OK so sounds like you're planning for a shakedown and some musical distraction potentially. I need a nomination for a skill check: Appraise (to guess the value of the "diamonds" and relative pressure to apply), Knowledge Local, etc. You can decide in Discussion if you want to chat about it.
I think we probably want to avoid trained only skills (such as Kn: Local) since anyone who hasn’t put ranks in them (like my character) would automatically fail the check.
We have two people trained in Appraise and Bry Anne has a fair Int. No one has an Int penalty.
Everyone in the group except Bry Anne has a Charisma bonus. Bry Anne is strong in Intimidate, but has a penalty to others. On the other hand, several characters have good Charisma skills.
Bahram: Diplomacy, has a good Charisma bonus.
Besida: Intimidate, has a Charisma bonus.
Bry Anne: Intimidate or he needs a good roll.
Carlin: None trained but has a reasonable Charisma.
Sayuki: Bluff, Disguise, Diplomacy, has a Charisma bonus.
Cith: Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, has a good Charisma bonus.
None of our plans so far have fit Diplomacy, so I think the options are:
Appraise
Intimidate
Bluff
I have avoided putting in skill modifiers, but in general they are +7 to +10 for the trained skills.

We could use appraise to begin the set up with the barkeep, then would it be reasonable to use diplomacy instead of intimidate in order to come to a peaceable agreement with the him?
GM Weenerton

Pressuring the barkeep is a fine plan. You're going to make a check to make the plan (looks like Appraise) and another check to execute (looks like Diplomacy or Intimidate).
Are you all aligned to that?

Here's a question I'm still mulling over:
PCs: You sold us fake pearls!
Barkeep: Oh no! Please don't tell people!
PCs: Okay, I won't, but you'd better give me my money back and shut down your tavern for the rest of the day!
Barkeep: ..........................why do you want me to shut down my tavern?
PCs: Uh... reasons?
What do we, as enterprising pearl-buying folks, get out of it?
Bahram al-Urgug "Jack"
|
"Ummm. Close down the tavern to just us? We've been on the road a long time and now he's got us peaved? Time for some private bar time?'. Bahram smiles and shakes his head a bit. "yeah, reasons."

So when y'all are ready, roll me a each an Appraise for preparing the plan of attack.
We'll then move into the inn where you can press him. With a reasonable diplomacy/intimidate he'll do whatever you want, basically. I won't make this hard on y'all.

Bluff is fine with me. It is one of my best skills.
Might work better if we are less specific about why they need to leave — just that Palter needs them to leave.
Sort of “You heard Pal, time to leave. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.”
Diplomacy could also work to just convince people it is time to leave.
——
I will wait for there to be more of a consensus. Seems I jumped the gun the last time and I don’t want anyone feeling like I am pushing the group.

I think the easiest way to do it with Diplomacy is we just ask the customers to leave in a pleasant manner, don’t deceive except to omit the reason everyone is to leave.
GM Weenerton would have final say on what is appropriate, but I think something like that is one of many ways we could use Diplomacy instead.

The scenario is rather loose with what "works" or not so please have fun with it.

Diplo works for me! (Sorry for quietness on my end; seems I’ve caught some sort of illness that may or may not be That One and I’m looping between sleepiness and fevers.)

Diplomacy works for this half-orc too.

Day job rolls, please. There's a Day Job table in the Character Details spreadsheet if you would be so kind as to fill out that field for your character. I'll have chronicles up in the next few days.

Good job everyone! Thank you for making my first PbP experience great!
Day Job (Craft - Sculpture): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Glad you enjoyed it Bedisa! I would gladly play at a table with any of you again.
@GM Weenerton,
I would like your opinion on a Silver Crusade FJC objectives.
Defeat a divine spellcaster whose patron is an evil deity and whose CR is at least equal to your character level.
* I caused the healer to flee, and he didn’t come back. Did they worship an evil deity and would this count as a defeat?
No day job,

No deity specified but as a Lawful Evil cleric I'd say yes. I'll add that to your chronicle.

Oh dayum! I've never seen that fight go that quickly or that smoothly. Well done, everyone, and good head-collecting.
DAY JOB TIME:
Craft (bread/pastry): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Bry-Anne

Craft (books), Take 10: 10 + 7 = 17
Also, would someone more... diplomatic be willing to help Bry-Anne recruit our smuggler contact to work with the Exchange? Diplomacy DC 16. Otherwise he’ll make progress on “Resolve a combat encounter nonviolently”.

It is allowed if they are the same faction. I am not sure if it is allowed for someone not of the faction to do the skill roll objectives.
GM Weenerton

Is that allowed? Never really thought of that.
yeah go for it

I agree with the one shot. Thanks for offering, Sayuki - go ahead and roll! Bry-Anne will try to help...
Diplomacy to Aid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
Hah! Apparently some of the silver tongues in this party have rubbed off on Bry-Anne!

Anything else you need on your character sheets before I put pen to paper?
Please update day job gold on the character details spreadsheet.
