Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"I was told, his mother did. Please take care of everything. It will also be a sad ceremony. I don't think anyone but me will attend." A tear runs down her cheek.

"And if you know someone who can add the name of my father and my brother to the stone?"

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

"I will prepare everything. If you agree we can have a small ceremony tomorrow at 11 o'clock in the chapel. And I can arrange that a stone carver is there to make you an offer."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Yes please. I need to leave now." She wipes the tear away and leaves in a hurry.

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

Faerveren listened in to that conversation while standing at a different grave out of sight of the priest. A few moments later she leaves, but uses a different gate.

Once she closes up again to Persephone she offers a handkerchief. "Either you are tremendously good at acting, or you aren't as cold as you pretend."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Persephone accepts the white cloth. "It's the first time I got to see the family grave. And that greedy b+!~! didn't even write my father's name on it."

"Also to me my step brother is a spoiled brat that treated me as a maid like his mother taught him by example. But my father loved that little boy, just as he loved me. And he would be devastated about him being murdered."

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"Sometimes life sucks." Faerveren comments.

After a while walking in silence she asks "Where are we going now?"

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"We are going to buy cake." Persephone remembers a bakery she has come past a few times while working as a house maid for some rich family. Their goods have been beyoind what she could afford for a long time. But not today.

Kitsune Game Master

The bakery is still there, at the road between the old town and the old rich people's district. The shop is still open, but most of the goods are sold already. A plaited yeast bun with raisins is the closest to cake that is available.

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"Hi. I'll take that." Faerveren approaches the the person behind the counter and pays the requested abount.

"My treat."

Kitsune Game Master

The baker hands over the bun and asks for a silver in return.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Then let's call it a day."

Persephone walks home together with the half elf. "How about you telling me something about yourself and your family?"

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"There's not much to tell. I'm the second class kid in my family. My mum's husband didn't like it when the child she got had pointy ears. But I only get hidden in the coal cellar when we got important visitors. Otherwise it's fine."

"And currently I'm on holiday here in this nice town so the people in my hometown got some time to forget about my more obnoxious traits."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"I'd like to hear more about those obnoxious traits." Persephone replies, as that seems to be an entertaining topic to spend some time over tea and cake.

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

Back at Persephone's house sitting over cake and tea Faerveren tells some of the more interesting stories of her life how things she felt entitled to, but were denied to her kept disappearing mysteriously.

"As is became too obvious I had to take my hobby outside our household. But no one is born a master. And once everyone eyes you to make sure nothing gets 'lost', and first thing when something seems missing is a search of your room and body you might have overdone it."

"One of the nicer things was when I got this watch." she tells and shows a pocket watch, made of gold, with an engraving of the skyline of Magnimar. "It was on a ball held for some charity. Support of a library in an academy or something. The ladies of the society used to donate some old jewellery as an excuse to get new ones from their husbands. And some of the men discreetly donated some cash."

"But there was this one guy who was boasting to everyone who talked to him about this watch. How well made it is and how precious and expensive and everything. Someone spread the rumor he just wanted to make sure that everyone knows how valuable it is before donating it."

"When at the climax of the ball, all the donated things - where the donator didn't ask for anonymity - were then shown to the audience and applauded it was noticed that no pocket watch appeared. When inquired about that the man denied that he wanted to donate it and found that his watch were gone. But at that point everyone believed it was a coy to get out of making a donation. Made him look like a scrooge. Some didn't believe him and some said it serves him right."

"That time no one even thought of accusing me. Not that it would have helped. I hid it in the ridiculous hairdo of his wife that resembled a swan. When they left, I grabbed into her hair and got the watch and said 'excuse me, there was a spider in your hair', presenting a squished specimen the size of my hand. She shrieked and ran off, her husband after her, leaving me with this fine watch."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Ok, it is golden, but what is so special about this watch?" Persephone inquires.

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"Maybe that it properly measures time independent of the sun and isn't buzilt into a church spire? Most people you meet have never seen one. Besides that I don't know."

