I got a lot of "bad domain" error messages.

DM Carbide |

Wait for other tables.

DM Carbide |

Very good. cmlobue, how close is your group to finishing Into the Void?

cmlobue |

Bear was below half HP and vampire was going down from the next hit. I fast forwarded because I hadn't checked in between this being posted and the message to start encounter W.

DM Carbide |

That's fine. I should've made it clear that you could wrap up the void fight, since in an f2f game you'd have a few minutes to transition after the announcement.

One Nightshade success from table 1-2
Who freaking put something that do 2d8+10 on tier 1-2? Did they be like "Oh Gallowspire MTS was fun so let's do that again in 8-99 ver.D"? There's real TPK potential if we don't have a bomb alchemist in the team.
Reminds me of the Challenge Rating joke of Mr. "Reroll your character" a.k.a CR1 lv1 orc barbarian with butchering axe, +8 to hit for 3d6+12 damage (22 STR base + 4 Rage, Power Attack)

DM Carbide |

I hadn't realized that, and it's pretty grim--especially since this comes when the party has likely used up a lot of daily resources.
How's everyone else doing?

DM Carbide |

Yes, it will.
It's the Giant Phantom Armor using Power Attack.

cmlobue |

Before Eshimka's second turn, he got hit by two criticals from an enlarged keen bunch-of-other-things falcata. The house has its Eshimka success.

DM Carbide |

It did, thank you.
I'm in a long work meeting this morning, and will advance things once I get back to my office.

DM Carbide |

I didn't drop the Eshimka Defeated post in the T10-11 table yet--they can rest on their laurels for a bit while miteke's table finishes their current fight, and then I'll merge it with the T10-11 final House post. That will be enough successes to end the scenario; since the initial estimated finish was April 11 and we started two days late, nice job catching up!

GM_Colin |

My table failed to stop Eshinka gathering power during round 2 (but killed the enemy, thus having round 3 and 4 as recovery time) so they're supposed to get blasted by round 3. I was too busy with work this morning to post an update for it.
Now I have to go through all other tables to check how Nightshade encounter was defeated so that I can have a narrative of Pathfinders stop Eshimka just in time to prevent the AOE.....or you guys could just told me what happened :)
My phantom armor got shot by a pistol, took a alchemist bomb, and then stabbed by a rapier before going down.

miteke |

My table defeated Eshimka's Army. Should I not move on to The Nightshade? It looks like I report a success regardless so what is the point of doing the second battle?
In my table they just bum rushed the Festrog and eliminated it while one of the players, Cayden, held off the Giant Phantom Armor, which flailed about harmlessly (the entire battle) splitting rocks and such. Then, two of them moved in on the Giant Phantom Armor for the kill and scored hits on the thing doing 24 damage and putting it at 37/37 damage, just enough to destroy it.
As for Eshinka's gathering power, the round 2 attack was a boulder that set the cleric, Wilbur, on his heels after also seeing the Festrog take a hunk out of his hide. The 4th round attack was a feeble 4 point negative energy pulse that hardly affected the battle.

DM Carbide |

For my table the nightshade took a bit of damage from a positive pulse and a bit more from a spiritual weapon and then was put to sleep by the flying shamans slumber hex.
Stupid question, but would an unmodified slumber hex affect an undead creature?

Don't move on; 5 total Eshimka successes (1 1/3 x number of tables = 5.33, rounds down to 5) is enough to finish, and the T10-11 table success counts as 2. I'll get the closing post up tonight.

5-6‘s Eshimka/Nightshade enemy is nessian warhound, outsider instead of undead.

Sooooo I also shouldn't start the Eshimka army encounter?

No.
(And thanks for the clarification; I was looking at the wrong tier.)

DM Carbide |

Now that this is in the books, are any of you interested in GMing a PFS1E special for the next GameDay?

DM Carbide |

I'll do what I can to clearly communicate posting expectations for the special. Apparently the 2E special didn't have that issue, although they had a lot more tables--so a couple of slow tables or a few slow players can be carried along by everyone else. When you only have 4 tables, though, there's no margin for delays.

