Back at the bar, the gambling Morlocks give you a wide berth and the Drider bouncer reminds you not to cause trouble.

As long as you order the occasional drink the bartender has no trouble with you hanging out.

No band at the moment and as before there are some dirty plates and such but no food on order.

The party hangs out for a few hours in the tavern, getting everything sorted out.

The morlocks calm down after a bit and figure Scarred One isn't likely to eat them or whatever other horrible fate he might threaten.

Nox squares off against Oorgatch, playing a sad but driving tune on their lute.

That said, Oorgatch barely manages to come out ahead with their drills.

Gulzash plays a song reminiscent of fire. The bartender initially tries to keep Scarred One from behind the bar, but only puts up token resistance. While his performance isn't initially impressive he digs deep and holds that keg until the applause comes in

Finally Kragala goes on a crazy long drum solo, but Sendoski is not to be outdone, makes an impressive set of kegstands.

Ryta claps "Well done! Now for our final bout!"

More post in a bit.

Gathering the group of you on stage lined up against them for the final battle of the bands Shadow Malice performs an Energetic song to much applause before turning over the stage to you.

"Now you've shown off your various talents, but this stage is for performers, friends."

Looking at your lack of instruments, "Surely you're not acapella, lend em your instruments." she says, first looking at you and then to her bandmates.

They grumble a little bit but hand over the drum set and the 2 lutes.

This section is performance only. You'll need a band lead, who will get an additional +4 due to the successes earlier. Also everybody else will need to try and assist. (Unlike the normal rules for bonuses, these bonuses are cumulative with each other.)

In disgust Shadow Malice takes their instruments back, insulted by your sullying them with your pretty awful performances.

With the drummer in a particularly foul mood grumbles under his breath about [smaller]"stupid pink and green skins..." and looks around ready to beat on your heads with his drumsticks is interrupted before bringing about violence by a 7ft tall muscular humanoid entering the room from the side door by the bar.

Added a new image to page 10 and medium version on map.

Belting out in a deep dirty voice "Ya already took their dignity, wouldn't be fair to take their lives too."

Lookin to y'all [b]"Why don't y'all move along, while I'm sure you could mess up the band, I'm sure Lallizanx and I could mess you up, and the bartender ain't too bad with a crossbow.

Oorgatch and Scarred One recognize the creature as an urdefhan... Humanoids from the underark, recognizable from their transparent skin with a propensity to drink blood and have demonic powers. Come to think of it the necrotic gas from the behemoth in the arena was probably from a Urdefhan. This one in particular is unarmed but given the size of his muscles you don't think he'd need any to be dangerous.

slashing+evil damage: 1d8 + 7 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 7 + (6, 6) = 27

Sendoski's defense is not as impressive, as the glaive sweeps into his legs, repositioning him deeper into the hallway and away from his friends.

Additionally, infernal worms immediatly infest the wound, attempting to devour Sendoski from the inside out.
1d6 persistent bleed, flat 20 to remove

Naught comments before hiding among Sendoski's clothes. "Infernal wounds are notorious difficult to heal, but also deadly"

The DC to Administer First Aid to a creature with an infernal wound is increased by 5. A spellcaster or item attempting to use healing magic on a creature suffering from an infernal wound must succeed at a DC 21 counteract check or the magic fails to heal the creature.

Also I need a DC 14 fort for Yan, these infernal creatures and their summons sure are filthy

Sendoski (30/57) IW 1d6

Yarr.

I'm looking for 4-5 players for the 3 chapter Abomination Vaults Adventure Path. My plan is to GM the entire set but it's always possible that things may change between books.

While I'm not quite as fast as posting as I used to be (I once ran a Confirmation pbp in 4 days), you should be able to post a bit more often than the 1/day standard for many games on these forums. I tend to get antsy and bot people forward after about 20 hours of inactivity.

I'll be finalizing my decision on who to take by late (PDT) Sunday the 11th and getting started on the game a few days after that once we get our details sorted out.

To apply please post here with the following information:

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far (I'm mostly just curious but try and include at least 1 new player in all my low level pbps)

2. Something awesome about yourself.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing. A brief bit of description/background/mechanics is plenty.