She turns the watch in her hand and then hands it over to Persephone to check herself.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Well, might as well be." Persephone agrees and hands the watch back.

She finishes her tea and cake and calls it a day. "That day was very eventful. I need some extra hours of sleep to be ready for tomorrow. Good night."

In the morning.

Then she goes to bed to. Into the master bed room.

The night brings a rainstorm to Abadon and the big raindrops trembling on the roof and the wind rattling at the window shutters cover all other noises. On the roads the water gathers into streams running towards the harbour. Looking outside everything further away than 20 feet is a blur. In the early morning the wind abates and the rain slows down.

Nevertheless the bell of the Abadar Temple reminds the town that the day starts.

In the old part of town the loamy ground of the streets is wet and slippery. But the water has taken along all the dirt and garbage that massed up here and there. In the new part, the cobble stone roads are now reddish brown like the roads uphill.

Also reddish brown is the water in the harbour and patches of garbage and dirt are floating between the ships.

The sky is grey and covered in clouds as far as the eyes can see.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

After dawdling away most of the morning Persephone puts on the black dress again and leaves the house to attend the mourning ceremony for her half brother.

Walking through the streets covered in puddles is no fun in a dress that's supposed to stay clean. But the air outside has this nice clean smell that lifts her mood. She arrives a little early at the chapel on the cemetery. She checks her posture and mood to appear properly as a mourning sister. She takes a breath and opens the door to the chapel.

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

Father Grimburrow took the morning to prepare for the ceremony. He was on his way even before the bell to retrieve the body of the boy. He wished Vorkatos was around to help with that. Pushing a cart through town is no fun, especially after a night of rain.

He is welcomed at the guard and led into the premises. After stating his business and some formalities two guards bring the body, wrapped in a rough white linen cloth and place it on the cart.

The way back is even more demanding. The weight of the boy doesn't ass much, but the uphill walk makes Father Grimburrow break a sweat. Back at the cemetery he pushes the cart to the family crypt of the Pembrooke's. He unlocks the oaken door opens it and waits a few minutes for the stale air to get out. Then he picks up the body and puts it inside on the empty ledge on the side where Peter found his resting place.

He locks the door again, moves the cart away into the small yard besides the chapel. Then he prepares the chapel. He puts two large candles on brass holders on the altar and lights them. Last he changes into his festive priest garbs and sits down on the front bench waiting for the 'congregation' of mourners.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Persephone silently enters and takes a seat next to Father Grimburrow. She nods at him for a greeting.

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

Father Grimburrow nods back and gets up. Placing himself in front of the altar he speaks a prayer to Pharasma.

He proceeds with a short devotional about the hardships of life and the cruel fate of the Pembrooke family in particular. And how appearing in front of Pharasma hopefully will lead to a more joyous place in the afterlife for the little boy. It is then, that he notices, that he hasn't asked the name of the boy.

He finishes the service with another prayer and closes with "let us remember that we are all on the path to Pharasma's Court and thus become wise."

Silence fills the chapel

"Let us walk to the last resting place." Grimburrow strides to the exit and opens the door, leading the way to the crypt.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Persephone hasn't attended to a service in a long time. And especially not one for Pharasma. Most of it sounds somewhat famliar as the sayings have found their way into common speech. She wonders though what judgement her little brother will get. He was an insufferable brat. Based on that it could go bad. On the other hand, he was murdered. Would that get him a bonus? She has to concentrate not to chuckle and smile on the thought she might have helped him to get a better afterlife.

As the service goes on she can't help but get annoyed. Don't talk bad of the deceased I guess. Blah, blah, blah. Can we get over it already.

She is glad as the last prayer is spoken and Father Grimburrow leads outside.

Another man enters the cemetery grounds through the northern gate and joins them in front of the crypt. "My deepest condolences to your loss." he tell the young woman with a slight bow.

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

"Miss Pembrooke, Mr. Burston. He is the stone carver you asked for."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Thank you." she replies to Burston.

"What will it cost to have the two names engraved, just like Eleanor's name? The names are Peter for my father and Michael for my Brother."

