I am looking to recruit four players for the recent module, Prey for Death. Recruitment will stay open for two weeks unless I get sufficient applications I want to take before then. The Module has four parts, runs from levels 14 to 18 and is likely to take six or more months to complete, at a minimum. It is perhaps a bit longer than a regular AP segment.
My general expectations for players are as follows:
1. Post once daily, with weekends as an exception.
2. Commit to the game and post in a way that pushes things forward and engages with the game.
3. If you cannot post for some reason let us know and keep us updated.
I plan to use either Roll20 or Foundry for maps and handouts. They will not be used for any player dice rolling, just to give an easy place to host player facing material.
Note, this module has some special considerations as you are playing the bad guys. The module provides the following advice on these issues:
Playing Evil Characters
The Red Mantis assassins are killers for hire who worship a cruel deity and rule over the city of Ilizmagorti. This adventure assumes that the PCs are part of this society, and as long as all of the players agree to this core assumption, the fewer personality clashes they’ll have with this adventure’s story. The core events that play out in Prey for Death don’t require the PCs to assassinate anyone that isn’t already of a villainous nature, and the plot doesn’t require them to pursue particularly vile or cruel activities in order to achieve their goals and survive.
Still, you should work with your players to make sure they understand the kind of story they’re getting into. While Prey for Death is written with the assumption that the PCs are working for the Red Mantis assassins, and thus are likely to be evil in temperament, this should not be taken as an excuse by players to make the game uncomfortable for anyone—be they fellow players, the GM, or observers of your game. Before you run Prey for Death, have a talk with your players to make sure they’re
comfortable with the idea of playing evil characters—or at the very least, characters who won’t have an issue allying with evil organizations.
A Shared Goal: This adventure assumes that the PCs are on the same side, and presents them with challenges that assume they work together. Inter-party strife is a sure fire way to bring about the early end of a game session, and care has been taken in this adventure to avoid tropes where the PCs are expected to keep secrets from each other, work at odds from one another, or otherwise set up situations where working together isn’t the best option. Part of this requires that the PCs themselves build characters that not only work well together, but are, as a group, comfortable with tasks involving assassinations and other activities typically reserved for the villains in a campaign.
Safety Tools: Evil PCs often do evil things, and it’s important to consider your and your players’ comfort level performing in-game crimes. Chat with your players about what to expect, where their boundaries are, and whether to include safety tools like those described on pages 6–8 of Pathfinder GM Core. This adventure features violence against combatants, but the PCs might also decide to endanger noncombatants, interrogate captives with the use of fear or threat, destroy property, or just generally terrorize onlookers. Remind the PCs that while Achaekek encourages the use of fear as a tool and condones the act of assassination, his faith (and thus the precepts of the Red Mantis assassins) don’t encourage acts of wanton sadism, and neither does this adventure.
This module starts at level 14 and, as such, is not appropriate for people new to 2E. I am not looking for character builds at this point. Instead, please answer the following questions if you are interested in playing:
1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
In relation to your character please let me have the following information:
1. Where is your character from?
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
Lastly, note that I will be quite severely limiting the available sources for use in this game in order to reduce the potential complication. You will be limited to remastered materials, so Player Core 1, Player Core 2, GM Core, Rage of Elements, Howl of the Wild and the Module materials for the Red Mantis. We will be using free archetype, but again with quite a few restrictions.
In terms of characters this module stresses the use of stealth, deception, disguise, infiltration, subtlety and general sneakiness.
If you have any questions then please ask.

Fury of the Tempest |

An evil team of assassins... okay, I admit, not my normal fare, but I think I'm willing to give this a shot. I currently have zero idea what I will actually play for a Level 14 game admittedly, but I can answer the first question.
1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
Admittedly, minimal. I haven't found many 2E games on the pbp forums I tend to lurk in, and of those, they always start at level 1. While this might be best for a newbie, I just cannot stand the idea of starting at such a low-level. Jumping into the depend like this might not be the best idea, but I am quite interested nonetheless.

