Welcome to the Discussions tab! This will primarily be used to handle post-scenario wrap up, such as deck upgrades, hero point expenditure, etc.
First though, it will be used to check in on all the players to see who and how they will be playing. Once you have chosen a character, please let me know the following:
What tier they are at? (Only Tier 1, or 2 allowed since we're starting in Adventure 1)
What decks and/or packs will you be using?
What replacement cards will you be using?
Do you have any campaign boons or rewards from previous adventures that you will be making use of?
Please put a link to your deck handler (and make it publicly viewable) in your profile header.
And general questions for the group:
Do you prefer hangouts or discord for chat?
What difficulty level? This table was listed in the sign up sheet as Normal level. If everybody who signs up is well-experienced, I'd be willing to increase this to Heroic or Legendary, but only if All players agree.
What time zone/time of day will you usually be able to post? This is mostly to figure out an optimal turn ordering. Though this is also something that can be trial and error, as it is easily rearranged in between scenarios.

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

I will be playing Quinn (from the CotCT expansion), an Investigator.
He is currently at Tier 2.4, having played the first two adventures of this Adventure Path.
Quinn is built using the Ultimate Equipment deck and the Rogue class deck.
As I have my own copies of both the Core set and the Curse expansion, Quinn has access to any of the allowable replacement cards (and has several of those in his current deck, identified in the deck handler by a '*' after the name, and linked to the appropriate card in the Wiki).
He also has the "Investigator's Lamp" promo card from Iconic Heroes set #6.
(My ownership of all these items has already been verified).
I have no preference for either Hangouts or Discord; I already use both.
I'm not really interested in playing at anything above Normal difficulty - even though I've been playing PACG ever since it was released, I'm pretty much a casual player, not an expert.
One thing I do hope to see, though, is a significant amount of strategic discussion around the table (be it on the discussion tab, over discord/hangouts, or any other mechanism). This is a cooperative game, and I think it works best if everybody is working towards the same goals, with an agreed-on strategy. The goals obviously change as the game unfolds, and plans need to be changed appropriately. But I'm not going to diverge from the agreed plan without consultation with other players, and I'd appreciate it if other players did the same.
(And, obviously, the first thing we should discuss is how much discussion to have :-)
That's quite enough for now!
P.S. I'm in the Pacific time zone, and should usually be able to post between about 10:00am and 10:00pm local time on weekdays. Sundays I'm less likely to be able to respond promptly; Saturdays I may or may not be available during the afternoon/early evening.

Bigguyinblack |

Awesome! We have a rogue, a barbarian, and 2 TBD. And JercDe'Wor also wants to play the AP so I invited them but no clue what they will play.
I'm looking at a few options depending on what the TBDs are. In no particular order.
WotR Enora using UM + Witch CD
Her gimmick is a very high knowledge that can be used to acquire spells, items, and even to defeat barriers once I get a role card.
Grazzle UM + Oracle CD
His gimmick is he is an efficient healer that can heal from anywhere. It can alter gameplay in a big way.
RotR Lini UM + Druid CD
Lini reveals an animal to add 1d4 + to all of her checks.
And minor spoiler but it should be discussed, None of them want to wear a mask later on.

Bigguyinblack |

Oh. And for chat I'm fine with both Hangout and discord. I prefer normal mode. And I don't own the core or CotCT sets so all of my cards are the normal version.
One exception is the Dragon's Demand boon that grant me access to a basic boon as loot.
Time zone is EST but my schedule varies wildly. However I check in often so you shouldn't have to wait long for me to take my turn unless I'm asleep or don't realize it is my turn.

Grazzle the Great |

To help the TBDs I'll pick Grazzle for now but can switch if someone else wants to play a healer.

MauveAvengr |

Hey all. Got up to tier 3 with Koren the Paladin in this before the BR stopped updating.
Not sure who I want to play as. Trying to play through all the characters in my class decks. May try Seltyiel the Magus, Hayato the Samurai, or Zova the Shifter. Any suggestions? Also depending on how things go, may switch to Koren when we hit tier 2 and if/when we decide to play the whole Adventure Path.
I also heard that we can use the Adventure Packs for all of tier 1 even if we don't own the Core Box. Is that true?
Open to Discord or Google Hangouts - have used both.
Live in PST. Can usually post throughout the day.

BR eddiephlash |

I also heard that we can use the Adventure Packs for all of tier 1 even if we don't own the Core Box. Is that true?
Yep!
We have been given permission for players to use these packs for any character without owning Core and Curse through adventure 1 of any adventure path or module. If a player wants to continue a character into adventure 2 or upgrade a current character who is higher than tier 1, they will be required to provide proof of ownership of core and curse.
Open to Discord or Google Hangouts - have used both.