Burston takes a look at the existing writing. Stepping closer he wipes over it with his hand and feels the contours. "Including refreshing the old writings it would be three days work. That would cost three gold. If you want to leave the old writing..."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Make it pretty." Persephone cuts the talk short, gets three coins out of her pouch and hands them to Burston.

"While we are at it, what do you get for your service?" she asks Father Grimburrow.

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

Grimburrow lifts his hands in a defensive gesture. "It is my duty as a Pharasmin to offer this last service to the deceased. But of course you're welcome to make a donation. How much that is, is completely up to you."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Great. Can't you just tell a price. Now I have to find an amount where it doesn't feel like being cheap and also not throwing out money I have to earn the hard way again.

She hands Father Grimburrow also three gold coins. "Thank you for your service. It means a lot to me that you took care of this in this difficult situation."

"If you don't mind, I'd like to be alone here for a while."

Burston bows to the young lady "The work will be done withing two weeks. My condolences again." He leaves the way he came.

Male Human Cleric of Pharasma (7)

"Thank you. I'll be in the chapel if you need me."

Father Grimburrow slowly walks back to the sanctuary.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Persephone solemnly stands at the crypt. Thinking about the good days with mom and dad. Even the times with her dad and her little brother weren't that bad. It is just my stepmother that ruined everything.

Now that I got mostly rid of her it is a shame that I can't bring my family back, or can I?

She daydreams a while how it would be to bring back her mum and her dad and maybe even her brother and live as a happy family together.

But reality would be much darker. Even if it were possible, she would bring them back into a bankrupt home. And what about the age? Would they come back the age they died? Then Persephone would have caught up at least halfway to her mother. Her father also lived several years without his wife. And including an eight year old son from another woman won't be easy too.

But at first there is the issue that the culprit who caused all this misery is still alive. I need to find out what they are going to do with her. Don't want her to come back after some years of jail or something. At the end of the thoughts she notices something else. She has grown distant from her parents. Knowing what she did and the scheming she is involved in would leave them in shock. She isn't the cute little girl anymore. She is a strong woman that stops at nothing to reach her goals.

She turns, and as Father Grimburrow isn't in sight she decides to leave. She walks home to get out of the black dress and put on something more comfortable for a visit in The Pig's Whistle.

Faerveren sits comfortably in the kitchen as Persephone arrives. "You're back. How was it?" she inquires.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Expensive. Cost me three gold for the stone carver and three more for Father Grimburrow. Looks like dead people are more expensive than those alive."

"Otherwise it was a sad thing. Only me and the priest. The stone carver joined later at the crypt. I could have done without it, but I don't think that would have been well received with Grimburrow."

"Anyway, there is business I need to attend to. There are people alive that shouldn't be."

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"For a special reason, or are we killing people now just for the fun of it?" Faerveren asks with a raised brow.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"My step mom is in prison. But I don't really know what they are going to to with her. Maybe they let her rot. Or she gets another capital punishment. But it would suck if she would be let out sometime and I'd had to deal with her again. So I need to know what happens."

Female Half Elf Rogue (5) - Init +6 HP: 38 AC: 18/14/18 Saves: Fort +2 / Ref +8 / Will +3 Perc +14

"So you walk over and ask the guard about it? Or do you have a better plan? Sadly I haven't had the opportunity yet to build some connections so I don't know who to ask."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"I would try to ask Norm if he has heard something. If not we might need to find some connections now."

Persephone gets out of the black dress and puts it back into the wardrobe. She dons her peasant clothes and the chain mail. "I should get a crest of my own. Parading around with some unknown insignia might lead to questions, I don't have answers to." she comments as she packs the shield.

"Are you ready to come?" she asks as she leaves the house again.

Business is still slow at The Pigs Whistle. The place is prepared and the first customers are already there. Isabella stands behind the counter and draws an ale.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

Persephone looks around in the tavern, but as she doesn't see Norm she approaches Isabella. "Hi. Have you seen Norm?"

