lady. "I will p...p...rotect you though."
Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 (+2 AC to Lady Gormandelle against attacks from Hoo)
Vozzik Astrana
|
Vozzik shows no sign of willingness to stop shooting at her, regardless of how he can't seem to hit her...his maiming seems to have rendered him entirely single-minded.
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Cold Iron Piercing damage + Painful Stare: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
Xavier will try again to swim to Stefan.
Swim: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
He swims over to him and grabs Stefan by the shoulder, both because he's casting a spell, and because he needs the support.
Casting protection from evil. Stefan gets another save with a +2 bonus.
If he needs to make a touch attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Zahd Mullman
|
"Lady Gormandelle, there is no need for violence here! Give it time and I shall have peacefully subdued them."
Zahd then proceeds to expound upon the virtues of peace while moving towards his (inattentive) crowd.
Hoo Hullo
|
"Friends Vozzik, Xavier, I think we need to think about this, some more. I have, no ideas."
Hoo draws her rapier and crams herself into a defensive position (+4 ac for one round, increasing ac to 20)
Stefan Mariano
|
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Stefan watches as Xavier approaches and touches him. He feels the spell but does nothing as it is not hostile.
Is it correct to roll a will save?
Zahd Mullman
|
"You have the right idea, Hoo; we should change our methods of interaction. We should cease this battle and solve our issues diplomatically!"
Stefan Mariano
|
Feeling as though some sort of haze disappears Stefan turn towards Gormandelle and growls. "I do not appreciate being toyed with my lady. I will only ask once: surrender now."
He attempts to climb the trophy case. Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (13) - 4 = 9
| Lady Gormandelle |
Stupid, slippery giant otter head thinks Steffan as he tries to find a handhold on the wall.
Perc (Vozzik): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Perc (Xavier): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Perc (Zahd): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Perc (Stefan): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Perc (Boomer): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
"TRAITOR! Well you can go too! And take that one over there as well he has nothing more to offer to my court!"
She points her crossbow across the room to the big gilded, display cage containing the stuffed remains of numerous birds many of which have floated off their moorings, and cover the inner surface of the water in their bright plumage.
Gormandelle tilts the bow downward fires at Vozzik.
gray crossbow v Vozzik (cover): 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 4 = 14 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 miss

Stefan Mariano
|
Unable to scale the trophy case Stefan growls in annoyance. Turning to Xavier he thanks the other warpriest by granting him a war blessing. Sensing she might enchant the stuffed birds Stefan decides to get some room.
[ooc]Xavier has War mind blessing for 1 minute: At the start of its turn each round, it can select one of the following bonuses: +10 feet to base land speed, +1 dodge bonus to AC, +1 insight bonus on attack rolls, or a +1 luck bonus on saving throws. Each bonus selected lasts for 1 round.
Zahd Mullman
|
It's difficult to tell if Zahd's obliviousness is a result of the mind-altering spell or his own, somehow not employment-ceasing, incompetence.
"Isn't it great that we can solve our problems with diplomacy instead of brutish fighting?" Zahd then rests his hand on Vozzik's shoulder for emphasis. "Isn't that what makes us Pathfinders?"
Vozzik Astrana
|
Vozzik doesn't even look at Zahd as he reloads his crossbow, but he does say "Zahd, I like you. I'd love to dithcuth the nitheties of diplomathy with you. And I think we can shedule thome time for that right after I thkewer thith pitiful excuthe for a fey, tho take your handth off me."
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I would like to buy a freakin' break from these dice rolls, please?! Also, it's really hard to type my dialogue this way, amusing as it has been; Vozzik may have to start getting better at talking around his injury...
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
C'mon folks! Just another 40 or so hp to get through... Or you could take the Lady up on her offer. ;)
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
Xavier puts his sling staff away and starts trying to climb up the wall.
Taking the +10 to move speed so I can climb faster
Climb: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5

| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Xavier puts his sling staff away and starts trying to climb up the wall.
*SPLASH!*
He ends up prone in the water, though he did avoid the stuffed porcupine on his way down.
Hoo Hullo
|
Hoo, still at a loss for ideas, defends herself (total defense, ac 20, you know the deal) and attempts to climb to a trophy closer to the lady.
"Get her off the wall!"
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
So what is the plan?
Boomer Forgehammer
|
As Boomer realizes that what is feeling as protection for this few creature is more guilt than anything, he moves up to the wall and attempts to climb up.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Boom makes no progress up a stuffed crocodile.
"TRAITOR!" Gormandelle shouts again. "I AM SURROUNDED BY TRAITORS!"
In an apparent rage she opens her mouth too far for her small head, revealing an impossible number and variety of teeth of all sorts and snaps wildly at Hoo.
grey bite v Hoo (AoO): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 miss
Then fires another round into the water near Vozzik.
gray crossbow v Vozzik (cover): 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 4 = 15 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 miss

Zahd Mullman

Zahd (after removing his hand from Vozzik's shoulder) continues to promote the greatness of non-violence and diplomacy to an annoyingly non-observant crowd.
Stefan Mariano
|
Stefan attempts to shake the trophy case in the hopes that Gormandelle loses her balance.
Str: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
If this is not allowed I'll redo my action.
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
Xavier draws his halfling sling staff, and it begins to glow.
Activating holy strike.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Stefan attempts to shake the trophy case in the hopes that Gormandelle loses her balance.
If this is not allowed I'll redo my action.
It's a wall not a case. Steffan could only reach the gorgon head that Gormandelle is on by climbing up a bit first (a move action that requires dice). If you want he could use this Str check to climb the wall trophies instead (it is a nearly impossible DC 10), and then try to tear the thing off the wall with a new roll.

