Work whooped my butt last night so only a quick post to adjust/account for Ghul's GoR reaction kicking in. I'll move things along proper later tonight, if all goes well.

GM Ladile |

Happy New Year! I hope your celebrations have been as wild or as tame as suits your preference :)

So, random idea: half of us are already level 2. Would it be an idea if the other half of this group also applied some credit to this character, so we're all level 2 for next adventure? Especially with level 1 characters being a bit squishy, it would give us more options, I think. Assuming all of us are able to assign GM credit before the next game, of course.
Just a thought, I'm just throwing it out there. I have no complaints about how it is right now, I just thought it could be a little... I dunno, smoother?
(Secretly I mainly wanna to this myself, so I can sneak attack with spells, but I'd like to see what you think, first.)

Forgot to respond to this earlier but I actually did this with Corona so she should level up to 2nd after I apply the GM chronicle for this scenario! I personally have no problem with it.

![]() |

Ah, cool. Then we don't have any level 1 characters anymore, I think.
I'm GMing tomorrow, so I'll add that to Thriss'k after we finish Lady Ladie's game. :)

GM Ladile |

Regarding the talk of plans over in Gameplay, I'd also be willing to entertain attempts to disable using other skills provided you make a good case for it and/or have some good RP for it.

![]() |

So, er... The posting rate has been kinda slow lately, and it's kinda sapping my enthusiasm for the game. I still love playing with you, and I don't mean to point fingers or sound mean/ungrateful, but... would you mind posting a bit more (if time allows, of course. Don't mean to rush you if you literally don't have the chance to)?
Sorry if this comes across as mean, but I'm not sure how to phrase this more elegantly. >_>

![]() |

I'll voice a related sentiment: I'm having difficulty remembering what's going on.
Part of it is my fault - I'm not particularly good about tracking whether I'm in the Arcane Cascade stance, or whether my Spellstrike is charged - but part of it is definitely that the game is moving slowly enough for me to forget, and I find myself scrolling back quite a bit to remember what I was doing.

GM Ladile |

Nope, not mean at all. Long story short is that around the time my scenario began, we lost two people in my department at work and have been working short-staffed ever since. Add all the COVID stuff on top of that (I work a healthcare job) and it's meant that I've been working more and have been more tired than usual - and I've found that when I'm tired, it's much, much harder to concentrate on posting. It's not just this game; basically all of my PbP games have suffered as a result.
To be honest, if I'd had a crystal ball to see the future, I either wouldn't have signed up for the group or I would've requested to take my turn at the GM helm later in the rotation. This is why I largely opted to skip out on participating in NostalgiaCon and will probably also skip participating in OutPost this year.
All that said, we're almost done with Task #3, leaving one more to go. If you'll bear with me a little longer, I'll prioritize this game and get us to the finish line; this also means I'll be more proactive with putting folks on delay during combat and moving the action along.
And to that effect, off to update Gameplay...

![]() |

Ouch, super good luck with your job, and take your time!
If you'd like, I (or someone else, if they're willing) can take over GMing, if that frees up mental space for you. I don't mean to take command or anything, I love how you've run so far, just looking out for you. :)

I meant my character will be level 2 when we have done the 3 intros scenarios. I don’t think we did Intro: Year of Shattered Sanctuaries so far, did we?

Ghul Succeeded and Unifax Failed the Basic Save, so due to our connection, I applied only the greater result once (Failing @ 6 cold damage), but resolved their Prone separately, as that doesn't affect the hit point pool.
LINK
Lastly, the connection between you and your eidolon means you both share a single pool of Hit Points. Damage taken by either you or the eidolon reduces your Hit Points, while healing either of you recovers your Hit Points. Like with your actions, if you and your eidolon are both subject to the same effect that affects your Hit Points, you apply those effects only once (applying the greater effect, if applicable). For instance, if you and your eidolon get caught in an area effect that would heal or damage you both, only the greater amount of healing or damage applies.
Open to other GM interpretation!

GM Ladile |

^That's my understanding of how it works as well so yes, greater result on the HP but separate for the Prone condition :)
Currently at work but about to start working on an update now~

GM Ladile |

Work's been a booger the past two nights but we're almost done and I've got (hopefully) several days off coming up. Gameplay update to come later today!

![]() |

Just for the record I will use boon to rebuild Rawiri into another class ;) There is something that I don't like about swashbuckler, maybe it is the repeatability of each and every round. Gain panache, attack, third action (parry, move, pull out something). So far I am leaning towards FLame Oracle which fits into Ifrit dwarf well.
I also want to be more useful outside of the fights (we will see how well shall I do with Oracle :D).

