That's totally fine. I don't expect anyone to be tied down to anything as of yet. We can adjust once selections are made.

I wanted to see if I got an unusual race, but didn't -- I'll leave any potential slot to someone else.

Definitely interested, so I'm looking to see what my race is to inform my submission.

today is the final day, so get 'em in!

Good luck all!

@ djdust - Have fun with the selection process! Although it doesn’t help me I find the idea of an all halfling party interesting.

I thought the deadline was 12/23

Oh jeez, that is what i put, but definitely not what i meant to put. How about giving you the weekend?

You are gracious and magnanimous

@djdust at what point would you like some Crunch?

Asking for a friend....hehe

A week from today is the cutoff. My selection will be based more on personal answers, play history, forum activity than on crunch. Crunch is secondary so don't sweat too much about it. Things are open to change after selection. And we will work on fluff together after selection to help with creating a cohesive group.

You are not imagining things. Here is what you posted last Friday.

I did put 12/23 in the original post. I did mean 12/16, a week and a day after the original post. That was my mistake.

So, new deadline is end of day Sunday 12/18.

Crap! I have been agonizing over eye color! Green? Blue? Purple?

And what color scarf? I mean this is so stressful....

@djdust: I changed Elry's domain to Earth.

@DG: Match the scarf to the eye colour. ;)

Scarf?! I haven't even picked up my backpack! And here the last few grains of sand are about to trickle to the bottom.

Purple is always the correct color, though we may be a bit matchy matchy

Well, his cloak might actually be blue. Yeah, definitely blue.

Today! Sunday Sunday Sunday! Is the officially official last day for entry! Recruitment will close at 12 midnight, US Mountain Time.

Lol, it's mountin' time. Very exciting.

Good luck all.

Good luck to all.

Good luck, we're all counting on you....

Don't Panic! Have your laser handy!

Don't forget your towel!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Let me start off by saying thank you for all who have shown interest and all of those who were able to submit. Let me follow that by saying I really hate doing these recruitments. I wish I had more time to run and play in more games and with more people, and I know that there is the possibility for hurt feelings and disappointment.

In the interest of fairness, and in an effort to be objective, what I did was create a rubric of the qualities I'm looking for. Because of the number of quality submissions, I played around with the idea of two tables of 5, but had to remind myself that a goal with this campaign is to NOT overextend myself, so I had to boil it down to one table of 6.

Those six players will receive a PM invitation shortly once I get the campaign thread set up.

If you do not receive an invitation, I hope there are no hard feelings. Again, thank you all for your interest and enthusiasm. maybe there will be more opportunities in the future. Until then, good luck, take care, and happy gaming!

We are looking to refill some of our ranks. Looking for 2-3 more players. Priority goes to y'all who first applied. Thank you!

Unfortunately I never applied for this the first time, but should you somehow NOT get enough applicants for your party refill, kindly put me on the secondary list. :D

That said, a couple questions:
. What is the current party make-up?
. What level are they?

Still at first level, the campaign should see us to level 5-7. current active players are a halfling bard, halfling rogue, and a human sorcerer. We have a human ranger who is currently indeterminate if he will return.

We lost a human monk and halfling cleric along the way.

We rolled to determine ancestry. See initial recruitment post for build rules.

Seeing as characters were initially from Darkwater Crossing and thus rolled for ancestry based on the demographics of said town, is that still the case? Or can new characters be wandering adventurers from places far afield etc…

Or to put it another way: does a particular player (asking for friend now) returning to the recruitment thread (whether or not they submitted a character) have to reroll their ancestry or can they go with what they rolled?

TL;DR: can I submit my Human Thaumaturge now?

Quote:

Ancestry: As per the demographics of Darkwater Crossing, roll a d100. 1-70 is human, 71-85 is halfling, 86-93 is elf, 94-98 is dwarf, and 99-100 is other (gnome, goblinoid, orc, kobold, ratfolk, catfolk, or tengu).

Just to get the ball rolling, creatively:

Ancestry: 1d100 ⇒ 86
Elf!

Just remembered it was Core only for classes. Unless you *want* to be…elastic… If not, I’m thinking either a Monk or Druid, though I see some healing might not go astray…

Characters being from Darkwater Crossing is still apropriate at this juncture.

If you want to play human I won't make you roll. I'm still myself getting used to the new system which is why I'd like to stick to core for now.

Human it is. Will try and throw something together.

Hey all, how do you guys feel about a dwarf barbarian wielding a giant warhammer type thing. Adventurin's just a job for him you know but he tries to be good at it.

Liberty's Edge

I'd love to throw my hat in if there's a spot.

Liberty's Edge

Now to some background things. I'm 64 years old. Retired. After spending a good deal of time in the army doing army things and even more time later in sales until recently. I live in Phoenix, Arizona.

My role playing background is d&d since 1975 until the edition wars where I moved to Pathfinder. I used to DM a lot until my health took a turn for the worse and I had the year from hell. Now barely dipping my fingers or toes back in (depending on how you look at it)with the idea I only play in a few games so as not to stress myself out too much and get over extended.

If possible I'd stay with the default human instead of halfling and I'd go Fighter as that's more what I think is needed and pf2 is good to fighters.

For myself, I've been playing Pathfinder since 2014 primarily on these boards and started GMing as well, I actually ran a group through the first two of The Darkmoon Value modules a while ago. I also managed to run a full run of Starfinder Dark Suns with an amazing group of players.

