I thought it was odd that the city guard was housed in a temple since the beginning. Read it that way way back. I am typically not reading fast, but I do at times. If you could just do a better job of describing.....LOL
Waking up to my posts. LOL
These next few posts in gameplay should be interesting and will lay some groundwork for better or worse. I like the improvisation. Not always harmonious when getting started. Very different than a planned out and written AP which can be quick guessed. Believe I have located the boss. Believe Menan will pick up on that soon enough.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Believe I have located the boss.
Well, Persephone is - isn't it obvious? No matter where you turn, you end up looking in her face. :P
Looking at the "NPCs" there are several "bosses". The thing is, so far only two have come up and only one gets interaction with the PCs. And it also isn't predefined who the "bad guy" is. At the beginning it would even have been an option to side with Marinelli and do his dirty work. That ship has sailed now, as it would turn into a PvP.

Menan Variel |

In the wild they do not spend or make coin. They may from time to time have to depend on rations if hunting and fishing does not go well.
When in a town, Menan tries to make some coin to cover that and then some.
He has expectations of crafting wands as soon as possible. Arawyn could be a better fighter with better gear. If he can stay balanced in a venue, he will do so. So far, he is a little on the good side here (only tracking gold atm). He is not going to blow all their wealth staying anywhere. If it goes south, he will move on.
It always goes back to the coin, does it not? If something does not make sense, follow the coin and it will.

Foxy Quickpaw |

I noticed something. When Persephone walk somewhere wanting to do something it goes really smooth. Admittedly, there is still a job offer on The Pig's Whistle board about the dock work.
But when you try something all people tend to be very reserved and cautious about it. If I notice it, I compensate for that, but if I don't feel free to call me out on it.

Menan Variel |

Agreed. These PCs should eventually get on the same page imo. Moving there now I believe. Some losers that were beaten down would fit in better, but I like that Menan can play from the top down. There will be common ground imo. We shall see. I look forward to meeting Andrea, but will do so on Menan's terms :-) I do have a plan.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Why not tell me you're that short on coin? I thought from your RP that you're opposed to the idea of buying them because of your principles.
Or ask Persephone. She has the money at the moment.
Or even better, you could do a nice side quest together to get some money.
The Jarl offers 250 gold for the one who brings him the head of the owlbear that terrorizes the woods south of Abadon Or something like that.

Arawyn Variel |

I use an rss feed reader that updates every 15 minutes. It is difficult for me to miss a post even if deleted :-)
Thank you, as I have had players absolutely miss important posts when we posted within a few minutes of each other.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Luckily my example owlbear (the first thing that came to mind) is a matching challenge for the group. I think Arawyn can do fine without getting additional enchantments. Even if her damage is low for a fighter. But with three party members being able to deal damage it shouldn't be an issue. Especially with Menan buffing.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Before this tea party descends into awkward silence: I suppose you didn't come for tea. But if you want to get information out of the ladies you have to steer the conversation in the direction you need it to go.
I'll cut you a lot of slack in regards to them not questioning your motives if you can make up a half sentence to make it seem reasonable to ask something.

Menan Variel |

I was hoping to gain information on the elder Marinelli and even an introduction. That flew like a led zepplin. Any other information or just making a friend of her would be icing on the cake.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Marinelli is still hidden in mystery...
The whole city is in a game for power. The adventure party is not. Yet. But with Margaret you have the first member of the council, which is one of those holding power in town. I guess she'll need an own avatar. But she was a last minute addition to your tea party. So in the long run knowing her should be worth something.

Menan Variel |

Marinelli is interesting. Yeah, I did not spend a skill on the language as they attack and that is all I needed them for. Small fire elemental is pretty good stuff for a low level spell.
I was hoping to meet the new party via game play (Legacy), but will follow your direction.

Foxy Quickpaw |

I'm still lacking a really good idea to bring you in via gameplay. The "he looks trustworthy" trope is already occupied by an NPC.
And to have you sit in Katapesh would delay your joining substantially as the travel there has some events.
I hope for someone there, mostly Ohrmizd, to come up with an idea.

Menan Variel |

I am still waiting on an opportunity to use "He looks trustworthy". That was hilarious.
Well then, I will join in via discussion. I have no idea at this point how to work him in either as I quit reading gameplay way back and only concentrated on the battles to see how he could help there.

