Would Seif have failed the save as soon as he came within 30 ft of the Jackal? If so I think he would be 5 ft further back and I would kick him to wake him up. If not I just try and break free as I cannot use my powers against this thing while grappled.

Malgrim tries to escape the grapple.

If I try and break free:

He had the shelter of the wall to block vision until he stepped into the room.

Malgrim struggles against the tentacle but cannot free himself. He looks a little panicked.

The lion and Father Jackal close with Gnasher and attack. Fortunately the pillar prevents them from slipping into a flank.

Abomination DC 15 save vs. sleep: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
grapple: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39
The many armed monster maneuvers Malgrim inside it's gelatinous body and begins to consume him using the swallow whole ability and Malgrim takes 8 points of acid damage.

It seems this takes a standard action so no bites or tentacle attacks! The doom gaze is a free action so everyone within 30' except Malgrim has to deal with that.

Double check that, gnasher regular size and asleep is out of range, but was enlarged awake gnasher?

If the positions as they are on the map now were how they were when the SU ability was done, then we are good! I see what you mean. When you shrunk yourself you shrunk into the furthest corner which would have put you out of range. Glad to see you alive and kicking. Will get a combat post up later tonight when I have time.

Malgrim is unable to claw his way out of the abomination, but there is success elsewhere on the field. Seif tries his tiried and trusty spell to try to blind and harm, and it is partially effective. Father Jackel is able to throw off the blinding effects but still takes some damage. The lion sleeps right though it unharmed.

DC 17 reflex save vs. Burst of Radiance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Shadow paws at the thing and does a fair bit o fdamage. Nonlethal, but damage nonetheless. (42 damage) I assume she is still wearing that merciful amulet?

Gnasher is about to collapse when the misfortune proves itself to be aptly named (if you are Father Jackal) and Gnasher shakes himself awake and attacks viciously until Father Jackal goes down! (56 damage) He even heals a bit.

As the fatigue sets in, he uses the wand of infernal healing to restore some of his strength. As the wand does it's work Gnasher moves around the 'temple' looking for anything interesting

Besides some gems that decorate the statue as eyes, there is Father Jackals magical bag, a +1 breastplate, +1 battle axe, and magical gauntlets. You find the lair (B20) of the Emkrah (what the tentacular thing is called) but nothing else.

Well, we still have that side room to explore...?

Moving slowly intentionally to regain his strength, Gnasher removes the eyes from the statue and inspects the items they'd found. Carefully storing the magical items in or on his pack, he opens Father Jackal's magical bag he looks inside. Moving through the Emkrah's lair he exits the door near where the scholar was hiding. Finding himself back in the chapel's foyer, he gestures towards the eastern door, "Tribe search for more wealth?"

Not waiting for a response, he inspects the door. If he believes it to be clear he will attempt to open it.

Psst... Malgrim, Gnasher did a big CdG to it ;-) Failing that, Seif-al-Din will turn off the amulet on Shadow, and let them rip it to shreds.

Never mind. I forgot that the reason it had Non-lethal was the amulet. Carry on.

Yes, indeed, both of the opponents are a bit messy right now and would require some hefty magic to revive. As for the room next door, it is a bit of a mess serving as a latrine as well as a lair. You search of that area proves messy (assuming you are thorough) and not at all fruitful. While the search goes on Rayhan emerges from his hidey hole and joins the group, a bit beat up but still kicking.

Gnasher decides it is time to move on and heads towards the next unexplored door. The rest of you join him, though Rayhan hangs back, looking a bit nervous. "You sure we can't return to the villa for a break. I'm afraid I am not suitable for this adventuring stuff. And, besides, I feel like crap."

Pausing at the door, Gnasher looks back over his shoulder at Rayhan, asking, "Scholar know reason tribe not finish looking? Tribe not expect scholar to fight." He looks towards Malgrim then Seif asking "Keep going or go back?"