"Hi. No." Isabella puts an ale down in front of Persephone. "There is a one drink minimum, before asking questions."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Is business that slow, that you have to take such desperate measures?"

"No, but I need to earn enough money to get someone to scrub the floors. You know, since shaking your ass gets paid with serious money, no one is willing to do the hard work anymore."

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"Fair enough."

"Have you heard about the murder on the market? What will become of the murderer?"

"Yeah, who hasn't. What's your business in it?" Isabella inquires considering a meal requirement for details on that.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

"I buried the victim today."

"Oh, I'm sorry. My condolences." Isabella replies. She's embarrassed for putting her foot in her mouth. "Was it a relative of you?"

Discussion goes here

Kitsune Game Master

The cemetary has, as per the description more than one entrance.

M Dusk Elf Evoker 5| HP: 27/27 | AC: 18/14 T: 13 FF: 11 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +4 | Perc: +9| Init: +13 |

Well here they are. If you have any suggestions or even do not like an avatar, please say so.

The agile cannot be placed on a masterwork item. It must be +1, so no dex to damage right now.

I could swap out the shortsword for a kukri and go down the critical feat path. Really considering that.

Something to look forward to:
At 11th level, the attack penalties for fighting with two weapons are reduced by –1 for a two-weapon warrior. Alternatively, he may use a one-handed weapon in his off-hand, treating it as if it were a light weapon with the normal light weapon penalties.

Female Human Ranger (4)

I'm easily confused when different characters in my games have the same avatar. So if you don't mind I'd prefer Arawyn to have a different one.

Quick check looks like there is something wrong with your schools. You have necromancy and wood as opposition school. But those are from different school systems.

I think we had some open points about the back story. Some updates there?

M Dusk Elf Evoker 5| HP: 27/27 | AC: 18/14 T: 13 FF: 11 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +4 | Perc: +9| Init: +13 |

Fair enough. Enchantment.

Yeah, so these elves originated in the Kyonin forests and enjoy travel and exploring. How they work in with these misfits is a challenge that I believe will be worked out by finding a mutual desire to accomplish the same thing. My first thought was they were hired to gather information on Marinelli and would grow to dislike him as much as Persephone does.

Open to any suggestions.

Kitsune Game Master

You know the looks trustworthy scene?

Kitsune Game Master

But seriously: Big backstories are highly overrated. At least when it comes to joining a party. My favorite elf was just visiting a tavern to sell some hunted hares for silver and meet with an old friend.

Then she offered her services, when an expedition was discussed at the next table.

One easy thing would be to visit the House of Flame. It's a temple to THE elven goddes. You could simply visit the pig's whistle. Marinelli could do something to hurt elven woods. Like cutting down trees for timber. Or some trapper sets traps in the elven woods and has caught someones familiar (haven't seen which one you have) to sell as a pet, via Marinelli. At least if its a rare animal. There are plenty of ways to be there to meet. It is a bit harder to come up with a reason to join the case, but we'll manage. Just take something simple enough, that we don't trip over it later.

LOL. I do now.

The familiar is always well protected and close by. I think they would visit the pig's whistle as a way to get learn about the town. They are not into royalty and high religion at this point.

A bit about alignment. As Persephone would eventually end up evil - as casting evil spells does that by rule. I might need to houserule that differently, but I'm not sure yet, I see her more neutral.
But a few words about my understanding of it.

You do <alignment> because you want to and you oppose the opposing alignment. So, you're good, because you like to do good deeds and believe it is the right thing to do. You think evil is wrong. You do law(ful) deeds, because you like the law and think it should be enforced. If you don't give a s*$+ one way or the other, you're neutral.

You chose chaotic. This means in my world, that you despise the law. You might still stick to it, because you can't do anything against the ones enforcing it. But if you could get away with it, you'd trip a guard chasing a thief just because.

A neutral person could do good things to people they like and evil things to people they don't. Or might be honest to one and steal from another. If you choose an alignment that is not neutral, you go out of your way to do good/evil/lawful/chaotic stuff.

In game it has almost no consequences, but I'd like to have some backstory reason if it is not neutral.