Hoo boldly lunges towards Gormandelle absolutely prepared for this plan to completely fail.
I'm gonna make an acrobatics check and I have no clue what I should make for the "Knock the fish fey off of the head" check, so I'mma guess it counts as a bull rush and make a cmb check.
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Bull Rush: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Hoo boldly lunges towards Gormandelle absolutely prepared for this plan to completely fail.
I'm gonna make an acrobatics check and I have no clue what I should make for the "Knock the fish fey off of the head" check, so I'mma guess it counts as a bull rush and make a cmb check.
So the plan sounds like Hoo is basically body-blocking Gormandelle from her perch. Is that right? There really isn't enough room for Hoo to stand, or really even land other than in a climb on the gorgon's head, so shell be falling too.
Since it sounds like Hoo is physically "jumping" into the other woman's space there is the opportunity for Gormandelle to get an AoO in. But acrobatics can also be used to move through threatened spaces avoiding such by beating you foe's Combat Maneuver Defense (CMD) so that happens and Gormandelle can't snap at her in mid-air.
Shoving characters around is indeed a bull rush. You do need to make an attack using Hoo's Combat Maneuver Bonus (CMB) v Gormandelle's CMD if you hit you pull off the maneuver whatever it was in this case bull rush. Since Hoo is sailing through the air we'll call it a charge and give her a +2.
Unfortunately, looking at Hoo's stats that gives her a total of 4 which does not beat Gormandelle's CMD and Hoo falls back into the water. No damage because it's 4-5 feet of water, but Hoo is prone.
Stefan Mariano

I will use the previous roll to climb. My climb is -4 so I still make it.
Finally climbing high enough to reach the gargoyle head Stefan attempts to tear it off the wall.
Str: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Boomer Forgehammer

Boomer again attempts to climb up, to the fey's level and, in an idea sparked by Hoo's own attempt, he tries to pull the witch off her perch.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Drag?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Vozzik Astrana

Vozzik attempts to reimpose his Intimidating Glance, and then fires once again.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Hand Crossbow into Melee: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 4 = 4
*sigh* 5 bolts left.

Finally climbing high enough to reach the gargoyle head Stefan attempts to tear it off the wall.
Not quite enough.
Boomer again attempts to climb up, to the fey's level and, in an idea sparked by Hoo's own attempt, he tries to pull the witch off her perch.
*CHOMP!*
gray bite v Boomer (AoO, v climbing): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 Miss
Vozzik attempts to reimpose his Intimidating Glance, and then fires once again.
The fishy little lady looks concerned again. Meanwhile, Vozzik's bolt provides a place for Boomer to step as he clambers over the front half of a giant sea horse.
Boomer perseveres and drags the small monstrous woman into the water. Being aquatic she swims like a barracuda straight for Vozzik's neathers. Being that she also probably has barracuda teeth this could be bad.
gray bite v Vozzik: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 2 = 15 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 miss
Xavier has an AoO though staves aren't great underwater.

Vozzik Astrana
|
"GAH!" Vozzik exclaims as he narrowly dodges the strange fey creature's agressive chomp, and then Withdraws behind his newly reinforced allies.
Not clear from the text...is she shaken?

Not clear from the text...is she shaken?
Yep.
Boomer Forgehammer
|
Does Boomer fall into the water too, given that drag moves him backwards as well?
Hoo Hullo
|
Hoo stands up and wades towards the Lady, double moving to go 15 feet through the deep water.
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
I'm not sure exactly what the penalty is for being underwater.
Halfling Sling Staff (Melee): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 - underwater penalty, Staff Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 + Holy Strike Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Xavier gets up, steps forward, and swings his glowing staff at the fish lady.
Staff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 - underwater penalty, Staff Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 + Holy Strike Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Zahd Mullman

Guess what?

Stefan attempts to climb the wall trophies to get a better vantage point to destroy the gargoyle head the fairy is sitting on.

If either of Xavier's swings connect, add 2 precision damage please.
Stefan...maybe re-read the last 7 or 8 comments?
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
He just really hates Gorgon heads.... And Stefan fell of the wall. *SPLASH!*
Does Boomer fall into the water too, given that drag moves him backwards as well?
RAW yes. But I could certainly see someone yanking a smaller person around as well. I leave it to you as to whether or not you want Boomer to be up to his armpits in the water with the piranha woman.
Xavier slowly moves his oar through the water around the darting fish woman. Those attacks both miss.
Boomer Forgehammer
|
Boomer somehow maintains his feet on the narrowest of ledges provided by the embedded crossbow bolt. Seeing no reason to stay where he is, he attempts to launch himself as far as he can into the drink to avoid the need to swim. "L...l...look out below!" Instead, he just tumbles into the water as his foot slips on the small foothold. He then shakes his head off and continues on.
Jump 5' (DC10): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
RAW aren't clear how a failure of less than 4 is handled if a character is jumping into the wild blue yonder. If you deem he falls prone, he uses his standard action to stand. If he lands on his feet, he moves forward at 1/4 his speed (5')
