I didn't say it outright, but 'Peggy' is retired and resentful and won't be coming on this mission.
A fairly low Culture check would remind you that androids are no longer allowed to work in law enforcement any more due to restrictions on them hurting humans. It's really about anti-android sentiment, but it is masked as concerned about emotionless android violence.
'Peggy'/L337 has been recently retired from RAIN. His attitude changed when he looked in through the window during the mission briefing.
Right now, he's expressing mild curiosity in the mission to von Junzt.

By the way, if you look around outside of Barstow, there is a Peggy's and an Penny's close enough to each other. I'll try to find the place I've modified in my head for this on a map.
Okay, I took liberties, in my head, with this map. This is way more spread out than I'm thinking, but same general set-up.
The "Barstow Calico KOA" is the recharge station now.
Of the other buildings, the only that remain are Penny's and a rebranded version of the Peggy Sue's. The rest are shells.
I wish I had more time for adding proper maps, but the semester is almost over so maybe soon and, unless you guys really mess-up somehow, this we won't need a battle map for this spot anyhow.

Clarification question~
Is the Chapel/place an open refuge sorta deal? So it would make sense if we were already heading that way and ask to join up for safety in numbers?
-----
I'm fine with the speed. I don't mind if it continues a bit when I'm at work or asleep, etc. (I work 9-10 hours day counting travel times. So I tend to post morning and when I get home. with sometimes before bed again if I remember)

Yeah, that would be one huge map - the real thing is about 10 times bigger than what I was imagining.
Are the bridges on the highway still up?

The bridges are still there. The convoy is planning to take highway 40 to the town of Chapel, where the Devil's Bridge Brigade is running a checkpoint and then from there heading into ARIZ-29, a refugee camp in the Coconino Forest area.
Don't look too closely, these places aren't exactly there yet. These maps must date back to when there was a functioning government.
As for why you might be heading this way, ARIZ-29 is a refugee camp, and you are refugees, or at least disguised as refugees. In 2085, there are still 30 or 40 million climate refugees are now homeless in North America. Most of these refugees are from areas like Florida and Louisiana, which are now mostly lost. You could have been heading to ARIZ-29.

If Zellgato went and tried to find anyone sick/hurt. Would that mean the Buggy lasers won't be repaired?
Since it takes a bit to charge vehicles- he could leave the charging to follks and go help out.
He'd love to go help out with any sick or hurt folks. but leaving energy weapons half repaired seems hazardous for potential explosions.

(I'm not in a spot to type fancy thing atm. I'll add it later-or if you have a funny idea feel free to narriate if you get to it before I get a moment)
Honestly given the choice? I'd love if I fumbled a injection and got myself instead. Something like "see its just normal medicine its Fine" Trying to p retend I'm taking it to fool a kid. but actually inject myself. Flinch pat the kid on the head and walk off.
So much for a good medical recommendation later.

Two questions and 1 statement.
Statement: great fluffin my bad roll. Made me laugh--i've experienced that in real life (different profession though).
1) Can the two seater be driven and fire by one person? Or does it require 2 people to operate drive and guns?
2) anyone wanting to hop in the vehicle too?
If someone wants in (or if two folks who are state they're better at that sorta thing than I am. Then I'd go to the front-so I could communicate whats going on at the front to the folks at the back.
Otherwise he'll remain in the back.
(or he'll drive a SUV if two folks want his buggy)
Will write my post in a bit if no preferences ( just got off work)

It did NOT work out the way I wanted it to at alllllll. But hey.. he had no gunner. And there were kids in the convoy. Didn't seem like the worst plan when we have no heavy weapons or explosives. Just a few rifles.
I got caught on a seatbelt or a rusty door.
I honestly thought I'd get at least over 10 total. Nope rolled a 2. (almost wish it was a nat 1 at this point) Hilarious death incoming possibly. Irony of the medic probably going to need a medic, or a burial. Guess I should've taken the healing theorom.
...Yeah I don't think I know those rules off hand either.

there wasn't really firm placements. (theater of the mind and all).
Zellgato likely would've been the one to get closest to the broken area first. and it sounds like most of us are out and looking at stuff. Since some of the workers were talking about startign to check for traps and the like.
but no clue on exact placements. but it'll take a few moments for my last ditch effort plan.

Once we found out who was driving, I moved on to the first encounter. I don't want to rush anyone, but I also know people lose interest if a certain pace isn't maintained. I knew with this encounter you would be able to rearrange your seats anyhow as you had decisions to make.
I hope no one feels rushed. I'm enjoying this unexpected turn of events.

I'm all good.
This kind of incidental insanity is pretty great.
Also having someone protect the rear convoy is good planning anyway. Zellgato mentioned it before.. but this situation (prior to us rolling up to inspect) seemed like a great way to make a large portion of the convoy forces separate.
once we saw the vehicle with likely bombs or gases etc. Seemed like it was probably aiming tocut us off from the convoy-rather than blow the convoy.. So wouldn't be surprised if von Junzt runs into enemies back there later.
I have no clue if its an open top buggy or hard top. Either way dying to a broken seat belt is hilarious in the scheme of things in Starfinder. If unfortunate. if it happens anyway. It would certainly endear the rest of the group to the convoy I guess

No worries. I figured it was at least worth a shot. ehh? ehh?
Okay, I'll show myself out.
I'm actually really asking. That shot would have made it past concealment, so the "bouncing off a mirror" thing could just be style and flair. Would a laser bounce off the mirror and do damage? Either way, the driver takes 10 damage and then von Junzt dazes him.

Sorry for being less communicative the last few weeks. My father's health (whom I live with) has had a dramatic drop in health the last couple of weeks. We knew it was coming, he received a 'this is going to kill you' diagnosis a couple of years ago, but it wasn't expected this fast. The doctors think it might just be a temporary complication with some inflammation, but there's no guarantee and his new health condition is stressing me the f~*+ out.
Add on the fact that my last remaining Grandparent is just done though thankfully I am not her primary care provider (and doesn't that thought make me fill guilty.)
And now work has taken radical Covid-19 steps. Which admittedly since my father is 100% the 'this could kill you' demographic I don't 100% mind, but tomorrow is going to be a nightmare as we prepare.
So I guess you can say I am hyper-stressed right now, sorry.