M Dusk Elf Evoker 5| HP: 27/27 | AC: 18/14 T: 13 FF: 11 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +4 | Perc: +9| Init: +13 |

I picked up on the darkness in Persephone. Rapscallion could be quite a bit of trouble as well. I went neutral to get aligned with them. Elves tend to be CG, so we had some things in our past that shifted us. I see alignment exactly the way you do and P going evil....We shall see.

Kitsune Game Master

Why would dusk elves who live in the woods and like the night be in town? Your brother was eaten by a were-leopard?

The pigs whistle of course offers itself to be there for no specific reason. But your characters look too rich already for the job board. And without asking some questions you won't be pointed to F and P.

Some random robbery of a burial place (I'm not familiar with elf traditions there) and a search for a stolen family heirloom (a ring or so) might prove useful to get a quick setup, without long term obligations.

F Dusk Elf Two-weapon Warrior 5| HP: 39/39 | AC: 19 T: 16 FF: 13 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +6 | Will: +2 (+1 v fear) | Perc: +8 | Init: +11 |

Meanwhile at The Pig's Whistle

Would be the description of the scene change. The pigs whistle has the entrance with direct view to the bar at the opposing wall. The left end of the bar is lined up with the left of the door and goes to the right wall. Left of that is the door leading to the kitchen behind. Maybe one table to the right in front of the bar. The rest of the tables is to the left, as is the piano, where the larger part of this taproom.

Also right is the door to the stairs up to the rooms for rent. Feel free to enter.

F Dusk Elf Two-weapon Warrior 5| HP: 39/39 | AC: 19 T: 16 FF: 13 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +6 | Will: +2 (+1 v fear) | Perc: +8 | Init: +11 |

Even found an image of the two weapon fighter elf with two elven curve blades. Did not help the fact that I missed it was a two handed weapon. LOL. And, the reason the PC is a female. Put it on the slide for you entertainment.

Kitsune Game Master

Depending on how hard you want that: There is a fighter-archetype who is able to wield two handed weapons with a malus in one hand and can TWF them. Like two greatswords. It's some giant weapon wielder gone wrong.

Kitsune Game Master

I added the picture of the elven curve blade from UE to the maps. The ones on your picture look far too heavy.

F Dusk Elf Two-weapon Warrior 5| HP: 39/39 | AC: 19 T: 16 FF: 13 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +6 | Will: +2 (+1 v fear) | Perc: +8 | Init: +11 |

That archetype might be fun for a strength based fighter. Will have to locate that. I have a build almost identical to Arawyn at level 8. The rapier is just to get all the other pluses in play, so d6 v d10 is no biggie.

Kitsune Game Master

Found it. But it's no fighter, but a barbarian archetype, Titan Mauler

But a -2 on attacks is a high price for some more damage. Sadly the archetype is not compatible with Urban Barbarian.

Kitsune Game Master

I think your story is one step short of connecting with Persephone's. How about you meet with the priest of your choice to get the missing piece?

Because without it, there is no reason to tell you about their vendetta.

And the city is mostly safe. Menan could do that visit alone and come back later, if Arawyn doesn't want to quit already. ;)

And I just posted in that direction. LOL.

Mythic is so powerful. Have you ever played mythic characters? I am locally running a party through Kingmaker with mythic tier=character level. Current is 10/10. They go up against stuff that I think is tpk and the battle is over in 2-3 rounds and typically the party takes no damage. I am not using mythic that well either as I only delve into it when non mythic does not look so good. I am reading through their character sheets when I have the time to pick up on all the stuff they can do. That is a great deal to keep up with in yer head.

Really like pc_generator (spelled wrong on purpose) but you gotta check it. Elves treat weapons with the word elven as martial but as an elven fighter I am not proficient with the curve blade? I disagree with the generator on that one. And it checks me and finds stuff I would have missed. A good combo, but on my last group that made it to level 20 I generated some pretty cool spreadsheets that took all of the wild stuff and put it in your face.

