Well. if there's time to craft, of course a Dex belt would be lovely.
I'm mainly putting gold towards +1 weapon and cloak of resistance
bluedove |
Apologies for letting you guys stew on the backburner for a bit. I was a little preoccupied getting everything ready for the Gameday.
Looks like we're still waiting for G-man to finish his 4th level and then we'll be ready to proceed.
Guillaume Coeur-de-Lion |
Sorry, yeah, I'm good. Going to spend a couple of k on enhancing these lovely new armor and shield, then maybe get an Efficient Quiver so I have somewhere to put this armory I'm hauling around.
Also, I have a lightly used set of scale mail and a (non-masterwork) bardiche to drop into party treasure.
bluedove |
Yeah, looks like the sheet is level 3, as well. Next encounter is still in Longacre, so I'll start work on that and maybe we'll all be ready by the time I get it posted.
Guillaume Coeur-de-Lion |
I do. Thanks for the reminder. Can you craft a Hat of Disguise? Might be useful if "large tiefling bloodrager" is a bit conspicuous in some of our upcoming missions.

Yes I can! That's right in my wheelhouse. Shall we say 1350 gp and you pick the color?
-The Shrike- |
Travelling and really exhausted right now, so I might be able to create a sensible post only tomorrow. But does the window have panes or could The Shrike shoot through the window?
bluedove |
The Ash House is sort of a burnt-out ruin to begin with, but as the party stayed here for the majority of book 1, we can assume that some minor repairs were affected to the rooms the party used. We'll say part of the window is broken and has only been loosely patched with waxed paper. So it will be easily removed and then yes, he can fire through it.

Looking at the map, yeap, hitting rhona with it, if it works she will probvoke from Cimri and G-Man.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Sorry for my delay here, guys. Dealing with pain from multiple sources and not feeling well to boot. >.<
Guillaume Coeur-de-Lion |
Guillaume feels an unseen and impatient hand moving him five feet to help promote flanking and then pushing his new sword forward.

Impatience is seldom rewarded.
Hope you're ok, G.
Yeah, sorry. Just busy.

It seems the game has come to a bit of a halt. Should we keep a hiatus for everyone to get better and/or catch up with life, and decide a date to come back?
bluedove |
I will confess to feeling less motivated/engaged by this game as of late. I'm also uncertain of how well we will transition to book 2 but still willing to keep at it if you guys are.

And is this due to the gameplay losing it's momentum, or some other/personal reasons? Just trying to figure out how we can keep the game going on - I'm still interested in continuing.
(In the only AP I've actually finished in PBP we did keep some breaks from time to time, when the posting frequency seemed to fall too much. Maybe it worked since we managed to finish)
bluedove |
A little of both. But a break from this game wouldn't really do much since I have other games to tend to.
Hopefully the reset of book 2 will be enough to shake things up and make them more interesting. It will be more rp heavy as opposed to combat heavy so that will be a change up.
Aurelius Flavius |
Yeap, something else that tends to work is group initiative (all players go, all enemies go), but it can go both ways.
bluedove |
Going to wait for at least one more player to weigh in on execution as the current two opinions don't seem to be in agreement yet.
bluedove |
Do you guys want to head left or right?
Also I made a recruiting post for some reinforcements in our new digs in Book 2. Feel free to chime in if you want.
-The Shrike- |
I was planning to follow Siova. But if he doesn't have any particular direction, I'd go 1: left, 2: right: 1d2 ⇒ 2 => right.
And looks like the recruitment post is attracting attention, good job!
-The Shrike- |
@GM: What's your take on the new applicants so far? IMHO either Sercrutio Leroung or Charles Beecroft could fit what I feel the group of missing.
Not knowing what challenges the next book will bring, of course.
Fellzir the Mysterious |
Looks like there was some sort of posting issue. I posted outside the cave that Rhysack should cast Light on Siova so the two of us could see and maybe it would hinder the hag's vision if she wasn't prepared for a bright light walking into the cave.
Shrike seemed to have read it because he mentioned the fact that I couldn't see, but the message is gone now and bluedove clearly didn't read it, because she had all of us walk into the cave in the dark. I hate rewinding, but this is a pretty significant difference. Rhysack should have cast something and Fellzir would have cast something.
Ugh.

