The binder's words continue to impede the halfling, especially after seeing Fasiel drop Slipp. Not trusting his skills to sneak up on the mirror, Nic instead executes another hit-and-run on Fasiel. His hand trembles terribly, and his strike goes awry.

The investigator finally sees the opportunity he's been waiting for. He lashes out with his whip to finally pull the fiend's staff from his hand.

Luz takes a step forward and moves to throw his hammer, hoping to draw a reactive attack from Fasiel.

Nic, like most conditions Frightened doesn't stack. The worst case is that you critically fail your save at the start of your turn, become Frightened 2, then your frightened value is reduced by one at the end of your turn, and you are Frightened 1 until your next turn.

Nic continues to struggle against Fasiel's rant and attacks ineffectively.

Luz is also unnerved by Fasiel's words, but he analyses the situation and uses his whip to wrench Fasiel's staff out of his hand. The staff falls to floor with a clatter and scream of rage from Fasiel. Luz then steps in and throws a hammer at Fasiel, provoking Fasiel's ire.

Fasiel smacks Luz with a closed fist, but Luz's hammer still hits, causing Fasiel to howl again.

Slipp starts to lose consciousness and move toward the boneyard, away from the life-giving flames, but Martin snaps them back by healing them before they can slip to far away from life.

Slipp wakes up with a gasp, laying prone on the floor.

Mavenee stabs Fasiel with a horn, leaving an ugly gash in Fasiel's side.

Fasiel is definitely wounded, but still has some fight left in him.

Nic is Frightened 2 from the time Fasiel acts through Nic's turn, but at the end of Nic's turn the Frightened condition is reduced by one. Nic is only Frightened 1 until the end of his next turn.

Hi Junior, I've got a problem here. IF you go back to read the original "Slipp notices" entry about the mirrors, it says "Disable: DC 21 Stealth (trained) to approach a mirror without showing up in the reflection, followed by DC 19 Thievery to cover mirror or dispel magic (2nd level; counteract DC 19) to counteract the binding.

The last stealth check I can find for you is only 18, which doesn't meet the DC. The mirrors don't have a real penalty for failure or reaction other than what they do for Fasiel.

Since I didn't tell you that you failed the first check, I am going to go ahead and give you the successful disable on the Mirror.

Junior misses with his Javelin but manages to pull blanket off the adjacent couch and cover the farthest mirror. The Strange creature inside can no longer see Fasiel to react to his injuries.

Slipp struggles to their feet. Presumably provoking an AOO if Fasiel can use them.

For the first time a flicker of fear can be seen in the little gnomes eyes. They throw up their hands as if to ward off approaching death, as perhaps they are. And as they are thrown up, fire continues to spill from them.

Martin now activates the sigil on his forehead and both his and Mavenee's sigil pulse in sync. He sends a wave of healing aura on the eidolon as the eidolon continues his attacks on Fasiel.

Martine initiates a healing surge for Mavenee and himself. Mavenee tries to gore Fasiel, but misses badly.

Junior is still unnerved by all the ranting, but does throw a javelin at Fasiel and manages to hit him for a minor wound.

Then Junior manages to sneak over to the last mirror and cover it with a wall hanging before the strange creature inside can react.

No more mirrors to interfere with hits with damage over 20 HP, and Fasiel is definitely unsteady on hsi feet, although he continues to rant.

With the successful attack, Luz makes Faisel flat footed to Hui Kong.

Luz attempts then attempts another hammer throw.

But the hammer sails wide.

Luz Steels himself against Fasiel's words, but gains some insights into the way Fasiel is thinking to pass along to help the party.

Luz then throws his hammer at Fasiel. The blow hits Fasiel and rings his bell. The erstwhile noble staggers with the blow, clearly on his last legs.

Luz throws again but misses.

Slipp, I think you forgot the +1 from Luz's critical RK. At this CP, Fasiel has an AC of 23 and as I stated above, he is flat-footed most of the combat due to using Punishing Strike every round. His effective AC is 21. With the +1 from Luz, you hit with a 21.

Slipp gathers a small ball of fire into their hands and launches it toward Fasiel. Fasiel continues to rant and his head is turned the other way as Slipp's ball of flames catches him in the back of the head and he falls to the ground.

As soon as Fasiel falls, Safa swoops in to stabilize him. He must be brought to the city authorities for trial so he can face mortal justice.

After defeating Fasiel and turning him into the authorities, you return to Venture-Captain Esmayl ibn Qaradi to report on your success. Safa thanks you for helping them stop this evil would-be genie-binder from continuing to bring misery to genies and mortals alike. Safa expresses their desire to continue working with the Pathfinders, finding their time together both entertaining and fulfilling in ways that their meanderings through the ether had lacked lately.

As you congratulate each other on a job well done, a letter arrives. Text below, image in slide 5.

Based on my evaluation of the success criteria, you are good in all areas.

Junior watches Fasiel fall with a satisfying and nerve calming thud. "Great work." Is all he can say before Safa appears with chloroform and a bandaide.

"Legal justice is the best route. The Pathfinder Society isn't a bunch of hired hitmen." He has a slight bit of trouble keeping a straight face after some of the stories he's heard through the grapevine.

"Let's see what we can't do with the prisoners still downstairs?" He suggests, hoping they've been automatically freed with Fasiel's defeat.

He does step back though to let the escape artists help free the prisoners, ready to jump in to heal though if needed.

Looks like I missed the finale of the combat during my vacation :P but looks like Hui Kong wasn't needed. :)

Middling damage. A crit fail would put someone down, but we also didn't put anyone but Nic and Junior in the room to disable the Chains. Nic definitely passes, so he only takes 16 points of damage.

Junior?

Having been freed from the chains, the three prisoners express their gratitude and vow to continue their work against corrupt, evil individuals like Fasiel.

Junior is felled the electric charge that jumps from the chains as Nic deftly disarms them. Safa absorbs the charge that would have hit the prisoners. Slipp was fortunately standing by right outside the room and quick moves to heal Junior before he slides any further toward the Boneyard.

I did notice that Junior rolled a Reflex save instead of a Fortitude, but that still would not be a crit fail, so the result is the same. He is hit for exactly as many HP as he has, so anything that heals him at least 1 HP saves him. I don't have any doubt that would happen well before he hit Dying 4.

I believe that is a wrap. It has been a long set of Scenarios (first post was in October last year, so eight months) and I appreciate everyone being patient and hanging in through the long haul.

Junior tries to hop out of the way but there's no escape. He wakes up scorched but alive "Wow, that thing packs quite the punch. And here I thought we were doing ok." He drinks his supplied potions and sits to clear his head. Well that was dumb. A bit selfless, but certainly dumb.

I blanked and rolled reflex, thinking: trap.. reflex! I wasn't going to challenge fate by reroll a 10 with a hero point, just was hoping to avoid the crit failure. Thank you very much GM, as always, its been a pleasure!
