Sully (CG male shirren) is an elderly veteran of the war against
the Swarm, and your PCs are old friends/relatives of his. He has called you to Khefak Depot on Akiton to help him in his new endeavour.

He has paid for you all to travel to Maro, a bustling metropolis clinging to one side of a massive chasm known as the Edaio Rift.

You all get picked up by a driver, a friendly shirren called Chaactrimei (NG male shirren), and you leave the trench city in a single land vehicle.

It will take several days to grind eastward across the planet’s dusty, red rocks. Chaactrimei has transported folks all across Akiton, so he can answer questions you might have about the planet.

"So, I got to ask, what are you all doing here? And how do you know Sully?" Chaactrimei asks as you all pile into the car.

Feel free to introduce yourselves, and explain how exactly you got to Akiton, and ask any questions you want.

An elderly Hortus (mushroom-person) steps into the vehicle and sits down comfortably in the middle. He is wearing an workers-overall over his Hidden Soldier Armor, which snugly fits his pudgy body.

"Thank you, young man." Boccos says slowly. "My name is Boccos. I came to your planet to visit an old acquaintance of mine named Sully. I do not know what he needs help with, but I'll try to be of assistance."

"As to how I know Sully? Well that is an old, yet short story. I met Sully on Castrovel, when he called for simple maintenance work to be done on his building. I did what was requested and I fixed his enercycle lift, but Sully wanted to know how I did it. I told him that it was the secret of the trade, but he didn't like that answer. So he kept calling me over for various maintenance jobs, so he could watch me do it. He never figured it out though."

Boccos then looks a bit guilty. "The reason for that is simple though... I also don't know how I do it... I merely shake my head at the problem and let my spores do the rest... It is about time I just told Sully this, as neither of us is growing any younger. Don't want the mystery to remain unsolved..."

Laurel's LFAN tendrils assist her as she climbs her way onto the seat near Hortus. At the very comfortable height of 14in (35.5cm) she stands up on the seat and quickly looks for any levers to adjust the straps to fit over snugly.

She appears as mostly green Raxilite with a small bunch of pink and white flowers on the center of her head. Like all Raxilites, a flurry of mechanical tendrils come out of her spinal column that interact with the mechanisms of the vehicle. Though, she also wears a laurel crown upon her head that looks to be made of a strong metal, and tinted green. The metallic crown is stuck into her head much like most cybernetic implants and two cords run down the sides of it and wrap around her small arms, occasionally flashing up holographic displays and readouts.

Eventually she finds the mechanism on the side of the chair and readjusts the seat to accommodate her size. "I'm Laurel Parker, a newly certified doctor of Cybermedicine! My family developed the technology for the LFAN a few generations ago and I've been wanting to carry on in the biotech field since I was very young. But I figured that if I wanted to study into the LFAN more I should spend some time out of system where we needed the tech to interact with bigger things and all. So, I studied for my undergraduate degree on Castrovel and it just so happened my apartment all throughout college was just one block from Sully and his cycle shop. I'd see him just about every day on my way to classes and we talked often enough that I consider him a good friend!"

Laurel pauses, looking up at the air and thinking over her words for a moment. "As to why I'm here. Well... despite all that I haven't heard from Sully since I moved back to Raxil and finished up my doctoral studies. Then suddenly, a couple weeks ago he contacts me out of the blue saying he heard I finally got to be a doctor and he could use the help of one out here. I couldn't say no to that kind of a request after so long, so here I am!"

Ariant rolls his first set of paradoxes to prepare for the day. paradoxes: 1d20 ⇒ 171d20 ⇒ 201d20 ⇒ 2

What appears to be a crystalline humanoid, floats up to the car. They have a flower growing on their shoulder. While most won't notice, a clever observer or someone especially familiar with them, might note that the flower is actually a Raxilite trying hard not to be seen as such. This careful observer might even notice that the Raxilite is wearing a second skin armor under their camouflage.

A voice can be heard coming from them. Hello, i'm Zebitzu. I'm here to help my good friend Sully get settled in his new living arrangements. We are friends from long ago while we were in school. He asked me for help with getting settled here, and to see his new home.

If you make a Sense Motive check opposed by this bluff check you might get more insight into what they are saying. bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

success:
Ariant, speaking as Zebitzu, came up with this story on the spot. And seems to not want to give away too much about his real past. However it does seem like they are friends, and he's here to help moving in.

the real story:
In reality Ariant was friends with Sully before he started hiding his identity. He was a frequent customer on behalf of The Gap Recollective. They were studying some property of hover certain hover engines, that they believed were somehow important to solving the secrets of The Gap.

Laurel takes a look over at the strange creature climbing into the opposite side of the door, with wide eyes. "Oooh how exciting, I've never seen a creature of this kind before!"

Though, while looking it over she notices a bundle of flowers and metallic vines matching her own species and takes a long hard thought over the words of who she is actually talking to.

Sense Motive just for funsies, I guess: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Her face contorts for a moment and she opens her mouth to say something, but quickly closes it again, and instead turns to her holographic display, taking note of something else instead.

