Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig lunges at the fleeing stirge:

Opportunity Attack: (1d20+10=20, 1d8+5=10)

"And where do you think you're going?"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig lashes out at the nearest Stirge (v AC):

Radient Smite v Stirge: (1d20+10=18, 2d8+6=13)

"Begone, foul fiend!"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Right ...

Ddraig spews forth draconic indignance:

Dragon Breath v The Three Sturges: (1d20+8=19, 1d6+2=6, 1d20+8=15, 1d6+2=3, 1d20+8=25, 1d6+2=5) (In order, from top right down to bottom right ... Curly, Larry & Moe!)

Do you want to take the first, second or third damage roll?

He then swings at the Sturge holding him (Larry):

Valiant Strike on Purple Sturge (Larry): (1d20+13=20, 1d8+5=12)

Then, he tries to save against being grabbed:

Save v Grabbed: (1d20=13)

"Why I oughtta ..."

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Centre right for Ddraig, please ...

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Initiative Roll: (1d20+3=15)

Ddraig is vaguely awake ...

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Scary Stealth Check!: (1d20-1=9)

Even stranger that a Dragonborn in full plate armour is as stealthy as Ghadmyr ...

I'm still guessing that we're boned!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

And so it falls to Ddriag to underperform ...

Athletics check: (1d20+2=7)

Arse!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Well, Ddraig's game to give it a whirl! How heavy are we talking?

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig lends his rather large bulk to the effort.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

OK, here goes nothing ...

Ddraig hacks again at the Bulette:

Enfeebling Strike on Bulette, using Divine Strength: (1d20+9=20, 1d8+4+4=13)

Sighs ...

Again ...

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Right!

Ddraig moves (to P27) then charges the Bulette:

Charge at Bulette: (1d20+11=30, 1d8+5=8)

"You shall not elude us!"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Sighs ...

Ddraig, getting sick of seeing his sword bounce off the Bulette, retains his mark and swings again:

Enfeebling Strike (again!) v Bulette: (1d20+9=26, 1d8+4=5)

Dear deity, that might actually hit!

Assuming that that hit, the Bulette takes a measly 5 damage, but takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.

"You will die, abomination, by my hand or that of my comrades!"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Sorry for the delay!

The Boar turns and moves in for the gore:

Gore attack on Bulette v AC: (1d20+9=14, 2d10+3=12)

Meanwhile, Ddraig maintains his mark on the Bulette, and has another swipe at it:

Enfeebling Strike on Bulette: (1d20+9=15, 1d8+4=11)

Oh, never mind! Invisible Castle, be not my friend!

He then spends a healing surge and lays his hands on Ghadmyr (who can regain hp as if he'd spent a surge)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig skirts round the edge of the room (to Q29), Divinely Challenges his target and attacks the Bulette with Enfeebling Strike:

Enfeebling Strike v AC: (1d20+9=22, 1d8+4=7)

If that hits then, as I've marked it, it takes a -2 penalty to its attack rolls until the end of my next turn.

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
I'm going to be away now until Monday morning, so if my turn comes up again, please feel free to play me in!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

I presume that Macmoor couldn't use the healing surge provided by my Paladin's Judgment?

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig takes his ongoing damage, then hacks at the Bulette with Paladin's Judgment:

1d20+10 v AC; on a hit, 3d8+5 damage, and one ally within 5 squares can spend a healing surge; on a miss, one ally within 5 squares can spend a healing surge.

Rolls: (17)+10 = 27 v AC; (3)+(4)+(6)+5 = 18 damage.

In addition, Ddraig uses the daily power of his Deathstalker Longsword, to deal an additional 5 ongoing necrotic damage (save ends; saving throws against this effect are at a -2 penalty.

"We will remove your foulness from the face of the Earth."

Ddraig then shifts back (to P27).

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

First, an attack by the Boar:

The Boar shifts (R25 to S26 et al), and gores the Bulette:

Gore attack on Bulette v AC: (1d20+9=24, 2d10+3=14)

Ddraig then moves across to Q29 and attacks the Bulette:

Radiant Smite on Bulette v AC: (1d20+10=14, 2d8+6=18)

And then, because he can (and he's pissed off because his attack is likely to have failed!), he breathes over the Bulette:

Dragon Breath on Bulette V Reflex: (1d20+8=28, 1d6+2=7)

Edit: as that's a crit (great timing, IC!), the damage is a majestic 8 instead of 7!!!!!

