I actually find is fairly close to the standard fighter/wizard/cleric/rogue party. Classes are named differently but we have all of that covered. champion/witch/druid/swaschbuckler, but more of our classes can go into melee (3 out of 4)
I am more afraid of our lack of flexibility, like: how would we handle swarms, incorporeal creatures, resistances etc.
Either way, I think we are good.
Re Swashbuckler - yeah, I hear you. When I tried that class it felt so, one-dimensional. Between Max dex, some CON, and STR there is very little that he can commit to. Feat wise he needs to put them into class feats as otherwise, he might miss his potential. And then there is a restriction to weapons. Amazing damage potential but it felt too reliant on your teammates to keep you alive, handle skill checks etc. etc. But I have no experience at higher levels so maybe it changes with time.
Ok. I made my decision. I am going with Mauler dedication Why this and not fighter decidation? I want to try some knockdowns, and it would work in both animal form as well as using Wild Morph or any of the weapons.
SO: Battle Medicine and Mauler dedication. These are my changes.

As an FYI, and a lack of awareness on my part, I've learned/remembered a few things about Oorgatch.
First, his background gives him assurance in medicine. Because of this, I think my plan is going to be to get Battle Medicine at 3rd level (since it is still a little dangerous at 2nd), and then at 4th level, I will take the Medic archetype.
Thinking back on my choices, and why I chose Eldritch Anatomist, this makes a lot of sense.
On the other hand, it is a known fact that you cannot have too much healing in a party, so that's cool, too!
Yan Tovis |
Yan will have incorporeal covered in several ways, at least. He and oorgatch should purchase bombs when we get funds too, which will help with swarms.
Yeah, multiple battle medicines is actually a really good strategy.
Pirate GM |
I think there's some miscommunication going on with the Mites here. They are saying don't be outside in the swamp because the dragon is out hunting. No issues with further exploring Gauntlight etc.
GM Doug H |
Scarred one agrees to the plan
"Maybe we will see the dragon from up there" wonders
Did we identify those potions? ;)
Hah. We bought Oorgatch the tools but he never rolled. I think it's a secret check.
Yan doesn't mind waiting a few minutes while we do so.
Pirate GM |
Just like for IDing magic items we'll have you roll, if I really need it to be secret for some reason I'll make it work.
Feel free to roll to ID them here in discussion and it'll have happened some time earlier.

I frequently have this delusion of keeping up with pbps during cons and generally fail at it.
Lets just take a break till after PaizoCon.
GM Doug H |
The Dougs will be bored together! (I decided not to do the con and study for my upcoming exam instead).
Sendoski Osprey |
Some of my favorite scenes came from the two Dougs being left alone in a pbp during a con!
I decided not to go to the con by having two kids in the last three years.
Oorgatch |
Sounds like a good plan (waiting). Sorry Dougs.

Yeah, I was not taking part in PaizoCon but had my own crazy family weekend.
Either way, I am back and alive.

One more session... and then some sleep... and then Oorgatch will be back!

Snuck in some extra time and got a post in. We're back in business (although I am playing at a table tonight with Silbeg.)
Scarred One |
Btw. I saw that I did not update my know spells :( Last time I used Shillelagh, Pummeling Rubble, as a third I would like Shattering gem
Given that I am late and the fight has begun I will wait for GM, to ok the list before casting anything.

No objections, happy to have you manage your own prepared spells. If it makes you feel better to post great, if you want to write it down on a scrap of paper near your computer or update your profile, whatever works for you.
Scarred One |
Yeah, I do it more, as druids are preparing their spells from the list. My excel is not updated with the list so I want to try to avoid people thinking:
"Oh, we encountered an aberration, and now Scarred One has Shillelagh prepared. How convenient..."
So I try to make my choices more visible and upfront.

Hey Scarred one,
We were thinking of creating a chat channel to facilitate OOC discussion and help keep things moving. This is of course 100% optional but if you would like, please join us on Slack! (I know the rest of us have access to Slack already.)

@Pirate Rob & All - the next week I will have a spontaneous vacation. I am not certain if I will be able to post on daily basis, I should, but I can't say for certain.
I will fill the botting section for Scarred One if you would have to bot me.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Pirate GM |
I'm in Santa Cruz for the weekend so my posting is a bit slower than normal and with potentially less bells and whistles than normal.

I spent something like 5.5 hours at the boardwalk with the 5 year old today. My update will have to wait till I have 2 braincells to rub together again tomorrow.
Scarred One |
I will delay and wait for the enemy
Scarred One |
Yan just fyi, scarred one has reach weapon so he threatens the bug where he is, i think you were on the other side before
Oorgatch |
I'll be visiting my wife's family in WI this weekend, so I won't be posting until Sunday evening, likely.
Scarred One |
Ok, Scarred One is updated:
- Perception and Fortitude Save -> Expert,
- General feat Toughness -> 45 HP,
- 2nd level spells (need to look through them),
- Skill Increase expert in Medicine,
- heightened cantrips and focus spells
- animal forms added
My concept of a Jack of All Trades, Master of None is Beefy ;)

Leveled:
Skill feat: Assurance Athletics
Class Feat: Inspiring Marshal Stance
--
Here is my new stance macro — let me know if you need anything changed.
Inspiring Marshal Stance, DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28 => Stance is a 10' aura.
Success As critical success, but your aura's size doesn't increase.
Failure You fail to enter the stance.
Critical Failure You fail to enter the stance and can't take this action again for 1 minute.

leveled:
Ancestry: Ghost Hunter (I'll put Disrupting on the weapon too)
+1 Str, +2 con, _2 wis, +2 cha
Intimidation => E
Oorgatch |
Ancestry: Scar-Thick Skin
Deception => E
+2 STR, +1 DEX, +2 WIS, +2 CHA
Precise Strike 3d6
Weapon Expertise
All in all, a pretty beefy level for me, getting expert on weapons, and more damage.
Hopefully I can do more with deception…
Scarred One |
ancestry: Mask of rejection
Religion => E
+2 STR, +2 CON, +2 WIS, +2 INT
Lightning Reflexes - Ref save E
Spells lvl 3
Scarred One |
Ok progression:
Class Feat: Opportunist (from Fighter Dedication) - nothing else is interesting at that lvl
Skill feat: Intimidating Glare (from lack of better choices)
Extra spell would go to fireball ;)
Oorgatch |
Progression:
- Skill Feat: Godless Healing
- Class Feat: Precise Finisher (still do full finisher damage on a miss, instead of half)
Both should be good for the hapless Oorgatch (who possibly a werewolf now)

Sorry folks till 10th i will be man trailing with my dogs , so it in the woods without access to slack. Please bit me if needed
Pirate GM |
I think it's 1 action to dismiss, so don't have access to a 3 action heal, We'll bot in a few hours if needed to sort out your turn.

Used the beads for an extra heal spell.
De-morph + double single action heal.
Touching adjacent willing allies seems like a precise sense and not in need to flat checks etc.

Thanks, i was certain that dismiss is a free action. Sorry about that!
