Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Fen watches metal frost over and crack, as the ice eats into Parvaax’s face! He screams in pain!
Chulyin follows up with aborter element, and the acid eats into the brittle metal, corroding it with pock marks.
Farzin then superheats heats the metal again with a final element — molten drops onto the ground and cools.
Toanthel cannot seem to hit, as the powerful magnetic fields interfere with his abilities.

Paravaax seems fixated on those wearing full plate but knows he cannot hit Fen.
He looks down at Toanthel. You die first!
His bite is a devastating blow that snaps the barbarian's shield-strap… and collar-bone. Crit; 32-5=28
As Toanthel lurches back, a claw slices in around his now-open flank and gouges the barbarian's stomach. Toanthel sustained 43 damage over a crit (shield blocked), and a hit.
Paravaax's half-melted face twists in a sick parody of joy. Do you see? You fight a GOD!
He turns the last claw on Fen, but it only cuts the air! For all his talk, Paravaax looks very badly hurt, and wobbles in the air…

"Toanthel!"
With an archaic gesture and an eldritch phrase, Farzin lashes out at Paravaax with a jolt of electricity. Casting Electric Arc (V,S)

He then casts shield. (V)

Paravaax laughs as more lightning peppers him. It tickles! Don't you see, you're dealing with —
Zirul's bastard sword finally connects.
Although only half the damage goes through, it's enough — along with Farzin's arc — to down the egoistic gargoyle and cut his gloating short!
Paravaax collapses into a heal pf scrap, like a shattered metal sculpture.
Out of combat!
The pile of steel and silver gleams. You can collect some of this precious material and bring it back to the village… but it'll be heavy. 3 Treasure Bundles!
Toanthel stands, fully healed by Fen, and picks up his broken shield and his pick.
Both plate-wearers feel less clumsy, and weapons slide into sheathes easily. You look at your wayfiners and confirm it: they point to Magnetic North — the phenomenon has ended with Paravaax's demise!
Lumki exhales with relief (was she holding her breath this whole time!?). You did it! Thank you! She pauses to wipe off her fogged-up glasses so she can see better. Is… is Toanthel okay? I'm sorry if anyone was hurt for our observatory…

”Oh, I think he’s fine,” Farzin says as he scoops up the precious metals. ”How many bags did we bring?”
Papayo squawks, ”Easy one, boss!”
”Too true,” Farzin smiles, but his eyes never leave the shiny treasure. ”Well done everyone. Such teamwork! We can carry all this back, right?”
I joke, but really, well done all. This has been a fun one!

"Yes. Well done," Chulyin says as he looks around at the others on the ziggurat. "Is anyone else injured?"
While tending to the remaining cuts and bruises, he muses, "I wonder what the original purpose of the summoning chamber was in relationship to an observatory of the stars?"

Fen is always difficult to talk to after a battle when she has to fully open herself to her ancestor spirits. She seems to have difficulty distinguishing between spirits and real people, so much of what she says is responding to voices that no-one else can hear.
"A few scratches, Chulyin, nothing more. That lodestone effect was quite bizarre. I wonder if one of my descendents will fight a gargoyle like this and I can advise him!"
Eventually between one-sided arguments in Tien about not having a husband, she manages to tell the others that she needs to meditate, and after 10 minutes she becomes much more calm and present.
She shoulders her share of the burden, She actually can't carry much, she's strong but full plate is heavy! I think if she goes encumbered she can take a bit, hopefully between us we can take everything and is ready to set off.
"That's a good question about the summoning chamber Chulyin. Lumki do you know?"
I also really enjoyed the game, thanks GM and thanks to everyone else for making it so enjoyable. This was my first PbP PFS2 game and hopefully not my last!

"I will be fine with a few days' rest. Thanks for keeping me alive. We work well as a team."
When they get back, Toanthel will spend some time working with some hunting groups by leading them through the jungle.

"That's a good question about the summoning chamber Chulyin. Lumki do you know?"
I've read about things like this in the oldest tomes. They say "This isn't in the scope of the scenario…" but I'm not sure what that means.
She pauses to think. I'm sure the elders know. Nahansa can deal with it.
She thanks Toanthel. I'm so glad you'll be okay! And look! She twirls around. We have our observatory back! Now I've completed my rite of passage!
Thank you!

The journey back to Kihirat is uneventful. By the time you return to the village, Calisro Benarry has arrived. She is busy cajoling the captain, Eras the Needle, for damaging her ship.
Despite her frustration, the repairs are almost complete, and the convoy can continue south to Ekkeshikaar.
The entire village celebrates that night — Papayo is gifted with many cacao nibs to take home (and maybe share, but probably not), and everyone drinks and dances and shares stories late into the night — free of the magnetic fields, and free of the shadow of paravaax.
But one person is noticeably absent: Lumki. No one knows where she is.
As you make ready to leave at darn the net morning (perhaps with a headache), the iruxi comes running out of the forest — she holds star-charts and books like the last time, but this time she doesn't trip. She seems more actualized now that she has her beloved observatory back.
She hands you some beautifully-made, extraordinarily detailed star-charts. You unroll them and realize they won't just be useful near this island, but throughout the southern half of all of Garund. It's a precious things she has given you… worth more than a chest of gold.
I stayed up all night in the old observatory, getting readings from old drawings on the walls and cross-referencing them with my own work. I wanted to say thank you for helping me, and my people preserve something important to our culture. I hope you come visit soon — and these maps will help you find the way, without getting shipwrecked this time!
This ends the Star-Crossed voyages!