I have just now moved out of a self imposed hiatus from PbP due to just being busy with life and restarted a PF2e game I started running. I've just really fallen in love with Pathfinder 2e so I really want to play the game and not just GM.

If y'all can get some builds in the next few days I think we can get things rolling.

Thanks to the miracle of pathbuilder it's just really easy to throw a build together. Do you want me to create an alias? He's a Giant instinct barbarian, total glass cannon.

Backstory is he comes from a clan of dwarves specializing in fine craftsman ship (hence the name Waedin Craftson), but he never had the knack for that kind of detail work, so he became a laborer and then trained to be a fighter to be a guard for his family's concerns.

Since he's in a relatively peaceful community he didn't get any sort of defensive training and just focused on causing as much damage as possible with his long hammer. He realized he's not getting the best training and so decides to get some real world experience.

He's a little sad about not being able to join the family business proper but he's more forward looking than anything else.

Throwing my name in the hat. Looks like you've got enough players now... but I'll throw one together in case you need another in the future.

1d100 ⇒ 23 Ancestry (Human it is)

I've been playing D&D and other rpg's since the mid 70's and have a vast collection of games, accessories both in paper and pdf. I'm 63 and live on Florida's space coast, and work in industrial sales.

Played PF1 but found the bloat and 2nd party releases reduced my enjoyment, so switched to 5E. Still enjoy playing 5E but it gets very stale as the characters tend to be "Stand Alone" instead of part of a party. With WOTC's recent issues I switched to PF2 and absolutely love the consistency and ability to do other things in combat. I'm running a weekly tabletop game, playing in an weekly online one, and have plans to run a second tabletop game after the first of the year.

I'm happy to switch to warpriest as well to shore up the healing side of things.

Here's Dreads submission.

Here is the build link for Travis Meadows. To view this build you need to open it on an android device with version 199+ Pathbuilder 2e installed. https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=503565

Plenty of folks, and I've had a busy spot happen in real life, so any application would be delayed. Consider me withdrawn from this, and have fun people!

You can snap your shield into place just as you would take a blow, avoiding the hit at the last second. You immediately use the Raise a Shield action and gain your shield’s bonus to AC. The circumstance bonus from the shield applies to your AC when you’re determining the outcome of the triggering attack.
Shield Block Trigger While you have your shield raised, you would take damage from a physical attack. You snap your shield in place to ward off a blow. Your shield prevents you from taking an amount of damage up to the shield’s Hardness. You and the shield each take any remaining damage, possibly breaking or destroying the shield.
Attack of Opportunity Trigger A creature within your reach uses a manipulate action or a move action, makes a ranged attack, or leaves a square during a move action it’s using. You lash out at a foe that leaves an opening. Make a melee Strike against the triggering creature. If your attack is a critical hit and the trigger was a manipulate action, you disrupt that action. This Strike doesn’t count toward your multiple attack penalty, and your multiple attack penalty doesn’t apply to this Strike.

Sudden Charge (Flourish, Open) With a quick sprint, you dash up to your foe and swing. Stride twice. If you end your movement within melee reach of at least one enemy, you can make a melee Strike against that enemy. You can use Sudden Charge while Burrowing, Climbing, Flying, or Swimming instead of Striding if you have the corresponding movement type.

Well, that's three character builds submitted, so welcome aboard Stepnik, Travis, and Waedin!

If y'all want to jump in on Discussion and introduce yourselves. And I think we need to decide between Barbarian and Cleric.

Opening up this recruitment once again. We are looking for two good players to join this 2e campaign. We just finished our initial introductory adventure, The Angry GM’s ‘Fall of Silverpine Watch’, and will be starting ‘Crown of the Kobold King’ shortly.

Campaign Setting Info
Available Deities (highlighted green are common for the region)

The new PCs will be starting in the small lumber town of Hearth in the northern reaches of the Silverpine Forest.

We have lost our party fighter and rogue. Please submit your character build at Lvl 2. As per the original recruitment rules, roll % for your ancestry (1-70 human, 71-85 halfling, 86-90 dwarf, 91-95 elf, 96-100 other (gnome, orc, goblinoid, ratfolk)).

Hey there!

I'll throw my hat into the ring. I have a question, however, if I could. At the moment, there is a bard, a cleric, and an alchemist, correct?

Anyway - as per the first post in this thread, something about me:

I am a male, mid 30's, based in what you yanks would probably call eastern Europe. I work in localisation as a freelancer. Long-term relationship, but no children. I have a dog, however - as the late George Carlin would put it: "Cute as a dick."

My history - I picked up PF1e with a few friends shortly after it was released. No prior experience with TTRPGs, but we did do boardgames before that. Some of them with RPG elements. The RPG itch was scratched by PC gaming before we picked up PF, but... I was hooked. We ran a few short campaigns before I decided to sit in the GM chair. I currently run PF1e and PF2e campaigns for a few tables and occasionally play a character when someone else picks up the mantle.

I mostly run games in the Golarion setting, but do my own storylines and arcs. I love the improv and freedom aspect of tabletop, and cherish memories of the resulting shenanigans.

So if you don't mind, I will roll the ancestry now and we'll see if you consider me before I commit to building something. I'll poke my head in this thread in the next few days to see whether I should start building something.

Current party: halfling bard, dwarf cleric, human alchemist, human sorcerer

So you need a frontline. And the bard seems to be considering a switch into a rogue.

I guess I will make a frontline fighter or a ranger, assuming I'm given a green light.
