For organizing ourselves prior to the game, and coordinating out-of-character during it.

GM PaleDim |

Who has played (has a chronicle sheet for):
* Pathfinder Society Scenario #2‐09: The Seven Secrets of Dacilane Academy
* Pathfinder Society Scenario #3‐99: Fate in the Future
with any character, or this character? Please specify which.

My angel blooded sorcerer has played the 3-99 scenario. I am not sure that I am bringing him though, would it be beneficial to do so?

GM PaleDim |

There is a recall knowledge benefit for characters that played either of these scenarios, but still a slightly lesser benefit if *any* of your characters have played one of them.
So I would suggest using that as a distant tiebreaker rather than not bringing the character you want to play right now.

GM PaleDim |

Anyway, we have until the end of next weekend to choose characters. I suggest everybody start by stating the character they would most like to bring, and let's see what level range that lands us on.

Posting in with Thevenin Serkat, Level 3 tempest oracle.
Thevenin has a Chronicle for #2-09.
Two of my other characters have Chronicles for #3-99.

I forgot to open up the macros for sharing (of course, lol), so I've fixed that and the updated link is

GM PaleDim |

Glad to see we're getting some character selections! Don't forget to dot-and-delete in gameplay once you've signed up on rpgchronicles.

Yuan Wu played in #2‐09. That was quite a fun romp. I've also played 3-99 but with a different character.
GM, wanted to see what you think. Yuan Wu would almost always Exploit Vulnerability as his first action in combat, which could affect his subsequent actions. In my past PBP, my posts could get awkward, either guessing whether my check succeeded (when the rolls are obvious) or setting contingencies depending on which way the results are.
Instead, was wondering what you think about just going ahead to roll for Yuan Wu's Exploit Vulnerability (+8) just before his turn:
- At start of combat, for the nearest target, and
- After the foe he's taken down, the next nearest target.
I know that's a bit of book-keeping for you though, so totally fine to just continue doing things the way I've done. :)

As long as you're okay with me using judgement to spend those actions on your behalf I don't mind. For me it's not much further than rolling initiative for the party.

GM PaleDim |

I really want to try this guy out. Can someone take a look over and let me know what you think of his build? This is my first ever gunslinger.
I'll let your fellow players with more Gunslinger experience weigh in, but the alchemical add-ons appeal to me :)

GM PaleDim |

So far we have three characters dotted in. Also check the above links to supply necessary/helpful info.

Thanks, yeah I'm good with that!

Thank you.
No one else want to offer suggestions?

My only gunslinger experience was playing a pregen for the gunslinger One-Shot.

FYI: I just realized the official start date is Sunday and i'll be on vacation! Per the VRBO reviews there's good wifi so I'll be checking in but may be less timely and verbose than I should be on day one.
Going to work on entering the macros now.

GM PaleDim |

I’ll be making the first official post late Sunday, US/Pacific time. If you’re only away/limited on Sunday then I think that is fine.
I could kick off character introductions tonight (I just can’t make the first scenario post early).

GM PaleDim |

That essentially gets everyone an extra hero point?

GM PaleDim |

Speaking of hero points, I've distributed the GM glyphs on the slides. It appears not everyone has filled them out yet (e.g., marching order). Take a peak when you get a minute.

GM PaleDim |

Hmm, somewhere along the lines the macros got broken. Eg I see some
of Eltis’ roll templates but I don’t see a spreadsheet tab for him.
I’ll debug it tonight after work.

GM PaleDim |

Not I said the Little Red Hen
What was this referring to?

![]() |

Did I miss something? Are we supposed to or not supposed to tell them we’re here?

GM PaleDim |

You are, you essentially have via the abacus. You've been phase shifted out of the Material plane, needed a way to communicate and have found the beginnings of a method.

![]() |

I guess we need to figure out which plaque fits which artifact amongst ourselves first, then figure out how to communicate that to the students by giving them hints, but not the answers outright.
Plaque 1: fallen star, so should be the lump of metal
Plaque 2: clearly spyglass?
Plaque 3: ???
Plaque 4: I'm guessing this is from the narwhal, i.e. the spiral horn.
By elimination, seems that Plaque 3 would be the owlbear but I can't figure out why.

GM PaleDim |

Are we supposed to help the kobold decipher her text as well?
Yes. Are you asking because the VCes originally said to not help “too much”? That definition changed when the unexpected, more complicated situation started. But also you can trust that handouts serve real purposes :) so yes, help.

GM PaleDim |

Quick check: how is the pacing of this game? Too fast, slow, or just right?

![]() |

Is it too late to apply this:
You react to trouble with lightning speed, positioning yourself just right. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to your initiative roll, and you can Interact to draw a one-handed firearm or one-handed crossbow. As your first action on your first turn, you can Step up to 10 feet as a free action.

GM PaleDim |

nope. not too late. It doesn't change the initiative block anyway.

GM PaleDim |

Billy, would you mind adding a status line to your character's profile? It provides convenient access to basic stats like armor class and saves.

GM PaleDim |

Take Yuan Wu's profile as an example, see how he filled out class/race/gender. That text then appears below your profile name on every post.

GM PaleDim |

My reading of the rules is that even though I activate the weaknesses of these creatures, to get the personal antitheses (which has a higher damage), I would need to exploit vulnerability on the individual. Also, to be able to activate implement interruptions.
The "creature" referred to is the individual whose vulnerabilities you're exploiting. So yes, and you've spent the action against specific individuals in the original case and this latest one. Are you clarifying because the ability also tells you what the creature's weaknesses are, which if it is not a unique creature, applies to other members of the same type?