He then spends an action point and hits it again!

Righteous Smite on Bulette v AC: (1d20+9=27, 2d8+4=12)

"You will die, abomination!"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

All

Spoiler:
I'm slightly confused by all the positive vibes I seem to be getting about the Boar, but I presume that it's still the enemy! With that in mind, I've posted an action.

Ddraig moves forwards (N27;O27;P27;P28), then charges the boar (Q27;Q26):

Basic Melee Attack on Boar v AC: (1d20+10=12, 1d8+5=11)

Well, that was a success, wasn't it!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Initiative: (1d20+3=21)

Bloody hell! Ddraig's awake!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

As does Ddraig (Yes, he's still around!)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
OK, Guv'nor - here's the plan! I'm going to sheath my sword, pull out a javelin, and use it as a melee weapon. 6ft8 dragonborn plus 3ft arm plus javelin > person 10ft up tree ...

Javelin poking up into the trees (against No 3) v AC: (1d20+8=23, 1d6+4=10)

Pokey, pokey ...

If you're OK with this move, then I'll post it outside the spoiler.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

As a minor action, Ddraig uses his Divine Mettle power, to allow Healaugh to make a saving throw against being blinded, with a +3 bonus.

Then Ddraig strides forwards (R17; Q17; P17; O17; N16) and attacks number 3:

Valiant Strike v AC: Valiant Strike against No 3: (1d20+10=20, 1d8+5=9)

He then spews acid over No 3 and W:

Dragon Breath v Reflex: Dragon Breath - Roll 1 v No3; Roll 2 v W: (1d20+8=12, 1d20+8=14)

If either of those hits: Dragon Breath damage: (1d6+2=8)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

We apologise for the delay in dealing with your query. Please continue to hold, as your death is very important to us ...

Ddraig's Initiative: (1d20+2=20)

Apparently Ddraig, unlike me, is awake!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Onwards! I'm happy to lead the charge, if everyone else wants me to.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig, displaying uncommon diplomacy (for him) sheathes his sword, bows, and begins to withdraw over the bridge.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

"I know that ballad, friend Healaugh. As I recall the story, it goes not well for the defenders."

Given that we are no longer worrying about being stealthy, Ddraig is happy to take point, sword drawn and ready to defend himself.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

There isn't anyone speaking in a faux French accent, suggesting that my mother was a small furry mammal and my father smelled of a tree-borne fruit, is there?

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Apologies, all!

Ddraig swipes at W4 using Radiant Smite:

1d20+10 v AC; 2d8+6 radiant damage

Rolls: (19) + 10 = 29 v AC; (4) + (6) + 6 = 16 radiant damage

Ddraig then Divinely Challenges W4.

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
I'm always forgetting things! As Ddraig took damage from a melee attack, his Reinforcing Plate Armour gives him a +1 bonus to all defences until the start of my next turn. Whilst it's not relevant now, I must try to remember it in the future!!!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig shifts to O11 and uses Righteous Smite against W5:

1d20+9 v AC; 2d8+4 damage, and me and every ally within 5 squares (that's everyone) gain 6 temp hp.

Righteous Smite v W5 (1d20+9=21, 2d8+4=16)

Ddraig then unleashes his dragon breath against W2 and W3:

1d20+8; 1d6+1 acid damage.

Dragon Breath v W2 and W3 respectively: (1d20+8=10, 1d6+1=4, 1d20+8=10, 1d6+1=2)

Arse!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Merry Christmas, all! Hope you have a good one :-)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

"There will be no killing of prisoners. Braesal frowns upon such behaviour, and I cannot condone or allow it. I agree with friend Healaugh; a troll who is well-disposed to us may be helpful, if for no other reason than to warn other trolls not to interfere with our quest."

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4
Healaugh wrote:
Just by the way, what are we planning to do with this troll if we do manage to stop it?

Errr ... tie it up, ask it why it attacked us, then leave it somewhere safe?

Unfortunately, as you may know, with me around we can't just slit it's throat!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

"Surrender now, and mercy will follow. Fail to surrender, and we will pursue you remorselessly, and Justice will be our companion and our aid" said Ddraig (whilst moving towards the troll).

