Tabil would know that the Kite which was the location of
Kenabres’s wardstone vanished during the attack on Kenabres.
The magical wardstones along the eastern and southern borders of the Worldwound have kept the demons from overrunning north-central Avistan and beyond.
You've heard a rumor that the demons have opened a portal to the Abyss where the wardstone once stood... and that portal is growing!
Irabeth is able to supply you with some basic outlines of the internal structure of the Gray Garrison, but, she doesn't know what awaits you there.
Meanwhile, Irabeth says, "Since you've reunited me with Anevia, I'm going to accompany you."
When Anevia hears this, she lets you know in no uncertain terms that, just because her leg prevents her from going with you, she expects you to keep Irabeth safe.
Since you spoke with Quednys, and he learned of Aravashnial returning to Blackwing, he gets a message from Aravashnial speaking of a hidden cache of Riftwarden equipment.
You receive 8 Healing Potion (Lesser), 4 Potions of Cleanse Affliction, 10 +1 Fiend Bane Arrows, a Chime of Opening, a Cold-Iron Longsword, 10 Cold-Iron Arrows, a wand of Force Barrage, and a wand of Radiant Light.
Horgus Gwerm also contributes materials to the cause.
Finally, some rangers from Neatholm will also accompany you. Mechanically, you each get a Ranger who will act on your turn. They will not act suicidally, but get two actions on your turn.

I'm not sure if its just a hold over, but I doubt the intent is that each of those arrows contains its own fully functioning fiend bane, maybe I'm the party pooper here though lol. Maybe we'd have to scavenge all 10 arrows to make 1 fiend bane rune for someone, idk that's the GM's call

That is almost correct. The Fiend Bane cannot be transferred from the arrows. The arrows are semi-consumable. They can be used and retrieved as normal, but, if they are the killing blow to a fiend, the arrow loses its magic.
Avenger of the Green
Avenger would like a healing potion and one of the potions of cleanse affliction. Of course he knows this may be feeding them to somebody else.
Are the rangers all the same? Or do we have a mix of flurry, outwit, precision and vindication? Or can we build them ourselves?
Perla Hidlkid
Perla would see if her bow could be updated to bane as well, but does not know much more about how to upgrade her bow pass the striking rune she has. She does help out with the defense as she can, but when word of moving out comes, she will mention " Perhaps you should stay here? Not to take honor from you, but to ensure no harm comes here?"
Tabil
Listening to the conversation, Tabil makes several notes in his journal. He sits patiently, smoking his wooden pipe. "Friends!" he steps into the debate. "I don't think you should be saying such things: 'Demons can't think and plan'." he points to Ragathien. "If the demon host's strategy was to descend on Kenabres like mindless flies unto camel dung, there would have only been one Crusade and the Sarkoris rift would be the subject of history books only." he pulls on the pipe again. "I would advise you not to underestimate these creatures." Tabil pulls out the six-armed figurine of a woman with a snake tail and puts it on the table. He leans back. "They lay traps. They coordinate. They obviously have long-term goals. They have -and have had for a while- spies in the city walls. No, this is no hungry animal." Tabil wags his index finger to support his argument visually.
"We should try to dismantle that network as well. After we deal with the imminent issue." he gestures towards Irabeth. "This Wardstone shard. As for the Eagle Watch staying here and not helping with the Gray Garrison problem, well..." he sighs. "It honestly seems like there could be no Defender's Heart to return to if we fail. And I am no general, so I will trust your judgement on this." he nods to Irabeth and leans against his chair again, waiting for opinions.
Tabil can also help with a +10 in crafting, though I do not have Magical Crafting feat required for runes. Does this mean we can put runes on the weapons? Transferring a rune is 10% of the rune's price, and I see the following items with runes on the list:
+1 Longbow - Perla
Yaniel's Sword
+1 weapon rune on a mace
+1 longsword
2x +1 scimitar
Meaning we have 6 runes + some relic sword which I am not sure about mechanically. What is it, actually, GM? Is it just in a box somewhere? Thank you!
There is also a unique ranseur available. Thought that seems to be a 1e item and we should mechanically convert it to 2e.
Ragathien
"With respect, the horde of the Abyss is as boundless as mortal sin, so as long as there is a door to our world, they would walk through it simply for the opportunity to create mayehm."
Ragathien does, however, incline his head to the Khellish Invistigator
"That said, I own that I have some rather ingrained prejudices, and our friend Tabil is quite right: their penchant for chaos notwithstanding, Demon Lords can be rather cunning, as we've seen, and should never be underestimated."
TechoWrath
Are the rangers all the same? Or do we have a mix of flurry, outwit, precision and vindication? Or can we build them ourselves?
The book says to use a provided NPC. Here is the one I've updated for PF2.
If you want to make a level 1 Ranger, you may use that one as a starting point, but, don't increase any of the Ability modifiers, or add anything radical.