1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
I play in multiple games online, and have since 2e was distributed. I GM two games FTF and one game on the Paizo boards.
1. Where is your character from? Upper class Taldor
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take? Rogue with the Dandy archetype.
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
Grew up as a third son in a minor nobles home. Easily was able to manipulate his family and servants to get what he wanted.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
After his parents died, he basically got no inheritance. So, he looked for ways to make a living, while maintaining his luxurious lifestyle. Red Mantis allowed him to infiltrate high society, take his revenge on them, and live the good life.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
There was a formal party in Qadira that was being held. A local Padishah noble was going to attend, and his consort would be wearing the Eye of the Desert. For whatever reason, the Red Mantis wanted them to lose the Eye.
I managed to get invited, enchanted the consort, and made off with the Eye. Needless to say, while the consort still pines for me, the noble is less than pleased.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
I can infiltrate most anywhere where money and prestige are necessary parts of high society. I'm fluent in over twenty languages, and can talk the birds out of the trees. I have some knowledge of poisons and of medicines. I enjoy a good game, and really enjoy some good gossip.

Hello GM Andrew. I'm so hyped to see this. I've played PbP extensively on this board before a longer family hiatus. It was all 1E then... I wanna get back in the gaming saddle now.
In the meantime I've been an irregular guest at a friend's 2E campaign. This answers your first question, I'm very familiar with the game rules.
1. How familiar are you with the 2E rules et? very
1. Where is your character from? the backstory is flexible here, adjustable to any campaign, but it would be some continental area
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take? Goblin Rogue with Flames Oracle archetype
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
Skarn was no simple Goblin. He was much more skilled than the others. This, he wanted to become the ruler of his tribe and eventually more. In his greed for power he meddled with the wrong artifact and got cursed by the gods. Now he's out for revenge.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins? for his revenge, he wanted to learn from the best and eventually hunt down the gods that cursed him
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc. tbd
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission? Very good at Sneaking, Intimidate and lots of divine buffs.
Skarn was born in the shadowy depths of the Darkfang Mountains, where goblins thrived in their squalor, raiding the nearby villages and reveling in their chaotic nature. From a young age, Skarn exhibited a rare cunning that set him apart from his kin. Where other goblins would charge recklessly into battle, Skarn would slink through the shadows, striking from behind with deadly precision. His talent for stealth, thievery, and assassination quickly earned him a place of prominence within his tribe.
But Skarn's ambition knew no bounds. The goblin longed for more than just power within his tribe; he sought domination over all goblin-kind, and even dreamed of one day ruling over the lands of men. He began to covet the ancient and forbidden magic said to be hidden deep within the mountain. These were secrets of the old gods, who had long abandoned the goblin race, leaving them to their savage ways.
One fateful night, Skarn found the ancient temple, buried beneath the mountain's roots. There, in the heart of the forgotten shrine, lay an ancient artifact-a chalice said to contain the essence of the gods' wrath. In his greed and arrogance, Skarn believed that by drinking from the chalice, he could harness the power of the gods themselves. He would become more than just a goblin; he would be a god among mortals.
As Skarn lifted the chalice to his lips, he did not notice the growing heat in the air, nor the faint whispers warning him to stop. The moment the liquid touched his tongue, a searing pain shot through his body. The gods, furious at his presumption, cursed him in the most fitting way they could imagine: with the very fire he sought to control.
Skarn's body erupted in flames, his skin charred black, but he did not die. The fire consumed him, becoming a part of his very being. His eyes burned with an eternal flame, his breath seethed with heat, and his touch could ignite the very air. The fire granted him power, but at a terrible cost: it burned him from the inside out, a constant reminder of his folly.
Now, Skarn is a twisted shadow of his former self. His once smooth and stealthy movements are accompanied by the crackling of embers, and his presence alone causes torches to flare and wood to smolder. He wanders the land as an outcast, even among goblins, feared and reviled by all who see him. His ambition remains, but it is now tempered by the curse he bears. Skarn seeks a way to break the gods' curse, and in his pursuit, he will stop at nothing-betrayal, murder, and terror are but tools in his hands. He has become a harbinger of fiery destruction, a rogue driven by vengeance against the gods who damned him.
Skarn Firetongue no longer dreams of ruling the world; he dreams of watching it burn.