If selected by game time you'll need a functioning profile on Paizo with headers etc so that I can easily reference your sheet as needed.

We'll be using Google Slides for handouts/maps etc so you'll need to have regular access to that as well.

Please take a look at the Player's Guide for information regarding the campaign.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to post those as well.

Innnnteresting.

1. I am not particularly experienced with P2e, but I'm currently playing in two other 2e PbPs (one @L1, one @L5), so I'm learning.

2. My name is also Rob.

3. My current characters are a Ranger and a Cleric, so I'd probably avoid those classes. If we were to have a 5-player party I think I'd like to try the Investigator, who would likely be a precocious teen detective. I'm also interested in trying a spontaneous caster and I'm always happy to play a martial when one is needed.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I would love to play!

1) I'm very experienced. I run a (formerly FtF) tabletop game of Age of Ashes and I GM uh, several, online APs here on Paizo.

2) I've been playing D&D/Pathfinder since 1977. I've been going to GenCon since 1980. I have two little boys who have never seen any genre movie, but can immediately name the soundtrack to almost all of them.

3)I've been toying with three character concepts lately. The first is a kobold ranger who specializes in traps. He's a former sewer dragon of Absalom who was awed by the arrival of Pathfinders in his little home. The second is a tower-shield bearing champion/swashbuckler (a reaction tank) refugee from the fall of Lastwall. The third is a fast-talking martial artist rogue who's a con man hiding out from a criminal organization. To show that I -can- follow directions, I guess I'd be most interested in the rogue.

Thanks for the consideration!

1. I'm a PF2 early adopter. I've been participating in PbP for a few years now. It's essentially my home region.
2. I lived and worked in Malawi for a year building capacity for pediatric HIV care.
3. I have two builds that I'd like to try out given the chance: one is to attempt a port of a home game PF Oracle who is a gambler who "won" the wrong hand and picked up a cursed pirate coin, the other is more of a mechanical experiment making a strength-based swashbuckler.

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far (I'm mostly just curious but try and include at least 1 new player in all my low level pbps)
A little bit. I've been GMing PFS2 for tiers 1-2 for a while now, I have about 15 GM credit or so. Slightly less experience as a player, as my PFS lodge doesn't seem to want to GM PF2 a lot, though I'm picking it up with PbPs. I have a fair amout of PbP experience. Don't know if I want to call myself a veteran, but I've played in *checks* like 12? campaigns/APs (parts)Modules/Quests.

2. Something awesome about yourself.
Oh, eh... Not sure about "awesome," but I think we've played together before, in the Iron Gods campaign. I was Forlen, if that rings a bell. Not sure if that's a positive or negative, but at least you have an impression of my playing style, I guess.
I'm Dutch, so I probably live in a different time zone and will post at different times than most of you (my guess is mostly during American afternoons/nights). I am near a computer most of the time and I'm diligent about checking my PbPs regularly, so that shouldn't be a problem.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing. A brief bit of description/background/mechanics is plenty.
To be honest, I haven't really thought of a character yet, I just jumped into the recruiting form. I do think I'd like to try a Swashbuckler or a Rogue. Not just brute power, but something more... refined. Though obviously I'm willing to change if someone else really wants to play this role as well. Is that enough? I tend to develop the actual character while building/playing, so I can't really say beforehand what the character will look like.

Shadow Lodge

1. I have a single PbP under my belt, with a few more VTT games as well, along with a run of Plaguestone. My 1E PbP experience is extensive.

2. I am TOZ. Most say that's awesome enough.

3. I haven't tried a lot in 2E yet beyond my Ulfen alchemist and cleric of Shelyn. I have a couple staple characters I could try rolling but nothing in particular in mind. I've open to fitting in what the team needs, so I will read the players guide for inspiration.

Verdant Wheel

I'd like to submit Hammid for application - a Desert Elf Ruin Delver Cleric / Archeologist

1) Coming up on my second Glyph as a Society GM - perhaps by the middle of summer?

2) I created a sharable Google Doc to get New Players started in Society Play (linked in my GM / DM / QM alias campaigns)!

