Tactically, what hostiles are left? This has been a really chaotic melee and I've lost track.

As far as I understand it.

1 passanger (next to ARcheon). One driver-currently in the procccess of burning to death (ow)
Two behind some cover( a car I believe) that IX is walking towards-that were providing covering fire and ssuch.
The sickened one that IX hit while walking by that I sickened (I do not believe.
3 more that was with the one I sickened (I think) that are heading towards the car (that Archeon is pointing his weapon at a passanger in)

This is how I undrestand it anyway. I do not believe any are killed(or knocked out in Zellgato's case) with the exception of the one burning to death currently.

This has been a chaotic melee. I'm sorry about that. With 14 people involved (6 vs. 8) it is a bit much. I think this round will clear the field a little.

Zwordsman has it right.

- There are two behind a car. IX is about to reach one of them in melee.
- There is one about to die from burns. (I think he had 1 HP and was on fire end of last round).
- There is one about to surrender to Archeron in the car.
- There is one not going to bother standing up again after being sickened, demoralized, and just punched in the back of the head while crawling. He's not getting up.
- There are three others are retreating, one of them is wounded

Okay, I tried to give a clear account of the firefight in one post. Gristlethorn isn't mentioned in it, but that's because he's calling targets from a distance. The hostiles left would be the one you targeted that IX is probably about to finish off and the three running on foot. Von Junzt has said he would like to run someone over. They look like good candidates. He needs only to make a very reasonable Piloting check to get the car pointed in the right direction in a timely fashion.

All schools in Quebec just closed. I suddenly am at home a lot in front of the computer.

I'm looking at the rules for running someone over. It seems really easy to do. It requires a Piloting check = DC 10+Vehicle level. I added a bit for difficult terrain. Targets get a Reflex save for half damage.

Does that seem right?

Actually, depending on the size of the vehicle this was a Ram full action instead of a Run Over full action.

Ram requires the same piloting check as Race, but Run Over has no checks. Ram also does double damage, while Run Over does regular damage.

And what's the level of the car? 3? The damage seems a bit low.

The collision damage of a passenger plane is only 5d6.

3d6 was in line with a limousine.

Ram required more of a straight line and getting up to speed.
So, run over doesn't even require a Piloting check and damage is at least half and applies to multiple creatures? That's what I read to, but that without even a Piloting check it seems off.

I keep misgendering Szreem as 'he' instead of 'they'. Sorry.
Who else am I misgendering?

Don't worry about IX. I haven't decided where he stands in that department. I suspect his reproductive abilities no longer exist.

So, Zellgato, in the movie 'Contagion' absenteeism in law enforcement hits 25% about a month into the pandemic. How's it going so far?

This decade is when it all goes to s!*% in my timeline. I'll bet on the accuracy of my timeline for this decade at least.

People are acting quite insane. Which is making it all insane.

Also. I'm sick. So fair chance I did get it. Which means either "barely sick" or "vomiting up a wall" and (probably not paid) time off for quaratine probably.

So far no one in our dept is officially sick however. (My new insurance doesn't kick in till the 1st so I can't formally check.. the test is free. But the doctor vistis you have to do before that free test, is expensive hah)

I know I'm sure having breathing weirdness. (like lung isn't as big as it used to be). So thats weird.

But yeah. The insanity timeline is coming true.

I'm guessing from this that you're an American. Is there another country out there that would make you pay to help save lives?

Stay safe.

Yep. US. Although a few other countries I have friends in, are similiar cases to varying degrees.
I had free insurance before i got this new job. But i reported the new job, and my income level and that i signed up for company insurance. So my old one got removed.
so yakno.
I got sick during the 1.5 months between insurance and not. Because thats how stuff happens haha.

Also probably is covid I have. So thats fun.
I am getting gifted paid time off though.

Hope the time off helps. I'm working from home until whenever this is over. I'm buckling down for a long confinement.

Sadly I can not. Law enforcement computers have tons of security and reduntancies and locked room.s
not really a work from home job

Even if I broke down the laser on the buggy apart. It's bulk would still be over 1.9 bulk I assume?
(Was pondering breaking it down and hiding it in my armour cubbies which holds a bulk. But probably not enough time for that +probably a lot to it)

I was thinking stash it in another vehicle. They would search for it. They're about to search Zellgato for medical scanners.

