Savan Genieshot |
Well obviously, it's mad now. Marcus is total s+@+ with animals.
Savan yells as the badger bites him as he's drawing his musket. The catfolk spins away, no longer holding back the feeling of the gunpowder in his system. He aims at the badger and one of his eyes turns an icy blue as he pulls the trigger.

Four biomechanical metallic arms come out of a small metal device X-23 keeps strapped to his backside. Two lift him slightly off of the ground, keeping his legs dangling in the air as they other two point towards the threat and begin glowing red hot on the ends.
Sentinel carries X-23 through the cavern as one of the arms thrusts out, slamming its pincer-like claws into the badger as the second arm points towards Baltaram and releases a small burst of fire at the badger.

Grammy is having a bad day
Grammy attempts to disable the snake without killing it but the reptile avoids her attacks. Savan fights off the venom then shoots the snake twice, killing it.
COMBAT OVER
You manage to find a potion buried in the earth close to where the badger was rooting around in. After some study, Grammy realizes that it is a Gecko Potion.
Harvesting Mushrooms: DC 17 Nature/Survival or DC 15 Applicable Lore (if you can make it fit)
Identifying the Mushrooms: DC 15 Nature or DC 12 Lore (if you can make it fit)
Each player can make a check to harvest mushrooms from this area. Crit Fail will destroy the mushroom patch and yield no mushrooms
Jig Gnasher |
"I will guard you as you harvest!" Jig is a bit...indiscriminate about what he eats and would not be the most discerning harvester.
Pretty high chance that I would crit fail on this one, so I'll sit it out.
Grammy Thistledown |
Grammy sighs. "Well, I tried to warn them. Poor animals. At least they weren't plants, that would really upset my order. Oh well their bodies can be used to nurture the soil, so that is something."
Nature for harvesting: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Nature for identifying: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Of COURSE can't roll above a 10
Savan Genieshot |
Savan keeps watch for any other threats. "Go ahead, I'll stand watch."
No Nature or Survival or Applicable Lore (unless you'd allow Warfare Lore as "what soldiers might know while foraging).
Zarisha al-Sakawi |
Zarisha hunches down to inspect the mushrooms and harvest a sample.

GM Tiger |
X23 manages to gather some mushrooms, though none of you know what kind these are.
Not to be outdone, Zarisha also manages to get some 'shrooms.
As you move south, you begin to smell some sickly-sweet odor.
Grammy Thistledown |
Granny will hobble up, still mourning for the snake and badger, and see what she can try to do to figure out what is going on.
Nature and survival are both +7, I assume this is a secret check
GM Tiger |
Grammy Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
You realize the spores are poisonous, but not deadly. All that's needed is to get the humanoid clear of the spores and they should be fine after a few minutes.
Hon Utushi |
Hon, completely out of his element, just stands by Granny, ready to help her with the collapsed man, if there was anything he could do to help. He puts away his sword and the mirror shard. "I can help carry the man if you need someone ot move him, *honored*-Granny"
GM Tiger |
If you need to enter the spore cloud, you can hold your breath for a number of rounds equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier. You can only move 5' per round while dragging another person
Hon Utushi |
Hon reflects himself into the mist holding his breath, and starts to drag the man out of the spore cloud. Should only take 3-4 rounds maximum
Out of the spore cloud, Hon takes a few deep breathes. "Finally got to do SOMETHING today. Any ideas on how to get the spores off my clothes before someone accidentally inhales them?"
Grammy Thistledown |
"Spores are only harmful in large quantities if ya breath them in. Just hold your breath, walk in, and drag 'em out. Not enough should collect on your clothes to do anything too much. Whoever is best at holding their breath, go do it."
Grammy's Con is 12, giving her six rounds. She also has 16 strength for carrying out a body.
GM Tiger |
Hon takes a deep breath and plunges into the cloud. Before long, he and his mirror image haul an unconscious iruxi from the spore cloud. After a few minutes of breathing clean air, she regains consciousness. She starts, looking at you apprehensively, but calms somewhat when she realizes that you just about saved her life.
"I am Kallia. I'm from the Tsikkha enclave. I was exploring these caves looking for new flavors to try. I don't really know what happened, just that I suddenly found myself in a cloud of... whatever that was. This is the only place I've been so I don't know what else is here. If you like, I can help you gather mushrooms.
If you accept her help, you get a +1 bonus to your check to harvest mushrooms. You can gather mushrooms in this area with the same skill check.
GM Tiger |
Added the location of the mushrooms for you to collect. Yes, I know it's the shrieker from B12, but it's the quickest mushroom I can get! :)
DC 17 Nature/Survival or DC 15 Lore to collect samples. You get a +1 if you accept Kallia's help. You can each make a check.
GM Tiger |
X-23 and Grammy manage to get some mushrooms without problems.
If you failed, you'd set off the spores
You proceed to the final area in the Southwest. This area of the cavern expands so that the ceiling is 15 feet tall. The vibrant blue mushrooms in this area grow exclusively on the ceiling.
DC 15 Athletics to climb 5' (10' for a crit). Remember, you also need to make the DC 17 Nature/Survival (DC 15 for Lore) check to harvest the shrooms... You also found something along the way to help you.
Grammy Thistledown |
Without batting an eye, the old woman begins climbing the side of the walls to collect mushrooms like this is an everday thing.

