I want to maintain a brisk pace with this scenario. Please do not sign up if you are unable to commit to 1-2 posts a day (including weekends).

The main theme is investigation, so there can be quite a bit of dialogue. I will be moving the story along once at least half the party has voiced a decision.

Lastly, if your character possesses the "AbadarCorp Respect" Boon from #1-02: Fugitive on the Red Planet, I recommend slotting it.

Black Dow here with Kultha - a Vesk (Exocortex) Mechanic 1. (sorry for breaking up the Android party lol)

This would be her 3rd mission, so would get me to Level 2 (should she make it) - will get signed up.

@GM Nefreet: Couple of questions...

- Kultha's encountered Julzakama before (when she played through Into the Unknown). They had some good banter/flirtation about battle wounds and not being warriors - I'll run with them having known each other if ok? We ran with Vesk being Russian so there was some back and forth :)

- Was planning on her buying a Hideaway Limb for her damaged tail (from the credits she gained in Yesterday's Truth) However Prosthetic Limb doesn't list tail as an option (so just checking you're okay with that before I purchase) Of course given the initial intro flavour - could be I just wait to see what the adventure throws up!

In a Homegame, for a Vesk with the Prehensile Tail alternate racial trait, I'd be happy to make that Houserule. But since you can't really "customize" mechanics like that in Society, I think you're limited to just "arm or leg".

You are correct in intuiting that there may be more than one in-character reason why Kultha won't want that particular Augmentation after this scenario is over ;-)

But, generally, it's always best practice to craft your Society character with the most conservative interpretation in case you encounter a GM (or series of GMs) who says "Not at my table". Then you've wasted resources for a game (or series of games) that could have gone elsewhere.

It looks like the only leeway a GM normally has, based on the item's description, is what we think will fit inside. I would be more generous in hiding something in a Vesk's leg than a Human's leg, for example, based solely on their Height and Weight entries in the Core Rulebook. But even that might not be consistent from table to table.

However, I have good news!

A while back, the discussion surrounding non-standard prosthetics led to the allowance of prosthetic eyes, in the case of a character losing an eye to the Wound critical hit effect. In that same post, Thurston alluded to the possibility that future Core Rulebook errata might include non-standard prosthetics for non-standard races.

So keep your fingers crossed!

Heh. Nice. I've encountered Julzakama as Italian Mob, Klingon, New York/New Jersey, or just general uneducated riff-raff. Russian is a new one!

That's one of the reasons I really like the PbP format. Whereas in-person games have limited time for roleplay, PbP affords you a platform where you can truly indulge your whole character.

I can't sing in real life, but a singing Goblin was my first Pathfinder 2 character. Gives me time to research limericks.

I'll read over your previous game today and try to incorporate Arvin's and Julzakama's responses accordingly. I can't promise the same level of Russian proficiency, but every good business owner or salesperson kind of plays up mutual affiliations (or even flirtations) for potential financial gain ^_^

Cool - sounds perfect GM-N. I'll run with her having the severed tail (last third) no prosthetics - accident is where she got her Exocortex from (and honourable discharge from Vesk Navy).

For some reason I always equated Vesk names to pseudo-russian so ran with that when patterning Kulthalovosh's speech and intonations.

You happy enough for me to post in the game thread or want to wait for the group to be nailed down first (I'll dot regardless, but had a post prepped and readied :)

My longest running homegame player described Vesk accents perfectly, I think, as variable based on which planet in the Veskarium they were raised on. My current Vesk Vanguard is a total "surfer dude", a byproduct of growing up on starships with Yetis for crew (which, if you haven't played the scenario with Yetis yet, I'll just leave for you to experience yourself).

If you're looking for a bit of variety, perhaps an Envoy to shake things up? Vyecmuraf isn't the nicest kisatha on Absalom station, but they get the job done. Waiting for a chronicle sheet from their initial game of The Commencement, but ready to go after that if there's room at this table.

Since this group is solidly low tier, I would probably recommend Boris over your Mechanic, since they'd get less credits for being out-of-tier.

This is my first starfinder PbP. What is a good way to indicate telepathic speech? I kind of winged it on my introduction.

I don't know if there's a universal consensus. I've seen:

• Bold, Italic, no quotation marks
• Bold, quotation marks replaced with ** front and back
• Bold, quotation marks replaced with ++ front and back

As long as it looks different enough to stand out, since you'll also obviously be speaking occasionally.

Quick clerical question as I have only run Pathfinder society scenarios thus far, not starfinder scenarios. Call the mundane items we have acquired through the scenario goes straight to the society, correct? We keep none of it but get to buy it back from them is my understanding. If that is a case, then I'm going to transfer charges from the found battery to my current battery pack. Ever the pragmatist. That was a lot of fun guys. Can't wait to do it again.

Agree - was immensely fun - great characters, and echoing Boris - huge kudos to GM Nefreet for making this memorable and immersive.

I'm currently building a Shirren Soldier (Guard) to start playing with, so could fit him into the frame.

Kultha at 2nd level will be meatier tho' with her Exocortex bonus of +2 and planned upgrades on armour & arms...

The GM's commitment to detail and having fun cannot be overstated - I loved how believable the throwaway NPC of the BioBoost salesman was. And then he came back in the spambot!!! XD

I was not part of the initial setup for this table, so I am uncertain if the offer to continue includes Vyecmuraf and I do not wish to appear presumptuous. But if the offer was extended, I would love to play again and get them to level 2!

Hurray! Thanks for running this GM Nefreet. This was a lot of fun. Also thanks everyone else for having fun and interesting characters. I'm pretty new to PbP and the interesting things people add into the game in PbP really make me regret that I haven't tried it sooner.

I'm totally stealing your idea of adding fun RP bonus thingies on the chronicle, particularly when I start GMing PbP. Hopefully I'll be confident enough with the behind the scenes mechanical stuff like maps and google drive stuff to give it a go in a couple of months.