Greetings, GMAndrewW! I am extremely interested in this adventure, I love the theme of the Red Mantises and have been waiting for the release of this adventure for a long time.
How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
Very familiar. I have been playing in 2e since the release of the system, I have GMed various modules and PFS scenarios, now I GMing Abomination Vaults and Crown of the Kobold King, plus I have played quite a few PFS scenarios, some modules and some (seven I think...) books from various Adventure Paths. I also played Night of the Gray Death, designed for levels 16-20, that is, I am also familiar with high tier.
1. Where is your character from?
Ilizmagorti native.
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
Human Fighter with Rogue archetype (I would take the assassin archetype, but it is outside the sources you specified). I am inspired by the good old Artemis Entreri, who, according to the description in books and 3e stats, was exactly a fighter with some dip.
4. 3. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
"Your parents were both Red Mantis assassins and your family has a long tradition of service in the Red Mantis cult. Your strict, fanatical upbringing and familiarity with murder have bestowed upon you an air of confidence and menace." (с) Cultist Lineage, PF1e trait. So my character is precisely a hereditary follower of Achaekek.
3. 4. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
The rebellion of youth was short, but vivid. The city of Ilizmagorti on Mediogalti Island is famous not only for the cultists of the Red Mantis, but also for its pirates. It was with them that my hero went in search of adventures. Returning many years later, matured and with a hard look, he repented to his parents and swore from now on to faithfully serve Achaekek. He rarely talks about what he saw while pirating, but these adventures changed him, made him a man and convinced him that his parents were right to choose to serve such a harsh but just deity.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
It was a message. It was necessary to convince one of the bigwigs of the theatrical world in Kintrago that the actor whom he had thrown out of the new opera was actually the one who should be left in the main role. First, my hero met with this theater boss personally and explained to him that there are very serious forces behind the actor now. The conversation was without threats, threats are not professional. An intelligent person does not need to be threatened, he will understand everything himself. And it's useless to threaten a fool, he won't understand anything anyway. It can't be said that my hero tried to convince this bigwigger, rather he just stated the facts and gave them both a chance to go the easy way... The boss turned out to be a narcissistic fool and did not immediately realize how serious this situation was, so the next morning he woke up feeling strangely sticky and wet sheets... It was the blood that had dripped from the head of his beloved steed, cut off and neatly left on the bed. Needless to say, no one saw who did it, and the boss later made the right decision?
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
Close combat, stealth, cold assessment and sober calculation in action planning and risk assessment.

1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
It's new to me, but I think that I understand the math.
1. Where is your character from?
I'd like for it to be a reincarnating druid, currently orc. He was a doll who was wished alive by a slowly dying child. A mortal child of a demi-god. My character cannot die. It just reincarnates
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
Other than druid, don't know yet.
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
The doll awoke into a linear time. Fully aware. A rational mind pulls from some hidden structure of common sense and language. It looks out and immediately locks eyes with Blake. It found the girl a joy to behold. The living doll speaks. "The sight of you fills me."
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
After the death of it's creator, The doll's mood became darker and darker. It tried to kill itself, only to return as a female wood elf. He soon learned that he cannot leave a place which he finds intolerable. Now he will kill, until something kills him back.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
It's my first look at a druid, But I'd like to think my character turns into a variety of beasties. Skills can be adjusted, but you know, like Nature.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission? Once he's built, I let you know :)

Three glyph GM for PF2. My highest PFS character is 10th as of Gencon. Have not played at level 10 yet. GM'd for level 11, but did not have a good time and retired the campaign because half of my players did not put in the time and effort to communicate what their characters were capable of, leaving this chore to the GM, which frankly burned me out. I prefer to GM for folks whose player effort and character complexity are proportional myself. Promise to do my best to clearly and consistently communicate what my character is capable of, as I would be learning the 14th+ level content as I go.1, 3, 4
Bangy is a Senghor Sailor who was born to a household with 4d12 + 1 ⇒ (10, 11, 5, 5) + 1 = 32 other siblings, who took up sailing to search the world round for his favorite sister, who left home and never came back. He spent the better part of a decade at sea, on and off land, never so much as finding a single clue as to her whereabouts, despite being ever hopeful that somehow, some way, he could endeavor to locate her through sheer persistence. A second decade slowly eroded his hope, and he started praying to Lao Shu Po more and more, like pulling at his tail. Eventually, Bangy gave in, and returned home, only to discover that most of his kin had been dispersed to the seven winds - some through violence, others through neglect, yet others by unexplained motive. Collecting the now-small remnants of his family left, our broken ysoki hero sought employment and soon discovered that his talents were in demand; that his life at sea would still amount to something, something he could turn around and use to provide for his remaining family.
And so, he would eventually join the red mantis assassins, keeping his faith to Old Rat Woman, and hiding it...
5, 6
Twisting the lock open, Bangy easily gained entry into the mark's home, and crept up the stairs with nary a sound, clutching the vial of brackish-purple he would pour into their mouth while they slept... closer... closer...... closer.........
No. The pain in rib below his back was sharp, narrowly missing his heart. Bangy saw red. Whirling on his hidden counterstriker, he felt the years of frustration overpower his executive function, and bleeding profusely, felt his body leap forward to dig his teeth into the assailant's neck, gripping down like a vice on his most vital veins, and ripping them to shreds. His mind going blank.
Awake. There were more than one. All dead. Blood everywhere. There were several in total. Had he been set up? How did they know he would strike tonight. It's difficult - especially because his own loss of blood mixed in with the gore of the scene before him - but he IDs the mark. Dead. Feeling his wits return to him, he retrieves a silvery-white elixir from his pocket and drains it. Invigorating. And the mess? Looks like a wild animal got them. Too much to clean. But it doesn't quite look like a Hit.
It'll have to stand.
He makes his way for the front door, unsure why he bothers being stealthy again (habit?), and vacates the premises...

