I don't think there are many 1-2 scenarios - just Intro 1 and Intro 2, to my knowledge.
The repeatable 1-4 scenarios are 1-01, 1-06, 1-10, and 1-14. 1-06 is my favorite, followed by 1-14. If we play 1-06, I can't bring Merian - I applied a 1-06 GM credit to her a while back. But I have a bajillion (bajillion = 3) level 2 characters so there's no problem.
Thevenin Serkat: leshy tempest oracle
Peter Plus-Haut: human kitsune (shh!) bard
Bechamel Mornay: halfling starlit span magus
Also, I have Anschluss (who goes by "Sunshine"), a kayal ranger, who is level 3.

I'm good with #1-06 if Soup doesn't mind switching out his character :)
Even after applying the most recent chronicle, Corona just has 16 XP so she'll need two more scenarios to level to 3rd.

![]() |

Do people think they can get some GM credit on their character before the end of my scenario? Then we can all do a 3-6 next time. If not, no worries.
Of all the repeatables at least, 1-06 is the most fun IMHO, but I don't want to steal Farol's scenario from him without his permission. Otherwise I'll grab something else, or maybe there's a regular 1-4 available.

![]() |

I played it twice and each time I fought the hag, I would appreciate it if we would do other variation ;) I was planning to GM Wild Bonsai (as the graphic of that tree is just amazing) ;)

![]() |

I probably won't be able to get any GM credit for Corona in time since I only GM via PbP. Though I *think* my bard Pooka is level 3 (or needs to level up to 3) - gotta check her chronicles - so if that's the case I could always bring her if everyone else ends up leveling to 3rd.

GM Kwinten |

Just looking at Challenge Points:
Corona is level 2. That's 3 CP.
Smell of the Pines is 2 as well. 3 more CP.
Rawiri is level 3. 4 CP.
That's 10 CP so far. With Soup bringing either 3 or 4 CP to the table, that's still lower tier. The tipping point is 19 CP, and with 4 players, we'll only get there once two people hit level 4. So I say choose a character you think fits well in the party and not worry about level (unless you all choose a level 4 :P).

GM Kwinten |

A heads up from me: from tomorrow around this time until Sunday evening I'll be away from my computer. Feel free to do some RP with the villagers in the meantime. :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Awww! :D
I got to attend a stage performance with some friends several years ago and really enjoyed it.

GM Kwinten |

Just checking that I've got the right amount of CP. In the post earlier, I concluded this:
Corona is level 2. That's 3 CP.
Smell of the Pines is 2 as well. 3 more CP.
Rawiri is level 3. 4 CP.
With Sunshine also at level 3, that's 14 CP. Did I miss anything?
Looks like this scenario is the first that uses the CP system, so I don't need to do any level bumps or anything.

Sorry, I’ve been lacking at looking at my pbp games, thought I had posted more often than I did.

![]() |

@GM Fiery Leopard uses the base stats of a Cat which under special says that it deals extra 1d4 to flat-footed targets

![]() |

I’ll be travelling out of my step father home from Wednesday to Sunday. I will have very limited Internet access, and probably very few time to do so. Don’t hesitate to bot Smell of the Pines and Resinosa.

![]() |

Hope you have a safe trip, SotP!
Regarding absences I'll be out of town May 25th - June 1st for PaizoCon; I'll have my Chromebook with me but can't promise I'll have a lot of time for posting.

![]() |

Thanks.
We’re also planning to do another trip, spending one night in an hotel next week.
I won’t be able to attend PaizoCon online due to our travel. We’ll be getting back home on the 2nd of June.

![]() |

Afraid I don't have any yet :/

![]() |

We are back at my stepfather’s home and had plenty of good times with the kids. As I expected I did not get much time for PbP, falling asleep at the same time as the kids almost every evening.

![]() |

Apologies for the silence; work last weekend and into Tuesday was busy and then I had to get everything ready for my trip out to PaizoCon. I've got my Chromebook here with me but I can't promise regular updates until I get home next Tuesday/Wednesday night.

![]() |

Posting from the airport lounge, waiting to fly home from my trip. PaizoCon was lots of fun, even in a reduced capacity! I'm hoping to get to go back next year.
Once I get home my posting should more or less return to normal. That said, I *also* get to come home and pretty much go right back to work so I may be a bit slow for a few days if things are busy at work.

GM Kwinten |

Cool, glad you had fun. :) And take it easy, no need to rush everything.
I haven't noticed a slow down in posting really, I've been taking a deliberately slow pace since I know people are on holiday. In hindsight I do agree my previous scenario was at a bit of a breakneck pace, I hope this suits everyone's lifestyles a bit more. :)

GM Kwinten |

Yes, we're in the final fight. I expect we can wrap this scenario up by next week. If you could all give me the relevant information, I can start prepping chronicles.

AFAIk we are comming to an end of this scenario. @勝20100 do you want to run the next one? Or should I?
I will be running 1-10 Tarnbreaker's trail, since we are not lvl 3 yet
I’d prefer to run the next scenario. I have no idea what to run thought as we were talking about any replayable scenario. Is there any preferences?

