Imara Novoron |

Sorry. I have been working crazy hours. I'm off next week, though, so I'll have more time to post!
My preference is for the party members to take what we want and then split the rest. That's how I'm always done it in other games. And by 'take what I want' I mean with discussion with the group to make sure we are as fair as possible about it. Imara will always want most of the magic items - and useful non magical things as well - but I am not quite as greedy as she is, so want to make sure she doesn't take things others would benefit from. That said - she would definitely want that tumbler's belt!
What do we want to do about Brynia's Love? Imara has it now and is happy to keep it, but I feel like she's getting more than her fair share of the magical items, so I'm happy to give it to someone else if they'd like it. She wouldn't want to sell it, that wouldn't feel right.
I also agree that we should all split the cost of the healing wands so that doesn't just fall on the healers.
I think that was all of the questions?

Rory Cornelius |
Personally I'm cool with her keeping 'Brynia's love' If she's going knife it would make a good primary weapon, or if she's going two weapon a good secondary weapon. And everyone should have a magical weapon, better to keep one around than not. Honestly I'd rather she keep the belt as well, unless anyone else is doing a lot of tumbling.
I was surprised how valuable the poison and the sovereign glue was. What would we use the sovereign glue for?
I would also keep most of the consumables. Do any of us have a spell book for the scrolls or can any of us use them?
Shel or Rydell, are you going to weigh in on this?
Edit:
I added a few costs to the sheet and moved the 'full price' items over, I hope that was ok.

Imara Novoron |

Yes! I appreciate it. I'd rather not be the only one managing the loot list.
Is there anything on that list that anyone else wants specifically for their character?
Who knows what the sovereign glue could be used for? I'm sure it would come in handy at some point. Imara wants it, but she pretty much wants everything and could pretty easily be convinced to sell it instead. She is also at full capacity in terms of weight and is saving for a bag of holding, so the extra gold would be worth it.

Rory Cornelius |
cool, Once we sell items, I would move whatever is left to peoples personal inventories and start fresh. Either on this page or another.
Sadly nothing for halflings on the list. The belt would resize for him but acrobatics is not that important. My only concern for Rory is he's feeding three mouths. My first priority is lamellar armor for the wolves, then sorting out how he can do more damage. As we go up in levels he will need to keep both animals as well as himself in gear so may keep lower level items for them.
I keep forgetting Rory has spells. I will check and see if any of the scrolls or wands are ones he can use.

Phoenix the Magnificent |

Phoenix wouldn't be happy with selling the hopeknife. There's probably some kind of taboo about selling them anyways.
Shel can use the barkskin and swarm scroll so she'll keep them.
I'm not a big fan of having players "buy" gear from the pool. Like Michael said, if you do that you end up with players only keeping the most optimal gear and none of the flavorful gear.
Keeping consumables is fine as long as people actually use them. You usually end up with a Portable Hole full of low level consumables that no one got around to using.

Rydell Derrick Ellindorr |

Rory, you may find that using magic on the pets to be better in the long run. Greater magic fang/barkskin/greater magic vestment last hours as we get leveled and save you a small fortune. Not to mention they likely scale better then you could afford.
I honestly am hesitant to keep the glue. Here is why-
we can sell it, and give someone another magic weapon or quite literally, a buttload of scrolls. Which in addition to giving the party as a whole a boost, would prove useful if we encounter any more incorporeal enemies. The glue could be a "fix" to an issue at some point, but is it really worth the 2k for the problem? What can it do, that potential skills/magic/mundane items couldn't?

Rory Cornelius |
looking over the items list, I think we used the scroll of ghost touch. am I wrong?
The rat fight starts here. Rydell calls for the oil here Imara reminds him he has the oil here Rydell puts the oil on his sword here. Imara killed the first rat here Rydell finishes the second rat here.
So reread the whole combat, (twice) no the scroll was never used. Only the 'oil' to make Rydell's weapon magical.
Ok, sounds like we have a quorum. We keep what we feel will be useful or needful.
I recommend that if there is a conflict with a magical item that the person who has claimed less get's the item. That way there is some balance.
Also I recommend that after we sell items, whoever claims the items move them to their sheet and we keep the loot sheet clean.

Imara Novoron |

Rory, I like your idea about resolving conflicts over magic items. If it seems relatively even, we can always roll too.
Yes - please let's take items off the loot list once they are claimed by an individual!
I have a number of things on there that I have indicated Imara wants. Speak up now if you want them (or prefer we sell them) otherwise she will take them - but she will have to impose on Rory to have Thistle carry them, so if he doesn't want to do that, she may have to sell after all.
These are the items that we haven't made decisions on:
Crystalline blades/poison - I vote we sell 2 of these (Imara wants one)
Does anyone want the masterwork crossbow, leather armor, rusty chainmail or falchion?
What are we doing with Daktani's hopeknife? Are there any living relatives we can give it to?
Are we keeping the crowbar?
It sounds like the consensus is to sell the sovereign glue.
How many ropes do we have? We have a silk rope in the loot list - do we want to keep this?
Rydell, you are keeping the chain shirt, right?

