'Gnasher' Red Claw |
Am I right in that you visit each of the branches, repeating the process of exploration by violence when plugged?
Sure
Finishing knocking down the stone door, Gnasher peers into he room. "Another apartment." He nods back way they came, intent on repeating the process of exploration by violence. "Tribe move on?"
Malgrim Gryh |
"Maybe there is another level. We should go and check the central room for any sign there is a "door" down." Malgrim will return to the central room and search around for a place that looks like a door down similar to how they got into this place to begin with.
I start in the center and begin spiraling around taking 10 for a 32 to find any entrances or trap doors.
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
Keeping his bardiche at the ready as Malgrim searches, Gnasher follows his friend ahs he searches. Realizing the Hobgoblin and paused near the bottom and possibly found something he asks. "If entrance is stone sealed would they have heard the noise?" Pausing he adds, "Use wand for new door or break open?"
Malgrim Gryh |
Malgrim nods and says, "Do we need to plan on walking on air again?"
I am not sure if we still have Air Walk or how much duration is left based on searching around and breaking walls.
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
Seeing Seif-al-Din ready the wand, Gnasher readies his bardiche. Turning as Malgrim asks about air walk, he nods, twisting his mouth to pronounce the difficult worlds. "Air Walk, helped get tribe here. Gnasher think it good idea."
I think air walk is a good idea, but I don't remember who cast it.
Malgrim Gryh |
Sief cast it, but I am not sure how he is looking on Spell slots.
Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
Seif-al-Din nods gravely.
"I can cast Air Walk on the party again, but that will be the last time today that I can do so."
Four more castings of Air Walk will mean that I am tapped-out of spells slots above 3rd level.
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
Furrowing his brow, Gnasher realizes he doesn't know as much about either the location or the use of magic. If Seif-al-Din's Air Walk spell ran out, would they be able to escape this place? Would using Air Walk mean Seif-al-Din had used up his most powerful magics. Knowing his own magic would be of no help flying, Gnasher shakes his furry head, "Maybe wait? Tribe see what below, then decide what magics to use?"
Not sure if we'll need airwalk to continue, or to leave, but maybe we should keep our options open?
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
Having considered the options, I like the idea of taking a peak first. Any thoughts?
Malgrim Gryh |
Malgrim is fine either way. I think its up to Seif as it's his resources we are using.
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
I certainly don't mind casting the spells. It just means that we will be on a timer thereafter.
LEt's wait until we see what we're getting into
Shifting the position of his bardiche, Gnasher nods at the stone door. "Open Door, tribe see what we see."
miteke |
The domed ceiling of this tall, cylindrical room arches to a height of sixty feet. A spiraling stone ledge winds down from the shaft opening you just created in the center of the ceiling/floor to a circular room below. The gleaming black stone walls are lit at regular intervals by crystal lamps. Shelves and niches of polished white spikestone are inset along the ramp’s progress down the chamber; and at the chamber’s bottom are a number of what appear to be cushions and blankets.
Malgrim Gryh |
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34
Malgrim sees what appears to be a trap and says, "They are in the Walls!" He then prepares to blast the nearest face!
They know we are here, so I am guessing I do not actually get a surprise round. But as soon as I can, I blast a face.
'Gnasher' Red Claw |
perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Not seeing anything himself, Gnasher trusts Malgrim's sharp eyes. Asking softly "Tribe wait for them to come up here?" As he asks, he shifts his bardiche to one paw and reaches into his pouch with the other. Drawing out his wand of mirror images, he taps himself with it, growling magical words.
If we are in a surprise round, he will just cast it from memory and save the wand, just let me know

Does Shadow do anything? Does Urah cast fly?
Malgrim Gryh |
Urahbot casts fly on Gnasher and then moves 20 ft back from the hole.
miteke |
That leaves Shadow. I'm going to assume she waits there. Which means it is time for the shaitan's to act.
With the trap imperfectly sprung, The shaitan's lean out of their hiding places and blast the party with a whole slew of glitterdust spells and then cast protective spells on themselves. After which they vanish as they disappear into the stone. Though those of you not blinded would not see that.

As he does so, he calls down to the Shaitan, "Obherak, tribe refuse to stay trapped in realm, tribe will leave and hunt down Jhavhul. Lahapraset tells tribe to leave tribe must convince shaitan genies to leave or slay them. Choice is Obherak's. Die or leave?"

Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
I already re-Air Walked everyone? If I'm blind, I have a 50% miss chance when casting a spell on someone adjacent to me that requires a touch, and flat-out can't cast a 'ranged' spell that isn't an AoE, so I am good with waiting patiently ;-)
Malgrim Gryh |
Urahbot delays to see if someone gets grievously injured.
If we are Air Walk'ing then he has little to do at the moment. He will delay for now.

No, Seif only said that he did not mind casting the spells, not that he did cast the spells. If it matters, by the rules if you miss on the touch, the spell remains active until you touch someone, or you cast a different spell. Basically with a touch spell you remain charged with the spell for a while if you miss. It will take an action to deliver the touch. On the round you cast a touch spell you get a touch action along with the casting, but after than it takes a standard action to deliver the spell.

Seif and Shadow are thrown into confusion by the sudden blindness while Urah slips away to safety (seeing nobody get injured). Shadow manages to shake the glitter from his eyes, just as 5 Shaitan emerge from the floor and attack.
Gnasher has two of them flanking him AND is blind which mkes him much easier to hit. And hit him they do! You have not started raging, yet, correct? If you have, I'll have to adjust things a little.