nature with Lizardfolk aid: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17
She gets the mushrooms and climbs down, everyone looking at the old woman who just performed an act of athleticism like that.
"Wha? I'm old, not an invilid. Let's get back to camp, I'm eager to see if this is an invasive species and what we can do to fix the problem here, if any. Gotta keep the plants in line you know. . ."
GM Tiger |
Grammy, the mushrooms are 15' up. Please give me 2 more Athletics checks to climb all the way up. Also there is an easier way (which you found after the ill-fated badger encounter

Sentinel Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 15' up
Taking several attempts and one slip and fall on his backside X-23 manages to get to the top of the small cliff as he rides atop Sentinel and begins grabbing at the mushrooms.
Harvest Mushrooms: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
Savan Genieshot |
Savan retrieves the Gecko Potion. "Maybe this can help you."
GM Tiger |
Savan holds out the potion but X-23, after a few attempts, manages to scale the cliff, leaving Grammy behind. They get to the top and harvest a healthy sample of mushrooms.
Returning to the camp, you present your samples to Urwal, who is thrilled at your efforts.
"Well done! If you're ever looking for more adventure, the Pathfinder Society would gladly have you. Other faction leaders are also looking for adventurers so you might try asking them!"
Turning to Kallia, Urwal offers her a place in the Pathfinders but she demurs and departs, after thanking you again for saving her life. Urwal hands each of you 4gp as your reward and directs you to the healers tent to get you patched up.
~~Fin~~
Please take this moment to complete the Macros/Slides/RPG Chronicles for B15 (assuming you'll be using a different character)
Hon Utushi |
Hon, having missed he'd be useful, reflects himself up onto the cliffs and ties a rope, gladly taking any samples of the mushrooms from anyone who wants their hands free to climb down. He reflects himself and the samples to the bottom and back up to retrieve his rope. "Never waste good rope!"
GM Tiger |
I'll go ahead and post the intro. Feel free to introduce yourselves
Your adventure begins in Ravounel’s capital city of Kintargo as you cross Bleakbridge, the bridge that connects the northern and southern halves of the city and also serves as a thriving hub of commerce. The marketplace’s slender, wooden storefronts dissipate into tents and pop-up vendors. As you pass a lively tavern called Clenchjaw’s, you spot a sandwich board sign with the silhouette of a swashbuckling figure with silver ravens flying behind them.
"Fortune and glory await daring adventurers. Ask Laela Vost about exciting opportunities. Experience on boats and at sea is a bonus!"
Jig Gnasher |
Jig is in his element! Ravounel has always been one of his favorite cities. "Ah, time for some nice relaxing boating. And sounds like it will be profitable, too. That's the best combination!"
Jig Gnasher |
"What?! This place is lousy with nature!" Jig points at a passing stray dog. "I just saw a rat over there, and there's definitely something growing on the fruit at that stall."
Jig takes in a deep breath. "And the smell of...well, something? Is it fish? Yesterday's stew? Hot garbage? Who can say! Nothing like a port for interesting odors."
Grammy Thistledown |

"Young man, just because there are animals and . . . fungus growing doesn't make this nature. There's no Golarion-mother here . . . the . . . well the spirit of nature cannot penetrate this deeply into the city. It is hard to explain to a non-druid. Primal energy doesn't . . . permeate here."
Zarisha al-Sakawi |
"Oh, yes! Adventure, glory, and exciting opportunities!" Zarisha reads with a smile. "Much better than mud or rainy mountain trails." She glances over at Jig and Grammy's conversation. "I must agree with Jig. The stones are cut, yes, and the wood shaved, yes, but there's natural life all around us. Pigeons, rats, bugs--!" She swats a mosquito feeding on her neck as if to punctuate her point.
Savan Genieshot |
Savan growls as he spots a rat darting between the stalls. "I don't know about nature, but there's the elements here." He traces a stone on the building as he feels the wind whip through the alley.
"A boat is doable. Maybe there will be fish."