Rory Cornelius |
We will purchase a pack saddle for Storm to carry and will put extra gear on it as well as in Thistles saddlebags.
Rory can't use any of the mundane gear. Keep the silk rope. Sell the non-magical hope knifes. I don't care about the glue, if you want it take it. I think Rory would be more worried about you wanting the poison. He didn't think you were 'that kind of Rogue' so just don't tell him :)

I'm playing it off as she doesn't know it's poison. They poured a liquid into the hilt and it turned into a cool blade. Yes, she has the Dex damage, but she also almost died. She may put two and two together later tonight when she has time to sit down and have a few minutes to think over the day's events. Assuming she doesn't use it before then. ;)

Shel |

We could do a wand of Mage Armor. Imara, Ovril, the puppers, and Shel could all use it. We'd go through charges pretty fast though. Maybe not worth.

I did one last update of the loot list. I pulled off things that Imara has and ran the totals. Feel free to check my calculations. I got 652.9 gold for each of us (plus 652.9 for group wands/potions). I sold the two nonmagical hopeknives and kept the mw light crossbow since I figured we might need it for those cold iron and silver bolts.
If there is stuff on the list that your character has, please erase it once you put it on your equipment list.
A wand of mage armor is tempting but I agree it might not be worth it right now. I would reconsider when we get a bit more money, depending on our ACs at that point.

Imara Novoron |

No problem! Thanks for your help!

Shel |

I'll try to put together what I'm crafting tomorrow morning, had a busy day today. Shel might stop by to eat with the others as well.

Ovril Necul Havayselvay |

Sorry for my slowness. My body keeps bouncing off a bug, but the next day it's back again. Been sleeping like absolute poop as a result of it, and like today, I just want to hug my bed and do nothing.

Imara Novoron |

If we are voting I would rather handwave RPing the purchase of the items and just list them here. Then go straight to the funeral.
Agreed.

Rory Cornelius |
Hey GMMichael what are the possibilities of purchasing an agile Breastplate that was crafted for riding instead of climbing and jumping?

Rory Cornelius |
Ill allow it. Lets say Sara has been working on it for you for a while.
cool thank you
652.9 gp. + 12 gp. had + 17.5 gp. sold = 682.4 gp.
Items sold: Hide armor, leather armor (wolf) 17.5 gp.

total spent: 645 gp. remaining: 37.4 gp.
I will either get a post up before I go to bed, or first thing in the morning.

Imara Novoron |

Any chance there would be a hide shirt available in town? If there is, she'll get one. Otherwise, she'lL just pick up some tindertwigs and flint and steel, plus a couple torches. The rest of the money she is saving for now.

Rydell Derrick Ellindorr |

Just an offer for the less martially inclined, you cold buy up some alchemist fires/tangle-foot bags/thunder stones etc. If there are any available. They aren't too terribly expensive.
Matter of fact, Rydell will purchase 2 flasks of Acid himself if he can.

Shel |

What time are we getting up in the morning? Looks like it takes two hours for a first level scroll, so how many can Shel make while still getting 8 hours of rest to restore her spells?

Ovril Necul Havayselvay |

> scrolls
-Comprehend Languages (25gp)
-Detect Secret Doors (25gp)
-Web (150gp)
-Fog Cloud (150gp)
> potions
-Hide From Undead (50gp)
-Cure Light Wounds (50gp)
--
652 - 450 = 202gp left of his share
Ovril will try to acquire the above items. In addition, he'll try to find valuable inks, pens, and papers worth up to 200 gold for his calligraphy needs. In time, he'll try to turn said gold into customized (masterwork?) cards :)

Imara Novoron |

There are a few more alchemical items she might get. I'll post them later today.

Shel |

Spells prepared: 3x Bless
Crafted: 2x scroll of Summon Nature's Ally; 4x Scroll of Protection from Evil for 150 GP.
Purchased: Adventurer's Satchel for 20 GP

Shel |

Are first level wands available in town? We could use a wand of CLW.

GMMichael |

theres only two people who could make them, Tyari of the church of Iomedae- Its quite likely she has 1-2 of them but I doubt shed sell any at this point. Maybe after 'the assault' she could be persuaded to either make one or sell one. and Silvermane- who wouldnt have any made, but could make one given enough time.

Imara Novoron |

She will also pick up flash seeds, a Fire Wheel firework and a fuse grenade if available.

Imara Novoron |

Excellent. Thanks!

GMMichael |

ok now the proverbial $#!& has hit the fan!
I will do my best to provide adequate descriptions to invoke the feeling of pandemonium breaking out.
to be clear. the party has 4 goals
1. Get Katreza back to The Counting House.
2. Light The Commons Beacon
3. Light The Inner Quarter Beacon.
4. Light The Hopesprings Beacon
in the middle of that you will have a fight for Trunau to engage in, but not til you get the first two beacons lit....the third...well you have to get to it first ;)
Once we get to the Inner Quarter I will have some other information to give...but for now...

Rory Cornelius |
Hey GMMichael what are you looking for on the horses? Handle an animal is a 10 right? I'm assuming their horses harnessed to a wagon, and we're to drive the wagon back to the counting house. Is Shel leading them or Driving them?
I assumed their trained to pull the wagon but not sure how to help, or what to tell Shel to do.
Can Rory aid Shel while mounted on a wolf it seems counter intuitive. Of course I'm half tempted to let Storm chase them to the counting house.
So what kind of rolls do you need to get this thing moving?
Also, are we in combat rounds yet or on the clock so to speak?
