Both Savan and Jig easily avoid the ants dropping from the trees.

Piercing vs X-23: 1d6 ⇒ 3
X-23 for some reason decides to have the insects as a snack. However, he doesn't close his hatch fast enough and more insects that he can handle drop into Sentinel and begin biting...

Piercing: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Grammy takes some bites but soldiers on. Zarisha easily avoids the bugs. Ecmund suddenly looks up from his book and sees X-23 and Grammy flailing at some of the bugs.
"Oh, be careful. Lots of bugs like living close to the trees. Bullet ants in particular can be pretty nasty. Best stay clear of the tree."
Ecmund lets out a cry of delight. He points to a tree with brilliant red berries hanging from the branches. "Ah! Look at those berries! My guidebook says that those have a soft pulpy interior that's sweet! We should gather some for later!"
Nature to RK. One check only

Grammy rolls her eyes.
"Actually, those berries are toxic unless you put a little druid magic into them. Quite tastey otherwise."
Grammy will cast Goodberry on the berry, converting it into a healthy, nutritious berry that heals 1d6+4 damage, then pops it into his mouth. It also counts as 1/6th of his daily nutritional needs, so one berry should fill him up nicely.
"If anyone else wants one, it'll take a tic for me to coax the magic out of the plant again. Might as well treat those spider bites while I'm at it."
Grammy can attempt a medicine check to heal any of the damage while refocusing to regain her focus point back for another goodberry, if anyone wants to.

Ecmund looks doubtful as he pages through his guidebook, looking for another reference to Grammy in it. Shrugging, he takes the druid's word for it and goes along.
You certainly have 10 minutes to heal if you'd like. Grammy should be back to full. X-23 I think is 3hp short.

After getting healed, you hear a cry of alarm from ahead of them followed by a loud feline growl. Rushing forward, you find a bipedal frog-like creature at the mercy of a large panther.

A sprite suddenly appears in front of you. It glows and speaks:
"I've been sent by the powers that be to inform a certain Zarisha al-Sakawi that she has not completed the insurance form that covers any and all injuries that may occur in the completion of this mission. It's pretty boilerplate stuff and relatively easy to complete. I have the document here with me. Please complete the document before you proceed any further."
| Zarisha al-Sakawi |
"Shoo!" Zarisha says--whether to the sprite or the panther--and throws one of her shuriken at the panther.

X-23 and Sentinel shoot an energy beam in front of the panther and Zarisha hurls a shuriken at the cat. The cat yowls and bolts.
Grammy identifies the creature as a grippli. The grippli introduces himself as Prembret.
"My! That was a close call. Prembret is who I am. I've been trekking through the Sodden Lands to broaden my horizons."
Art on Slide 3
"I'm afraid I'm near the end of my adventure. My camp was overrun by some leeches that may have been attracted by the experimental reagents I'm using. You see, I'm trying to infuse fruits with special properties. Take this, for example. This peach may look like an ordinary peach, but it's got some alchemical properties in it. I can use it to cure minor ailments and injuries. Sadly, though, all this is at my camp. My journal is also in my camp so I'm pretty much back to my starting point."
At this, Ecmund brightens. "Worry not, my new friend! My companions here are hearty adventurers who could easily best these vermin and get your stuff back! In fact, I'm sure it won't be a problem for them! I'd go with them, but someone's got to stay here and keep you safe. No telling if that cat will come back!"
Ecmund lightly pushes Grammy forward. "See? My druid friend here taught me some new things. I chose her to join my party because she's a major contributor to my guidebook! I'm sure she'll help you!"
Prembret brightens. "Will you really? That's wonderful! Here, I have some items for you. These will help you if you are injured." Prembret hands you three large peaches and gives you directions to his camp.
The peaches function like minor elixirs of life. Map is updated.

Sentinel slashes at a leech with some blue in its skin. The serrated edge of Sentinel's weapon easily parts the leech's flesh and nearly slices it in half. It falls back into the water and doesn't resurface.
You recall that leeches are particularly vulnerable to salt.
Jig tries to recall what he knows about leeches. Hoping that they're tasty, he bites the creature holding him. His first attack hits and he comes away with a mouthful of rubbery flesh that's not really tasty.

COMBAT OVER
With the defeat of the leeches, Ecmund and Prembret rejoin you. Ecmund is already thinking of ways to spin this tale into a grand adventure. You all reach Prembret's camp and the pair of new friends cook a celebratory meal for you, smoked sausage and sadza, a mix of dwarf and grippli favorites!
Ecmund and Prembret continue to swap stories over food. One of the more sincere accounts the dwarf shares was his first-time meeting gripplis on board : a magical, grippli-run city-barge currently taking on supplies at Hyrantam. As Prembret’s eyes fill with wonder at the sound of this place, Ecmund decides that bringing his new friend there would generate many more tales than wandering through the jungle.
Ecmund retraces his steps, with you in tow, heading back to the coast with new sodden stories to tell.
