As far as I can tell, the loot sheet was up to date before I took over. I did not add the recent loot to the list, it's just that Riley Kels has been looted once before.
But I notice that all of 1 item has actually been claimed and it's still not on that character's sheet. XD
There's a cloak of resistance and a bag of holding that no one can be bothered to carry around, for crying out loud! =P
So you guys have a week to look over the stuff, claim what you want, record it on your sheets and then whatever is left will be magically transmuted into gold by your friendly neighborhood fence. That gold will then be divvied and maybe you will actually have an inkling of what you have to spend on gear you actually want and will use.
Then this loot sheet will go the way of the unwanted loot and descend to the 9th level of the Hells. Did I mention that I hate loot tracking? 'Cause I hate loot tracking... and spreadsheets. >.<
Double posted because we flipped to a new page and I want to be sure everyone sees this.

-The Shrike- |

As such I have little interest in spreadsheets in my free time, but it has proven to be the best method for loot tracking in PBP... But if we can magically turn unclaimed into gold, I guess it'll be fine. We just need to divide the spoils immediately.
Speaking of which... listing items of interest here, and marking also the ones I have interest in with (*) I don't know how to decide who gets what.

Cloak of resistance +1 (*)

I have indeed seen some awe-inspiring loot tracking spreadsheets. Like this one, designed by a brilliant Brazilian accountant whom I had the pleasure of playing alongside for three years in a Kingmaker PbP. It used a party gold system to keep everything fair and balanced, so it was easy to swap things around among the group when we got better gear and still know how much each character had available to spend when we could shop for new stuff.
Unfortunately, I am not spreadsheet savvy. I saved a copy of said sheet and offer it up for someone else to copy and use if they wish. It's a little over my head.
This loot sheet here is pretty basic and has apparently just been collecting stuff for dealing with later indefinitely. All the more recent magic items hadn't even been identified. If we were playing live, the back and forth of finding loot, identifying and distributing or selling would be fine. Here, it's just going to keep be shoved to the back burner and promptly forgotten or slow us down. So I prefer to streamline the process.

Guillaume Coeur-de-Lion |

I want one of the bows, but since none of them are composite I'm not sure it matters which, really. I can *use* any of the other weapons, and having a variety of damage types never hurts, but I'm not super attached to anything in particular. As the big strength score guy, if y'all want me to take the Bag of Holding I will (I know strength doesn't matter for it specifically, but pack mule gonna pack mule). Might be best to distribute the CLW potions, but leave one with the healer so we can rouse him if he drops. Everyone taking an alchemist's fire makes sense to me. Nothing else stands out as something I care about/can use. (I mean, I could use an invisibility potion, and the big tiefling bloodrager walking around invisible is a funny image, but others would probably get more use out of it.)

-The Shrike- |

I agree, bag of holding should go to the pack mule :)
It's quite heavy for a low str characters, anyway.
Maybe the crossbow should go to someone without proficiency with bows?Fellzir, unless he has MW already?
Me and Guillame can roll who gets longbow and who shortbow :)

Aurelius Flavius |

I would be taking a crossbow. Omdura doesnt have martial, I only have the bastard sword because its my deities favored weapon.
Its also a reason why I dont pack a polearm.

bluedove |

Good progress on divvying the loot! Fellzir does indeed already have a Masterwork Crossbow of Doom.
Concerning the Cloak of Resistance, it's often considered best for the party that such items go either to your healer to ensure he is still on his feet by the end of the combat, or to the party member you least want to see turned against the rest of you. (ie; the burly fighter with the low will save)
As heavies go, Guillaume is a less susceptible to mind-altering affects due to the virtue of being an outsider. Aurelius loses this particular benefit as he "passes for human". Given that he can also heal in a pinch, he might be a good choice for the cloak.
The Whip Feather Token is a fun little one-use item. I can have Cimri carry it if no one is interested.

bluedove |

We can go ahead with the next combat when you guys are ready. Fellzir might still be travelling.
We are having thunderstorms, which often leads to power outage. Hopefully not, though!

Fellzir the Mysterious |

Yeah, still on work travel. Checking in daily, though.
It makes me so happy that others are calling it the Crossbow of Doom.
Fellzir would love to have the cloak, just to feel empowered and to maybe stay on his feet longer in case the others need healing. It makes sense for the guy that kicks down the door, though. He's usually the first one to get blasted.
We should "practice" with the wand a few times before we go into the next encounter, unless it's round/level.

bluedove |

We should "practice" with the wand a few times before we go into the next encounter, unless it's round/level.
The wand is 1 minute per level, so probably still best to wait until you've made the next platform. Sheild of Faith is a cleric spell, so no need to jump through hoops to activate it.
Based on discussion, this is what I have down so far. I know The Shrike expressed interest in the Cloak but maybe will be happy to let Fellzir wear it?
More goodies will be up for grabs soon, provided you survive... of, course. XD

It might be a good idea to spoiler any Before the Crossing dialogue so as not to confuse the current events. If he wishes to, Guillaume may simply coup de grace Riley to kill him, no rolls necessary.