Intimidate Check: 1d20+12+2 = 13+12+2 = 27

I'm in, whatever it is!!! I've replied under Elor's name :-)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4
Fabes DM wrote:
The troll continues to run, until he's off the map. Do you wish to pursue?

Sure ... if there's a passing bus!

Ddraig (reaslising that the troll is clearly wearing +3 brown trousers of fleeing) concedes that he will be unable to effectively pursue the troll, and decides to secure the area.

Ready Valiant Strike in case anything nasty or unwanted appears nearby.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4
Fabes DM wrote:
Taking the javelin out and sheathing the sword is 2 minor actions, Ddraig. Let me know what you want to do. Ghadmyr - sure thing, go for it.

Please, Sir - I'm dropping the sword, not sheathing it! I'll pick it up in a minute, as there's no way that I can get to the troll - I'll let the ranged bods finish him off! However, it occurs to me that divinely challenging it would also be a minor action, so forget the challenge.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig (being somewhat out of options for a fleeing troll who's well beyond his running range!) climbs out of the river (at J30), takes a few steps forward to J33 and, dropping his sword, divinely challenges the troll, then hurls a javelin at it.

Javelin attack: 1d20+8 v AC; 1d6+4 damage

Rolls: 13+8 = 21 v AC; 6+4 = 10 damage

"Was it something we said?"

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Right!

Ddraig, working with the current, moves to K29 and hacks at the northern-most Troll:

Radiant Smite: 1d20+10; 2d8+6

Rolls: 12+10=22 v AC; 5+4+6=15 damage

Ddraig then sprays acid over the two trolls:

Dragon Breath: 1d20+8; 1d6+2

Rolls: Troll A: 17+8=25 v Reflex; 3+2=5 damage

Rolls: Troll B: 8+8=16 v Reflex; 4+2=6 damage

"You will regret your foolishness, young trolls, but only briefly."

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

VERY pissed off that, for the second time, I've posted on Paizo early in the morning, only for the post to subsequently disappear. Not happy!

Fabes DM wrote:
Ddraig (in current - please see previous posts)

Ddraig tries to swim:

Swim check: DC15 - Roll = 13

Arse!
Again!

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
I don't know if they swim try was a standard or a move action; if it was a standard, then I'll use my move to try to move 'east' by two squares (assuming that water is difficult terrain; if it was a move, then I'll double-move to try and do the same thing.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Save against getting wet: (1d20=9)

Splash!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Leap!!!

Leaping effort: (Athletics / Acrobatics) (1d20+2=12, 1d20-1=14)

Hopefully that gets me to P24 without landing on my arse and denting my armour!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
I'm BACK, baby!!! Fully updated (albeit with some strange changes) and ready to rock and roll!

Ddraig moves (to R22) and readies himself to explore!

Fabes DM

Spoiler:
Can I step onto R23, then R24, or is there insufficient room? If so, is P24 my only option to enter the fray?

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig moves forward (to O11) and prepares himself for the future!

Fabes DM

Spoiler:

It's show week for me, so I may not be around much - feel free to play Ddraig for me. I'll try to update the stats tonight, so they're all up to date.

Thanks :-)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Initiative Roll: 1d20+2 = 16+2 = 18

Apparently, Ddraig is actually awake!!!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig, being conscious of his inate ability to be stealthy, decides to gently draw his sword ... and damn well stand still! (But is ready to charge forward if need be!)

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Well, whilst I've always liked wildlife, perhaps on this occasion avoiding the cuddly bears might be a good idea!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Ddraig, seeing Ghadmyr's plight, (and feeling for him desperately!) pulls on the rope to help Ghadmyr out of the crater:

Strength Check: 1d20+6 = 20+6 = 26

Possibly a waste of a crit, but never mind - hopefully Ghadmyr's out!

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

OK - once more with feeling ...

Athletics: 1d20+2 = 18+2 = 20

Right - we avoid further craters!

Ddraig, having finally climbed out, throws a rope down to Ghadmyr, and ties the other end firmly round a tree-trunk.

Male Dragonborn Paladin, Level 4

Frankly, with Ddraig's record of athletics checks, I may just wait for a rope!

Nevertheless, I'll give it a whirl:

Two athletics checks: (1d20+2=21, 1d20+2=11)

Someone tell me what that means ...

Am I halfway up the slope?