3) Mechanically, Hammid should play a bit like Kyra but with an emphasis on rogue-ish skills, leaning fully into the Ancestral Longevity chain of elven feats. Personality wise, he will probably start off as guarded, being over a century old, but will readily share the love of "shedding light" on ancient knowledge as the party plumbs to the depths of the Abomination Vaults! In terms of Gods, I was thinking maybe Ra or even the Cosmic Caravan depicted in the Player's Guide?...

Good luck folks!

Id love to play in Abomination Vaults. I’ve been looking to play a PF2e game.
No experience playing but I’ve been making characters via HLO and reading. Not new to PF or pbp but it has been awhile for each. Haven’t done much with The Society.
Something awesome about myself? I have two cats, solid black one and solid blue/gray except for faint rings around the end of his tail. Also, I love playing most any kind of game.
Sorcerers are my favorite class. Being able to toss fire about is so interesting to me. Of course, I’ve learned to be careful with fireballs after burning down a barn. But ssshhh, that’s a secret.
I’m thinking maybe a half elf sorcerer or maybe a druid. The sorcerer would have the Bibliophile background and she would be off to find a rare book that Morlibint heard was in the Vault.

Grand Archive

Hi!

1) I'm very experienced with 2e and PbP, though most of my PbP experience comes from 1e. I've played Age of Ashes completely and most of Agents of Edgewatch in real time. I dropped from AoE at the end of book 4 because of time constraints for a Sunday game in real time. I was also disappointed on what the AP chose to focus on and didn't find it very fun to play.

2) I'm graduating with my masters in library science on May 8th! Don't ask me about my student debt because that's not so awesome.

3) I'm planning on doing a monk that hopefully can use Rain of Embers Stance (if you make it accessible). His background is Ruin Delver as he loves exploring abandoned or ruined locations and think about the "once was". He follows the laws of mortality and will be focusing on medicine and probably thievery. He will be taking the Bastion Archetype and will be a nice tanky character. If we used the free archetype rule (which I've never had the opportunity to try), I'd probably switch Laws of Mortality to worshipping Irori so I could take Champion Dedication on top of Bastion for Champion's Reaction.

1. I'm a 3-Glyph GM. I typically have 1-2 PbP's going at any given time; it scratches my creative itch.

2. I design, co-edit, and publish a yearly poetry journal that has been running since 2006.

3. At this time, a melee character with the Marshal archetype and Bibliophile background looks promising. My PCs generally gravitate toward the comedic and/or spooky.

Thank you,

— Doug

Good morning, not very experienced with PF2 that much, but have done PbP a bit, even started GMing my first game this week! Not much social life so getting to play anything is worth while.

2) I’m both a security guard and in the navy reserves. I’ve also work the shipyards and drove a semi truck.

3) Alchemist is my favorite class, so seeing how he tastes in PF2 would be really interesting. Pending what the party needs, is either go strength based feral, or DEX based bomb thrower. Race would ultimately depend on which route I take, probably Orc or Elf respectively

Hey! Bernie here. I'm very much interested in joining.

1. I've completed two PBP campaigns as a player, and several PFS modules. Currently in a War for the Crown campaign.

2. You know me pretty well from PFS games and (a long time ago) an in-person Kingmaker game. I once played a character that didn't have a +20 Diplomacy!

3. Truc Kifeda Pham grew up in Otari. His father, who's Bonuwat, runs a fishing business (though he's been getting a bit old). He's been a student in Qadira, studying to be a physician, but recently returned to help with the family business and, as a nice side benefit, helped with some troubles in Otari... (I'm rebuilding him a bit — I played him as an Investigator/Ranger in that module, but think I want to change the archetype. He's Bonuwat/Tian-Sing and on the path to do Shory Aeromancy stuff.

Erp, sorry. I thought this was an adventure path starting at a bit higher level. Still interested, but would want to do a different character...

I am most definitely interested.

1. I am in a few PBP's now but am still relatively new to it. I have lots of experience with PF2 though (2 glyphs, former VC) and have been part of PFS since Season Zero.