In gameplay here I think we got off to a good enough start in that we know each other at this point and have a "meeting place."

Not sure where this is headed and how so. I picked up on a few hints. Keep it to yourself. I never read the pdfs for games I play :-) The Variels could end up doing about anything imo.

Kitsune Game Master

There are no pdfs for this game, so...

Mythic is overpowered. And doing it class level = mythic tier is abuse. I've played it in Wrath of the Righteous, the original adventure that introduced the mythic stuff. Its nice, especially the feats. But only as long as you don't bring mythic monsters. Then you have epic (read long) battles that leave burnt land.

How many windows and doors does our room have?

I suspect your are in Britain based on your use of the english language and posting times somewhere near GMT. :-) Please allow me to share an American tradition with you. May it be yours as well.

Actually I'm from Germany. UTC+1 at the moment.

We had the equivalent of Thanksgiving beginning of October already. Nice song.

Assumed that was common knowledge or even displayed on the temple. Not the case?

Kitsune Game Master

Nope. She is scheming and pulling strings and wants no one to know her real name. And for most people not knowing her name at all works too. At least that is the plan for now.

Also she is not the high priest.

Kitsune Game Master

High priest and the name known is Aredhel, who hasn't appeared in the game so far.

You are seven hours ahead of me. Works just fine imo. Schedule is crazy on/off right now and will be mostly on until year end and then some. I should always be able to post at least once a day regardless of what is going on. Used to take long weekend journeys down a river with multiple boats and no Internet/cell signal for days at a time. Believe those days are over.

I can see Menan saving Persephone from going to evil. He has disavowed necromancy and while no longer good but neutral, he still hates evil. That hatred and knowledge of how great it is on Golarion drove him neutral. She seems very free willed and difficult to influence. We shall see.

It's a pity Arawyn evaded the discussion.

Calistria is chaotic neutral by the way. If she wanted to be evil, the deity of choice would be Norgorber.

Kitsune Game Master

In some other games I placed a magic shop. But they are mostly higher level. I don't think it makes sense to have a magic shop in the classical sense in this little harbor town. there are divine scrolls and potions you can buy at the temples. There might be some scholar who also sells arcane scrolls, but I don't think a shopfront would make sense. with no real market for a large amount of items to change hands.

Well, looks like I get to investigate Persephone's truly evil act. How she is neutral at this point, idk. Forcing your step mother to kill your step brother. Whew. Should be interesting. I plan to do a thorough job on this investigation.

Muhahaha.

Female Human Oracle(5) - HP37 AC19/11/18 - F2/R2/W5 - Ini+6 - perc+1

But seriously, generally I'd say if an act is evil has a lot to do with underlying motive.

The means justify the end? We shall see.

Kitsune Game Master

In pathfinder for sure. There is a reason that "murder hobos" is a proper description for a group of adventurers. Even if there are LG pallies involved.

I'm curious to see how well you're able to keep player knowledge and character knowledge apart.

F Dusk Elf Two-weapon Warrior 5| HP: 39/39 | AC: 19 T: 16 FF: 13 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +6 | Will: +2 (+1 v fear) | Perc: +8 | Init: +11 |

Have you played with firearms? If so, what do think of it? You were dead on regarding mythic.

Kitsune Game Master

There are different sorts of firearms. Modern firearms are ridiculous to have in a dungeons and dragons world. But generally I'd say firearms are weak. They are better than crossbows but not as good as bows, at you need to reload them. Ammunition is expensive and hard to come by.

I have only one game where someone actually uses a gun. It's an arcanist with a very special gun that never misfires and has a magically endless supply of cartridges (reloading still required). It has a nice flavor as it matches the character, but besides being extra loud it is just another weapon.

Kitsune Game Master

I get the feeling you don't have the time to read all the posts carefully. That's fine, if it doesn't concern Menan, but it leads to a serious issue when my in game reality and your in game reality drift apart.

Maybe I wasn't clear. But the temple is in the middle of town and the city guard is at the road from the temple to the city wall, close to the gate.

Yes, please clear up anything like that.
