Carson of Downton |
Carson's Medicine is slightly better than his life science, although if this involves identifying rare creatures (are diseases considered creatures?) his theme drops the DC by 5. I am assuming this disease is not considered a creature.
Hmm. Let's see what this kit can tell us.
Medicine check to make sure the data is complete and look at the preliminary findings: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Some days
Estrel-4 |
Estrel-4 will try and download the patient information off of the droid's data stores, after agreeing to do so as it tends to it's patients. He dodges it's appendages and runs around the room after the droid.
computers: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
He'll then join Carson in trying to analyze the samples.
life science: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
GM Valen |
As his fellow agents look on, Estrel-5 efficiently reads the medical bot's stored data and begins to use Monsylkis’s device to gather samples and vital data from the patients.
An initial analysis reveals that all six of the patients are infected with the same pathogen. When compared to the pathogen database, it matches a rare extraplanar virus called murkblight.
The stored data reveals that most confirmed murkblight cases are Sector 9 residents, but the contagion has begun spreading to the rest of the station.
Having the available information from the medical clinic, the agents find themselves walking through the station's corridors, which leads past the main common space.
Map of Station now up on Slides.
Within the main common space, a holographic terminal to the west displays an interactive map of the sector including a directory and the nearby cafeteria’s daily menu.
Cheerful posters and potted plants decorate the space.
Any PC may now attempt a Mysticism check. If the check meets a DC 24, then you may open the spoiler below:
Where to now, Starfinders?
Potential points of interest to be examined are:
* the cafeteria where some miners seem to be talking
* the residential quarters
* the storage pantry
House GM Tyranius |
You are all kept current of real time events as First Seeker Elsebo sends a message. ”Agents sent to a corporate retreat managed to influence high-ranking members of AbadarCorp. These agents survived some unorthodox workshop activities and persuaded an executive to oppose Datch’s vote. The cooperation of these AbadarCorp staff members may be enough to tip the scales in favour of Iseki- Okaibo.”
Table GMs, covert mission four is now closed and action mission four is now available for selection.
Carson of Downton |
Carson looks around te station while considering which way to go.
Perception, This will be two higher if it is vision based: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
The black spikes in that corridor look odd. We should probably check them out.
I might get lucky
Mysticism: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Misread the DC. I couldn't have made it anyway.
Does anybody know what these funny mystical spikes are?
THE Umbral Dawn |
Shoot for the moon!
Mysticism+sidereal influence: 1d20 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 3 + (5) = 26
Wowsers! Didn't expect that.
"You fools! Those are clearly zuvak quills! Don't touch them!"
GM Valen |
Shoot for the moon!
Wowsers! Didn't expect that.
"You fools! Those are clearly zuvak quills! Don't touch them!"
Well done!
Where to next, Starfinders?
Officer Swizzers |
"Agreed. Could murkblight be spready by contaminated foodstuffs? If so, a search of the pantry might be worthwhile."
GM Valen |
Two votes for storage pantry...
Pushing open the door, you see that this storage pantry is ransacked. Torn ration packages litter the floor, and a gaping hole in the southern wall reveals part of the adjacent room. A cluster of cylindrical, inky black casings hangs from the ceiling overhead. The silicone-like structures appear to have burst open from within.
Officer Swizzers |
"This looks ominous! Does anyone know what these black casings are?" Swizzers stays outside of the room for now.
Carson of Downton |
Carson moves into the room to try and identify the strange black casing.
Life Science to identify, reduce the DC of Life Science checks to identity rare creatures by 5 based on theme: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Something underwent a metamorphosis in here, and this was its cocoon.
With that roll and the DC reduction, can I get any idea of what the creature is/was?
GM Valen |
With that roll and the DC reduction, can I get any idea of what the creature is/was?
Alas, no. The skill to identify them is Mysticism. However, it is funny that you should ask because...

Seeing that the quilled creature's attacks seem to be freezing his dwarven compatriot, the lashunta takes a deep breath and lets it go. The lights around him change in color from a golden red to a blueish green.

This will probably be one of the stupider things I ever do
This is assumed that Romeo is represented by the yellow dot on the map.
I would like to use my standard action to grab Romeo, then attempt to move out the door, probably provoking an attack of opportunity from the Quilled creature. From what I can see, the creature can't fail to hit me unless it rolls a natural one. Moving half speed (15 out of 30 feet) I should be able to get to the other side of Officer Swizzers.