Plots and plans and go overs the classes to try and come up with a good class
Finally settles on a Rogue/Bard, comes back to the thread, pleased
See's the following:
-Rogue/Dandy
-Rogue/Flame Oracle
-Fighter/Assassin (Player Core 2 does have the Assassin archetype)
-Druid/???
-Barbarian/Rogue or Alchemist.
... I think I might need to go back to the drawing board...
Are we allowed to change the flavour of a class? Because, I rather like the Champion, Strength and Charisma, an absolute tank that can defend allies and strike out at enemies. But the entire Divine aspect of the class doesn't sit well with me. I'd rather it be in the pursuit of an ordeal or some type of oath, rather than being so heavily divine.

Lia Wynn |

I'm going to toss my hat into the ring as well.
1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
I am GMing in a game, and playing in a game here on the Paizo boards, and have been running TT PF2E for about 2 years. I have a good feel for the rules.
1. Where is your character from?
I would play a Nephilim from Qadira.
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
Wizard. I'm not sure what archetype(s) yet as I don't have my PC2 yet. I'm thinking Archeologist, Scroll Trickster, or something else along those lines/
3. Tell me a bit about your character's background in no more than a paragraph.
She is a scholar and a researcher in ancient cultures and magic. She explores Qadira and other lands in search of lost lore or items and consults with various groups.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
After helping the Red Mantis out with a very delicate task, they gave her the option of joining or being silenced. Seeing the offer as a sign of respect, after all, they gave the choice and did not just kill her, she accepted.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favors for other individuals or organizations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
Using Lore she had learned, she led the Manits to an ancient tomb to recover a formula for a long-forgotten poison. They then used the poison to eliminate a target whose healers could not figure out how to negate the poison. In addition, if Ira Kroll and I both made the game, and Ira liked the idea, I could have been the person who got him into the party in his mission.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
From a mechanical perspective, I'd have at least 3 of the RK skills (Arcana, Occultism, and Society) covered. I'm thinking about exploring the Counterspell route, as I've yet to see it used in play and would like to. The flexibility of the Wizard to swap to an entirely new spell lineup could be very handy, as well, if we get lead time to learn about targets, and I imagine assassins would have that.

scranford |

Very familiar with the ruleset. Playing in several games on these boards and running one as well (Waves at Lia). Also have ran and played in several campaigns at the table. Have probably watched / listened to hundreds of hours of actual play you-tubes, and podcasts. Haven't tried high level yet, so looking forward to the possibility of this as an introduction using PbP which gives more time to consider all the options.
1. Where is your character from? Human (Changling) Land of the Linnorm Kings
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take? Barbarian (Animal Instinct, Monk)
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph. Krust never got along with anyone. He was rude, crude and socially unacceptable, but his strong back and the fact that he was very capable of killing about anything with just his bare hands offered him an interesting position in life. Though he drank away much of his profit he wasn't really in it for the money anyway. Then he found a group that accepted him for what he was... not liked him.... but appreciated his unique set of abilities. Sometimes subtly and grace weren't the answer. He got better at them... but they were a means to an end. He is blunt force personified.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins? Covered above. This was an easy and lucrative way for him to continue to do what he did best, and he was appreciated for his skills.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favors for other individuals or organizations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
Since he already had passing familiarity with the area in question, Krust was sent on a mission to find one of the bolt holes for White Estrid. He was along to deal with any threats that needed his abilities to defeat. Unfortunately for him the majority of the threats encountered were more of the Hazard variety than actual physical combat... but he surprised himself, and his squad members by being quite effective against this type of threat as well.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission? Even more effective without weapons as with them... so easy to sneak into places. Quite athletic, and nimble for one of his bulk. Also, a good backup for some of the more roguelike abilities, and his slow simmering temper keeps him from raging until necessary.

