Realizing that they're dumping too much weight on Rydell's shoulders, Ovril steps up and lends him a hand. "I can give you a hand with him, Rydell. Let's get going."


Chuckling at Ovril's willingness to help Rydell, Rory didn't know anyone stronger than the archer but it was nice of the card-thrower to help. Mounting on Thistle he guided her down the steps, leading the group out. Calling over his shoulder, "Come Storm."

The young wolf followed the older Thistle down the stairs. Stopping Thistle in the bottom of the tower he tells the wolves "Guard." While he dismounts and checks the bodies downstairs for anything of value.

Taking 10(20) on perception checking the bodies, again using detect magic, just in case.


After healing the group they carried the Orc Skald back to the barricade where they paused to tell them what they saw atop the tower and take stock of the situation

Having take the prisoner to councilor Agrit for questioning, Rory gestures towards the North west corner of the upper part of the city where Imara had said looter were moving amidst the buildings. "We should go clear the looters off of Omast's flank, then see if he needs any help."

Before he mounts up, Rory fetched the 'magical' scabbard off of Storms pack saddle. "This will help keep my rapier sharp, I'd like to use it until we get a chance to sell it." Knowing the scabbard was magical, it still surprised Rory as the leather shrank to match the size of his diminutive blade.

Mounting onto Thistle, he turns to Storm and whistles, then rides out towards the center of town. Stopping near the well and keeping watch, letting the rest of the team catch up,

Imara snatches the thunderstone and antitoxin, then dashes after Rory. "There were dozens climbing the cliff near the church. I think we need to go there - or send someone else over there. If that many get in, it would be very bad."

Armed with scroll (of Grease) and a throwing card, Ovril follows the others. He's growing weary, but now is not the time to complain about that. Hopefully, there will be time for that later.

Rydell stoically slings his quivers over his shoulder but hands one to Aeril.

Just in case. Before running after the others. He notes the mobility afforded Rory due to his pets.

Looking over his shoulder to make sure the other's aren't too far back, Rory uses his knees to guide Thistle towards the north west. Intent on not going so far or fast that he can't defend his friends, he turns to Storm telling the young wolf, "Storm, stay near, we don't want to get too far ahead." Keeping a keen eye out as he moves past 'The Killing Ground.'

After handing over the Orcish leader the group had a slight breather and discussed what to handle next and decided the last of the looters would be the obvious threat to clear the inner city. They turned and started toward the corner of the compound they saw them in Rory taking a big lead from the others reined in his wolves and turned to see the others following. They past over ground theyd fought and killed for already. Bodies littered the area. They felt confident and ready to face the enemy.

Imara sighs and follows along behind the others, hoping that they can take care of these looters quickly and move onto other areas. She keeps her weapons drawn in case they are surprised by an enemy.


Continuing moving at a pace where the others can keep up, Rory keeps a keen eye out for anything suspicious as the move towards where the looters were seen. Calling out to the taller folk who had been able to look over the edge. "About how many looters did you all see?"

As they hear that part of town he points towards the gaps in the buildings. "Those will be bottlenecks for them to pin us down. Maybe the wolves and I should cut right and go up and around?"

one move action 50 ft, second move will be a readied attack. We're looking at about two more rounds at this pace before we get to where they are at. The idea Rory spoke of is he and the wolves heading through the gap where the bodies are and come in from the right flank, any opinions?

Imara looks at Rory a moment and thinks about how much they have overcome so far, mostly by following his lead. She nods at him and turns to her left a bit, ready to move in that direction. "Yes, alright."

Sorry to leave you hanging, Rory. You are always so consistent about posting and I really appreciate it. I am trying to get back into the habit now that my life is less chaotic. I am not sure how many looters she saw, but she would answer him.

Phoenix lands in the gap betwixt the flames. Ahh yes. He clucks, dragging his talons through the dry, red dust. I have made many last stands against impossible odds in geography very similar to this. Last stands for my enemies... He clucks suavely.

I don't think we should split up. We've already had two scares with a pupper going down. Wouldn't want to lose any of them. But I'm ready to move forward however.

Splitting up seems suicidal to me when we know we'll be running into unknown opposition.

"And what if you happen to run into a group of orcs armed with bows or javelins? There's no pressing need to split up, so I strongly advise against it. So far we've been strongest together, as a unit."

Riding between the barricade and the fire, Rory and the wolves continue moving towards the section of town where they saw the raiders at. As they near the end of the barricade, he turns and looks over his shoulder talking to the others as he points toward the door on the left and the gap between the buildings. "From what Imara told me there are six of them in that area." He then points towards the buildings to the right, "I intend to ride through there and attack along the cliff from the east."

Turning towards Ovril he gives a wolfish smile, "What happens? we kill 'em." Turning to Rydell he asks, "What do you think Rydell, we all charge through that little gap or use a three pronged attack through the door, the gap and around the north east?"

50 ft move, (staying near the others) second action will be a readied attack in case something comes at us.

If you guys really don't want Rory and the wolves to flank that's fine, but their not going in the gap between the buildings first.

Imara looks to Rydell, curious what he thinks. "I should be able to stroll right up to them and then turn on them once the rest of you arrive."


Raising an eyebrow Rory thinks for a moment then adds, "You could act like Ovril and Shel are prisoners. While Rydell goes through the door and the wolves and I flank from the north."

All things in life require risk. Going through the small gap can be just as much a risk as splitting up. The crucial part of the latter being that, whenever we fight, we are back together. Though, I doubt the orcs are expecting any trouble either way. They seem more focused on looting than fighting anyone. He pauses a moment.

I think Rory and his pets have the mobility necessary to withdraw should something happen. Perhaps he can make his way around, while the rest of us stick together and draw their attention.


