This month the Pathfinder Society is sending PCs to two regions little explored by the campaign. The first is Tamran, an oft-assaulted city that serves as the capitol of Nirmathas in its ongoing conflict with Molthune. We've known that a Pathfinder lodge existed in Tamran for about a decade; in fact, that lodge's foundation is the reason that Molthune became so hostile to the Society (clearly the Decemvirate were picking sides). What was never clear was who operated it. When you play Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-07: Trouble in Tamran, you'll get a more formal introduction to Venture-Captain Oraiah Tolal. She's a fascinating character in part because she combines so many elements rarely seen in the canon roster of venture-captains: she's a divine spellcaster, her patron is one of the "minor deities," and she's a halfling. Of course, there's much more to her than aligning with a few in-world demographics, and I look forward to her giving more missions in the future.

In Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-06: To Judge a Soul: The Legacy Lost, we traveling even further afield into territory never touched by a published adventure: north-central Tian Xia, beginning in Amanandar. The adventure also spends substantial time in Jinin (also never before seen) and Wanshou (only visited once last season). At the center of it all is Venture-Captain Bakten, an accomplished samsaran whose history the players can explore in depth rarely seen in any adventure. For now, let's settle for a quick visual before playing the first of this two-part series.

Finally, there's one more leader who deserves introduction: the Pathfinder Society's global organized play coordinator. We're waiting until my new colleague starts work tomorrow to pull back the Decemvirate mask, so check back then for the official announcement!

It's clear who the new coordinator will be.

Every Pokemon veteran knows that Misty comes after Brock.

Hmm so it is tomorrow now!!!

Oh wait.. I am the central time zone. Not even 8:00am yet on west coast...

Darn these time zones!!

Yeah, likely a few more hours. Everyone knows the new person has to bring coffee and donuts, and no announcements can occur before coffee.

I think there is a ritual flogging as well. To toughen them up for dealing with us.

So, Oraiah Tolal looks like Dame Judi Dench.

And just when I was thinking of rebuilding my GM credit baby from Amanandar, because he's kinda boring, and I never really feel like playing him.

I've also got one from Jinin, though I'm working on that back story and was considering changing the geographic origin. If this were a level 1-5, I'd consider using it as that PC's first adventure, and tie it in to the character's reason for joining the Society.

Pssh, we probably won't get another doppleganger venture captain.

You mean, one that we know is a doppleganger, right? I assume they'll all shape-shifters of one form or another.

I thought we were required to have a non doppleganger one for diversities sake at this point.

Grand Lodge 4/5 **** Venture-Captain, California—Sacramento

No, they can fulfill that quota by having a half-doppelganger.

Paizo sure knows how to kill with the suspense.

Mad house of suspense, or mad house of adulation and congrats being heaped on the latest victim?

I am still saying that statitically one of them has to be two halflings in a long coat.

Let's be honest here. Every Venture-Captain is actually the same Cleric of Sivanah- -or its programmed images.

Ever notice how they show up, read an uninterruptible pre-recorded message, are unaffected by spells, and can only answer a selection of keyword-organized questions?

Spoiler:
Congrats on five years, Tonya!

green mint chocolate chip ice cream is still an abomination to Asmodeus and peeps

spoiler three:

If we're celebrating Tonya's fifth anniversary, it's not thread necromancy but true resurrection!

Congratulations on 5 years, Venture Momma!
