Or... wait until level 7 where I get access to 3rd level spells and can cast them on my own. But then, we don't know if there'll be downtime to actually enchant it...
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Everybody agree that we sell the Amulet of Mighty Fists (2000 gp) and the Punch Dagger (10300 gp)? That would give each of us 12300/5= 2460 gp extra.
Deal? If so, Aith, is it okay to craft me a Vest of Surgery if I help with the spell and skill requisites? Tariq is so happy that you have free dinner at Soul Food whenever you guys want :)
And somebody please claim that Ring of Protection!

I can take the ring, but I have a +1 already, so someone else can take the +1
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
I see. Well, maybe she prefers a +2 ring instead of a +1. I don't want to decide for her.
Also, I'm going to spend the rest of the money in some scrolls. Just let me have some time to skim through the spells...
Yasmeena
I mean, Yasmeena wouldn't mind upgrading to a +2 protection ring, but I agree that Antarah needs it more. Haleen is also fighting in pretty close quarters and giving one of them to her makes sense to me.
Also: could Yasmeena make Haleen's wand of protection from evil from a scroll of protection from evil? The rules say that she has to have the spell on her list of spells known, but some GMs allow Use Magic Device to read a scroll as a substitute for that requirement.

Ugh, as requested – at least for going forward – I’ve added a link to a spreadsheet with calculations for distributing unassigned loot at the end of the file with our maps.
I’ll keep that as a record, and adjust accordingly as we continue, like I said. For now, I don’t think we quite figured out what the ceramic idols we found in the temple of Nethys were all about, and I’m guessing the potions will go into a sort of party fund.
That being the case, I’ll leave us all to track their profits from a year’s living in Kelmarane, and just note that, selling all the odds and ends we’ve decided to pass on, that gets us all (the four plus a share for Haleen) an additional 2 361.24 gp each. (So net that + day job earnings.)
Tariq, I don’t think we need to worry about the vest and all: it’s got a low CL, so even with the prerequisites missing, I think Aith should be able to manage it. (Don’t tell her, it will go quite to her head.) If I’m calculating everything right, so long as the DC doesn’t get higher than 27, Aith can take 10 on the stuff folks want, and they can just count off the cost.
Haleen __
... Haleen is also fighting in pretty close quarters and giving one of them to her makes sense to me.
Haleen has an AC of 21 and usually uses combat expertise to raise that to 23. So as long as there is no danger of a hand me down going unsused, I'll pass.
I missed the part where that is a +2 ring. Therefore, rechecking Antarah's post now, I noticed that he agreed to taking the ring and passing on the +1 one. I read it as "have one don't need one", as I was under the impression the new ring was +1 and with that background an exchange would have made no sense. I'm sorry if I caused confusion with my confusion.
Aithaloessa Cyana
Also, I'm sorry - I didn't mean to be ungracious about it. I don't mind doing a bit of math, honestly! I'm just not very good at totting up numbers for accounting purposes.

I was sure we found a +2 ring. If not, then, I'll stick with my +1.
Ok, spendings: (I don't think anyone here has access to barkskin, otherwise I'd order an amulet of natural armor)
- Masterwork crafting tools (55 gp deducted)
- Upgrade to my scimitar, which is now +2 (4000 gp deducted)
- Ordering a peal of power (1st level) from Aith's wondrous items (500 gp deducted)
- Ordering a cloak of resistance +2 from Aith's wonderous items (2000 gp deducted)
I thought of buying a horse or camel, but I can summon a horse with the mount spell, so not sure it's worth the trouble.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Tariq will happily take Antarah's old ring under his care. I promise I will treat it right!

Please no mounts. They get eaten at the first opportunity.
Hahahahaha, ok!
Foxy Quickpaw
You know how it is. You ride to the place and leave the horses at the last tree before sneaking up on the gnolls. After some investigation you find the entrance into the dungeon and go down. Three days later you reappear at the surface and remember - once you're told that it is a long walk to the next location - that you brought horses.
Best case - the horse is still found in one piece at the tree
Realistic case - the horse got spooked and ran away
Worst case - you find a tribe of goblins having a barbeque
Even Gandalf had no good solution for that problem. So I suggest, until you can use giant eagles as mounts that can take care of themselves when not needed, you simply walk. ;)
Antarah Khaled

