Ok so was Jon going to do something about the wish spell before leaving New Beginnings, he probably had time to do it the day before.

You ready to move to the next village?

I'd intended to get it checked out, learning what I can and can't do with a Wish (and hopefully finding out the drawback) but it can wait until the next town, or if it's not possible to do it there, when we get back here/go somewhere that can.

You could wait for the next village, but you probably won't find anyone knowledgeable enough to help you for a week, if not longer.

So we can do those interactions in spoilers and keep gameplay going.

Jon:
Where do you go? Who do you want to speak with?

Jacen had showed some interest in joining again, you guys open to him coming back?

No issue here.

Wishing for the Good Times:
The Guardian was suggested for to ask about casting it, so they seem like a good bet.

Jon:
You head out to the big stone building. As you approach you get a sense of dread or fear. Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 You are able to push through it.

Getting to the building you see:
The large stairs are not built for human feet but giants. Two large columns as if from a grand roman building hold the roof up with a very solid wall of marble. Each of the blocks making the wall are eight feet wide by four feet tall. There is no obvious door. Though at the top of the stairs there is a metal seal with swirling and glowing runes imbedded into it. On the sides of the Guardian's house stand massive statues of heroes in armor with weapons. A total of three on each side and three on the back.

Giant-Sized:
Well, it was nice to not feel like a giant, ironically. He knocked on the door politely, eyeing the statues.

Jon:
Mist emits from the cracks in the stone. Once the mist gets to your body you have the feeling of moving back some.

If you move back and stand on the silver plate you hear a voice in your head, "I am the Guardian. What is your quest? What is your favorite color? What is the name of the legendary sword Arthur Pendragon weilded?"

Bard 2 | HP: 21/24 | AC: 16, T: 10, FF: 11 | Fort: +4, Ref: +1, Will +3 | BAB: +1, CMB: +7, CMD: 16 | Init: +0 | Perception: +5 | Archeologist’s Luck: 8/8

Swallow?:
"Uhhhhh..." Jon responded with eloquence. "My quest is to find out about this scroll. My favourite colour is purple. And I'm gonna go with Excalibur, known to some as Caledfwlch, Caliburnus - not to be confused with Caliburn, the sword in the stone - Calesvol and Escalibor. Other swords he carried included Caliburn, of course, Clarent, stolen by Mordred, Sequence, which was also known as Seure, loaned to Lancelot." Jon paused, drawing a blank on any swords. There was the dagger, of course, and the spear, but...

"And since you skipped 'WHAT is your name', I'm Jonathan. Nice to meet you."

Jon:
The guardian laughs and says, "Excellent, most excellent. I knew I missed one of the questions. Thank you for humoring me. So your quest is to find out about the wish spell. It is an interesting scroll as anyone can cast it. Anyone. It is cursed but if used humbly then it may come true if you are lucky. Wishes are tricky things."

Bard 2 | HP: 21/24 | AC: 16, T: 10, FF: 11 | Fort: +4, Ref: +1, Will +3 | BAB: +1, CMB: +7, CMD: 16 | Init: +0 | Perception: +5 | Archeologist’s Luck: 8/8

Humble:
"What kind of things could a Wish spell do normally, can you tell me? And how is it cursed? Do you know of a way to remove a curse?" Maybe there was a way to deal with it, somehow.

Humble:
[b]"I told you already how it is cursed. If you have a remove curse or break enchantment and a strong enough caster those should work.

Wish is the mightiest spell a wizard or sorcerer can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter reality to better suit you. Even wish, however, has its limits. A wish can produce any one of the following effects.