Ellioti |

I owe you one thing from your list. Didn't get this done last time.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
Skarn was sent on an assassination mission that didn't require subtlety, his favorite.
He skulked through the shadows of the noble's manor, a wicked grin spreading across his scarred face. He had heard of the noble's vast fortune, and his greed burned brighter than the torches lining the halls. Skarn's fingers twitched as he reached into his pouch, pulling out a small vial of explosive powder, a favorite toy of his. With a mere touch, he set the powder ablaze, tossing it into the noble's study where the man was engrossed in his ledgers. The room erupted in flames, and amidst the chaos, Skarn slipped in, his dagger finding the noble's heart with lethal precision. As the manor burned to the ground, Skarn vanished into the night, the echoes of his maniacal laughter trailing behind him.

Nope, champions require a deity and you would have to take akaechek.

Achaekek
("He Who Walks In Blood")
While Achaekek’s divine genesis is heavily debated among scholars, it is believed that he was created—either by the power of a singular deity or a group of them—to eradicate those who would steal a god’s divinity, and he has since become the enforcer of divine punishment. Known as He Who Walks in Blood, he slumbers in the blood of heretics and worshippers alike in an immense cleft carved into the base of the Boneyard’s spire, a realm known as the Blood Vale. He keeps no formal relationships with any other deities, even his sister, Grandmother Spider, who repeatedly coaxes Achaekek to rebel against the gods and abandon his duties. In response, even though some gods disapprove of Achaekek’s methods, few openly defy him.
He Who Walks in Blood detests oathbreakers and bears a particular prejudice against mortals seeking to ascend into divinity, but the Mantis God believes in compensation for selfless duties and rewards the rare individual for their murderous deeds. Violation of his tenets and, occasionally, slights against Grandmother Spider may provoke Achaekek’s wrath.
Category Other Gods

1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset? Been playing it since it came out.
In relation to your character please let me have the following information:
1. Where is your character from? Jinin Originally.
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take? Imperial Sorcerer, Ranger Archetype
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph. Acrobat. Who was this animal, as Jake Red Mantis human spotted the Golden Scarab Beatle. Now there is an idea he thought. He watched the thing climb trees and move about. Jake had an idea, how about I inject human brain cells into this thing weekly and make it work for us. After three months, and then Jake died. If only Jake lived another week, he would have seen his success, as the new owner, Mike was surprised when he saw the Golden Scarab Beatle speak.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins? so Player Core 1, Player Core 2, GM Core, Rage of Elements, Howl of the Wild and the Module materials for the Red Mantis. We will be using free archetype, but again with quite a few restrictions. So this gave me an idea He didn't join the Red Mantis Assassins, he was a pet. His owner now dead belonged Red Mantis Assassins. His owner injected human brain cells into him from various members, it took months for it to go into effect, but it made him what he is and made him sentient. Awakened Animal if that is okay.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God.
He had to track down a few famous individuals and bring them alive. Sheriffs, Doctors, even spellcasters.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission? Hit them hard, hit them fast, and use a few magic tricks up his sleeve to turn the tables or to sneak by. Stealth and Survival, he will definitely have.
7. Side Note: I got this idea while watching the science channel. True fact, recently scientists decided to inject human brain cells into monkeys. We do don't know what the actual results of that are yet, or at least they didn't tell us.

I don't have enough of the character backstory thought through to share that yet, but I figured I'd post the general idea.
Halfling Bard who was formerly a slave in Cheliax, potentially lived in Ravonuel for a time. They were hardened by years of subjugation and joining the Red Mantis assassins was a turn the tide and conquer other people for a change.
I'll take the weekend to flesh things out and post again early next week.

1. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
I believe I fall under Intermediate experience bracket
In relation to your character please let me have the following information:
1. Where is your character from?Ilizmagorti
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take? Ranger/RMA/Dual Weapon
Surki Ancestry
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
Her clutch was drawn to the temple due to the over whelming divine magic that resonates there and eventually hatched and matured there, eager to experience the world through the eyes of what she refers to as Red Magic
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
As above. She wishes to become closer to the Red Magic and perhaps even achieve a 3rd metamorphosis and become one of the Red Magic’s avatar
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
With her understanding of healing methods as well as her official membership she has gone on many missions as support as well as executioners. One of these missions was to accompany a small strike force to remove a corrupt mayor and his retinue in a small mining town. She struck the final blow after a bloody battle. And thanks to her skills the entire team made it back, sporting only a few scars
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
She is adept at being stealthy. As well as her ability to treat wounds. She also has an uncanny ability to track targets through harsh terrain

HI. Probably going to pull out of this one. I'd like to try "High Level" play but made a 14th level character in Pathbuilder and was overwhelmed at all the abilities. I think it would be Okay if you played the character up to this high level, but getting it all at once would be overwhelming, and make it difficult to choose abilities that depend on each other. Have fun... and I'll be watching.