The group catches up to Rory as he waits nd they begin talking. Omast waves from within the barricade and says Glad youre here. You takin those looters out is helping me. After this you need to resuce Silvermane. Hes trapped beneath the rubble of the East Tower. I saw it fall on him. He raises up and fires an arrow through the portcullis killing an orc up ahead.

Round 64, that's nuts!

'Silvermane is in trouble?' Looking from Omast to the others, Rory calls back, "As soon as were done with the looters we'll go rescue him,"

Riding up the the narrow alley Rory squeezes his knees letting Thistle know to stop, While he tells Storm, "Stop Storm sit," Watching to make sure the young male sat, he points to the door facing east near the barrier. "That may lead to where they are as well." He points to the nearby gap, "Get close, and when your ready we'll all go together." Sheathing his rapier, he checks to make sure he still had a couple of the magical stones Shel gave him.

Move action for Rory and wolves, move action sheaths rapier.

On this round I'd recommend getting close enough to the opening, so in the next round whoever is in the front will be able to make a single move action and and either an attack action or a readied attack action.

"If you do go ahead, please go with Desna's guidance, Imara." Ovril weaves a minor blessing over Imara and then nods at her, knowing it is for her to walk into danger first.

Guidance gives you a floating +1 that you can add to a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check in the next minute.

Imara smiles gratefully at Ovril. "I'm going to move up and get into position. I like Rory's idea, but maybe Shel and I can act like you're our prisoner. They won't know she's not on their side. That’s probably more believable than me somehow capturing both of you.”

She moves up closer to the looters, but stays out of their line of sight, drawing her weapons as she goes. She'll wait for at least Ovril and Shel to catch up to see how they want to proceed before moving any closer.

Shel follows the stealthy Imara, a few paces back to stay out of sight, a scroll of summoning in one hand, the other hand held over Phoenix's beak to stifle his warcry.

I can't access the map right now; Shel and Phoenix will also move up quietly until we're ready to engage the orcs.

Imara stands up straight, squares her shoulders and walks between the buildings. She addresses the looters in orcish. "Hey! Don't take all the loot for yerselves! She laughs and shows off her weapons, which are still drawn. "Took these girls of some wimpy elf! This dagger's gotta be worth something!

Sorry folks, didn't realize we were on round 65 and are waiting on Rory.

Seeing the others moving towards the opening Rory touches Thistles sides with his heels. "Come on girl." Turning to the young male he tells him, "Storm heel." Quickly guiding Thistle through the narrow gap with Storm one their heels. Turning the corner, seeing the orc nearby he drew his rapier instead of the sling, telling the wolves; "Thistle attack, Storm heel and guard." Ridding towards the nearest orc, rapier extended Rory thrust his rapier at the enemy but misses while Storm bites the orcs leg and pulls him to the ground. Storm obediently waiting behind guarding.

When Rory appears around the corner, Imara points at him, feigning surprise. "What in tarnation?!" That's what orcs say, right? Tarnation? Yes, I think so, sounds right.


Imara walked up disguised as a half orc and spoke in orc to them chastising them for taking all the loot.

Rydell moved to the side of one of the buildings further away and blended into the shadows cast by the flames nearby.

Ovril took a few steps forward and performed a minor magic incantation.

Rory and his wolves charged down the alleyway and came around near the cliff leading down the the lower quarter. he saw the orc at the edge of a torn open building by boulders with the majority of the looters inside sifting through the rubble. Thistle rushing forward and grabbing the orc by the leg and jerking him off his feet. Rory stabbed out but his rapier bent and flexed off his armor as the angle changed. Storm lunged and barked but did not connect.

Imara feigned surprise and used a word they were unfamiliar with and the nearby orc looked puzzled, and had he been smarter he might have figured something out....

Shel moved along the front of buildings out of line of sight of the orcs a scroll in her hand.

The orc on the ground near Rory tried to crawl away from the menacing wolves [ooc all three get attacks of opportunities.[/ooc]

an orc came through the rubble getting closer trying to protect his crawling fellow orc.

another orc came through the building and opened the door coming out next to Ovril.

Another could be seen behind that one.

The one looking puzzled at Imara, shook his head and motioned for her to come with him and he moved to attack Rory, swiging his curved blade at the Halfling astride the wolf. Rory ducked under the swinging blade.

As the orcs appear from the damaged building next to Ovril, Shel begins casting a summoning spell from her scroll. One little eagle would not be able to hold the orcs for long, though.

Imara dashes after the orc in front of her and stabs him in the side as soon as he turns to attack Rory, wounding him badly. She murmurs under her breath, "Bet you didn't see that one coming."

The downed orc jerks it's leg loose from Thistles bite, Rory slashes at him as he crawls away and misses but Rydell's arrow does not. Turning he gives his friend a toothy grin. Realizing that the disguised Imara had downed the orc between them, he gestures towards the nearest orc,. "Imara, Let's try that again!"

Pointing at the further orc Rory commands Storm, "Storm flank!" While Storm jumps over the dead orc, he moves behind the furthest orc. Rory touches Thistles sides with his heels, he guiding her with his knees out away from the enemy. Pointing at the Orc Storm is flanking he tells her "Thistle attack that one." While the wolves drag down and maul the orc furthest west, Rory turns and attacks the orc due south of him. Missing with both weapons he hopes to distract the orc long enough for Imara to stab it in the back.

Ovril stumbles back and hastily incants the scribbles on the scroll he's holding. Out of nowhere a patch of grease descends upon the ground in front of him. Hopefully, it will be enough to keep the orcs at bay!

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple, and to their CMD to avoid being grappled.