Character Name: Smell of the Pines
Character Level: 2
PFS/Character Number/Faction: 93504-2006 / Vigilant Seal
Downtime Skill/Task Level/Task DC/Die Result/Outcome:
Downtime: Using Herbalist to craft with Nature an alchemical item with the healing trait: a Minor Elixir of Life.
Spending 1.5 gold pieces in raw material, then spending 4 days.
Nature (expert) DC 16: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Critical success so reduce the cost by 5 sp per extra day spent.
Spending 3 extra days so no extra cost is needed.
Then spending a day doing a report.
Pathfinder Lore, task 0, DC 14: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Wow, first time this is not a failure! 5 cp

I have four low level characters.
Anschluss / Sunshine: Level 4 (after this scenario) kayal ranger, has received credit for 1-06 and 3-01
Merian Seiche: Level 3 azarketi magus, has received credit for 1-06 and 2-06
Peter Plus-Haut: Level 2 kitsune bard, has received credit for no repeatables, but is locked for the next few weeks in another game
Bechamel Mornay: Level 2 halfling magus, has received credit for 3-01
I would bring Merian if possible, Sunshine as a backup, and the other two if we end up low tier. I'd rather not create any more characters, I've got all I can handle at the moment.

For the scenarios there are:
1-10 Tarnbreaker Trail
1-14 Lions of Khatapesh that accommodate 1-4 PC's
There is also
4-01 Year of Boundless Wonder but it comes out middle of August :(

Eek! I hope you feel better soon!

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Session reported and chronicles van be found HERE! Please tell me if you can't access them, but I should have done everything all right. (I tend to forget to give people access to my Drive, for instance. >_>)
It was a good scenario, I think. Had a lot of places to put my own mark on things, and I feel like I got a good balance between posting speed and giving people time to respond. Also some good RP here and there. :) The scenario gives a good setup for RP, but doesn't specify much in what the NPCs say, so that was pretty fun for me to invent, and it came naturally to me as well. Sometimes I'm just struggling to find a "voice" for the NPCs. And I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, I think. Plus, I mean, as soon as I knew Resinosa was going to fight animated trees, I was just excited. :)
I've played this scenario already, also with this exact set of enemies, but the GM was kinda new/rusty and literally I can remember is the final boss, so it was new for me as well. :)

@Kwinten - first and foremost thanks for running this. I really enjoy this scenario, and I did enjoy playing it not as a lvl 1st PC ;) Unfortunatelly I think it requires a bit of work to pass the story of this scenario in a cohesive way, and you did it perfectly.
Great job with Kami (awesome art), and great job with the giant tree guardian. The player behind Rawiri, is a huge fan of such creatures and ideology!
Overall I liked your NPC's and how they interacted. Well done!
================================
From Rawiri perspective, overall I enjoyed turning my mistake with Merian in an odd discussion that Rawiri had with some being. In my head it was some sort of Kami spirit, that would tell him ways of Yamatsumi which is a Tian God related to fire (so falling under flame oracle).
Overall I felt like I had a 'side thing' that Rawiri could incorporate into his posts.
================================
For a moment I really thought that you decided to run the scenario differently where we would be able to save the guardian instead of killing him. I really felt sad that he died in flames => hence Rawiri's post.

Thanks! :D The PbP nature allowed me to think a little more on how to portray the NPCs, which really helps. I don't think I would've been as good if it was a live game.

Yeah, I like how you turned it into an RP thing. I always love it when PCs interact with each other It's usually PC's acting against the environment, but PC interaction is also a great part of RP. :)

Oh yeah, I'm proud of how I turned it into a bittersweet ending. Technically he had 1 HP left and I considered giving you another round to save him, but I didn't want to drag it out too much. I think I like this ending much more.
Technically, this encounter specifically says that when you say the phrase, the guardian snaps out of his frenzy and retreats, so I didn't alter any of this (other than fudging that one single hit point), but I thought it was a bit of a wet fart of an ending.Plus, I think this leans really well into Rawiri's curse aspect. You get cool powers, but they also come with a great price, not just to yourself. You just burned a creature alive who saw the error of his ways. That could be good character development, and I think your post shows that really well. :)

My chronicle looks good - thank you, GM! :D

Thanks for the character sheet and running the game; and to other player to entertain me.
I like the pace of the adventure. Its been a long time since I’ve run a live game but I always have trouble with ending the session on time.
I will be doing a trip starting Friday until the 27 where we will get back home with the whole family. I will bring my phone and should be able to post except near the end of our trip.
We will probably finish mid-august, in that case I am willing to run 4-01 if you are all interested. I will probably not have played it but that’s fine. (I need to look at gencon online schedule to see if I can play)

![]() |

The only main thing I'd like to do with Corona is play #3-05 Inheritor's Rite at some point before she outlevels it, since she's played #3-02 The East Hill Haunting. That said, #3-05 is also a 1-4 so she's got some time yet to fit it in :)
Otherwise, I should be good with most anything.

Are you still planning to GM now? I am asking as when I was reading your comment I was not sure if that was your plan :D Or you wanted to wait and run another.