2. I run a ghost tour company in Canada and love me some spooky stuff.

3. I am more than happy to fill gaps in the rest of the party. I usually like to build quirky characters with unusual combinations that are fun to play with. Currently playing a Duskwalker Hobgoblin, a hilarious Gnome Barbarian specialized in throwing large objects and a Halfling Cleric of Abadar who runs a "slightly used dungeon goods" business on the side.

Will give some thought to an interesting character that can fill any gaps in the rest of the party.

Hey hey! I'm also very interested in playing!

1. I am fairly experienced with PFS2/2e/pbp, having both played and run games. And as far as APs, I most recently played through the first three books of the Ruins of Azlanti in Kate Baker's pbp. (Although that's been a few years ago now...)

2. While we know each other pretty well already from our local Pathfinder scene, I'll simply say that I have an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco.

3. I'm thinking a male changeling Witch, leaning into the familiar options. Perhaps his Patron has some connection to the Gauntlight or the Abomination Vaults, I'm not really sure. But character arc/development is always fun for me when I play games.

Thanks for your consideration!

Read through many posts, thank you all so far for your applications, it's especially fun reading about how you're all awesome.

No issues with most uncommon options like ancestries etc. Backgrounds from other APs should stay with those APs and we'll pass on Amnesiac.

Rain of Embers despite being rare is most likely fine.

I'm personally not overly fond of alignment so will likely keep the various protection spells inaccessible. Any specific rarity issues can be worked out together once we've got our group picked.

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far
Fairly experienced: 84 PBP games, 30 PF2, 54 SFS.

In PBP I played Fall of Plaguestone and I am going through 3 books of Dawn of Flames (SFS AP). I play PBP non stop from mid 2019.

2. Something awesome about yourself.
Most of my PC's at lvl 2 get horse/pony/dog first and not +1 rune, why? Because I care of their wasted virtual lives walking and their sore feet :D

I like builds that are fun to RP and not the ones that are most efficient.

I am practicing man trailing with my dogs, sometimes I post from my phone while hiding in a bush and waiting to be found ;) I went once on a 64-kilometer trek carrying 44 lbs of equipment (tent, rations, clothing), I crossed rivers, glaciers, and other rock formations => that might be one of the reasons why my PC's have a horse :D

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character

The concept that I am lately working on is an old Orc Veteran that failed to find his glorious death in battle and becomes a druid. An outcast that due to serious injuries is unable to use more advanced weapons but still knows how to wield a shield. However, I know that in AP synergy of the team is the key so I am fairly flexible.

All in all, I play on paizo forums since 2019 and I never got to play with you PirateRob, few times I tried to get to your games but never got a chance.

Horizon Hunters

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far?
Fairly newbie, I've played a few society games on both pathfinder 2e and starfinder but I've read most of the books and has a basic understanding of the rules in fact I'm planning to test myself as DM in the near future.
I however am not too familiar with the spell lists nor some classes that haven't played like ranger, druid or most archetypes.
Also I used to be an optimizer back in 1e but now I'm more about making thematic builds as archetypes and feats in 2e are much more forgiving and flexible.

2. Something awesome about yourself.
Now that's a hard one... Well I'm a trans girl from Venezuela, I like to read and play all sorts of video games and tabletop rpgs, I also consider myself an Otaku as I really like anime and Japanese stuffs, I work as a clerk in a shop and study to be a teacher.
I'm also a huge fan of Lovecraft and like both fantasy and sci-fi often mixing both.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing.
To be honest I was half building a character for this adventure based on the player guide info, a fighter who uses a polearm and takes the witch archetype to get some magic and a familiar.
Ancestry would be half elf or maybe something else if other more exotic options are available like changeling and as for background I think I'll go for being Wryn's friend "stargazer".

Overall this adventure looks interesting as it apparently will involve a lot of encounters and I'd like to deal damage as a fighter for once (I tend to play casters) AND it has a Lovecraftian flavor that I can't miss! The player guide mentions both Groetus (pretty much Groth in my eyes) and Yog-Sototh!

Silver Crusade

Hmm not super big on dungeon crawls but I’ll make an exception for players/GMs I like. Only perhaps the bare beginnings of a character idea at best atm though, so I’m going to muse on it

Quite a bit. (See GM Gustavef) Mostly behind the screen but I get to play from time to time.