That is unfortunate, but I don't think much would change had we done it the way you suggest. The presence of Light doesn't impair darkvision and if it did, it would adversely effect most of the party. Even assuming Shield of Faith, Rhysak would still be caught and killed.
I think The Shrike was responding to Rhysak speaking about his inability to see but he'll have to confirm or deny that himself. I definitely did not see the post you describe so I acted on the plan that was presented. I feel I gave ample opportunity to plan ahead. I'll allow retroactive buffs but I'm not going to retcon.
I felt it was important to demonstrate the Hag's abilities before you fully engage her, so I did. You can certainly withdraw and leave Siova to her fate. For future issues, I can offer to set up a Discord sever for the campaign as questions and tactical planning are often faster and easier to address on that platform.
-The Shrike- |
No, I didn’t see Fellzir’s post. As GM suspected, my comment was response to Rhysak.
Paizo boards are known to eat posts (not so much nowadays as some years back), that could have happened. For retroactive light buff, maybe light could have been cast in some item that was put in a back, etc?
Fellzir the Mysterious |
Fellzir casts Blessing of the Watch (4 hour duration) on everyone. (+1 to hit) Then Magic Weapon on Guillaume's blunt weapon (4 minutes) and finally Light on a leaf that he tucks in his belt. He will enter the cave last so as to not interfere with sneaky Darkvision teammates.

Sounds good! The party's turn is up for combat, The Shrike has delayed to wait for a flanking partner to step in first, so looking for actions from our Frontliners.
I'm also selecting our new players today. I'll direct them to this discussion thread to start working out the logistics of their backgrounds.
Did we want a Discord server? It can be handy for when the Paizo boards have a case of the hiccups, but certainly not a necessity.

Soon after beginning its crusade against Thrune dominated Cheliax, the Glorious Reclamation set its eyes on Kantaria, one of Cheliax’s most sacred Iomedaean sites. For weeks prior to its assault on the city, the Glorious Reclamation worked in secret with Fourth Sword Knight Oppian Nevilindor, Kantaria’s highest ranking priest of Iomedae, and thus enacted a relatively bloodless takeover of the town. The knights and their priestly allies quickly rounded up most of the loyalist Thrune elements in Kantaria (including a pair of visiting Hellknights of the Order of the Rack), freed the town’s resident slaves, and instituted immediate reforms in line with the teachings of Iomedae. Oppian’s appointment as the town’s official governor, advised by a supporting council drawn from local citizens, assured the people of Kantaria that the Glorious Reclamation had the best interests of the just at heart.
You are associates and recent employees of Loredana Viorica and under her advice, have kept your political leanings to yourself. Imagining themselves your liberators, the Glorious Reclamation has little reason to suspect where your true loyalties lie. A fact which, Loredana assures you, will prove advantageous in the days ahead. Loredana has provided you room and board at the Little Uskwood Inn in exchange for your services to discourage any looters during the upheaval.

I will be spending the rest of today setting up this profile to be informational and easy to navigate.
That said, GM, I noticed something about my damnation feats sponsor that might prove a wrench (or not) in the zebub plan.
This evil outsider patron must be favorably disposed toward the character and must have a number of Hit Dice equal to or greater than her character level.
If there is anything else you need of me, please let me know.
bluedove |
And Salutations to you both. Welcome, welcome!
< I will be using this portrait for Loredana Viorica since it's close and I couldn't find her actual art on the boards.
@Sercrutio, a zebub has 4 HD, so he will suffice for now, though only just. You most likely met Razelago through Loredana as he is the go between for Achbaron Fex and checks in with her for intelligence on Kantaria. He will likely trade your contract to a more powerful devil when it is time for you to level up. You'll have to let me know if you have any preference and send your letter to Asmodeus Claus telling him just how naughty you've been. XD

Hi, my posting had a bit of a lulch due to private life (need a new job which isnt great), but ti will pick up now.
bluedove |
Looks like this combat will take a bit yet, so let's figure out a book 2 prequel for our new friends too. Want to defend the Inn from some rioters? Start some in character RP? Let me know and I'll set it up!
Sercrutio Leroung |
I'm down for some prequel RP. It'll help me find the personality of the character. In the beginning, my character isn't going to be overly effective in combat. It is part of both the character growth and the available spells.
Also, my character will be casting blood money, followed by visualization of the mind every evening before rest.