It does take hours to do and there are lots of choices. If you play lots of PFS you might have a few characters up to at least level 8 so you know what works/doesn't work for you. The good thing is the DM didn't ask for actual builds just concepts. If I'm applying to a high level game and the DM called for full on characters I wouldn't apply. Because say 20 people apply but only 5 get picked, it wouldn't matter if the picking was random or he looked at each concept, I'm putting in hours of work for that chance.
A full on build during low level character submissions are okay for me, cause that is maybe one hour for me at most. When a DM is running a high level game, I like it when he says apply with backgrounds, concepts and personalities only. It is a turn off for me when he/she says full on characters upon submission.

Hello all, yesterday rather got away from me. I would like to thank everyone for your applications. I have decided on the following four characters:
Ira Kroll - Rogue Dandy
Ellioti - Rogue Oracle
‘Eκάτη - Fighter Rogue
Lia Wynn - Wizard
Please report to discussion to start to sort out character builds.

Ellioti |

that's actually a not so easy question. We haven't had any encounters yet and lvl 14 builds are pretty wide. I'll try my best:
Thief Rogue with Oracle FA: Infiltrator, Skirmisher, Healer
Sorcerer with Fighter FA: Arcane caster with Blaster focus and some Archer capability
Scoundrel Rogue with Dandy/Swash/Assassin: Social, Skirmisher
missing: Tank, Medicine, Athletics, Control, an actual Red Mantis Assassin :D

I'm working on a kineticist. Air and water, so will be able to help out with healing. They will also be able to do some tanking and some control.
I'm still building and fleshing them out, but here is what I have so far.
1. Where is your character from?
I was raised on Mediogalti Island
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
Kineticist. Probably rogue for the archetype. I don't have the new RM Assassin archetype, but the old one doesn't fit very well.
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
I was born to an Assassin. She met a kineticist on a mission and thought those abilities would be useful. So she arranged to seduce him and the child fortunately had that gift. Growing up, he was taught the craft from birth and raised to follow Achaekek.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
I was trained from birth to join.
I can help the whole group fly and boost their speed.
I can go invisible for a short time at will.
I can summon fog that impairs movement.
I can turn to mist and move through small cracks.
I can heal.
I have some area effects.
I can freeze people momentarily.
I have planetary-scale communications, so long as I know their name.
I have some ways to handle incoming damage.
Possibly more as I continue.

0. How familiar are you with the 2E ruleset?
Moderately experienced with PF2E, though high-level play would be new to me.
1. Where is your character from?
A remote village in the Mwangi Expanse
2. What class and archetype(s) are you intending to take?
Fighter with Medic archetype; potentially Red Mantis Assassin
3. Tell me a bit about your characters background in no more than a paragraph.
The character (yet to be named) was a warrior in a Mwangi tribe near the Chelaxian colony Sargava. When the colonists lost the city and surrounding, they fled north and attacked character's tribe. Homeless and distraught, character eventually fell in with a group of Red Mantis Assassins and joined their ranks as a bruiser and occasional medic.
4. Why did your character join the Red Mantis assassins?
Beyond the answer above, he see the Red Mantis organization as means to a end. By aligning with them, he has an outlet for the anger that welled up in him since the destruction of his tribe.
5. Describe a previous mission you have completed for the Mantis God. This doesn't have to be an assassination, the Red Mantis often do various favours for other individuals or organisations as well as sending their agents off to hunt down secrets, information, treasure etc.
Character was included on a mission to track and kill remaining Sargavan leaders that escaped the city. The anti-colonists needed to focus on rebuilding the city and building a new nation. In addition to removing pawns from the board, the mission also involved gathering information about other Sargavan hideouts and other Chelaxian initiatives.
6. What skills and qualities does your character bring to the team and its assassination mission?
Striker and frontline attacker
Melee maneuvers - trip, grapple, etc
Mundane healing
(potentially) minor magic via RMA archetype
