I thought you rolled Toughness against the DC? Otherwise, why even have a DC? And can you take Fatigued over and over? Or are you saying you're not Fatigued because you got hit and never did Extra Effort during the attack?
Edit: N/M about the rolling. Where'd you get the +2?
Black Fox Spirit

damage is a DC 15+Damage rank, while Toughness is against that, with Degrees of Falure giving diffrent penalties.
after any Invulnribiltes

I am rolling against the DC, which is 20. I got 21. I'm not doing Extra Effort, I never did, so I'm not fatigued.

From Favored Environment.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Oh, wait, I see what you're saying. Toughness isn't an active defense, so Favored Environment doesn't do anything. Aha. Welp, in that case, I will do Extra Effort, so I'm fatigued.
Whippoorwill
Wow, that's a nice ability, then. Toughness rolls are "active defenses"?
All right. Then, Whip's hit by the return fire, right?
Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Whippoorwill was ready for the return shot, the dim light of the laser sight telling her it was coming. She rolls with the arrow, catching it on the strongest part of her armor.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Phew. That was some exhausting mechanical issues, lol. Sorry about that. Anyway, my bow attack hit you, so you gotta roll toughness against DC20.
Black Fox Spirit

well, better we get it sorted here than in game

[dice=Toughness]1d20+10
Yup, but you passed the Toughness check, so you take no damage. It's your turn now, and right now Shadowmeld is in his living shadow form.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

Agreed. Boy am I glad we did this sparring thing.
Lightning-Bug
I'm gonna be gone for a couple of hours but Lightning-Bug was just gonna hide up in the rafters in the clouds of his storm so I wouldn't be active anyways, we can say he tapped out

Yeah. But my IRL game is about to start. So I'm going to have to disappear for a while. But here's my parting shot:
"You like the dark, but keep in mind it's fleeting," Whip says as she flings one of Whetstone's specially-designed quills. Her flashbangs.
Flashbang Quills: Dazzle Affliction 5; light, sonic, 1st degree: Blind & Deaf; 2nd degree: Impaired & Dazed; resisted by: Fortitude; Increased range: 125/250/500; Extra condition; limited degree; Noticeable (obvious weapon); Unreliable 5 uses.
Fort DC 15

Fort DC 15
Alright, seeya! Let's see if I can dodge this...
Wait, she forgot the attack check. Oh well, I'll just use Fort
Black Fox Spirit
|
and i have Ultra hearing you jerk :P
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
well thankfully Fox up in her perch is fine. that's not an attack BTW, it hits everything in the range
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
OOOF. That is a friggin' bad roll if I've ever seen one.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
So I'm Impaired and Dazed now, as well as Fatigued. Yikes.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Black Fox, your go.

Fox Takes advantage of the Blind Shadow and distracted Willow to Come out of her shadow Form, Shuriken in hand she Holds her hand up and tosses the spinning stars at the Flying Willow- Attacking Willow with Shuriken, which are 1 damage Multi attack- however Attacking single target with Multi attack makes the Damage 3 rather than 1
Ranged(thrown): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34
DC damgage is 18
before she Readies her offhand sword, the blade turned to the side as if ready to strike at the first thing that comes near. Just letting you know she also has a sword drawn...

Ah, ok. But, why are you attacking whippoorwill? She left.
Black Fox Spirit

well, she left, but she still sent that flashbang off :P, felt better to attack her than take advantage of the helpless Shadowmeld
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

Ah, alright. Well, thanks, lol. Anyway, you'll soon find out he's not so helpless...
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Shadowmeld's form screeches with pain after the searingly bright light of the flashbomb, but he still forces himself to dig into his utility belt for a handful of explosives and toss them at the only 'enemy' left; Black Fox Spirit, who exited her shadowy form to attack Whippoorwill.
Burst area like the flashbomb-quill, so it hits ya automatically. You resist with toughness. DC22.
Black Fox Spirit
|
your turn then, if Whip is gone, Assume that Black managed to kock her out, or at least stun her
fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Fox Shouts as her eyes are filled with light, Dazling her as she covers her eyes, but even Dazzled she was quite the deadly enemy
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