Hey, I have the mount spell. I can prepare it for myself and recast it using arcane pool/pearl of power. But then, we'd need to rest for me to regain the resources and... waste the added value of the mounts. But walking sucks...
Foxy Quickpaw
Want to go steampunk? Steam-powered carriage wouldn't be eaten and save you the walking.
Or the smoking metal spider from Wild-Wild West
Aithaloessa Cyana
I don't think anyone here has access to barkskin, otherwise I'd order an amulet of natural armor.
Well, isn’t it your lucky day, then. As part of her hippie mage archetype, Aith actually has managed to learn barkskin, somewhat inefficiently. :)
After some thought, decided on a bunch of things to spend Aith’s coin on. Since who knows how many mages pass through town, I’m guessing additional spells would mostly come from scrolls. For now, an arbitrary selection: illusion of calm, peace bond, comprehend languages, expeditious excavation; aggressive thundercloud, bestow weapon proficiency, reloading hands, stone call, storm of blades.
Then, a hood’s flair (brass leaf), a 1st-level runestone of power, and, since she’s supposed to be all knightly now, probably some courtier-y dress and a headband of vast intellect granting Diplomacy, since her people skills could use a boost.
All that should run to 5 420 gp, I think, with her crafting what she can. And she’ll probably have to spend some time with alchemy. Some handwavy gunslinger type stuff in case she lends her mundane pistol to someone – I know we decided not to worry about it for Aith’s magic pepperbox, but just to gesture towards something more normal if we get bogged down into a firefight somewhere.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Aith, in your Loot Sheet I see a +1 Dagger. Is that the punch dagger? Because that was listed by the GM as being worth 10302 gp (and I understood as being sold by that price, but we're going to correct that anyway).
Aithaloessa Cyana
Nope, that's a plain old, from under the monastery, which I think in the end hasn't been used by anyone, pretty much. The punch dagger is way down the list under its proper name, En-Nebi.
Yasmeena
Yasmeena will ask Aithaloessa to make a special golden circlet for her to wear, that uses the alchemical properties of that metal to enhance her bearing and demeanor, making her more enchanting and persuasive. (A circlet of persuasion.)
Also, can we all chip in 150 gp to make two wands of cure light wounds? If Yasmeena carries one and perhaps Aithaloessa carries the other, we should be set if we get into an emergency in combat, and of course can use them between fights to keep ourselves healthy. I figure 100 uses should last us a pretty good while?
Yasmeena
Yes, Yasmeena did. :) I was asking earlier if she could make Haleen a wand of protection from evil from a scroll?
Yasmeena
Yasmeena's game if Tariq is. It's only 375 gp we're saving her, but it's nice to help out our friends.
Tariq Ibn Ziyad
Tariq can hand over 150, but not much more. However, casting spells is no problem, so any divine spell you wish he'll be happy to help.
Have a look also at the scrolls I've created, in case you're missing something important.

It makes me think about drinking Create Water's water to quench thirst. It does disappear after a while, so does it mean the blood gets suddenly thicker? A little scary if you ask me.
Aithaloessa Cyana
Puts on pointy mage-y lecturing hat.
“It’s an ongoing theoretical question as to why conjured water can be usefully and safely consumed but not stored: does it mean that it somehow knows how it ought to be used? Does that lend credence to the idea that such spells must tap into the elemental plane of water, and what does that imply about the nature of higher forms of elemental magic and life? Moreover…”
;)
Anyway, happy to contribute for more wands, so that settles that, I think. Depending on how sneaky we might want to be as part of trying to assassinate the Carrion King, I’ll see about ordering scrolls from the big city that will let us learn how to go invisible or whatever.
Yasmeena
Technically mount is a summoning spell, which means the animal should disappear as soon as it’s dead, so you can’t eat it unless you carve chunks off. I feel pretty confident thinking that those chunks would vanish when the spell ends, but if the body has already benefited from it, I don’t think it would suddenly reverse that process.
Aithaloessa Cyana
Right, let's draft a call for papers, and set up a conference on summoning. That will put Kelmarane on the map!
The worst part is, I'm joking, but Aith wouldn't be, even if it meant listening to an increasingly disturbing set of papers on figuring out just how that sort of conjuration works.
Yasmeena
I've put one of the wands on Yasmeena's sheet, who is carrying the other one?
Aithaloessa Cyana
It's a terrible thing, but now I'm wondering just how terribly a girls' night with Aith and Undrella would go. I don't think our beloved sheriff is the type to overindulge, but then I doubt she would hold her liquor very well if she has more than a glass or two of wine over the course of an evening, and Undrella can probably be rather persuasive if she sets her mind to it.
I can imagine many flashing lights and small explosions late into the night as the lunatic alchemists decide that, no,it's perfectly reasonable to see what happens if they stir a bit more of these herbs with that frog extract into the latest potion/bomb after midnight and the better part of a bottle and a half of wine.
I don't know. Maybe Yaz and Haleen could talk them down from the absolute worst ideas?
Yasmeena
Yasmeena wants to know: would there be dancing? It's hardly a girls' night without dancing.
Antarah Khaled

Maybe we want to join resources to buy ourselves a bag of holding. Also... get our hands on one of those magnificent mansion spells, or something of the like. Rope trick, maybe?
Abomentolor Goblinburner
I just got to select 7th level spells known and even though I got only two, one of them is Mage’s Magnificent Mansion. Screw nightly watches, vermin, and unpleasant weather. But 7th level spells to create comfortable mansions are not for 5th level characters. :P
Haleen __
A quick check showed, that we are fresh out of luck with the magic camps. Maybe this Commander's Tent would work, but it is very expensive. Everything else will become really expensive or drop us after very few hours.
Rope trick seems to be the cheapest solution, but as some need 8h sleep we'd need CL 8 x lvl 2 x 25 gp = 400 gold per night of rest from a scroll.
Even if Aithaloessa manages to magic something into existence, she would have to recast that spell in the middle of the night.
Aithaloessa Cyana
Yasmeena wants to know: would there be dancing? It's hardly a girls' night without dancing.
As it's tea and not booze, it might be a game of bingo instead. Or a tea dance. Both of which don't sound like a girls' night out.
It’s like you want me to get into trouble.
Oh, the hell with it, I can hardly be sent to arrest myself, now, can I? We can have some pyrotechnics too, with a bit of alchemy.
Adds to list for next tea party:
Dancing
Booze
Fireworks
???
;)
Yasmeena
That sounds like the perfect recipe for
...
Drunken singing
Drunken fighting
Ill-advised harpy advances
Gravedigging
Drunken reminiscing
Haleen __

Haleen to do the arrest. :P
But seriously, what for? Disturbance of the peace? Using magic under the influence?
As long as you don't knock on doors, asking for how much they'd sell their firstborn, as you want to try what Undrella means with "they taste smart" you'd hardly manage to break any laws with your party.
One more thing comes to mind: Drunken ballista shooting. If you actually hit someone.