The Gray Garrison is so-called for its squat, plain gray stone facade. Before the fall, the Gray Garrison served as a museum, tended by several aged curators who kept the structure in working order out of a sense of duty and to honor the past. Once the initial attack on Kenabres was over, the cultists chose it as their base of operations due to its central location and its ease of defense.
The Gray Garrison has two full floors and a partial third floor. Rooms within are lit via continual flames placed inside lanterns, as the lack of windows makes the accumulation Doors are made of stone and can be barred from both sides, but unless otherwise indicated, they cannot be locked.
When you are ready, you may approach the entrance.

Absently cleaning his +1 Striking Cold-iron longsword, the Fighter looks upon the Gray Garrison.

His grip tightens on his staff, and his voice lowers as he adds, “No telling how many cultists and demons they’ve crammed inside, though. We need to be smart about this—hit hard, move fast, and don’t let them pin us down. If we give them time to reinforce, this is gonna turn ugly.”
Krakas turns to Perla, Solras, and the others. “Any ideas before we go knocking?”
Tabil
"Is there not some sort of sewer or alternative access? Something unknown that is less likely to be watched?" Tabil keeps his back to a wall to not be seen as he looks at Irabeth. "We're not a siege army."
How many people are there in this 'assault', actually? Party + Irabeth + how many rangers?
TechoWrath
There are you all, Irabeth, and (since there are seven of you), seven Mongral Rangers. Additionally, in the background many of the defenders from Defender's Heart are making an assault at the same time.
A large stretch of buckled ground and rubble stretches before the Gray Garrison, an aptly named structure that squats across from the open ground that once stood before the Cathedral of Saint Clydwell. That cathedral is no more — nothing remains but a towering mound of rubble and a deep, jagged rift in the ground.
The other assaults upon the Gray Garrison seem to have brought most of the guards away from this front entrance. Thus, you are able to approach it undetected.
Two hideously obese, naked men armed with scythes guard the Gray Garrison’s entrance.
The only other apparent point of entry is a small shutter on the wall 15 feet above and just to the left of the front doors.

Krakas recognizes the other as a bloated version of Lord Hulrun — once the leader of Kenabres!
You may make one round's worth of preparation before you begin the encounter.

Tabil pulls out his bow and strings it. "Friends, I suppose the patrols are sufficiently distracted. If we know where we are going, shall we begin?" he looks at Irabeth pointedly. "Any idea where to look for the shard?"
Krakas
Krakas readies himself, staff slung behind his back, hands free and ready for spell casting, whispering to the crew, "Careful, one of those. . .creatures is Lord Hulrun, terrible to see him fallen so low,"

The city’s famed prelate, Hulrun Shappok, first gained the trust and admiration of Kenabres’ citizens by organizing inquisitions against suspected demon-worshipers and witches. Hulrun and his force of elite witch hunters exposed dozens of cultists and spies — and, it is said, executed many more under suspicion but with no real proof. These events started the Third Crusade — widely accepted as the least effective and most self-destructive of the four crusades. Still, Hulrun roused respect and admiration in the populace as well as fear, and he agreed to guide the city as its prelate in 4682.

Krakas continues to charge electricity between the two abominations while directing his ranger to focus down the red one. Krakas strides out to the right, trying to open lanes for the ranger's to shoot through.

Merlin's reaction kills the red obese man, and a worm, nearly the size of a man crawls out of it.
Merlin's vicious swing kills it.
It is so unsettling, that everyone must make a DC 19 Will save or be Frightened 1.
Perla will miss the blue obese man, but Shadow will move up to it and bite it.
The mongrelman will kill the blue obese man with an arrow through an eye, then a worm, again the size of a man crawls out of the body.
It is so unsettling, that everyone must make a DC 19 Will save or be Frightened 1.
Avenger's ranger does six damage to the worm
Reflex Blue: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Krakas puts the finishing touch on the worm.
COMBAT OVER
The worms are dead, and, the bodies, contain nothing inside of their skins.
You can probably heal everyone up in ten minutes.
What do you want to do?
Perla Hidlkid
"Where they not alive? What where those worms? What evil has seeped into this famed city that such creatures were able to come here?!?!"
Tabil
"First question is a good one. The second, I think we already have an answer to." Tabil inches closer to the nearest work creature, first poking it with his foot to make sure it is dead, then leaning down to find out what it is. "Perhaps these worm-like entities took control over the bodies. I suppose it would make sense. This one is... or was... Hulrun Shappok. Surely not a demon-worshipper, given that he is known for organising an inquisition. Then again... who would suspect the leader of the inquisition?" he muses.
I would like a RK check on this thing, please. +8 Keen Recollection for specific lore and an additional +1 for pursue a lead if any of the cases I am currently woking on apply.
I can heal two people (or a wolf) by taking 10 minutes. I assume we want to top up before moving further. But does the street look safe?

So, the thing inhabiting the skins of the people was a Grimslake. A Fiend from the Abyss, you will need to check the skins for their eggs. Although, you don't quite know why it didn't explode once killed. And, you can't imagine why it isn't in the Abyssal Plane.
Also, Avenger of the Green can produce Fresh Produce. So, between all of you, you can heal everyone in under ten minutes.
How are you going to open the door?