Not hearing any objections from the other two members of the tribe, Gnasher shrugs at Rayhan. Shifting the bardiche to one paw, he attempts to open the door.

He opens the door just to find another short hallway, so. of course, he marches down and opens the next door. This room seems to be a study or lounge of some sort. The floor is covered with thick, red carpeting, and the walls hang with deep purple curtains. Strangely smokeless braziers flicker in the corners of the room, radiating a pleasant warmth. Two long benches sit against two walls, while in the opposite corner stands a small round table and a large chair occupied by a strangely still humanoid who's form is mostly hidden inside a voluminous and luxurious yellow robe.

As the PCs enter the room the creatures eyes open to regard them with a strange and unsettling stare. When he speaks, his voice is strangely deep. “And so you are the ones to have vexed my puppet so. Have you come to deliver the Scroll of Kakishon to him? What do you imagine the jackal would do if he were to learn that what I truly wanted was his humiliation and defeat—that I gave to him two impossible tasks so that when I returned he would be ruined with the shame? You fleshy fools are so much more useful to me when your own minds break your spirits before I tend to more… visceral pursuits.”

"I have a deal for you, should you care to listen."

"Yeah, you don't seem to be someone I want to deal with." Malgrim says with a shake of his head.

Malgrim is down quite a bit. While we were searching he would have used a wand on himself if possible, or asked Seif to spend two charges on him.

Should we resolve that before we start combat?

Just some filler
Seeing the 'humanoid' hidden in the voluminous and luxurious yellow robes, Gnasher moves into the room, hoping to get close enough that when he rages he will catch the creature unawares. Then, remembering that mute girl had sent the swarm, he wonders which way she'd fled to. She was aware of his and Malgrim's abilities, but not Seif's, nor had she met Shadow yet. Trying to string the speaker along, Gnasher, shrugs, wondering if this fellow was the evil jinn from the desert. "Be not so hasty Ghost." He looks towards Seif asking, "What say Catman? Hear offer?"

Seif-al-Din shrugs.

"At the very least, I can be cordial enough to hear you out. Being an ally of that Jackal, however, is hardly a point in your favour."

Not knowing that you have already dealt with Father Jackel, he proposes, "Father Jackel has a creature bound to him. I have here," the creature produces a small vial of red liquid and holds it out for the PCs to take, "a vial of dreams. If you feed the contents of the vial to the hatchling of the Rough Seed, it will turn on him and consume him. If you do not, then he will summon the creature and you will have to deal with both of them at the same time. In return, I ask nothing, for you will be doing my master's will."

"What is the Rough Seed?" Malgrim asks as he considers just attacking depending on the answer.

The captain indirectly answers Malgrim by saying, "Rovagug is known as the Rough Beast."

Shaking his head, Gnasher asks, "You are here in our enemies hideout, you have offered us nothing. Why should we treat with you instead of killing you and moving on our way?"

Surprised the conversation has lasted as long as it has, Gnasher looks to Malgrim, as he steps closer to the yellow garbed talker.

Hey Miteke, can you put the image on the map, I'm just positioning Gnasher to attack. Trying to decide if I want to burn the last four round up now or later.

Seif-al-Din winces at Malgrim's remark.

"Well, I was trying to *not* mention that, but yes, as it happens, one of them has been eviscerated, and the other rendered into goo, so it would be difficult for us to acquiesce to that particular request."

"Well, well. You have suitably impressed me. I must verify."

Unless one of you stop him he will march right on over and examine the bodies.

His eyes widening as the cloaked humanoid starts to move past him, Gnasher Bristles, "You have no manners." Enraged he begins to enlarge his paws grow into overly large claws, his eyes glow red, his fangs enlarge and he begins to froth at the mouth. While his brown hide takes on a red-orange cast to it, giving a peculiar laugh. Dropping the bardiche he attacks the cloaked humanoid with tooth and claw.
