General Notes:
I try to post every day to keep things moving, and if you can keep a similar pace, that would be great. We all have real life interruptions of course, so if you can't post and we're in the middle of something like a combat, please give me bot instructions or I'll assume your PC does Total Defense.
Please place a good array of information in your character header. Knowing your PC's armor class, Perception mod, Initiative mod, etc., saves me a lot of time when doing posts. If you need help figuring out how to format that, we can help you.
If you're new to Pathfinder, Pathfinder Society, or play-by-post, just let me know--I'm always happy to help.
If you want to earn extra GM love, posting a full character sheet in your profile is great. That way I can look stuff up and answer my own "how did they do that?" questions. Related, if you have some crazy weird or complicated build and want to explain anything, here's a good place.
If you've made any purchases between the end of your last Chronicle and the start of this scenario, please post them here so I can reflect them on your new Chronicle.
You'll need a picture of your character for the grid scenes.
Finally, role-playing is good! Please give your PC some personality and engage with the other PCs and NPCs. I'll gently move us along if we're dwelling too much in one part of the scenario.
Any questions, ask away!

Some character info:
Kurik is a STR-frontliner with a greatsword and power attack. If ranged attacks are necessary, he uses his sling. His best skills are Diplomacy(+9) and Intimidate(+9) - he uses the latter regularly to demoralize enemy combatants. He has some experience in Animal Handling(+7) and is not too bad in Bluff(+3) and Disguise(+3), despite not being trained - though he will not tell lies. He surely isn't very perceptive(-2), and Knowledge isn't his domain, either.
Kurik has some energy resistances (Fire 3, Cold 3) and also has the Omen trait: Once per day, you may attempt to demoralize an opponent as a swift action.
Edit: Will post purchases later.

Stefan is a sword and board warpriest with the Good and War blessings. A human cursed to be a skinwalker and is locked in his bestial form most of the day. He turns back to human every midnight for 15 minutes before being forced back into bestial form with a random feature.
I'll roll a d4 everyday:
1. Bite attack that deals 1d6 points of damage
2. 2 claw attacks that each deal 1d4 points of damage
3. Darkvision 60 feet
4. +2 racial bonus on all saving throws
Bestial feature: 1d4 ⇒ 4
I have +2 to Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate and Sense Motive against Goblins.

Just FYI, I'm leaving for a week-long vacation out of country during which I won't be able to post. I'll be gone from Friday to Friday, 3-10 Dec. I should have time tonight to give my games one last look tonight before bed, but I'll be incommunicado after. Please feel free to bot me after that as needed!

@GM Jhaeman - I think that you might have to bot Jon Rool. See post above. :)
This bog is a pain but the pain probably cuts both ways. The monster should not be able to five foot step and full attack in difficult terrain at least I hope not. A wand of feather step would be highly useful in this scenario. :)

Do I make another Climb roll or am I on the ground now?

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Hi all, I'm back and catching up. Post-vacay recovery took longer than expected; my ear is still plugged from the flight for some reason, so my whole being is a little bit off. I haven't popped into Gameplay yet, just here to let you know that that will happen at some point today. Thanks for your patience!

![]() |

Great to have you back! :-)

Since bog takes 4 squares of movement that means a full move in bog will only allow me to move 2 squares?

![]() |

One square on the map equals 5 feet. For example, if you have a land speed of 20 feet and make a double move, you can move 40 feet.
In a deep bog each square costs 20 feet of movement. So with a double move in deep bog feet means you can move:
- 2 squares with a land speed of 20
- 3 squares with a land speed of 30

Cliffhanger! If it suits, this would be a good point to take a brief break for the holidays, as I know many folks will be travelling or busy with events. We've made good progress, but still have the final act to go. I'd suggest we reconvene on January 2nd. Sound okay to everyone?
Thanks fine with me, though I'll actually become available after New Years on Jan 3 or 4.

Do you guys want to go around and come at them from behind?

![]() |

If we don't go around and the door has not yet been broken down by my turn I will brace my shield against the door.

![]() |

Kurik is not very fast (heavy armor), so he will stay here.

![]() |

It is a good thing that these ghouls are attacking now and not in the wilderness. They are dangerous if they attack in a coordinated fashion especially with the element of surprise.

![]() |

Actually chopping down doors should be tough. Damage from regular melee weapons (with the exception of axes and mauls) really should be halved when you come to think about it. On the other hand if they have profession:fire fighter then watch out! :)

![]() |

Have fun Jon. I think this fight is essentially over anyways. If Petro does not put the last ghoul down with an arrow then my character will swing around and toast it on his turn anyways. Even if it saves it will be dead. :)

GM Jhaeman |

Thanks for a fun session, and for sticking with it--the scenario went longer due to our holiday break and just the way some of the encounters were structured.
Please make sure you've marked off all expendables from your inventory tracking sheets--wand charges, potions, etc.
If you have day job rolls or anything else you'd like me to add to your Chronicle, please let me know. I'll have them ready here for later in the week.

![]() |

Thanks for running again GM Jhaeman. It is much appreciated. No day job for this character. :)

![]() |

Profession Innkeeper: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Thank you all for a great game, especially Jhaeman for running! My monkey monk has a lot to think about before hitting level 2.

![]() |

profession(Librarian): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Thanks for the game.

![]() |

Perform (oratory), day job: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Thanks for running! I'm glad we didn't spoil the scenario when we slaughtered the townspeople who were running from the monsters! That truly caught me by surprise!

GM Jhaeman |

Okay, Chronicles are available here. If there are any issues, just let me know and I'll fix them up.
You folks did really well, completing both success conditions and earning all available gold and items!

![]() |

Everything looks good. Thanks for a great game, everyone, especially Jhaeman for running!

![]() |

Looks fantastic. Thanks. :)

Thanks for a great game, everyone, I had fun!