2. Something awesome about yourself.

I am a defrocked IT professional who has become and actor. Though I still have lots of down time so I run quite a few tables online, (mix of PbP and VTT) I also still think Pluto is a planet.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing. A brief bit of description/background/mechanics is plenty.

I am thinking of Syd Tern, a (half or full) orc sewer cleaner and "locator of things." from Absalom. Though taking an extended leave to get out of the big city and settled down in Otari. But strange things afoot cuaght his attention and is willing to pitch in and see what he can do.

Mechanically Ranger of some sort with the "Ruin Delver" background.

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far

I've done a fair amount of PFS society stuff on the boards here, but it's mainly been PFS1e. Haven't played any of the 2e APs yet. In a The Slithering game and on book 2 of a Wrath of the Righteous game though!

I've been kinda waiting for Covid to be over to get back into PFS2e more, especially with my local group. But this is an opportunity I don't want to miss!

2. Something awesome about yourself

I can lick my elbow.

Planning a few backpacking trips this summer. Live in the PNW so have fabulous access to the outdoors.

I also got into roleplaying by playing the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Before, I didn't even know what a d20 was! Really enjoyed it and the people I was playing with wanted to start a 5e game. Played 5e off and on for maybe a year before switching over to Pathfinder.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing. A brief bit of description/background/mechanics is plenty

I'm one of those people that don't plan too much in advance and like my character to evolve as we play.

According to the players guide, there are new archetypes in the AP. Haven't looked them up yet as I don't want to spoil myself, but tempted to use one of these archetypes.

For character build, leaning towards a Lizardfolk barbarian or oracle - two classes I haven't had the chance to play yet.

AS for PFS2, I've been playing it since it came out, including running it at Gen Con during the premier. I got in almost 50 table credits as GM, and have played or run nearly all of the PFS2 scenarios at this point. I am also running 2 campaigns of Age of Ashes.

As for play-by-post, I have been running and playing PBP games since 2014. No clue how many of them... you'd think I would be better at it by now!

2. Something awesome about yourself.
I am one of the organizers of SkålCon, our local charity convention. This year will be our 7th running of the convention, which has, to date, raised over $34,000 for our charity, Tubman

No great ideas, yet. I am pretty open to playing just about anything. I would love to fill in any role that the party has open.

Playing with ideas... though some ancestries might be interesting.

A few possibilities are: An orc "fighter" who plays up the "big dumb brute" routine before he stuns you with his ingenuity...

As I haven't played with any characters with companion animals, perhaps a halfling druid who's befriended an interesting creature who he treats like his brother...

I also may play with a versatile heritage or something... but whatever the party needs, from a front line smasher to a healer to a caster, I am willing to pull off and will have fun doing it!

Ok the above were just examples of my characters but I have thought of who I would want to play.

Brocket the Dwarf, uncharitably nicknamed Bogbreath by the local children, is often seen engaging in an unhinged rant about monsters and voices in the swamp on the corners of Otari. He is treated with kindness by the locals as an expert on the Fogfen Swamp. Though initially distrusted and reviled by many in town, he earned a place of respect when he rescued a local child who wandered into the swamp many years ago. Since then, the local merchants treat him with kindness and feed him when he isn't off crawling through the swamps. He has been a local fixture for so long that most can't remember a time when he wasn't around.

Some say he can draw upon occult powers that he draws from the darkness itself, or even the ghosts of the swamp, though that may only be baseless rumours. All the same. he has survived in an unforgivable environment for longer than most could, so he must have some means to defend himself. He is often hired as a scout by those looking to explore the local haunts.

Brocket will be a Dwarf with the Fogfen Taleteller background. Leaning toward a Witch (Night), or maybe a Ranger but class etc. is flexible.

In keeping with the mildly unhinged nature of this character, I am thinking any magical abilities he has will be explained away by him as pulling assistance from other dimensions or the darkness itself. So a mirror image might be a matter of temporarily pulling versions of himself partially through the veil separating us from other dimensions to serve as a distraction. Definitely someone who means well but has been touched by contact with some darker forces.

