AC 13 is the magic number, but what is a size bonus coming from? Generally being smaller gives you an to hit and AC boost, not larger. Also, I hate to break this to you but you need to roll twice each time because of the unluck effect so the two rolls you made are actually for the initial roll and there is not crit threat. But if you can convince me that you should get another +1 you can score a hit, which would be awesome! Casper has a move action left if he wants to leave the room now.

Sarona's evil eye seems to be reather ineffective against Pugwampis, or at least these particular ones, as yet another attempt only manages to briefly catch it's attention, fazing it only slightly.

I misinterpreted what Lupe's +1 bonuses for rolls were, I though they were a size bonus against small creatures. I'm going to move out of the room. I'm honestly having a hard time following what's going on, and I don't think I can hit anything anyway. I feel like my character wouldn't throw more money after bad.

Casper grits his teeth in frustration and backs out of the room to safety.


Actually, your chances of hitting are approximately 6/20 (specifically 121/400), like if you needed to roll a 15. Even better if an evil eye were to stick! So, not all that bad. On the bright side these things have pathetic hit points, bad aim, and do non-lethal damage as long as you do not move around in the room. Unfortunately, when you add in their DR it comes down to an endurance contest. But, tactically, this is a bad place to fight them (bet you are just dying for a flank!) which is why the author set it up this way or they would be road kill for PCs (or maybe the author just loves long combats?). I could expedite the combat in some way if the endurance contest gets to be too frustrating or is boring you out of your minds.

This seems like a bad tactical area, so my character is going to stay out of this potential meat grinder for us.

Casper watches the battle closely, but steers clear of any danger from the gremlins until a more advantageous tactical situation should reveal itself.

Lupe obliterates 1d2 ⇒ 2 Green smashing him, the shelf underneath him, and putting a nice dent in a pot underneath sending it crashing to the floor with his first swing. With almost preternatural reflexes he manages to bounce his blade off of that pot and almost magically reproduce it on the other side of his body to take a poke at green who also falls to the weight of the blade. Both gremlins collapse to the floor leaving only the gremlin in the opposite corner to deal with!

@Lupe
'Unfortunately', because you took them both out with your awesome AoOs, you need to redo at least part of your action. You cannot see Black as he is too well hidden, but you could probably have Wolf sniff him out. Remember to have Wolf roll another attack roll and take the worse result and then make a roll for concealment (low means a miss) and to have wolf make two reflex ST to move across the glass if you choose to move over there.

Katsumi, upon seeing the two fall before he could make his attack puts his Kukri away and pulls out his longbow, choosing not to risk the jagged floor (which could put him at 0 HP).

Rahella is unable to spot the ellisivce creature and hovers there uncertainly[ooc](care to declare a readied action so that you can do something if it does appear?) and Sarona attempts the same and also fails.

Her familiar, on the other hand is able to pinpoint it and sends a postitive emotional thought towards her. Unfotnately, it has no real way of communicating where it is except to point or go there.

In a panic the pugwampi attempts to climb its way out of the room but, in spite of it's size and all the nice timbers, it nearly does itself in when a frail roof tile gives way, but then manages to ALMOST slip away when Katsumi pegs it with his bow.

Indeed, that was the last one. There are 4 still (but not lifeless thanks to Katsumi) figures dotting the room. Speaking of still, Katsumi is staying put until some of the rubble is cleared out and he can move safely. Speaking of which...

Once the combat is done, Katsumi puts away his bow and pulls out a garment or something and starts clearing a way to the exit, eyeing the twilight mage as if daring her to devour another soul.

”I am inclined to agree,” says Vulpina, easing the lever of her pistol to reduce the chance of an unintended firing. ”We have made good progress, it should be stated. We have an interesting mix of abilities; I am curious about the most efficient way to combine them.”


Th group sets off, encountering the spider and ape bodies along the way. In fact, the group has left a virtual trail of bodies that is sure to be discovered. Oh well! It's not like they are not going to notice the missing cooks or apes anyway :) I suppose you could bring back a field dressed ape, though people are weird about eating food they are not used to, if that makes sense for your character.

It does not take long to get back and you are met by a surprised Garavel. The monastery sits a mere mile from the camp at the Sultan's Claw so you make it back about mid day. His look of surprise fades when he sees how beat up katsumi is and the bloody paws of the wolf.

"Well, what happened to you all? It doesn't look like you were ambushed by gnolls. I'm no expert but those are some pretty odd looking wounds. I expect you will be wanting to see the Father."

"We encountered resistance when clearing the monastery. A change of tactics may be necessary to improve efficiency." Sarona replies, turning her head and looking right at Katsumi before looking back at Garavel.


Katsumi looks back at her defiantly.

"I think it went quite well. We knocked out a bunch of apes, a giant spider, and a few of those irritating gremlins. Found some rooms that would make a good place to stay too."

Vulpina corroborates that. ”I think a final sweep and it should be good to go... though I can’t say for how long before new inhabitants move in.”


Turns away and starts leading the way back into the camp, speaking over his shoulder. "How long do you need to rest? I'm sure the Father can get you all well within the hour."

Your arrival is met with more curious stares as the other members of the camp paus in their labors for a moment to view your progression, a few free ranging chickens darting out of your way. The camp site is peaceful after the previous days turmoil and life goes on. You arrive at Father Zastoran's wagon and he seems a bit put out to be interrupted from his work until he sees the damage.

"Well, I can see that my services are needed. Come in!"

The cleric calls softly on his god for healing and Katsumi is healed up in a jiffy, his woulds completely disappearing.

Indeed, after a supplication, Wolf feels the wounds close up and he feels a lot better.

Zastoran looks distractedly at his table where he has all sorts of odds and ends spread out, like he was in the middle of something.

I thought it was Vulpina’s ear being scratched for a long 30 seconds... boy, do I have no idea how she would handle that!

The noblewoman smiles, squatting and reaching a hand out to Aaliyah. Her gloved hand works over the fennec’s head, rolling over the ears and scratching beneath the chin.
