Izumi, with a powerful blow, cuts one of the goblin's arms off, the one holding a handaxe. He looks at it confused then feels weak and falls to the side, dead.

The silence from the fight's end evidences the moans that were heard before. Underneath each of the eleven wooden lids, there is a 20 feet deep pit. In each of them, a human zombie moans in its pitiful mindless existence. A corridor extends in the middle of the room to the south.

Rooke leans down in disgust, watching the zombies. "I say, we leave them for later," suggested the caydenite. "Maybe ask Father Zanthus for an assist when this affair is done."

Thats grim... search it and everything else for clues about what's going on down here, she says looking over the creature and the room.

We don't know what it was talking to as well... be careful.

The goblin only has the three weapons he was using. He was not even wearing armor. A closer look at the weapons reveal that they are a masterwork handaxe, a silver dagger, and a magical +1 longsword. All of them are sized for a medium creature to use.

Male Human (varisian)|HP: 21/21|AC: 14 (10 Tch, 14 Fl)|CMB: +3, CMD: 13|F: +6, R: +1, W: +6|Init: +0|Perc: +3, SM: +7, Diplo +8 Cleric (Divine Paragon)/3rd|Speed 40ft (40ft)|2d6 Channel Energy 4/4x a day

"Wow! How did a freak like that get access to such righteous weaponry?" Rooke asks, examining the loot. The caydenite turns to Izumi. "Twas Beauty that slayed The Beast. It is she who should have the first pick of spoils."
Diplomacy (for no reason because Izumi's a PC): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 Rico Suavey

At this moment, one of the zombies moan, sounding almost like "awwww".

LOL

Not at all my friend... this is a win for all of us. For myself I favour my Katana... I have no need of these. I would prefer one of you find use for the magic weapon however, seemingly pleased with the complement.

"I would be pleased with any of these weapons," Rooke offered. "And while I also do prefer my rapier, I know I could use a little help. A magic sword sounds like a solution."

@Rooke: Can you even use a longsword?

The answer is no. My bad.

The corridor to the south extends to a room where a few things float. From the distance, it seems like a bottle and perhaps a book. Getting there, however, there is a small bifurcation to the east where a spiral flight of stairs going both up and down is filled with rubble.

One check for each.

Perception DC 15:

The walls around the stairs seem to form ancient symbols in runes resembling Thassilonian at the corner of your view but they vanish as you turn.

Perception DC 20:

There is a feint sound of furious scribbling in the air.

Perception DC 25:

From far downstairs, past many feet of rubble, muted howl of strange dogs can be heard.

The room to the end of the corridor is a strange fifteen-foot-diameter sphere. Several objects float in the room, spinning lazily in space. They are a ragged book and the bottle of wine, as well as a scroll, a dead raven surrounded by a halo of floating and writhing maggots, and a twisted iron wand with a forked tip.

However, the most unnerving aspect of the room is the walls. They are plated in sheets of strange red metal that ripple every once in a while with silent black electricity that seems to coalesce into strange runes or even words far too often for the effect to be chance.

Thassilonian or Linguistics DC 20:

These are pieces of Thassilonian words that relate to anger, wrath and need for revenge.

You have keen ears... lead the way then.

The group climbs the stairs and find a circular pool, whose rim is lined with skulls, similar to the one in the large triangular orange pool room. There they find and kill a floating vampiric head. Further up the stairs there is rubble blocking the stairs. Dolgrin thinks that spending some time digging up will lead to an alley in Sandpoint, probably close to where there was a rat catching game during the Swallowtail festival.

Skipping a fight that isn't particularly interesting.

Making their way back to the large room, the group finds the little demon. It seems non aggressive and says in Common "It seems you've killed all my subjects. I will be diplomatic and propose you a deal. Stay out of my realm and I won't bother anyone up in that stinking town. Well? What do you say?" It is flying above one of the staircases, close enough to talk, but far enough to fly away in case anyone gets aggressive.

Dart feels that the tiny demon is scheming about something, as if it has an ulterior motive other than "peace". Dolgrin begins summoning with the others.

I'll wait to see if Dart will act in this "surprise" round.

Concentration: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

However it cannot maintain its concentration trying to cast it defensively.

Party's up. Demon is Grazed.

Dolgrin's eagle continues attacking.

"I LOVE YOU EAGLE!!" Rooke screams and laughs with maniacal joy, as the greatest celestial eagle in all the upper planes, as far as the caydenite is concerned, winks back to it's heavenly roost.

To make a long story short..:
With the vivisected remains of the quasit at his feet, unless stopped, Rooke will continue to kick the demon corpse into the side of a wall, cursing as he goes. Once it can no longer move, the holy cleric of Cayden Cailean will continue to kick, stomp, spit, and kick what remains of the dead quasit until it looks like so much paste, again using all the known and some previous unknown words of curse.

Rooke pulls himself away from the gleeful ruination of the demon's remains and claps his hands, feeling confident.
"Izumi's right! Let us secure this environs once and for all!"

The group returns to the surface. The townsfolk seem completely unaffected by the strain and desperate effort the group has had to endure the last few days. The heroes are still recognized and smiles fly their way, but life goes on as usual.

The air is refreshingly cool in relation to the last few days of heat. However, black clouds are looming over town. The rain drops fall one at a time, then a little stronger, then much stronger. People go inside very quickly.

Dart reaches Sandpoint Savories. The matriarch Alma watches Dart approach and her face shows disapproval. From outside in the rain, Dart can see Aneka inside, holding what looks like a sword, practicing a few swings.
