Satisfied that Damil hasn't escaped, Frantino looks in on the Thassilonian books in the library across the hall, sighs, and heads back to the rest of the party with Nasir.

"Everything is secure with our prisoner, looks like this is a good time to see where these stairs go, unless anyone else has an alternative?"

Frantino waits to hear everyone's opinions. If we're all in agreement, he'll ask Ayita to take the lead in case there are traps and he'll take up the rear guard.

Ayita finds no traps up the stairs. But, at the very top of the stairs is the underside of a trap door. Handholds on the door make it easy to push up and aside.

Upon opening it, Ayita sees a room. The floor is decorated with a mosaic of a serpentine tail curling to the southwest, as if pointing toward a domed alcove of rough-hewn stone made to appear like a cave. Ayita and the now open trapdoor are in that alcove. Moved to the side by Ayita opening the door is a repugnant idol of an eel-bodied demonic merfolk. To the north stands aquartet of squat sculptures of bloated sea monsters, all with disturbingly humanoid faces, each adorned with red gemstone eyes. What appear to be gobs of bloody gore cover these smaller idols and spatters the floor below.

On the eastern wall is a door, ajar, leading into another room.

Explainer: there is a room, in which a giant idol stands. Under the idol is a secret door. This is the door from which Ayita has now emerged. I have put all of you on the map, just so you can see, but only Ayita is really there. The rest of you are, currently, behind her in the stairs.

Once everyone climbs the stairs and enters the room above, Frantino will cast detect magic and examine the statue above the stairs followed by the squat sea monster sculptures.

Ayita sees ears and eyes, bits of viscera (was that a stomach? or a liver?), gobbets of flesh and blood dripping down the wall as she examines it.

The four idols seem to have jeweled eyes, likely worth a bit of money. She wonders if they might be trapped. Hard to tell when they are covered in whatever (whomever?) this used to be.

Wait! Ayita looks down at the floor. The gore is oozing outward in a puddle... TOWARDS HER!

A horrible odor assaults Ayita's nostrils as she watches the oozing gore begin to organize itself into some sort of... fist? Arm?

Other than its oozing nature, Ezranadir can't really figure out what it is. Some ancient thing, not seen on Golarion for eons.

Frantino, confronted with the thing, can smell a terrible odor of brimstone. He realizes it must be some sort of fiendish ooze-thing from the nether regions of Hell.

Whatever it is, Frantino thinks that being touched by the coalesced gore-ooze would be horrificly, likely incapacitatingly disgusting.

Upon hearing that the creature is an ooze, Nasir remembers that the group was given oozeclot unguent on the trip over to the island and fishes the vials out of his bag of holding while making his way up the stairs.

I was wondering when we would get to use this stuff! It was so super specific that I was waiting to encounter an ooze to use it.

That only covers a 5' section at a time. This thing is large (10x10 taking up 4 squares) & would require 4 vials & the time to apply it. Not sure if that will help much here.

Nice recall on the oozeclot unguent!

There is so much gore everywhere, it is nearly impossible to miss. But Frantino slips on a bit of intestine as he swings the second time, missing completely.

Frantino can tell, however, that his first swing didn't damage the gore thing as much as he thought it would.

The gore forms a pseudo pod again, this time with a bit of shredded lung tissue on the tip, and SLAMS into Frantino!

@FRANTINO Slam plus nauseating gore: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 Slam dmg: 3d6 + 15 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) + 15 + 9 = 35

@FRANTINO Fort DC19 or be nauseated: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 for: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 rounds.

The pseudo pod crashes directly into the half-elf's face! In the midst of strenuous combat with this hellish thing, Frantino's mouth is unfortunately OPEN. Bits of lung, blood, and miscellaneous viscera are slammed into his mouth. He retches, spits, swallows and then coughs when he realizes he's swallowed the blood and gore down the wrong pipe!

Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn.

As Nasir approaches, the thing reaches out and strikes at him!

Fort DC15: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 for: 1d6 ⇒ 1 rounds.

Nasir pours out the unguent. A quarter of the gore-ooze monstrosity hardens, its blood clotting up. Nasir watches as the thing tries to move towards him, but can't escape the spot to which it is stuck!

Not quite RAW, but creative idea, Nasir. One vial = 5ft square. It will remain stuck where it is, unable to move. But the rest of it remains dangerous and able to attack.