Chthonicthul |

Hi all,
Looking to play Raheli from the Witch deck (unless we are needing more healing, in which case I could switch to Kasmir). This would be a brand new iteration of the character, so Tier 1.
Eastern time zone for me, and I tend to post in the morning (although, with what looks like a long haul of coronavirus remote work, I probably have more windows open than usual).
Haven't used Discord recently, but am cool with it. Very happy to use Hangouts.
Not using any replacement cards. I have to go digging through my boons and rewards from previous games, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing I would use here.

Shnik |

Hi everyone,
I'll be playing a fresh Tier 1 Brielle, using the Barbarian Class Deck and the Ultimate Combat Add-On Deck. I'll be using substition cards from Core and Curse as appropriate. No previous boons.
I'd rather play Normal difficulty.
I'm in the Eastern Time Zone, and can usually post a bit throughout the day.

BR eddiephlash |

Hi Folks!
The world has....changed a bit since we've all signed up for Outpost. I wanted to check in now that we're less than a week til starting time. I myself find I actually have slightly less time than I did before due to trying to work from home while entertaining a couple young ones. My plan is still to check in regularly, at least posting once every other day, but hopefully more often.
It looks like all 5 who have signed up have checked in here, but only 3 of you have found the discord. I've sent another invite link.
I'd like everybody to please make a post here confirming whether you're still interested in playing so I can go ahead and get the board set up.
Also, how's this for a starting turn order (based on schedules). Do know that this is flexible and we can change any time (between games).
Raheli - Chthonicthul
Brielle - Shnik
Enora - Gimry
Quinn - JohnF
TBD - MauveAvengr
As far as upkeep (loot unlocks and preferences, supporter feats, etc), I will make relevant card text available to all players. I generally put this info on the Campaign info page and can track things there. I've also seen tables set up spreadsheets with all the relevant info, so if you'd rather/also do so, I'm happy to contribute there also/instead.

Raheli - Chthonicthul |

Raheli is good to go (surprised to see that she is not available as an avatar - will be going with this one, since it's a female with long blue hair).
That turn order looks good to me.

BR eddiephlash |

I want to say at the outset, that if there is anything that I could be doing as BR to make your lives as players easier, please don't hesitate to let me know, either here, on Discord, or privately in either of those places.
Each BR has their own quirks and tendencies, and I've definitely picked up some ideas from others, but my main goal is to facilitate a good time at our (virtual) table!

BR eddiephlash |

Things I need from you:
Are you replaying this scenario with your character?
Tier and XP upon completion of the scenario.
Upgrade preferences from the pool:
Weapon - 1
Spell - 10
Armor - 10
Item - 11000
Ally - 00000
Blessing - 10
Generally you list your preferences in order with a d1000 roll. If you as a group have an alternate way of deciding these, please feel free.
If anybody is interested in any loot, please let me know. If multiple people are interested in the same loot, we can decide amicably, or roll for it.
What to spend your new Hero Point on, and current remaining Hero Points.
Which supporters have you rallied (either from playing this, or other Curse-based scenarios)
Also, as we are playing as a part of Outpost 3, we are eligible to roll for a convention boon. Please roll 1d20.
[ ] [ ] [ ] Undaunted Guardian: When you attempt to guard your location, check a box that precedes this reward to automatically succeed.
GM Boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 17

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Technically Quinn could have taken the loot item last scenario (and it is definitely something that seems appropriate for an investigator), but I thought I'd wait until we'd finished the first scenario.
Quinn will probably take it if no one else does. He's also got access to another Loot card - the ally Ausio Carowyn - which he is even more likely to take.
Quinn has 2 Hero Points unspent.
Rallied all Level 0/1/2 supporters; feats on Amin Jalento & Trinia Sabor.
Boon Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Upgrades:
Quinn will mostly not compete for upgrades for a while.

Raheli - Chthonicthul |

1.1: Haunted Fortunes - Raheli Rewards
This is not a replay for her.
Tier 1, XP 1
Upgrade preference is Item. If it goes to roll:
Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 151
If the Item doesn't work out, and there is something lying around, she'd take it.
Raheli would cede loot to Quinn, since he has Perception
Spend Hero Point on Skill Feat: Dexterity [X]+1
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Brielle - Shnik |

So, since this is PACS rules, the Loot is a "replace another item every scenario" type of thing, right? Brielle would rather leave it to someone who can make better use of it. Regardless, I find it pretty funny that, since the Harrow Deck is a Tool item, Brielle could use it to smack someone upside the head!
Brielle is a fresh character, so no previous points/ XP/ supporters/ etc.
Brielle spends her Hero Point on a Power feat: adding 1d12+1 when burying a card.
For deck upgrades:
Weapon 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 584
Blessing 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 878
Blessing 0: 1d1000 ⇒ 56
ConBoon: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Throwing cards at baddies like Gambit!

