Not answering Sefel's question because the only way to learn is by playing.

That’s fair. I couldn’t shake the feeling I was missing something obvious.

FYI I will be away in nature and unable to post this coming weekend, Saturday 9/13-9/14. I will return and resume posting that Sunday evening (US/Pacific time).

I can do a small retcon. Won't do much other than save Shadow Knight some SP, but that may be helpful.

Hello. This is an FYI that I'll be away in nature starting this coming Friday 10/17, returning Sunday 10/19 when I will catch up and resume posting.
As always my hope is that since this is a weekend the disruption will be minimal to none. Bot as necessary.

We're still waiting on Mordack/TimeKnight? Anybody heard from him in other games?

Sorry, I had read a post and then forgot.

This may be a silly question, but does someone have a plan for finishing this fight? You haven't cracked Purple's regeneration or what is going on with Yellow yet.
Yargnod Kir'eed
Not a silly question at all. The closest thing I have to a plan is spamming the board with area effect weapons hoping we get the witch and cycling through damage types until we figure out the one that shuts down the purple thing's regeneration.

Sefel's plan has become covering rows/columns/diagonals of the map with his line weapon until he finds True Elf. Unfortunately he doesn't have See Invisibility.

Okay, maybe because it is the fact I’m having to post from a phone instead of a computer 50% of the time the past 9 months. But why is it taking forever to kill these things. I read regeneration somewhere, but how much and where cause I seems like a lot. This battle is taking forever

From last gameplay post:
It's, uh, possible I may have forgotten something important that would have affected this battle.
Yargnod notices something out of the corner of his eye. It's another copy of the elf, who is making the exact same gestures as the one along the southern wall. He adjusts his missile blast to target her, then ducks out of the way so Flame Knight can flame her.
I think there's going to be some more progress with this.

Purple thing regenerates and you don't know how to stop it yet.
Yellow thing is not where you thought it was (but you should have noticed it sooner, which I am fixing in a way other than rewinding combat 6 rounds).

[dice=reflex]2d20 +12 to each. So 28 and 16, on a phone will post tommorrow my actions when I can get to a computer
In case this fell off of your radar because the game wouldn't have shown any new messages to read.

Damage types that you know don't deactivate purple's regeneration: bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, fire, cold, electricity, sonic, adamantine.
Sadly, this is not a system where you can just beat it to -9999 HP and leave it to slowly regenerate.
therealthom
I was hoping killing the elf witch would dispel it. Or that it would run out of RP.
Slowly regenerate? It was down at least -45.
Someone's got to have a fire weapon! Or acid?
Or maybe we knock it out and exit through a door, and see if it's smart enough to follow us.
cmlobue
Starfinder doesn't have negative HP. Once it's at 0, it can't go lower. And it doesn't need RP to stabilize as long as it is regenerating.

One, can we run from it and 2, can it fit inside a ship? We get it inside a ship by making it follow us and autopilot that ship to the nearest star. Nothing can be escape the Suns gravity so it might as well be good as dead if it is in the center of the sun. Cause well, I’m out there of ideas.

Plasma cannon is E&F damage
Missile battery is F&P damage.
So... at least half of each of those :D
therealthom
Shoot. Fire was on the 'still regenerates' list. I missed it in my first reading. How about acid?
That brings me to another question. How did we get here? we're surrounded by walls and covered rooms that we've presumably not seen yet. What's our exit route?
cmlobue
Stairs from H3 (not shown on the map, but they are on the left side of the room).

Thank you.
If the mech scans a mech or object, the mech attempts a Computers check; against an unattended mech or object, the DC is 10, and against a wielded object or piloted mech, the DC equals 10 + the target’s tier or item level. If it succeeds, the mech identifies two of the following pieces of information about the mech or object (operator’s choice): its hardness, maximum Hit Points, resistances (if any), EAC, KAC, number of passengers or operators, Strength DC to break, speed, full speed (vehicle only), systems or auxiliary systems, or weapons. For every 5 by which the Computers check exceeds the DC, the mech identifies one additional piece of information.
OLd-fashioned identify creature checks look like the thing to try.
