I always forget about that. It's a much more versatile ability than what's in my head.
@Aith: Let me know if you need me to frostbrand my mom's sword.

Funnily enough neither tongues nor comprehend languages are in the magus spell list. The group could collectively invest in one of those fabulous helms tho.

@GM, my AC with shield is 22. Please confirm that I am grappled?

Say, would it be possible to target the tentacles with a swing? I mean, I want to try to get my friends released. I want to try to attack the tentacle. This isn't usual with pathfinder, but idk, maybe it works.
Foxy Quickpaw
It actually works. Question is if it is worth the hassle. A grapple is annoying and an automatic damage roll is not nice. But getting rid of enough tentacles to have everyone free from tentacles directs a lot of attacks away from the quick death of the creature.
A foe can attack a sand kraken’s tentacles individually; each has 15 hit points. The loss of a tentacle does not harm the sand kraken’s hit point total, and lost tentacles regrow in 1d4 days.
Yasmeena
Hey Foxy, doesn’t maintaining a grapple take a standard action?
Foxy Quickpaw
This monster has superpowers to make my life easy. The alternative would be that the kraken drops you all at the beginning of it's turn and doing the attacks without the -2 penalty and then grapple you again.
Correctly I would have to do all rolls sequentially and resolve them to see if there is one or two grapple attacks and then see if the kraken has itself the grappled condition for the next attack, but NO WAY I'm resolving up to 36 rolls that way!
Foxy Quickpaw
@Antarah
Grapples don't crit.
But about your spell combat/spell strike. You're grappled. Which means you have a DC of 21 or DC22 concentration check for Arcane Mark. Depending how the level of Arcane Mark is counted (0 or 1/2 rounded up).
Casting a spell while you have the grappled or pinned condition is difficult and requires a concentration check (DC 10 + the grappler’s CMB + the level of the spell you’re casting).

Well, I was under the impression that I wasn't grappled. Last round, it missed both attacks on me.

Nice! Level 7 is actually big for magi. I get to wear medium armor now! Uhm... Did we find magic medium armor around?
Anyway, I will get Displacement and Force Hook Charge (it's probably not really good, but it sounds a looooot of fun), unless Aithaloessa isn't going for Haste, in which case I'll go for Displacement and Haste. We can exchange trading cards once we get to a calm place anyway.
For feat, I'll go with Spell Penetration. The time has come to start thinking of these things, I think.
Haleen __
Antarah is large, so he doesn't climb, but walk through difficult terrain, which is only 10 squares of movement to stand next to Rokova. Leaving Antarah - due to haste - with an attack.
Also Yasmeena's shots are missing. Any result that isn't Rokova's death in this round is not acceptable.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Wait, if you're L you don't need to run around the platform? I think I might need to go learn how to read...
And my plan was not to kill him, we need to interrogate him as to what his plans was.
Foxy Quickpaw
Medium or smaller people climb, large or larger walk through difficult terrain and cool people simple jump over it ;)
The bonus with haste is ridiculous (+12).
You could prepare speak with dead to get your answers. Because adding non leathal damage with a bow is hard to do. If you're lucky you can stabilize him. But there is a serious downside to not kill him.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Tariq tried to stabilise him, but that shouldn't being him back into conscience.
Maybe he's got some sort of contingency spell, or a magic item that heals him automatically, or he's such a particular Djanni that coolness oozes from his ears.
I guess we'll never know. Because rest assured, if we ever meet him again, Sarenrae's Mercy might have a different meaning.

Just remind me, there were double digits in these dice, right?
A friend of mine has a d10 shaped like a d20. Like the numbers just repeat themselves and there aren't any numbers above 10 on that die. Pure evil.

Wait... What? The goals of the AP are reached? I never got to find out what the goals are!!! Am I that obtuse?

Strange. I feel a sense of accomplishment. But I don't understand it!
Foxy Quickpaw
Looks like I'm already late but anyway:
Before you risk your neck with careless talk:
There is only one law in Katapesh - Don't hinder the trade. And that law is harshly enforced if necessary.
Example: In the year 4705 AR The Gray Corsairs, a small navy made up of Andoren freedom fighters, sink three Katapeshi slave galleys.
The Pactmasters (That's the guys you work for) offer a large reward for the destruction of the Corsairs’ fleet.
Sarenrae is NG so some of the clergy might not feel bound by this kind of law, but (@Aith) telling that "the powers that be where we’re from don’t much like that," is factually false.
Antarah Khaled
|
Maybe Aith was talking about her home turf, as she's not from Katapesh.
This made me wonder... How does the church of Sarenrae... deal with this? Or maybe this is a Knowledge Religion question?
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Yeah, I was talking from the point of view of a priest belonging to a church which promotes kindness, etc. I guess they'll have to bust cope with it - after all, most churches have beliefs which collide with the local law. But the Sarenrites have things like the Dawnflower Whatever, which fights against slavery underhandedly.
On the other side, it's good to know about these local perks. If we ever want to do something, we can always have the excuse "he was bad for business".
Foxy Quickpaw
I checked in the campaign setting to Katapesh and slaves are "produced" by snatching them from the streets. Or attacking settlements to drag the people away. Or wait for paladin's of Sarenrae to come along trying to free some slaves, and then enslaving them too.
If you have no one who cares about you and has the power to make those who harm you pay dearly you're fair game. It doesn't look to me, like "There is only one law" was meant figuratively.
Foxy Quickpaw
I was wondering if I forgot, but I didn't.
"Under a table in this third alcove lie six injection spears, and a small leather satchel containing nine potions of calm emotions." The easy option to calm down such guys if words don't work. So if you come into this situation again, remember you have the tools.
For those with some craft skills, I'm totally fine with someone crafting a blow-dart weapon for those.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Eh... when things went "oh these are alchemical wares" I mostly skipped that part and thought "well Aith is probably drooling on these but I don't give a damn". Then I went to check once more that the +4 Wis amulet was on my Amazon Wishlist.

Didn't realize you can turn a potion into a weapon.