Brielle - Shnik |

Interesting that we ended up with three Item-heavy characters. Hadn't noticed that before.
Huh. Hadn't noticed that either. Hopefully the other two are good at acquiring items, because it sadly isn't Brielle's strong suit.

Seelah, Light of Iomedae |

Hey!
Seelah will take a Power Feat: Hand Size +1
Deck Upgrades:
Armor 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 998
Weapon 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 136
Boon Roll!: 1d20 ⇒ 2

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

The only level 1 upgrade Quinn might possibly have some interest in would be an Ally 1, and even that's questionable.
He's pretty much waiting for level 2 upgrades.

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Quinn will be taking Zellara's Harrow Deck this scenario (swapping out Thieves' Tools)

Scenario CCT-1A wrap-up:
Please list the following, assuming this is not a replay:
Upgrade pool:
Weapon - 11
Spell - 1
Armor - 10
Item - 00000
Ally - 110
Blessing - 1111
Great haul!
BR Boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Seelah, Light of Iomedae |

Seelah will spend her Hero Point on a Card Feat: Blessing (and pick up up Orison).
Upgrade preferences:
Blessing 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 689
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 12

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Boon Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Raheli - Chthonicthul |

Scenario 1A: A City Gone Mad - Raheli Rewards
Will spend Hero Point on Power Feat: For your combat check, you may recharge a card to use your Dexterity skill + 1d8 and add the Magic trait and the Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing trait. ([X] If you succeed at the check, you may draw a card.)
Deck Upgrade:
Blessing 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 937 Exchange Blessing of the Gods for Blessing of Milani
Boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Hey!

Brielle - Shnik |

I will spend my Hero Point for a Skill feat, Strength +1.
I'll follow the majority and take a Blessing 1 upgrade (with Enora picking a spell, there are enough blessings for everyone else without rolling).
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 8 => nope, but congrats Chthonicthul!

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Our BR has posted the introduction to the next scenario.
As you can see, gathering Evidence is even more important this time; we need to gather enough evidence to win the scenario. Note, too, the additional ability you get to examine the top card of your location at then end of your turn, and put that card back on top of any location.
That won't work for Evidence - as you may have noted last scenario you get to encounter evidence if you examine it (but with an extra 1d8 to your roll). But as soon as we've got the evidence out of one location we can use that as a dumping ground for any cards we don't want to encounter; there's no need to close any location. Once we've got a second piece of evidence we can additionally build a stockpile of cards that we'd like to encounter if we have time.
Much as in the last scenario, Quinn's ability to examine cards at the start and end of his turn (and, occasionally, even more often than that) will come in useful when collecting evidence.
I'd suggest that we again start off by working together to get the evidence out of one location as soon as possible to create the dump.

BR eddiephlash |

I never posted what the Outpost 3 boon actually is!
[ ] [ ] [ ] Undaunted Guardian: When you attempt to guard your location, check a box that precedes this reward to automatically succeed.
@Chthonicthul, you are welcome to assign this to Raheli or any of your other characters. And please PM me your email so you can receive your reward.

BR eddiephlash |

Scenario CCT-1A Summary:
Raheli - Blessing 1, Power Feat (Draw a card with successful hair attack)
Brielle - Blessing 1, Skill Feat (Strength +1)
Seelah - Blessing 1, Card Feat (Blessings +1)
Enora - Spell 1, Power Feat (add d6 to cold spell)
Quinn: Replayed. Weapon/Armor/Ally/Blessing 1 available...

As we're into the endgame at this point, Quinn will head off to the Base to try and pick up some supporters.
If people could post here what upgrades they are hoping for (and what acquired cards they have in their deck) that could be helpful.
Quinn isn't looking for upgrades; he has acquired an Item 1.
To win we'll need to close a location. As there are no closing henchmen, that means we'll have to empty a location. The River only has three cards (one of which is known to be an Armor; I think that makes the other two a Blessing and a bane). It also has a straightforward closing check, and a nice 'at this location' ability to discard a card to reroll one die.
We'll also need to decide who gets to close (and thus get a chance to win by summoning and defeating the Danger). A martial character would probably be a good choice if we decide the River is the location we'll be using.
A somewhat related question: Do players like to not know anything about Story Banes until we've actually encountered them? Some people do; others think that we've probably heard enough about whatever we'll be facing to have a pretty good idea of what we can expect to run into.
Quinn's already run through this scenario once, so he (and I) know quite a bit. But I won't mention any details (except, possibly, in a spoiler) if people would rather not know.

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Ah. We have an update post. Thanks, BR!
It looks as though the Docks has even less cards, so that's possibly a better candidate for a location to close. It has a useful location power, too.

Raheli - Chthonicthul |

Raheli would want an Item first, and after than, anything.
So, she would probably just stay at the Tavern and try for boons, unless someone has a better idea for her.