![]() |

The 2E special also had lots of Discord table. They tend to move faster and post more often. (the speed for specials is actually set based on how fast forum tables went years ago, which was a little faster than now, so I sometimes wonder if the balance is off on Discord tables).
I might be interested in GMing, and definitely am willing to help on the organizer side. (also, DM Carbide, I have a few ideas from experience that I should share with you about the House GM side of things)

DM Carbide |

That would be appreciated, thanks.

DM Carbide |

Here's the list from six months ago:
Here's the list of specials, with the last time they were run on the boards:
Season 2 Year of the Shadow Lodge (GameDay XI, fall 2023)
3-99 Blood under Absalom (GameDay X, 2021)
4-99 Race for the Runecarved Key (GameDay XI, 2022)
5-S Siege of the Diamond City (RetroCon, early 2019)
6-00 Legacy of the Stonelords (RetroCon, early 2019)
6-97 Siege of Serpents (Outpost VII, spring 2024)
7-00 The Sky Key Solution (GameDay IX, 2020)
8-00 The Cosmic Captive (GameDay XII, 2024)
9-00 Assault on Absalom (GameDay VII, 2018)
10-00 The Hao Jin Cataclysm (GameDay VIII, mid 2019)
10-98 Siege of Gallowspire (Outpost III, early 2020)It'll have been seven years since Assault on Absalom, but there's a few in the five- or six-year range. What do people think, and of the ones that haven't been run in a while which are more straightforward?
It'll have been seven years since Assault on Absalom was last run, but there are a few others in the six-year range. What do you all think?

In addition to checking the minimum table counts, I would encourage the specials that were run during RetroCon, because people were not able to play all of those and so had to pick which one. That would indicate there are people who were not able to play those specials who might have wanted to.
Let me look up the list of minimum table counts, and I'll either link it here or provide the relevant info, depending on if it's a public resource or not.

![]() |

Here is my suggested list to consider. I've removed the ones that were run recently, and one or two for other reasons.
5-S Siege of the Diamond City (RetroCon, early 2019)
5 tables, goes up to level 15
6-00 Legacy of the Stonelords (RetroCon, early 2019)
5 tables
7-00 The Sky Key Solution (GameDay IX, 2020)
5 tables
9-00 Assault on Absalom (GameDay VII, 2018)
5 tables; has some really neat boons, including unlocking a rare archetype and skipping level 1
10-00 The Hao Jin Cataclysm (GameDay VIII, mid 2019)
3 tables
Personally, I would like Hao Jin Cataclysm. I entirely missed out on that one due to a very stressful real life situation, and would like to get a chance to make that right.

GM_Colin |

I just ran Siege of the Diamond City for EverCon last month so obviously I won't vote for it. It was quite fun, though, and it is very interactive between the tables.
The problem with 6-00 and 7-00 that, they're heavily related to the Sky Keys and should be run in-order to properly represent the epic Sky Key story arc. Back then people had an entire season to familiarize and collect Sky Key pieces before getting to the Sky Key Solution, so that they're much more involved in the story.
Although I won't deny that the archtype unlocked in 9-00 is cool, I have 11 characters with neat concept and builds waiting me to play and level them. In other word, I won't be able to touch it for a year or two if we do 9-00 for the next Gameday. So I would be fine with either 9-00 or 10-00.

DM Carbide |

I'll tentatively commit to being House GM again, pending work weirdness (something I won't know about until we're much closer to the actual date).

DM Carbide |

When I try to download the chronicles I get the error
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/blank_sheets/PFS/PFS 8-99-D.pdf'
And the email option is not available to me saying I need to upgrade my account to use the email feature. Also posted this in the Outpost thread.
I get the same error.

cmlobue |

How much gold does a level 9 in tier 10-11 get? I feel like it should be 6500.5 but wanted to check.
I presume RPGChronicles just doesn't have that sheet uploaded, or something about the name formatting breaks it. I'm doing mine the old-fashioned way, with a PDF editor.
I would pick 6-00, 9-00 or 10-00, but that is for the very selfish reason of I have not experienced them yet.

And now, although I see that the session was reported, I got logged out of RPGChronicles and am unable to log back in despite trying in three different browsers.

DM Carbide |

I was finally able to download the chronicle.
Let's recommend to the folks running the next GameDay that we do Hao Jin Cataclysm. I'll leave this campaign active for another day or so if anyone wants to discuss further. Thanks again for running/volunteering as a backup!
