GM, wanted to see what you think. Yuan Wu would almost always Exploit Vulnerability as his first action in combat, which could affect his subsequent actions. In my past PBP, my posts could get awkward, either guessing whether my check succeeded (when the rolls are obvious) or setting contingencies depending on which way the results are.
Following up on this, I hadn't done it yet and then your rolls ended up being obviously "very likely" successful (avoiding the delay/awkwardness). However, I'll start remembering to do it preemptively so that you don't get stuck making a judgement call about a "so so" roll.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can use create a diversion on a creature?
I don't see a limit, but repeated attempts are made against a more-aware target:
Whether or not you succeed, creatures you attempt to divert gain a +4 circumstance bonus to their Perception DCs against your attempts to Create a Diversion for 1 minute.

Yuan Wu wrote:My reading of the rules is that even though I activate the weaknesses of these creatures, to get the personal antitheses (which has a higher damage), I would need to exploit vulnerability on the individual. Also, to be able to activate implement interruptions. The "creature" referred to is the individual whose vulnerabilities you're exploiting. So yes, and you've spent the action against specific individuals in the original case and this latest one. Are you clarifying because the ability also tells you what the creature's weaknesses are, which if it is not a unique creature, applies to other members of the same type?
Yeah. 'cos I've played a game where the GM ruled that the exploit vulnerability would apply for all other members of the same type, but I didn't feel right. So just wanted to be clear upfront. :)

GM PaleDim |

Makes sense. Getting the weakness info for the type of creature is still a pretty nice benefit where it applies (which is almost always). That can help the rest of your party too. Personal antithesis being just a little higher seems like a balanced incentive to go ahead and use the action.
One of these days I'll play a thaumaturge. It feels like it would pair well with a martial multiclass.

GM PaleDim |

Whoa, sorry to hear that Billy. Is everyone okay?

GM PaleDim |

It can be easy to lose details in PbP. I've added some summary posts. Would it be helpful if I made status posts regularly after each room? If there are other ways I should be more supporting scream real loud :)

Minor rant:
Going to a face to face con in a few weeks. Got into one PFS2 game with some local friends and am probably going to use Eltis here since they are all 4th level and he'll level after this. Great time to finally update him to Core rules!
So the basis for him was the old beleif that Kobolds are related to dragons and he was proof. The breath weapon, upcoming wings and flight. Core nerfed pretty much all of that. No dragon breath at all. Higher level wing use isn't true flying, basically a jetpack rule from Starfinder.
/sigh.
So, I maybe fully redesigning him after this game. Will just have to see how I feel.
OK, rant over.

GM, I really cannot see how I am supposed to see where I need to go on using the present size of the map. I have tried making it bigger on my computer e niente.
You're not giving enough information for anyone to help you with this.
1. This map is the same size and same orientation as the maps we've been using for the past two months. Have you not been able to see anything for the entire scenario? Or is something different this time?
2. We are in the top left corner of Slide 9, if you're having trouble locating where the icons are in a zoomed-in slide.
3. Mapless description: Billy is in front of a set of double doors. 15' west of Billy is the enemy. Yuan Wu is to the NW of the enemy and Ghardak is to the SE of the enemy. Thevenin is SE of Ghardak (as a check, this is 1W, 2S from Billy). Eltis is to the SW of Thevenin. The students are in the corridor with Billy, and they don't appear to have initiative, so I don't think they're combatants, but they're in a line directly south of Billy: Geltra, Tels, Vim, Hari, and Alec, from north to south.

GM PaleDim |

That's the short of it. The students can see the pelagastr tail, but they cannot see you. Right now they are standing in fright of what they see and probably backing away slowly (I should reflect that on the map).
More immediately for Billy, you can technically shoot at the enemy from where you are, through the doorway (none of your teammates are in-between).
---------------
So, here's what I've done.
I blew up that room and placed everybody's enlarged tokens on a zoomed-in map ON SLIDE 10.
The last time I did this, it was just a screen shot image to help Billy get a sense of the map and hopefully zoom into the right place on the real map. This time it is a functional enlarged map with real tokens (so it's the real map for this encounter).
I hope this helps, that's about as much as I can enlarge.

You do not have to Remaster him
Seems like they are pushing for it though. It's OK. After that whiny rant i'm starting to like the new and very different Eltis for 4th level...

Feel free to declare/roll any downtime (such as earn income) that you'd like me to include on the chronicle sheet!
Thank you all for playing. I hope this game was fun, if sometimes disorienting ;)

warfare lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Thanks for running! Yeah, it was an interesting premise and story.
And really appreciate the effort you put in posting as multiple characters! Really made the game for me.

Mining lore: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Thanks! Was a fun one.
Yes, the multiple characters was great! Must have taken quite a bit of time.

architecture lore: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Thank you for running. I think you did an excellent job with your large and varied cast of NPC's! Was an interesting, different and fun game!
Thanks to all for playing as well.

So, funny enough, while the initial setup did take a little bit of time, the ability to breakdown what would have otherwise been "wall of text" posts made it easier to create the flow, managing smaller posts. It also made it more natural to ad-lib a little personality in here and there.
The trick is really just: are the desired aliases going to be available on these forums? (e.g., Hari had to be HariStudent).
I'm glad you all enjoyed it :)

[dice=Leshy Lore]1d20+6 vs DC 15
Failure, 0.08 gp
Ty for computing the result for me :) Saves me from having to look up your proficiency level in the relevant skill. However, DC15 is task level 1, for which failure is 2cp/day (so 16cp).

Your chronicles are available HERE. Please let me know if you see a problem with them!
I have reported the game. I'll leave this thread active for a couple of days to make sure everybody sees the above link.
Thank you all for playing, I hope it was enjoyable. See you at another table soon!

Oops, I just realised I clicked the wrong faction in rpgchronicles. Yuan Wu should be in Vigilant Seal, not Envoy's Alliance. (I just corrected it in rpgchronicles.) I can correct my chronicle sheet, but would the reporting need to be updated?

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

2 cp/day x 8 days = 8 cp, and nothing that you say will convince Thevenin otherwise.
But they'll take the extra copper, because keeping copper pieces under their bed keeps the termites away.

Yeah, let me hit up the game day organizers to figure out how to fix reporting.

Okay, so it worked out naturally because the rpgchronicles submission just logs it to the conf organizers and they manually submit to Paizo a couple of times a day. That delay caused the manual submission to include your correction.
So alls well that ends well.

GM PaleDim |

Sounds like everyone has their chronicle, so I’ll close down the thread tonight.
Thanks again for being great players. See you all down the ‘ol dusty trail.
