Scarred One |
Scarred One helps to carry the grains "Are we just making money, or are we trying to achieve something with this trade?"
He looks around at the present creatures and all of the doors ...
Shall we hit the big monster in the arena ;)
Oorgatch |
"So, what's the quickest way to the arena? We've always gone the long way around." he asks the bartender. "And would you like any herbs from the surface, such as hops, coriander, or the like?"
Scarred One |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Let us go the long way, so out of the tavern, wide corridor north, through the stairs next to the statue, turn south and go to the double door to the entrance. Otherwise we might trigger a fight.
"Let's go the way we know, that monster defiled the earth long enough with its existance."
Pirate GM |
The bartender notes "There's some more of them alien slugs to the south, like I said before I'd keep your distance unless you want to be experimented on."
"As for spices, not much demand for surface flavors down here, I bet I could come up with a list for ya, next time you're around though."
Sendoski Osprey |
Maybe I'm thinking of The Confirmation, but doesn't the Alpaca have an entrace to th underdark? Maybe our tavern friends could visit us?
"Let us know what you need," Sendoski says to the barkeep.
Sendoski follows his friends to the arena.
Oorgatch |
Oorgatch replies, "Sounds good. Just let us know."
He follows Yan and Scarred One.
Pirate GM |
There is a tunnel from beneath the Alpaca that leads to level 3. (See South end (To Otari)
With a couple of Morlocks in tow you make your way around the long way. Somebody seems to have finally done something about the rotting hydra corpse.
The arena still contains the unaware massive pile. Based on Morlock better, odds on y'all do not seem great.
Feel free to position yourself anywhere in the arena at least 25ft away from the horrible monster.

Scarred One moves a bit closer to the monster "It looks bigger from up close."
He turns towards Worddancer "Why did you invite others to see the fight? What if we would have to flee when the monster bests us?" He looks at the size of the morlocks "Or do you plan to use them as living shields?" he smiles wickedly
"Very dark of you Worddancer, I did not think that you had it in you."
Recall Knowledge before the fight Religion +15 Dubious Knowledge.
Before we start Scarred One would cast Shillelagh, then I suggest we start with hitting it at a range before going melee.
Yan Tovis |
Yan takes up position front and center.
"It's an arena, there's meant to be an audience!"
Yan needs to spend an action stance when we're in init, and probably smite evil, so for now he won't draw the bow.
He flourishes his beautiful scarf around in the air like a black pennant.
Oorgatch |
Oorgatch stands next to Yan, hand crossbow in one hand, 'Branch' in the other. He looks at the thing, carefully, wondering if he now remembers anything about it.
Pirate GM |

Well it's clearly a massive Shanrigol, an amalgamations of warped flesh and shattered bone.
Basec on limited knowledge, and from fighting the smaller ones, it's both undead and an aberration, its resistant to slashing and piercing but weak to positive damage.
It's exact powers will vary based on what bones and fleshy bits were used to make it. There are some, what are probably drider legs sticking out, as well as some morlock bits. So maybe webbing, jumping, darkness, lightning bolts. Whatever it can do, it's not going to be pleasant.
Pirate GM |
With the party nearing the Gargantuan Shanrigol it finally rises, an almost noxious smell releasing from its body as it rises up.

fleshy slap: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34

Sometimes part of a creature extends beyond its space, such as if a giant octopus is grabbing you with its tentacles. In that case, the GM will usually allow attacking the extended portion, even if you can’t reach the main creature. I've added a giant purple tail that's got Yan that you can potentially reach. No special location rules like a hydra etc.
Oorgatch |
Oorgatch starts by just dropping his crossbow and drawing his mace. He then tumbles past the tail to get a flank (hopefully) with Scarred one.

Perhaps previously digested by the Shanrigol it's easy enough to recover and identify a few items from the the necromantic sludge that now coats the arena.