Foxy Quickpaw |

If we'd want to be blunt, you could try to sell 2k worth of diamond dust on the battle market to pay a debt and to be able to continue your travel to Katapesh after your travel from Osirion (an excursion of yours) was ill fated.
Ohrmizd needs the material components to get rid of two negative levels.

Menan Variel |

Samuel has 7685.69 gp and his trait (Duskwalker Agent (Katapesh)) allows him to buy at %10 discount and sell at %110.
He reserved those funds in case he needs to modify his approach if his character plan does not work as planned.
Will purchase the dust and resell it to them.

Fencing grace is another way to have Dex to Dmg, without making your magic weapons exponentially more expensive through your whole career.

Foxy Quickpaw |

In case the weapon is already +1 the cost to upgrade it to +2 (+1 agile) would be 6k.
I'm not trying to annoy you with Alendru not doing that, but he is a scholar and only 5th level wizard. There is really no reason he should have the feat.
Once you walk up to the smith you get it done for the right price.

Arawyn Variel |

Interesting...the smith. Together they can afford that and will have not much left. On next level up it would drain them both to get the MW to +1 agile. And, then it done. No reason to go further on the blades.

Arawyn Variel |

PCGen is not reducing the damage for the offhand strike. Not sure where that is coming from as I did not take a feat that describes that. Must be a fighter archetype thing. Will try to find that.
LOL-no dex or stregth to begin with.

Foxy Quickpaw |

That is not interesting, that is impossible for the average party.
- you can't hit it with a normal attack. Only a crit would go through.
- you can't hit it with magic
The only reliable damage you could do would be
- with firearms, because they target touch AC in the first range increment
- Alchemist bombs, for they target touch too
Even when you have that, you'd have a hard time to have enough bombs to bring down that amount of HP.
Besides the need for greater invisibility, freedom of movement, blur and some more buffs to avoid dying first.
Are you free to set up whatever group of level 11 characters to do that? How about hirelings?

Foxy Quickpaw |

I have darkvision, so this should be like daylight. The area around the campsite is not thick with undergrowth. Good visibility for long distances.
Darkvision 60 feet. A quick check suggests that the distance a wolf deems safe is larger than that. Beyond that distance its just as dark as described.

Arawyn Variel |

Yeah, this is a side thing in Kingmaker. The mythic rulers are just ruling and using non mythic parties for the quests.
So, I might do a party of dragon slayers.
http://www.pathfindercommunity.net/elghinn-lightbringer-s-emporium/prestige -classes/dragon-slayer
Ranger and Paladins have dragonslayer archetypes.
And like you said alchemists. Maybe firearms, idk. That is discussed here:
https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?197201-Making-a-Dragon-Slayer
I will be like Tula Belhaim
https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Belhaim

Foxy Quickpaw |

The discussion thread is about a level 20 dragon slayer, so I don't see the connection to your challenge.
Another thought. Get a vorpal blade. Get a cleric of the destruction domain for the destructive aura (automatic confirm of crits). Live long enough to roll a 20. Probably with a monk to flurry it with a +1 vorpal temple sword. At 11th level that would be 5 attacks per round. A 6th with haste.
So your chances to kill that thing within rounds:
1: 26%
2: 46%
3: 60%
4: 71%
5: 78%
6: 84%

Foxy Quickpaw |

That is great. I'm still searching for a way to make it close to impossible to hit. Because even with invisibility, if you have to full attack, the dragon can pinpoint you easily.
you can of course try to cheat, with dimdoor. You'd have to have two casters. One dims you in, you full attack, the other dims you out.
Even if the dragon prepares for that, he'd get one standard attack only and that won't be enough to bring you down.
So party setup be a cleric of nethys, a monk, and two arcane casters, who can roll high enough concentration rolls for defensive casting. They have to be at Concentration +22. You could go with rods of swift casting, as swift doesn't provoke, but that is really expensive.
13 lvl +4 combat casting +2trait +5 int/cha = 24
Action round is:
1. Sorc: Dim whole party in
2. Monk: Hack and slash
3. Wiz: dim out
4. Cleric: Heal whoever got wounded.
Lather rinse repeat.
Whole party invisible, and whatever buffs which add miss chances, especially freedom of movement, so no one can be grappled.
