Does Wizards of the Coast not go to Gencon?

Seems like they haven’t for at least the last five years, according to the top couple google results for “WotC Gen Con.”

I'm really looking forward to it. Really hoping that the Dark Archives will be sanctioned in time as I have a Thaumaturge prepared to play the Special.

At least with regards to Magic, Wizards runs events via the DCI who run tournaments through third-party vendors. I think PastTimes Events runs the big magic tournaments, and they have a significant portion of the gaming hall (next to the vendor hall). There are dozens of vendors at the show selling everything from singles and recent releases to PSA graded Arabian Nights booster packs.

Pretty sure they left around the 2015-16 time frame. Baldman Game's runs their AL content For Gen Con, Past Time Events runs their Magic stuff. Other than their in-house conventions, I think they only show for like the Paxes and Gary Con anymore.

Signing up for the Special online. So why is there an up-charge for the online special? ($8 vs $4 for a ticket). I know that the when I've played the special in-person, the higher price appears to offset the promotional miniature that everyone gets. Are there other bonuses for playing the special online this year?

PF(2ed) Special #3-98: Expedition Into Pallid Peril

Levels 1-6. The Pathfinder Society sends its agents in a race to uncover the hidden entrance to a long-lost dwarven city.

Having made several recent forays into a set of unearthed ruins in the volcanic region of Droskar’s Crag, the Pathfinder Society has uncovered what could be an access point to the lost dwarven city of Raseri Kanton. Pathfinder agents from across Golarion have come to support the Society’s latest large-scale endeavor. However, the Aspis Consortium have also begun exploring the ruins, so it’s a race to see who can reach Raseri Kanton first!

There is also a Starfinder special.

It seems like there's no in-person seminars this year, which makes me sad. I'm also not seeing any indications of convention subscription pickup.

Aaron confirmed in another thread that they were not doing subscription pick ups this year.

Correct. There are no in-person seminars nor is there subscription pickup. I am working on the Gen Con Online Seminars now.

No biggie, not even mail order subscriptions went out on time.

I took time off to do panel writeups earlier this month! Gimme that streaming schedule! Lemme at em! *scrappy do fightin pose*

I'm doing them live on google docs, putting the link up *before* the panel.

Yep, can't wait for the schedule as well as I took that week and weekend off. Can't wait for the new juicy details on books and AP's and other new up and coming stuff.

It is also the week I kick off my Drift Crashers AP (as the GM) and Blood Lords (I'll be a player but also guiding/mentoring our VERY new GM as she has only GMed 2 sessions of 5th Ed and o time in anything PF II related.

Going to be a very busy and fun week of vacation for me :)

Gen Con Online panels are scheduled noon to 4 PM Pacific, Thursday through Saturday, similar to last year. I am working on them all week and hope to have the landing page and blog go live on Friday/Monday. I'm Paizo's only marketing FTE at the moment and I am doing my best. After Gen Con I get to grow the team. Thanks for your enthusiasm.

I'll look into sharing the panel slides too. :)

Thanks; good to know I can sleep until almost noon. I am taking that weekend off, too; despite not even attending in person, just so I can watch the seminars live. It has become my ritual every GenCon and PaizoCon these last couple of years since I can never seem to go to these things in person. My last Con was PaizoCon 2017, which was also my only in-person PaizoCon. Thankfully, it was the one where Starfinder premiered with demo games just before release that year.