[dice=fort]1d20+3

Er, no, they're explosives. They do damage. You resist with Toughness.
Black Fox Spirit
|
oh derp- defensive roll then :P
tough+roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Fox is blasted by the explosives, however he would find that even with these injuries she would be a difficult foe. she draws her second sword and with a mighty leap brings herself right next to Shadowmeld. darkness wraps around one of her hands and she thrust it forward into his chest
using her Soul rend power to attack you- it is unarmed, and you can avoid it with a Fort Check or a Toughness check (roll both use the better)
close combat(unarmed): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
should my Regen 5 trigger now or next round?
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

It'd be +3, not +4. So, you have one degree failure, so -1 penalty to other damage. Regen 5 triggers every other round, so it would trigger the round after next.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Uh what the heck happened to my post
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
There. Now for the rolls.
Tough: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Black Fox Spirit

Toughness is a Stamina based defense, my defense is stamina+toughness+my roll modifier, Just like my parry is 13+Fight, and Dodge is 10+AGl, also two Nat 20 what?
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
1 degree failure. Alright.
Shadowmeld cries out, swinging his fist around and slamming it into Black Fox's face, twice.
I'm using Extra Effort again, making me exhausted, to take another Standard Action, which is a punch. Also, Ima use all-out attack. So another +2, actually.
unarmed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Unarmed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

Oh, nat 20s, I just realized. So no damage, actually. Heh.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
So one hits, at 24(from all-out attack). DC23 against toughness.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Toughness is a Stamina based defense, my defense is stamina+toughness+my roll modifier, Just like my parry is 13+Fight, and Dodge is 10+AGl, also two Nat 20 what?
No, you don't add Stamina. Stamina determines starting Toughness, 1. So take -1 penalty on your Toughness check against my punch.
Black Fox Spirit

Fox easlily dodges the punches (her defense for parry is stupid at 28), and her wounds heal from the bombs, the Fox clearly outmatching Shadowmeld in close comabat as she swipes at him with her sword, close combat(sword): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31swords are damage 5 so DC 20,
as she came around from the first slash she goes for another Extra effort to attack againclose combat(sword): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 well! against 19 i believe that is a hit, also 22 does not hit my 23 parry
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld

No, your parry is at 13, plus 10, which is 23. I got a 24. My punch is a hit. I got a 24 because I used all out attack, which adds +2 to my attack and -2 to my defenses.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
So roll for damage against my punches before you attack/
Black Fox Spirit
|
ah alright, you hit me then and il lroll against that... toughness+roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 if those determine my starting defenses then i need to add all my abilities to my defneses, but im currently at -2 to tougness after regen.... but yeah, she has 18 parry, i counted it out including her abilites
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
ah alright, you hit me then and il lroll against that... [dice=toughness+roll]1d20+4 if those determine my starting defenses then i need to add all my abilities to my defneses
Two degrees of failure, plus another one degree from the bombs last round makes three degrees. Your regeneration hasn't kicked in yet, it starts next round. So you are staggered, and that resets regeneration since I damaged you again. So now your regeneration work the round after next. You're also exhausted from 2 Extra Efforts.
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Toughness: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Toughness: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Also, your defenses cannot be over 10 since you are PL10. So your parry is actually illegal.
Black Fox Spirit
|
from what i read it was the total of ability+toughness+defense cannot be over 10+power level. in total the max parry i can have is 18
actually here
Parry & Toughness: the total of your Hero's parry and Toughness cannot Exceed twice the series power level
power level is 10, twice that is 20, so my maximum parry with a toughenss of 2 is 18
Sylin Blackwood-Shadowmeld
Sylin grins as both swords bounce off his costume. I'll use my scene hero point now to recover exhausted to fatigued. He then throws another two punches at Black Fox Spirit. I'll use extra effort to do it twice, so I'm back at exhausted.
unarmed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
unarmed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