Aurelius Flavius |

I had a lot of things to do over the weekend, normal posting will resume on monday evening my time.

-The Shrike- |

Yikes, magus with battleaxe? that's unusual... but effective, it seems
Can I strike at her from where I'm currently standing, or do I need to stand in the doorway?

bluedove |

Yes, you can attack her from your position. I had Cimri do so, she just didn't hit. She should probably technically have cover, but as I have mentioned, I find the cover rules annoying. And frankly, she will be hard enough to hit as it is.
Give her Hell! Pun intended. ^_~

Fellzir the Mysterious |

I don't think I need a whole round to bluff, but I'm ok with putting everything into that one roll. Fellzir could menacingly draw his short sword too, I suppose.

bluedove |

Your loot! Get it while it's hot!

I'm taking teenagers to Six Flags tomorrow, so keep me in your thoughts and prayers, lol! XD
I probably won't be able to update again for 48+ hours. Don't forget to claim loot from the post above!

Fellzir the Mysterious |

Interested in the chain shirt, but that doesn't seem fair. The mw short sword would be an improvement.
What is snapleaf?
Which Six Flags?

-The Shrike- |

Fellzir the Mysterious |

Aurelius? Everything ok? I'm going to bot a roll for you, but I don't know what loot you want.
Knowledge Local for Aurelius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Doing the minimum required I am.

bluedove |

Which Six Flags?
The OG in Arlington, TX. Which was a little disappointing, frankly. They took down the cable cars which carried you from one side to the other so you could see the whole park from on high. The train that runs the perimeter was out of commission as were several classic rides.
It did not hold a candle to the golden memory of the Astroworld from my youth. Rest in peace, old friend. *sniffle*
But I'm still proud of myself. Footsore and overheated, I hung in there until the kiddos called it quits. And then drove us home while they passed out in the back like I was their Uber home from the bar. XD
And then today I got my Property Tax Appeal approved, so Hail the Conquering Hero! ^_^

Yeah, I think The Shrike would make better use of the +1 chain shirt. Does Fellzir already have Mwk chain shirt? If not maybe he'd still get an upgrade if takes The Shrike's cast off? I can't see Fellzir's gear because, well, he didn't list it on his profile. =P
Edit: Oh, and were we leaning toward trying to rest before engaging with the rest of the Court of Spears? Has Fellzir exhausted his healing?

We use to go to Six Flags Over Texas every summer when I was a kid. Switched over to Branson for a while when I was a teen, but went to SFOT one last time the summer before my senior year of high school. I doubt it'd hold up if I went back, but I'd still take it over Disney any day of the week.
As for gear, Guillaume could probably use the cloak of resistance, and wouldn't mind upgrading from his mwk shortbow to a mwk longbow. Nothing else jumps out at me.

Truer words were never spoken, my friend. I'd have to win a paid trip to Disney to ever bother with it again. Universal was pretty cool though.
I just have to limit theme parks in the summer. And/or spring for the line skip features. I melt like an ice cream cone on the hot asphalt. XD
Go ahead and add those to your sheet, Guillaume. Well earned, I would say.

Aurelius Flavius |

As an Euro dude, I have limited idea as to what you are talking about, but I have a steadfast resolve to never go to any disneyland ever, for any reason.

bluedove |

Remember that we have some decisions to make before I can move us forward:
1) Rest or press on with clearing the Court of Spears
2) Kill these captive NPC's or save them for later
3) Provoke Losoni by harming the Titan Aspen tree or leave them be (thus avoiding combat with him entirely)
4) Claim your loot! It's already been a week since I posted it so I will allow until Monday before the Loot Fairy will transmute any remainders into gold.
Please indicate a vote on each choice, either in character or out.

-The Shrike- |

The Shrike takes the +1 chain shirt, and Guillaume the cloak, fair deal?
And if no one claims the snapleaf, I can take that as well.
My votes:
1) press on
2) save the npcs for later (good to have hostages)
3) leave them be

Fellzir the Mysterious |

Sure, Fellzir can take the MW chain shirt that The Shrike takes off and the MW short sword. He would also enjoy the oil of animate rope for tying up the next feisty spellcaster that's within rope range. We can sell that spellbook for a fair amount unless this junior wizard comes to work for us.
Is the MW battleaxe any use for Guillaume?
So sorry about the profile. I will get on that. I'm also proficient in laziness and procrastination.

Aurelius Flavius |

We can partly retcon aurelius conversion efforts. He rolls meh currently, but he has some cards left to play.
In particular that "hmm, yes, we can consider killing that hag" as well as a total absence of torture, probably wasnt what that guy expected upon capture by Chelaxians.

bluedove |

All loot claims sound good. One clarification: the spellbook is Siova's not Rhysack's. He is a Witch, not a Wizard. His biggest remaining moves are ray of enfeeblement (DC 14), and his hexes (evil eye [DC 14, –2, 6 rounds], flight, ward [+2]). And his, um, sling. W00t!

bluedove |

Yes, he has a familiar, but does not use the owl in combat.