Duplicate any sorcerer/wizard spell of 8th level or lower, provided the spell does not belong to one of your opposition schools.
Duplicate any non-sorcerer/wizard spell of 7th level or lower, provided the spell does not belong to one of your opposition schools.
Duplicate any sorcerer/wizard spell of 7th level or lower, even if it belongs to one of your opposition schools.
Duplicate any non-sorcerer/wizard spell of 6th level or lower, even if it belongs to one of your opposition schools.
Undo the harmful effects of many other spells, such as geas/quest or insanity.
Grant a creature a +1 inherent bonus to an ability score. Two to five wish spells cast in immediate succession can grant a creature a +2 to +5 inherent bonus to an ability score (two wishes for a +2 inherent bonus, three wishes for a +3 inherent bonus, and so on). Inherent bonuses are instantaneous, so they cannot be dispelled. Note: An inherent bonus may not exceed +5 for a single ability score, and inherent bonuses to a particular ability score do not stack, so only the best one applies.
Remove injuries and afflictions. A single wish can aid one creature per caster level, and all subjects are cured of the same kind of affliction. For example, you could heal all the damage you and your companions have taken, or remove all poison effects from everyone in the party, but not do both with the same wish.
Revive the dead. A wish can bring a dead creature back to life by duplicating a resurrection spell. A wish can revive a dead creature whose body has been destroyed, but the task takes two wishes: one to recreate the body and another to infuse the body with life again. A wish cannot prevent a character who was brought back to life from gaining a permanent negative level.
Transport travelers. A wish can lift one creature per caster level from anywhere on any plane and place those creatures anywhere else on any plane regardless of local conditions. An unwilling target gets a Will save to negate the effect, and spell resistance (if any) applies.
Undo misfortune. A wish can undo a single recent event. The wish forces a reroll of any roll made within the last round (including your last turn). Reality reshapes itself to accommodate the new result. For example, a wish could undo an opponent’s successful save, a foe’s successful critical hit (either the attack roll or the critical roll), a friend’s failed save, and so on. The re-roll, however, may be as bad as or worse than the original roll. An unwilling target gets a Will save to negate the effect, and Spell Resistance (if any) applies.
You may try to use a wish to produce greater effects than these, but doing so is dangerous. (The wish may pervert your intent into a literal but undesirable fulfillment or only a partial fulfillment, at the GM’s discretion.)

Duplicated spells allow saves and Spell Resistance as normal (but save DCs are for 9th-level spells).

When a wish duplicates a spell with a material component that costs more than 10,000 gp, you must provide that component (in addition to the 25,000 gp diamond component for this spell)."

Wishy Washy:
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind," Jon said, considering what he might use the thing for with all that. "Thank you for your help."

This or That!:
The voice comes back saying, "Good luck with your wish!"

Okay that makes sense. Yeah he is easily forgotten.

Did Zaidel move up next to Jean? Otherwise the 10 feet of movement would provoke an AoO.

Sure. Symbiotic Knight Armorist.

It's a Spheres class with the Low caster side of things, full BAB, and a gimmick for summoning all the gear you could need.

GM Wolf wrote:
Jon what do you do with the breastplate? Jon please clarify if you have it being light armor or something else, also what form does the symbiote take?
For now, it'll get packed away unless someone else wants it. And no, using it in heavy mode - the Symbiote has no ASF, and Armorist gives me proficiency in heavy armour, so this is the one suit of heavy armour I can actually wear.

How would I know that you are offering the armor to the group unless you say or do something in regards to that?

Please explain how you can have heavy armor and no Arcane Spell Failure. Sure symbiote craziness, well if that is your explanation then I don't accept the class. Please help me get my mind to wrap around it.

Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist

Yeah, basically the symbiote doesn't have any arcane failure, so I'll hold off on gestalt until I can think of something more useful then.

Well explain to me what you think it turns into as heavy armor? Dont you think it would have Arcane Spell Failure? What armor is it mimicking?

Ah I see your dilemma of only being proficient in light armor and everything has been medium or heavy.

So if you still want to go with the class I compared some things. Heavy armor typically has 35% spell failure and medium armor has 20% or more. I would be willing to half both of those to 10% and 20% for heavy.

I don't see anywhere that it states about ASF.

Bard 2 | HP: 21/24 | AC: 16, T: 10, FF: 11 | Fort: +4, Ref: +1, Will +3 | BAB: +1, CMB: +7, CMD: 16 | Init: +0 | Perception: +5 | Archeologist’s Luck: 8/8

I wouldn't say it's mimicking any armour. The stats for the heavy one don't match plate, for example, and it doesn't list ASF. After all, Spheres doesn't have arcane spell failure.

Since I wouldn't wanna play anything awkward, and I've still gotta cast, I'll go find another class for now. It'll just take a little while to sort out.

Ok, thanks for understanding, I am sorry it didn't work out. Take all the time you need.

How does handle animal work on vermin?

So +5 to the DC for vermin or other creatures with low intelligence.

So to push the spider to 'come' would be a DC 30.

I don't think Handle Animals works with Vermin unless you have a special ability that targets vermin. Animals are a specific type and Vermin are not considered animals.

Apparently, there is a Feat for Duerger to use Handle Animals on Vermin. But normally, they are unaffected.

Zaidel I am still waiting on your response to my questions. Please describe what you do as you have the spider follow you. If you just stay at the door and it gets to you, you will need to do another check.
