Mordack Dunstar |
So what happens if the big guys needs to take X damage and you get him to X-1 damage, and then finish him off next round? For example, lets say he nukes you when he has 50 HP. So you leave him at 51 HP and then next round do 51 damage? I know it would be unlikely to do that by accident, but I wonder if Paizo wrote or would write a solution to that. Or did paizo take that into account, so that he can't go from X-1 damage to destroyed, in other words paizo take into account the maximum possible damage you can do in one round so that even if you left him at X+1 HP and did max damage he would still have at least 1 HP.

I am amused that the smuggler's truck is basically a 10' cube based on the dimensions given.
It makes me think of the rash of cube shaped small SUV's that came out a few years ago.
Basically, a bigger version of this - Soul
Which I own only a newer model...
Yargnod Kir'eed |
Those were pretty good and now I'm imagining a pack of Ysoki riding around in one.
But no, my wife bought a Spectra the last year they were made and loved it so much that when she needed a new car, she bought the replacement model, which is the Soul.
Mordack Dunstar |
Not in the city.
Yargnod Kir'eed |
Probably should have had this discussion before the adventure began but Yargnod is not a good person.
My inclination is for him to finish off the two who are down and prep another Supercharge weapon to finish off Kurson as soon as the sphere is dropped.
It's just as easy for me to play him as vicious but willing to follow the group's decision about being merciful. He'll definitely say "I told you so" if Kurson shows up again, but that will just be part of the RP.
Telirix Sporestorm |
No worries. You play Yargnod as you intended. Tel will give him an earfull if anyone dies, but you'll notice Tel's not pulling his punches in this fight either. He could easily kill one of them too in the course of the fight.
He's basically a good guy. All things equal, he wants everyone to live, but we're our team and they're hassling us and they hurt him badly in the first fight. End of the day, it's more important for us to live than them.
Mercy is also a practical concern. From his point of view killing will likely lead to more intense law enforcement.
It's all good fodder for RP.
Mordack Dunstar |
If we don't kill them, we have to keep them prisoner and detain them. They are surrendering, but means watching over 3 people until we can get them prisoned, so Mordack might kill 1 to make the job easier. He's not evil, but a little paranoid about things. Of course he will hide the body that is killed so it isn't discovered.

Feel free to disagree with Tel however you see fit. He plans to humiliate Kurson, by holding their gear hostage, and sending them back to town on foot. Kurson will get all the gear back if he stays out of our way.
This is a terrible plan, but Tel (me) can't think of a better one right now. Oh it's bad for so many reasons. It's mostly likely to goad Kurson into getting backup like a nice big lynch mob in the guise of more deputies.
DG, I do agree that keeping them prisoner will be really annoying and difficult. Yargnod and Mordack could make things much easier for the whole party.
I am open to suggestions.

Hey cmlobue, how conspicuous are the enercycles? Could we ride them out to the arroyo?
Telirix would like one of the pistols from the choice of. While you can have too many guns, that's too fine a sidearm to turn down.
He'd also go for a hardlight handwrap, although Mordak might get good use from it too. And any of the miscellaneous gear you guys don't want.
How would you feel about giving the excess to our hosts as a good will gesture?
cmlobue |
There are not enough enercycles for all of you, and they are not the sort of vehicle that would do well with riding double.
I thought the plan was to give Kurson's gear back eventually, but nothing says you have to.
Yargnod Kir'eed |
Don't know if we're keeping Kurson's stuff or not, but I created a Loot Sheet.
And claimed a battery.

Thought they seated a pilot and passenger, but okay.
Tel did intend to give Kurson's stuff back, just didn't say when. Kurson's still being difficult. So there's no percentage in throwing him his own guns and telling him to run. Maybe when we're ready to leave. Meantime no use in letting it go to waste.
Also didn't say how we'd give it back. Maybe packaged with a pallet of bricks dropped from above?

In any case, your transportation to and from this site is not an issue with this mission and the module does not imagine you taking them.

Tel will grab an efficient bandolier. A 40 charge battery. The grenades. The nanite hypopens, a targeting computer for his armor, the autoinjector, and a 20 charge battery.
Willing to share if anyone wants any of it.

Most are in the room you can't see, though I suppose I should have one chase your new friend out...

Sorry, folks, this one got away from me in a crazy week. And now that I have caught it, I will be traveling and unable to post again until Saturday.

Thanks for letting us know. Safe travels!

Saying "Unibear" reminds me of Commander Mark and the Secret City.
Did anyone else see that show back in the late 70's/early 80's or did it only exist where I grew up?
It was a guy who taught simple drawing techniques for kids.
Sefel Q Lamunesh |
I watched it at a very young age in the US Midwest :) It got me into drawing (particularly perspective drawing) for a time.

The clown from WGN deserves better than having his name be synonymous with foolishness.

After further research, it looks like Bozo was actually a franchise, so just "my" Bozo was WGN.

Hi, guys. Sorry for my absence. Had a big last minute project at work before vacation.
I'm away on vacation until Tuesday the 22nd. Please bot Telirix as needed. As usual, his preference is to talk his way past a fight, but once in one his best weapon is his hail cannon.

This is an FYI that I'll be away in nature this weekend, Sat 8/19 and Sun 8/20. I'll return very late Sunday and likely won't post again until Monday 8/21.

Vacations for all! Sort of. I have a work trip from the 18th to the 25th, but I think we will hit a good point to pause first.

I'm leaving for a business trip today and may not be able to post again until next Friday (the 25th). You will be leveling up at the end of this encounter, so think about what new and shiny powers you want.

FYI: I'll be away this coming weekend starting Friday evening 9/8 through Sunday 9/10 (US/Pacific time). I will have limited access to post from my phone, so I may be able to keep up over the weekend but can't guarantee a post. As it is the weekend, I suspect this won't be very disruptive to the game.