I'm proficient, sure, but I've already got a mwk Bardiche, mwk Longbow, mwk Morningstar, two daggers, two throwing axes, and a quiver of arrows. I'm running out of places to put more weapons! Though since the bardiche is a reach weapon, I guess a non-reach slashing weapon does fill a void, so I can take it if no one else does.

bluedove |

Went to look at liquidating loot and realized that if Rhysack and Siova are retained and put to some use, they will need at least some of their stuff. So putting a pin in that for the moment.
Cimri will hold onto anything unclaimed and everyone adds 15 gold to their total, just divvying what was already coin.

The Archon is positioned on the platform where the bridge connects, physically blocking access with his person. So options are to pass through his square, which provokes an AoO, or jumping from the bridge, which also provokes and runs the risk of a (3d6 dmg) fall.
So it would be one fairly high acrobatics check to safely move through the Archon's square as he isn't a Combat Reflexes sort of Hound. Or two slightly lower difficulty checks, one to jump(first), one to avoid the AoO(second). Also if you fail to avoid the AoO, taking damage might cause you to fall as well. Also, acrobatics DCs increase by 10 if you don't have at least 10 feet of running start. So, decisions, decisions!

Guillaume Coeur-de-Lion |

The Archon quickly releases his hold on the greatsword and it clatters to the platform floorboards.

G should be good, I mean... *cough* evil enough due to the DR negating effects of Smite. Aurelius is up!
Alas, only if our magnanimous and kind GM is feeling especially generous. The tiefling racial smite ability is rather more limited (I fact I only recalled when I doube-checked while posting that post.) Here's the full text:
Once per day, a tiefling with this racial trait can smite a good-aligned creature. As a swift action, the tiefling chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is good, the tiefling adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to attack rolls against the target and gains a bonus on damage rolls against the target equal to her number of Hit Dice. This effect lasts until the first time the tiefling successfully hits her designated target. This racial trait replaces fiendish sorcery and the tiefling’s spell-like ability.
Nothing in there about ignoring DR, and I don't even get multiple hits! Guillaume does not lack for confidence, that's for sure, but he might need to take an Antipaladin dip.

bluedove |

Well, you may find me to be a little generous then. As it's specifically called a Smite, which rules-wise refers to the Paladin/Antipaladin class feature: "Regardless of the target, smite good attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess." That's what a smite does as far as I'm concerned. Otherwise, why not just list the situational bonuses.
I did miss the bit about it only applying to one successful hit, usually a smite lasts until the target falls. Make it a count! ^_~

-The Shrike- |

That is the same version of smite used in celestial/fiendish template creatures (important if someone uses summon spells). It might change the power levels a bit if they bypass DR...
And on the matter at hand... I don't suppose Guillaume has improved bull rush etc? Getting past the hound with acrobatics is pretty hard.

bluedove |

Hmm, well I am running a summoner now and in a game with another one so maybe I'll change my mind after I review it more. For now, I'll stick with that it bypasses DR.
Go figure, on my IRL game day, all my PbP games exploded with posts... Except this one! =P
I'm zapped though, so I'll give Aurelius till I can update tomorrow to post his action or I'll delay him. He doesn't appear to have access to anything like mage hand or else I would have considered Fellzir's suggestion as a player bot.
Remember I'm happy to have you guys choose actions for an absent player! Better you than me! XD

Fellzir the Mysterious |

Maybe have him cast Daze, DC 14? Is Hound -2 because of the hex?
His player is really strong, so I bet he'll be back shortly.

Too many HD for Daze.
The Hound is both Hexed (-2 AC) and Shaken (so -2 on pretty much everything else).

bluedove |

Does G get an AoO because of the bull rush? (Asking for a friend)
Lol! Yes, just edited that in. XD
Edit: The Shrike may get one too, though it's unlikely to do him much good.

bluedove |

So I had an inkling that you guys seemed to be going into this encounter a little underequipped. After doing a little campaign encounter inventory, I can see why. Your group appears to have been... we'll call it nudged toward the Court of Spears rather than returning to Longacre and participating in some of the more lucrative encounters. By my count, you've been shortchanged as much as 1500 gp as a group. >.<
We could spend a little time tying up loose ends when we return to Longacre. I think at least one of those encounters bears playing out even though the Court really serves as the end of The Hellfire Compact's plotline.
It's also worth considering if you want to wrap it here or continue on into Wrath of Thrune. There is a distinct change of tone from book 1 to 2, where you lose the status of lawful enforcers and switch tactics to become spies, infiltrators and saboteurs working behind the scenes. Some of you are already suited to the task, others might wish to adjust skillsets.

-The Shrike- |

More loot. How to share? Potions to Guillaume and Fellzir, scroll to Fellzir, sell the elven curve blade?
I'm good for tying loose ends (although came in just before the Court of Spears, so clueless about anything in Longacre)
Also, in the long run I need to figure out ways to overcome DR of celestial enemies, I think...
