The paper reported that the kid who took the gun to school had 25 hollow pointed bullets on him and was NOT arrested.

A class I will be teaching next year: Dungeons & Dragons & Grammar
Sometimes, even rolling a natural 20 isn’t enough to get you past a boss--at least, not when the boss is grammar. Students will create characters, fight epic battles, and explore dungeons, all while learning about and implementing grammatical conventions. By the end of the seminar, even being an ogre with an intelligence of 7 and a perception of 10 won’t be able to stop you from toppling any grammatical boss that dares to challenge you. (WRIT, PROJ)

Whoa, and cool! Life is crazy... The gun violence is getting out of hand... D&D in school curriculum, never would have seen that when I was younger!

Greycastle |

Yeah, D&D definitely a has taken a few steps toward main stream from when I started.

Why would you need to? You get a +2 and a +1 that you can put anywhere, which you have taken from the original creation.

Ah, I see. So, for saves you can add your proficiency because of your class. Sometimes, if you are using Athletics and are proficient, you can add the bonus, but for the brute force type actions, it is straight Strength mod.
I will usually tell you when you can use a proficiency / skill for a check, but if you can think of a way to use a skill or a toolkit proficiency, I may allow you to add your proficiency if I think the idea has merit.
For example, because this is dwarvish steel, perhaps you can use your proficiency with Smith's Tools to check for imperfections to take advantage of... Especially, since this is Duergar craftsmanship... ;)

Heading into the long weekend on both sides of the border: Friday is Canada Day* for us northerners; Monday is uh... Freedom Day? US Day? Oh, Independence Day! Have a great one, gang! :D
I'm headed on vacation on the 5th -- I'll be out of the country for a couple of weeks. I'll still have internet access, but my response time will likely be slow. Feel free to bot me as needed.

Yesterday was fun, got sexually harassed when a student decided to write about the types of guys that he likes in detail and got called my first name by a kid who uses the f bomb every other word.

I hear ya on this one... I feel much the same way... Add the current problems in the States with Roe v. Wade overturned and Corporate Greed, and I really want to move to Japan with my wife and hide away. (Japan has its problems too, but damn...)
@Rodalas, that sounds rough... The things that educators have to go through, and the expectations that they are burdened with... things have to change.

I reported it to the principal and then filed a grievance against the student with the OEOS Office. If students can do that to teachers for less, it is time that they get to learn that their actions have consequences No one needs to know who a student is attracted to just like they don't need to know the same about me.

Oh s@@*, Rodalas -- I'm so sorry.
May his memory be a blessing

Thank you. I am planning to keep posting as I am able, the holiday weekend throws schedules out of sorts so there is still a few things that have to be done prior to the arrangements being made for the funeral.

Rodalas Windrace |

Today it is my fault that they do not know how to write a thesis despite going over how to do so a few times and giving them practice which most of them did not do.

Greycastle |

My father's funeral Mass will be TH, intermit of creaming at a later date.
I’m sorry for your loss Rodalas.

Ah, welcome back! Go ahead and post. Roll initiative and I will spot you in. You would not have been caught in the trap. He could only catch two.

@Umikh: Welcome to Canada! Where abouts in Ontario will you be visiting?
I lived in Sudbury, ON, for four years, but that's a bit far out of the way for people who don't know about it (it's four hours north of Toronto).

We visited Stratford. Saw a few Shakespeare plays and explored the small town. Had a great time.

I am sorry to say that I am going to need to step away from the table. RL has prevented me from even looking to see how the game has been going. Hopefully when things settle down again I will be able to adventure with you all again.

Sorry to hear, Rodney, but I had expected as much. We hope to run with you in the future!

Baldrick Longhall |

Sorry to see you go, Rodney!

This marks the end of this section. I think I need to either take a break or give it up entirely. I have been working on my Yapon Campaign, as well as some game design. I am taking on the ambitious task of trying to retool 5e to present 4 basic classes and everything else is archetypes and all classes get access to archetypes from level 2.
Greycastle want to pick this one up again?
Thanks for all of your hard work!
That game design sounds interesting! I think re-tooling 5e to work the way you want it might be the best way to deal with WotC (I don't know the specifics of today's announcements, but it didn't sound like good news to me!).
I'm happy to keep playing, but obviously fine if people want to take a break. Please keep me in mind if you have a game that needs another player! PbP works well for me and I'm not currently playing any in-person games.

Thanks. There are some good advancements in the new Unearthed Arcana that I like, but at the same time, it seems very power-creepy to me. We will see. I love the new Background idea, but it seems to indicate that Feats will no longer be an optional rule...

Thanks for the game very much. I really want to keep this going and am sorry I was out of this game I lost the posting. If I owned the book and an adventure I would run something for us all. I will see if I can get it for cheap at half price
