Everyone that is sick, take care of yourselves and I hope for a speedy recovery!

Hey gang,
I'm away for the rest of the week -- be sure to post up your Round 3 actions and I'll resolve them on Monday.
Turquoise 'Turq' Barreltap AL |
Damn, sorry to hear that, bud. Wishing all the best for you! *fingers crossed* Maybe it will lead to a better opportunity!

Hey, Rodalas, did you get the Shadow of the Dragon Queen for D&D Beyond yet?

Hey, Rodalas, did you get the Shadow of the Dragon Queen for D&D Beyond yet?
I pre-ordered it from Miniature Market. It was cheaper than D and D Beyond page but I did pre-order the D and D book on Beyond so that I can use it.
I know Beadle and Grimm has some offer for it but I am not paying $400 for something unseen.
Rodalas Windrace |
Nice! Did it feel good? Likely to happen?
I was in there for about 45 minutes.
Funny thing, the Physics teacher quit on Friday and about half of the Science Department has interviewed at other schools.
Oh well.

FYI: I am having cataract surgery on Tuesday. 1 of 2. The other will be on the 21st, the day of the school Christmas party. Oh well.

I hope the eye surgery turns out well for ya! My mom was able to go without glasses for the first time in her adult life for many years afterwards. I'll probably need to get it someday, too.

It seems that there was a complication in the surgery, the device that is used to hold the eye open seems to have scratched my cornea. I have a contact on to help it heal and will see what happens tomorrow at the next check up

Hope things went better with the check up.

Having the contact was a damned if you dont and damned if you do situation. The contact protected the eye from further abrasion but also kept the air from hitting the eye to help it heal.

I'm running it for my group with heavy modifications. I actually had tried running this idea over a decade ago, so I will replace Vogler with my own little town and almost all the npcs with ones that I had made up back then.
Interesting thing is the Bakaris the Lesser angle. I had almost the exact same thing in my old game...

I don't like that the emphasis is on the Red Dragon Army (Though I do like the red dragon army) in that part of Ansalon. That was the Blue Dragon Army territory and Soth working with Kitiara and the Blue Dragon Army makes more sense.
Turquoise 'Turq' Barreltap AL |
Actually, it doesn't. They wanted to make the PCs run parallel to the Heroes of the Lance, so they deliberately chose one of the armies OTHER than the Blue.
I would have loved to have gone up against the Green Dragonarmy, myself. I might use them for my story, instead of Red, but they released Verminaard as a CR 18 threat with Ember too! (It is available free in the Monstrous Compendium on DDB!) The art for Verminaard is wicked!

I saw that, a cleric with hardly any cleric spells. :)
The Green, Black and White Armies are pretty much left alone in the novels and even the source material. The 3.5 War of the Lance book did a great job at giving the specifics of the Dragon Armies.
If I remember right, the Red Dragon Army was in Eastern Ansalon, not Northern. That was the army that invaded Silvanesti.
I kind of wish that they had left options to actually progress in the Knights of Solamnia orders. You can take them all at 4th level. :(

oh and the hoopak being a martial weapon is a little cringe. Should have just been a kender weapon familiarity.

I always assumed that the Green Dragonarmy invaded Silvanesti, which is why Cyan Bloodbane was there, not the Red Dragonarmy. I believe the Red Dragonarmy invaded Qualinesti.
As for the progression through the ranks of the Solamnic Knighthood, that is something that I intend to keep, though they do not need to take each feat to do so. I will also be reinstituting the required quests to progress through the orders.
As for the hoopak issue, that is easily remedied. Give it to kender free, Martial weapon for anyone else.

Okay, I had a chance to look at my old AD&D DLA book and know where I was confused. The Post-War territory for the Green Dragonarmy was in through Silvanesti. However, in Astinus' River of Time portion of the same book it says that the Dragonarmies took a three-pronged approach to conquering Silvanesti, implying that three different Dragonarmies struck the elves at three different fronts.
Anyway, as this book was written as a collaboration between Weis and Hickman, I am not sure if that changed when Weis took over solely with the 3.5e presentation.
For me, I will center my starting town around Blode and use the Green Dragonarmy as my main antagonist. It is also close enough that maybe they can go to Silvanesti near the end...

I had a PF1E game that I had started that was elven centric taking place in the Age of Mortals with an ancient elven foe being the BBEG. Sadly, the game fizzled.
Turquoise 'Turq' Barreltap AL |
Honestly, the only era that I have any real interest in is the War of the Lance...
Rodalas Windrace |
I like the Age of Mortals POST War of Souls but the time between WoL nd the Summer of Chaos was a great time as well.
Rodalas Windrace |
I do wish that they would have had more racial options like the Irda as a playable race and the sea elves. I like the Diminersti because they turn into otters.
Rodalas Windrace |
I think it would also have been helpful to give the various domains that the gods of Krynn have. I have not been a fan of the gods of Magic having clerics in Dragonlance. That was the role given to the Wizards of High Sorcery but IIRC there is an arcane domain in one of the rule books. I still would not allow that it a 5E game that I ran.

The first one was originally published on the Dragonlance Nexus but I do not think that it is there any more. They also were publishing an AP based off a DL video game. I do not think that they are on the DL Nexus anymore.
I did buy the pdf and am getting it printed as well. I like what I have seen so far and really do like the cover art.