GM Ladile |

Okay folks, that's it! I'll post the winddown later this evening (about to head out of the house to run some errands) and get chronicles and everything ready to go as well.
I greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during the slow periods of the game and please know that while I tend to prefer a slightly more sedate pace than some, even I don't like to stretch games out that long. Also, thank you for bearing with me on any rules and other mechanics that I fumbled with. This scenario has actually been extremely useful to me as a GM in that it allowed me to get a taste of running several different mechanics (haunts, swarms, persistent damage, etc.) within the PF2e system.
I'd still like to continue on with the group as a player, if you'll have me. Posting as a player tends to be easier even when ones' time is limited and I've also got some other games winding down, so that will make it easier to keep up with the ones that remain.

![]() |

Ladile: I didn't notice anything you fumbled with. Everything went smoothly, as far as I'm concerned. :) And of course you're welcome to keep playing, we're all in this together. :)
Rawiri: Yeah, it's got a lot of unnecessary rolling I'm not fond of, same with the Operative in Starfinder. You need to roll well twice to actually get your damage through. Confident Finisher is at least a good consolation prize. Also, as a Dwarf, I guess you're kinda fighting an uphill battle with your penalty to Charisma.
Who was GM number three again?

GM Ladile |

Alrighty, the game has been reported and you can find your chronicles ---> here. Please look them over and make sure I've gotten everything correct! :)

Mine looks great - thanks for running!

Crafting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 vs DC 14

![]() |

Performance, DC14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
@Thriss'k I don't mind playing a PC with lower stats then others usually have. But when I struggle to RP the rounds I usually play way worse games than I like, and I mean here enjoyment from the game more than the amount of dmg that I do.
Anyway, Rawiri will be ready. for 3-01 that will be the first time that I play that scenario, just throwing it out there, as I know that it was offered a lot.

![]() |

Ladile I really enjoyed how you GM'ed the scenario. I think you put just the right amount of importance on RP. (at least for me). The scenario was entertaining and interesting, despite the fact that I don't necessarily like those kind of 'short jobs'. I also it is not a problem to post less often, as long as you set expectations up-front. For me it is important for the game to move forward every workday, otherwise, I begin to post less and less, and my RP suffers.
Anyway, I really like how you narrated the scenario and I like to think that I learned a think or two by watching how you are doing.
Chronicle looks good.

![]() |

I agree with Rawiri, you have a nice style of GMing. :) Linking to the map every single time in combat was super nice, especially with the number of slides provided.
Scribing Lore for Earn Income: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Fail, so that's 8 copper for me.

![]() |

Also leveled up Thriss'k to level 2 now. Bit of a boring level up, but it's necessary. Magical Trickster class feat, allowing me to sneak attack with spells, Continual Recovery for better healing, and Medicine to Expert. I can do my own stuff at level 3, but better get my bases covered right now. :)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I was quite busy at the end and start of the year so I appreciated the slow pace myself.
If you fumbled around some mechanics, I did not particularly noticed it. I appreciated the custom replies you gave several times.
Thanks for the quick chronicle sheet.
Day job, dc 14, trying to write a good report, Pathfinder Society Lore: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Then day job for the head shot chronicle.
Day job, dc 14, Pathfinder Society Lore: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Well, no one seems to like his writing skills…

Glad folks enjoyed the game! :)
Corona here will also be Level 2 at the start of the next scenario as I'll be applying a chronicle for #3-02 to her. I'm currently working but I'll try and get her leveled up within the next day or so.

By the way, last game we had just enough GM glyphs to give everyone one. Is that still the case? If not, I'll roll for HP.
Hero Points: 1d4 + 1d3 ⇒ (4) + (2) = 6
Ghul and Smell of the Pines get my Hero Points!

![]() |

I think the last time we had enough glyphs due to WaterySoup having two to give, I think now we will have almost 2 each :D
================
An FYI, Rawiri as a Flames Oracle will use this spell Incendiary Aura. The key part of this spell is that it affects each creature within the emanation. I will try to position myself in such a way to minimize the risk of you getting caught by it, but you should be aware that standing in it is fine, as long as you are not taking fire damage ;) Rawiri has minimal fire resistance (lvl/2) but his jaguar is immune to fire damage. I will not use it if I know that enemies are immune to fire or deal fire damage. But mistakes can happen.
At the same time, there is also a synergy for you to use with this aura, by dealing fire damage to the enemy within it they will catch with 2d4 persistent fire damage.
