Hello all!
Player Name Eric Collins
Character Name Phinick Padley
Faction Envoy's Alliance
Downtime Crafting (Field Commissioned) & w. Assurance in Crafting
normally you don't have enough downtime to roll a day job in a quest. You get like 2 downtime days.
Downtime should be the same in Quests, you simply calculate things on a basis of 2 days.
Pa the Farmer

Downtime: +7 Performance [T]
Performance, Trained: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Success in dancing & singing for 5 cp x 2 days = 1 sp

Such an appealing introduction!
Truly prepares us for a great game.
Hornietelle
|
On the journey to the exploration area, Hornitelle will cast Purify Food and Water before each main meal of the day.
Also swapped out cantrip Stabilise for Divine Lance.
Best she has at least one truly offensive spell.

Also changed cantrips again ... to get Know Direction for the trip

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but I probably should have warned people when I first put up the recruitment that I don't put a lot of roleplay work into quests, although people who have played short quests with me in PFS 1 know that. We be goblins series is the one is the one where I just sped right through it. In quests, NPCs you interact with are very few. Quests are 1 XP and always have one fight, while scenarios are 4 XP have several NPCs, puzzles and fights to solve.

Downtime for Pa
Level 0 (DC 14) Farming Lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 - Critical Success
Pa has a good haul and makes 4 whole silver.

Knab knows exactly how much money he made!

Also, happy to see you coming around! But it turns out the Knave and the Goblins were probably going to sing songs anyway, the Poet slash Fortune-Teller was going to recite his rubbish, and the Cleric and the Farmer were going to, well, do their thing too.
And thank you for putting in the time to GM. It's a lot of work.

Also as PA said, if you know how much money you made with the roll, posting it here would be nice.
To help folks out with Earn Income (using Crafting, Lore, or Performance) against a Task Level (and Appropriate DC) of two lower than your Character Level (minimum 0):
1) Knab "The Knave" (1st) > Task Level 0 (DC 14) > critical failure > 0 money x 2 days = 0.00 gold
2) Pa the Farmer (1st) > Task Level 0 (DC 14) > critical success > 2 silver x 2 days = 0.40 gold
3) Miss Lobin Crookedtoe (1st) > Task Level 0 (DC 14) > success > 5 copper x 2 days = 0.10 gold
4) Hornietelle (1st) > Task Level 0 (DC 14) > ? > ? x 2 days = ?
5) Sangel Morris (1st) > Task Level 0 (DC 14) > ? > ? x 2 days = ?
Hopefully that helps?

If this is not RP, but a throwback to PF1, PF2 presents the new improved Light spell.
Duration until the next time you make your daily preparations
Or, of course, cast the spell on something else...

As Hornietelle had Magic Weapon and Sanctuary as her two spells for the exploration that were swapped out for the journey. Can I have them back again as the spells used for the journey were there cos I thought we'd have something happen on the way, sandstorm, getting lost that sort of thing. They aren't good for exploration, so wouldn't have been prepared for the last morning of journeying. I'll not swap unless you say it's OK.

• Finesse lets you add Dex vs. Str for attack rolls (and not all situations w. the attack trait etc.) ; and to trip you must use an Athletics check (even if Trip has the attack trait, for the MAP), and Athletics is Str (not replaced by Dex w. Finesse)
• the Trip is vs. Reflex DC. The enemy does not roll Reflex. The DC is 10+the Reflex Bonus (in this case it seems to be a +5, thus DC15). You just compare the athletics check to the DC
• the Trip trait is what lets you use the weapon vs. your free hand, and use the reach of the whip (and drop the weapon if you crit fail)
That was my impression on reading all those rules

** spoiler omitted **
It's a moot point and in the forum discussion it became a GM choice until an FAQ could answer definitively. In a book as big as the Core Rulebook, this should have been explicitly stated, as it probably applies to a couple of weapons.
So that's how you work out a DC for monsters, I've been looking to see what it was and never found it. I guess that works for characters as well, so to trip against Mistress, would be 10+5 (her reflex save bonus).
Cool thanks for letting me know.
Miss Loblin Crookedtoe

Well, the CRB states that Finesse applies to Attack Rolls--
--and Trip is an Athletics Check (thus a Skill).
So I do not see how it can be more explicit, but, whatever.

To further clarify what Loblin said:
Source Core Rulebook pg. 243
Requirements You have at least one hand free. Your target can’t be more than one size larger than you.
You try to knock an opponent to the ground. Attempt an Athletics check against the target’s Reflex DC.
Critical Success The target falls and lands prone and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
Success The target falls and lands prone.
Critical Failure You lose your balance and fall and land prone.
Going off of "it doesn't say what it doesn't say" as a guiding principal, looks like the trip Trait says you get the item bonus to attack rolls on the athletics check. It doesn't say this is an attack roll itself.
Sucks, as I'm sure that's part of why you did the build you did, but it looks like RAW at least sides with Loblin.

Yes, you have the spell slot back. The game doesn't say exactly how long the journey from there to the tomb takes. But theoretically speaking you have have cast the spell before you went to sleep during the travels and then ate the food in the morning when your spell slots recharge. Really many foods even meats if you hunted along the way can be stored even back then for several hours.

Perhaps the crux of the question is: Does an action with the Attack Trait count as an "Attack Roll"?
The more attacks you make beyond your first in a single turn, the less accurate you become, represented by the multiple attack penalty. The second time you use an attack action during your turn, you take a –5 penalty to your attack roll. The third time you attack, and on any subsequent attacks, you take a –10 penalty to your attack roll. Every check that has the attack trait counts toward your multiple attack penalty, including Strikes, spell attack rolls, certain skill actions like Shove, and many others.
I'd allow it at my table.

Yep, there's different ways to interpret this if you ask me, as per the rules thread. Hence it comes down to the GM's interpretation and provided that's consistent with the game I'd go with it. So in Loblin's game, happy with the way it would be implemented, wold prefer someone for Paizo to set the rules with an FAQ or answer on a thread.

Good point Knab!
I mean, I'd allow it at my table too 'cause it feels more in line with the flavor of it all. I'm glad the GTOP for 2E really encourages the GM having authority for things like this, not that 1E didn't but it just... felt less explicit.
Also, reading the Attack trait itself (which trip has) seems like it leans that way:

Gonna rebuild Hornietelle to have athletics skill, so trip with whip doesn't become an issue, (cos you can at 1st level ... :-) )

Even if no one knows how it works and what it does-- you have a free rebuild for all levels in your Boons, in Organized Play.

(top right of this page)
Click it and drag down to--
ORGANIZED PLAY
(fourth line)
Click that
Then you see the main line with
Summary Sessions GM/Event... and the right-most tab:
BOONS
Click that and you get to see how many ACPs you have etc. etc..
You will see the only Boon you can purchase:
Pathfinder Society (second edition) Character Rebuild
You can purchase it for free
It was free till September
Now it is free till the Season 2 starts or the Advanced Player or whatever comes out, whichever is first
(ask on the forums and you will the posts or Blogs by Tonya, I never tag those things)
If you get the Boon-- you receive nothing.
Other than a line on that same page saying you got that Boon.
The Boon's been out for a while.
There still has been zero information as to what it does.
So, personally, but what I am saying now is 100% subjective and non Paizo rules-- I used it as I would a level 1 rebuild (same wording) but for all levels.
If it ever matters I'll see what to do when they finally come out with what it does.
The goal was for people to be able to test things and correct "mistakes" etc..

Those who still want to play Quest 3, I'll start on May the 4th be with you. Quest 3