Archeron abandoned his vehicle and is walking in, so you could take that and park it off site with the lazer.

I have a map of ARIZ-29 in mind for the compound, which you haven't seen yet. Can you see this image?

Astrazoan Operative 3 Operative 3 | SP 18/18 HP 20/20 RP 5/5 | EAC 16 KAC 17 | F +1 R +7 W +3| Init +6 Perc +8 |

Yep, I can see that pretty clearly.

This would be for the inner compound, around which would be the temporarily shelter and camps.

HP/SP: 22 (22) / 9 (21) | EAC/KAC: 17/19 | Fort: +4; Ref: +5; Will: +1 | Init +2 Non-Lethal: 4

Yup, can see it clearly. That's an interesting 3D map.

Random Microlab Scan text
As long as you have your custom microlab, as a move action you can target a creature within your line of sight and within the microlab’s range (60 feet at 1st level) and attempt a special skill check to identify it. If the creature is living, this is a Life Science check. If it is unliving, it’s a Physical Science check. The DC of this check is determined by the creature’s rarity, as presented on the Creature Rarity table on page 133 of the Core Rulebook. You can attempt this check untrained regardless of the DC, and you always treat your die roll result as a 20.

So 31
Though if you want me to roll due to interferences etc I could

Yeah, I saw that in your bio but didn't see it on one online resource: https://www.starjammersrd.com/downloads-resources/playtest-materials/biohac ker/

But, now I see that this resource was just for the playtest.

Well, now you know why they're confiscating medical scanners.

huh I've never seen that website. I mostly use Nethys (although I should own the main book and the new one digitally...somewhere)

It is entirely a coincidence that this sermon fell on Easter Sunday.

Ooo, after 3 days down I am finally back up.

I like where this game is right now. I don't know what is going to happen next, and I like that.

The characters aren't working as a team, but they are a bunch of renegades.

HP/SP: 22 (22) / 9 (21) | EAC/KAC: 17/19 | Fort: +4; Ref: +5; Will: +1 | Init +2 Non-Lethal: 4

I kinda like that we're all pursuing our mission our own ways. It makes a certain amount of sense.

Von Junzt is actually pretty concerned he’s inside the main enemy base without any ready backup - he wishes he had combined with someone to be waiting on the roof with some ropes to climb down or pull him out of there.

He expects to be subjected to the first stage of brainwashing and be able to resist it - he’s a conman, he knows how the game is played. But he’s probably about to receive a parasite… he’s still operating under the impression they have some magical or psionic powers available, but mainly follow the old psychological routines to brainwash - he has no idea this is some sort of alien or plant-men invasion.

Oh, he’s about to be so surprised…

Uplifted Bear Envoy Stamina24/24 HP 30/30 Res 6/6 | KAC 15 KAC 15 CMAC 23 | Fort +1, Ref +6, Will +3 |

Well we are an ad'hoc group who have never met each other before and probably have less than 6 hours in each other's company save for Gristlethorn and Zellgato, and most of our time together was sleeping.

1+6 biohacks per short rest4 left Stamina42/42 HP 46/46Res 8/8 KAC 18 KAC 15 CMAC | Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +6

Still probably the one he trusts the most off hand. Hopefully you can continue on if Zellgato gets made and murdered haha. Bad rolls Bad Bluffs.

i'll laugh if half of us end up brainwashed or dead though. Would be kind of apt. Also would result in a missions success by proccess of "everyone vanishes we send in there. thats not good"

Observational question.
From what I can tell of the camp.. Does it seem likely that I'd be able to find a medkit oor a chemalyzer around here?

Debating whether to give it up or not-can remake if I found one, but also can't restore biohacks if I give it up.

For all my extra supplies... I did not bring an extra medkit/breathalyzer.

The Brigade members were confiscating medical scanners; you know why. It would require some kind of Diplomacy check to get a lead on any kind of contraband in the camp. You do have people who are good at dealing with people though. Refusing to give it up does mean getting in a spat with the Gaians, but she doesn't look like she is strong enough to force it off of you.

