Hi, Wrong John Silver here. Looks like it's levels 3-5, so Glorin Too-Tall, a human raised by dwarves, should work and be reasonably tanky.
Works for me. Go ahead and fill out a line on the slides for Init and Perception for Glorin, then introduce Glorin in the Gameplay thread.

I have the light spell prepared as a cantrip. Can I use my arcane bond with my staff to cast it as a 3rd level spell?
I think you would need the Heighten Spell metamagic feat in order to raise the level of the spell like that, but I’m not sure that it’d actually have any effect against a natively-higher level spell like deeper darkness. I’d probably allow it to momentarily raise the lighting level in the darkness-affected area, though, if you did have the Heighten Spell feat (one round per heightened light).
Could always fling a fireball.

The darkness will remain for a few more minutes, right?
Can Elemenar tell how long it will take before it fades?
I don't know that Elemenar would know how powerful of a caster the owb was, necessarily, but he does know that the basics of the spell, including that it's (whatever in-character translation of) a 3rd-level spell, and thus that it's going to persist for at least 50 minutes.