Stuffing themselves into the whole backseat is a Kiirintas and a creature that could only be a crocodile. The Kiirintas is darkly colored, which sets her apart from her usually more brightly colored bretheren.

"Good day to you all. Im Sollanaceae, and this is Mr Bites. Normally we serve as protectors on Absalom stations, keeping the hidden levels safe. However, Sully has been a good ally, so I can not deny them aid."

Boccos extends a hand to everyone else for a firm yet slow handshake. "It is nice to meet all of you. Any friend of Sully is a friend of mine. And it seems we are a colorful bunch! Boccus slowly chuckles, as if he made a funny joke.

He then looks at Mr. Bites with a bit of worry. "Miss Sollanaceae, Mr. Bites isn't a nibbler, is he? Not that my old frame can't regrow some missing parts, no not that... It is more that old Hortus tissue can be poisonous for ingestion. Good survival tactics during evolution, now a bit of a menace towards pets..."

As everyone has a nice conversation, Boccos suddenly thinks of something. He looks towards their driver and asks: So mr. Chaactrimei, do you actually know anything about the area that Sully lives in? Any nice environments, or something nice to do? I actually don't know anything about Sully's living place."

As Boccos inquires, he looks around and tries to make sure that Mr. Bites chompers aren't anywhere near him. Realizing his pudginess, he also tries his best not to press anyone else against the vehicle walls. He looks around concerned and then addresses Dr. Laurel Parker: "Dr Parker, you just mentioned that you are a cybermedicine doctor, right? I myself do not really know what that entails, but can I ask if you are able to treat Mr. Bites in case he nibbles on me? Creatures can get quite sick you see, and I do not want to see the animal suffer because of it."

Sollanaceae sits on Mr Bites head to save space in the vehicle. Her light frame does not seem to bother the crocodile at all.
"Oh no, Mr Bites is very well behaved, trained especially to keep the vampire threat at bay from Absalom station. He would not attack unless ordered or provoked."

Laurel turns to Boccos and then takes a good long look at Mr. Bites. "Well, being honest I've never seen an animal quite like that one, but he certainly looks healthy! As for if I could treat it... well I'm no toxicologist but given a proper supply of antidotes and some a bit of time to look him over I could treat Mr. Bites just as well as the rest of you, I think." She smiles and pats the creature on the head with one of her LFAN tendrils, unperturbed by its massive size and power compared to her own.

Chaactrimei nods along as he keeps driving the taxi.

"Maintenance work you say, very interesting, might find a lot of that style of work here as well if you're interested!" he says, answering Boccos. "The place you're going is the Khefak Depot, it lies at the centre of sprawling fields of wrecked Starships! It used to be a ranch for Khefaks, but now it's a place full of Junk, commonly called Junker's Delight. It's a now a tourism and expedition business, from hotels and restaurants to guided tours and junk-hunting expeditions! Plenty of options for all"

"Ah that's very nice Doctor, always nice to see friends everyday, and meeting back again after a while!" Chaactrimei turns his attention to the Doctor.

"A school friend? Wow that is a long time, I'm glad you're finally catching up, I seem to be forever stuck in the age-old, "let's sync diaries"" Chaactrimei says wistfully, shaking his head.

"Ah, a protector of Absalom, that sounds important and valuable! I'm glad Sully has a friend like you, I doubt you'll find my trouble here however. But if you do, Sully will be glad I'm sure!"

And as Chaactrimei answers, his vehicle speeds toward a growing glare of tall structures. Grand buildings—impossibly clean considering the fine grit choking the air—ring the outer edge of Khefak Depot. Flashy signs for accommodations and entertainment adorn every surface. As Chaactrimei drives deeper into town, glossy facades quickly fade into huddles of dust stained buildings. Mountains of crashed starships and other junk stretch behind them. Piles of metal, glass, plastic, and countless other materials glint in the light of the burning sun. Khefak Depot appears quite busy. Many wheeled vehicles trundle through the streets, some of which wind through junk mounds. Vendors hawk their wares on corners and haggle with customers. Chaactrimei pulls up to a curb and says, “End of the line. It’s been a real pleasure driving you folks. Hope you find what you’re looking for here.” With a wave, the shirren departs, his vehicle emitting a cloud of exhaust.

Laurel takes a moment to look around and take in the scenery of the area. "Well, I wonder what Sully needed for us around here... I realize now I was under the impression he'd be meeting us here but that doesn't seem to be the case. Perhaps we should ask around and try to get our bearings here. Maybe we'll learn some more about the area and why we'd be asked to come here of all places."

If possible I'd like to see if I can gather some information about the area by asking the locals. Don't know if they give us anything but I'll roll some dice for you just in case.

Sollanaceae has some trouble getting Mr Bites from the back seat. The crocodile has made himself comfortable and is a bit grumpy his nap gets interrupted.

"Ah, its always strange to be back in a place with open sky. Although it does call to me."