"her eyes as she says this. This is the first time she's looked less than serious and it doesn't suit her."

Is this meant to imply she's not taking what she said serious, or is she givng me snark with her eyes? Or something else?

I meant to say her smile seems fake.

She's trying to look friendly and it doesn't suit her.

Ah I see I see.
Also, just to reconfirm my notes. This is the emotional 'pusher' so to speak. Extrapath who emotionally impacts people. ? (debating whether Zellgato findis it odd that it isn't being employed in someway-while wondering if he'd actually notice it)

Yes, the extrapath who is so good at emotions that she changes other people's emotions is coming across as socially awkward, the opposite of what she is supposed to be.

If you're not sure if Zellgato would notice, you could do a Sense Motive check.

Not sure what, if anything I could/should be doing right now. Any suggestions from anyone?

Probably try to tag the other "childs" of note, as pointed out by RAIN:

Quote:

The RAIN briefing calls the Children of Gaia members 'Child' and a numeric designation.

Child 1, Andrew Parsons, seems to be the main preacher. He's a bit of a mystery. He came to ARIZ-29 about 6 months ago from Salt Lake City where he worked in security. He has no record of religious or criminal activity nor any demonstration of previous leadership abilities.

Child 2 is now the muscle for Andrew. He was previously the camp chef.

Child 3, was the Child 2's partner, but now manages the camp's operations.

Child 7 is the man L337 identified as Ryder. RAIN has nothing on him, not even that.

Von Junzt was going to work on Ryder, but his plans might have changed for the moment.

That, or try to find out where the agents are. Zellgato found one (although not sure if he'd know that Zell did). but could hunt the other one down. or try to feel out the camp's 'groups' if there is only one, or if there is division politically etc.

SP/HP: 26/25 | EAC/KAC: 17/17 | Fort: +9; Ref: +8; Will: +1 | Init +3 | EP: 1

Juntz is more valuable to RAIN dead than alive at this moment.

By the by. I'm having quite an amusing time. The group is hilariously scattered in goals and plans. Some working towards a long plan, others short, and some adlibbing as it goes.

There are all the parts for an amazing plan but the lack of communication (the jammers) was a good power play on the enemy encampment's move.

Everyones respective plans would fit together fairly nice. At least into a "short term plan" and "long term plan" dichotomy. But the enemy sealing communications off threw into disarray nicely.
its pretty great chaos.

---
It'll be quite interesting to see how folks around the area reacted to the sudden action events. As well as if we were lucky or unlucky if the food delivery folks/patrol folks were nearby or not.

Zellgato used up his supplies thinking he'd have time to restore thtem. Now he's floating in the wind with nothing but a needle gun. Great charater moment for his life style.

Also a logistics of the world question.
Rena was an Emotion Pusher.
Genius is an empath sorta psychic?
Are they both of similar things? Or are they functionally different? Since im' not sure if the implication was that Rena also felt emotions, or if she only pushed them.

In effect I'm wondering about how they weren't really accepting much mutants, but have let a psychic in , and ~may~ have under their influence an emotional pusher. Zellgato (and me the player) am trying to figure out the possibilty of Rena surpressing her parasite (if she has one) via pushing emotions on to it 24/7.
Though it went weird before Zellgato had a chance to explain that theory of his. His original evening plan was explaining his findings, rena, and then finding out if anyone else has marked more Children other than the one we actively seen (Preacher)

I'm terribly curious how this'll shape out

I was pushing the group towards a invasion of the CoG base - stealthily at first, probably shooting our way out.

But right now, I have no idea where this goes... Von Junzt will probably end up joining the bad guys, if captured, while the rest of the party is chased in the desert by the former-biker gang.

SP/HP: 26/25 | EAC/KAC: 17/17 | Fort: +9; Ref: +8; Will: +1 | Init +3 | EP: 1

On your word GM, I'll be off of the fear effect. Timing seems to be a bit abstract at the moment.

Genius's family came back and snuck through the checkpoint when the Gaians weren't as watchful. Rena was a telepath specializing in manipulating other people's emotions. Genius will grow into a very powerful telepath but right now she's a quirky kid.

I'm also curious how this will take out, but this group has seemed like a band of misfits so sideways seems like a normal direction for the story to go.
