Kahwen
|
Here's Kahwen. Thanks for running. I've been hoping to get this one completed in his career.
I think IHIYC's character is 6th level but if there is a 5th level character in the party, Kahwen has the Model Pathfinder Agent boon so can provide a +1 bonus to AC or saves or +1HP per level for the duration of the adventure.
(I did it the last time Kahwen came to the Gloomspires.)

I'd be a little worried about a 6th level character in the high tier, depending on what their skillset is. If it's just one, probably no big deal, but if you're just squeaking into tier it may be a bad idea. Still, dice rolls are the biggest determining factor, so we will see how everyone feels.
Purple Dragon Knight

Here's the list of my in-range pretties:
Alchemist8 (ranged AoEs)
Urogue9 (ranged/melee/sneak/trap spotter)
Bloodrager6 (melee, slow and stupid... I hate him)
Bard6 (melee, inspire courage, minor arcane & healing)
Barb1/Ftr4/UlfGuard1 (melee + bull rush + overrun)
Druid9(Supernaturalist) (pet is melee; druid focuses on divine casting mostly to buff the pet; her big whammy is the Wall of Thorns spell, as both she and the pet can walk through it (Wall of Thorns require GM adjudication due to being worded like an old 1st edition spell... lol)
Nectanebo the Vulture
|
Nectanebo's career started with the Gloomspires, and continued with the "Labyrinth"; he IS my character for this adventure, bar none.
WYSIWYG: A powerful "Necroccultist", a bit of a "glass cannon" (what Elf isn't?) who needs but one more level to really come into his own as a hit-and-run fighter, a bit slow (but with means of overcoming that when he really needs to), extra-resistant to the forces of darkness, and jack-of-many-skills. Is that a magic device you've got there, a work of art perhaps, an archaeological artifact, or even an interesting corpse? Don't mind if I do, let me see them all...!
Nectanebo the Vulture

Oh, an occultist? You'll be fine, I've run for a couple of them and never been able to kill them. :P
Kahwen

Mykel's Chronicle Sheet will be finished in the next day or two and there's no chance he's going to die, now so he's free to move into this scenario.
I know I've played with Nectanebo before but I'm not sure if it was with Kahwen or if it was here in the Gloomspires.

i mean...even aspawnPinata of Yog Sothoth couldn't kill the Vulture...
Wait until you see the 'loot' in action!
Interesting lineup; three "d8 HD, 3:4 BAB butnotapriest"-types, and one svelte fighter; if I were roll4initiative, I might bring a 0-9 mage of some kind.
Getting this out of the way now, since Sign-In Sheet wants to know:
Craft (Jeweler): 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (13) + 23 = 36

Any of them experienced with the Gloomspires?
Nope. My Cleric of Shelyn took all the GM credit for the gloomspire scenarios. He's 12 level.
Oh! Wait! Lemme see who did Hall of the Flesh Eaters.
My Nagaji Ranger took GM credit for Flesheaters.
Meh. I'd rather bring in someone with spellcasting abilities.

Alright, if you bring your druid we will have the 4 player adjustment, if you play either of the others no adjustment. We will be high tier either way, so the choice is yours! Play whichever character you think you'll have more fun with. Everyone can dot into the gameplay thread and make purchases before boarding the Grinning Pixie.

It does look like you also have your Archaeologist, who could be interesting...
...definitely don't want Sir Ivan around when I am...
...but your Druid seems fine to me (besides, looks like she'd be the only high-WIS character).

My bard/archaeologist can't do crap for damage. If loaded with scrolls, though.
I read in the scenario reviews that this is a "Bonekeep" tough scenario. I'll keep us at the 4 player adjustment and go with my druid. She just got done with an adventure so I need to make some purchases & update.

that makes sense...plus it will help with healing if you have a druid...i have a buttload of gp to spend...might put Answering on my falcata...help with my Parry/Riposte
edit...purchases so far will be a scroll of life's breath, and an aegis or recovery and add Answering on my falcata...8625 gp total...

Completed sign-in slide and made several purchases. I also added a crap-load of spells with links to descriptions on profile. Now just need to choose which spells to prepare.
Hey! Noral can have my spot. A sylph sky druid is probably not a good fit for this scenario. I only chose her b/c there were 3 melee types. Plus, I've had the opportunity to GM this a long time ago.
I'll just wait 'til it rolls along another time.
Have fun & Cheers!

I filled out the sheet GM TOZ.
Here is the character I’ll bring.
Ellismus the Blue

Sorry... the dangers of not 'dotting and deleting'... more than one kickass games have slipped out of my fingers like this. Nice and ready now; chronicle sheets have been updated; ready to go!
Purchases in this scenario: wand of identify (750), wand of cure mod 5 charges (450), wand of lesser restoration 12 charges (1,080), haunt siphon (400).
Day Job, Craft Alchemy, Take 10: 10 + 32 = 42
Ellismus the Blue
|
Warning/Disclaimer: Ellismus has a very low Charisma, and is the embodiment of 'grumpy old man'. If, in-character RP, he spits in your general direction or expels other audible sound or gas emissions, would this offend you as a player? if so, please say so now and I will tone down the Family Man / Homer Simpson factor down a few notches.

@GM: Had a previous GM a long time ago rule that 'stink bomb somehow doesn't work with Precise Bomb', despite the FAQ on the subject. Let me know what your thoughts are on this. Thanks.
(My interpretation is that based on the following FAQ, if secondary effect is in addition to damage, it follows that Precise Bomb excluding squares for damage also excludes the secondary effect for those squares)

Personally, I don't like toilet humor (I mean, unless maybe it would be too spot-on to pass up - Lachen Über Alles!), but it's "trigger warning/affirmative consent culture" that I find much more offensive. :)
If you'll forgive a bit of soapboxing:
There's no place in life for the level of onion-skinned preciousness - and worst of all, humorlessness (which, as the bearer of an authentic psychology degree, I am 100% serious and 0% exaggerating when I state my conclusion that "humorlessness" belongs as a recognized pathology in the APA's next DSM, and should be considered as grave a problem as suicidal depression and psychopathy) - that has been creepily cultivated and enabled over the last few years, and to anyone who's ACTUALLY suffered, it's actively counter-helpful, and pretty insulting, to boot.
This site wants to be "a fun and friendly place", but it also wants to be a so-called "safe space" - it needs to come to terms with the fact that it cannot be both. The core folks pushing the second concept are the antithesis of "fun and friendly" (believe me, I've met them), and the many more who, for various reasons, support or sympathize with them at present would actually all be better off without them.
Bear in mind we have spent the last 5-7 years living in a moment that just about embodies the following pearl:
"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
- Martin Luther "When I Talked About Race, They Harassed Me, Once I Shifted to Class, They Killed Me" King, Jr.