Genevieve was once an archetypal princess trapped in a tower out on the Fogfen by a witch. When nobody came to rescue her, she took matters into her own hands and started working her way down the tower’s monster-filled levels with a mixture of luck, tenacity, and the help of her tiny fey friend Hayseed. Now, she can hardly go back to being a princess after all that rough and tumble—particularly since she doesn’t even know where she’s a princess *of*—so she’s trying her hand at the one thing she knows she isn’t bad at: fighting monsters in dungeons. Hayseed, who is now her girlfriend/agent, is off in the First World facing disciplinary action for dereliction of duty (“Your job is to make buttercups reflect on the chins of people who like butter, NOT assisting the idle rich in disputes with local herbalists!”) and is currently not with her.

Mechanically, she’s a human rogue with the ruffian racket. She’ll be taking the familiar master archetype for Hayseed, who will get “demoted” to a raven, at least for the time being

Trying to keep it summarized, if I mis-represented you, I'll fix it quick!

1. How experienced are you with PFS2/2e/pbp so far (I'm mostly just curious but try and include at least 1 new player in all my low level pbps)
I've done a few pbp for PF1e as well as a few for 2e. I've run most of PFS Year of the Open Road scenarios for my home group along with running the first book for Extinction Curse and currently running Agents of Edgewatch. All that to say I'm extremely familiar with PF2e.

2. Something awesome about yourself.
I'm a very relaxed person. I like the foucs to be on having fun when I GM and try to create a bit of fun for others when I play. Take for instance my Halfling Barbarian from PF1e who had a focus on intimidating with his lucerne hammer. I can also be very analytical when I need to be.

3. I like recruiting players rather than characters but I would like bit of info on the character you're most interested in bringing. A brief bit of description/background/mechanics is plenty.
I tend to focus in on a particular aspect of play when I make a character. Currently I have been interested in characters with a focus on buffing and benefitting others. I have two NPCs like this in my Edgewatch game that fill in the group when I'm down to three players for the night. For this game I would like to continue that foucs on buffing others by making Bard or a Cleric. I currently have a PFS bard I could switch over to Abomination Vaults here: Ra'Sta Fa'Rian. I'd most likely change his background to a bibliophile and work on his story from there.

I'll be finalizing my decision on who to take by late (PDT) Sunday the 11th and getting started on the game a few days after that once we get our details sorted out.

Hey, would love to be considered.

1. I'm very expereinced with Pf1 pbp but I have not had the opportunity to play pf2e at all. I've theory crafted a lot about the system though and I think it's my favourite rpg system. Can't tell until I play of course!

2. I've almost finished running a Starfinder game on these boards! We're on the last book of that so that's a charge for me personally.

3. Either a ranger as I want to try to try a two weapon fighter build that can swing away like a mad person, or an alchemist that brews helpful potions for everybody else.

1. I've played PFS2/2e since it was launched and I've been playing PbP games for about a year now.

2. I've been playing RPGs since 1977 I'm pretty sure I still have the box for the 1977 Dungeons and Dragons basic set hidden away in a closet (I definitely still have the boxes for the first edition of Gamma World and Marvel Super Heroes RPGs I can see them right now sitting atop the original GURPS basic set box-Ugh too many old games cluttering up the computer room.)

3. I've been pondering about a character for days now and I think I've decided on an investigator named Ludwig Jager, a hunchback born to Ustalav nobility. Despite being the firstborn, he was rejected by his parents due to his deformity and sent to live with his wealthy aunt on her estate outside Absalom. He flourished under the guidance of his highly intelligent aunt, taking on her surname and eventually leaving to study medicine at the University of Lepidstadt. He hopes to one day be able to somehow cure his deformity.

Yarrr.

Thank you all so much for applying. With 20+ applications there's always the sadness that comes with not being able to bring you all with me.

After much careful consideration I've gotten to 5 I'd like to invite to join me and see no further need to keep recruitment open.

Junelee
Dough Hahn
Doug Henderson
Farol
Silbeg

Please come join us in discussion. To the rest of you better luck next time.

It's five months after this recruitment ended and I just found this link. I really enjoyed reading all of the awesome things about the potential adventurers to this game.

Loads of fun!
