Shadow doesn't have a swim speed, so I don't see a reason to make them potentially drown.

OK, got it, so unless it comes up on land, Shadow will stick to the shadows.

Once again the critter manages to close all of its eyes to the flashings and remain unblinded. It still hurt though. And the turbulent water missiles hurt even more. In fact it seems to be sinking slowly into the depths.

Combat over.

Aside from the embarrassment for a certain unnamed gnoll, you guys got through this without a a scratch. The gnoll even regained another 3 HP leaving him at -6.

The weakness from the rays wears off in a couple of minutes.

Not a great week keeping track of stuff, I think Gnasher was down 10 hp when he started the fight, so down 16 at the end of it, will use the wand and should be down 6Hp. Miteke, if you have different numbers let me know what they are and we'll go with them.

Stunned and slightly embarrassed Gnasher release his rage. For a second considering diving into the water and eviscerating the eye-crab, he reminds himself he really doesn't care for water that much. Instead he pulls out his wand and casts 'infernal healing.'

As the fatigue wears off he nods towards the door on the other side of the bridge. "Tribe continue on?" Again cautiously moving across the bride he listens at the door and inspects it for traps before he attempts to open it.

Taking 10(16) on Acrobatics and 10(21) on perception listening at the door and checking it for traps.

Gnasher heals up the rest of his wounds and carefully navigates the slippery bridge until he reaches the other side. This time the passage is uneventful.

Malgrim also passes over the bridge without incident. It is slippery, but, heck, Malgrim treats it more like a skating rink and slides along with grace.

You have all made it to the other side safely. Hearing nothing a the door you open it (with some effort as it is another door with arcane lock, but Malgrim has proven it will eventually yield to him) and find another corridor greeting you. Silently watching Malgrim pick the lock, Gnasher waits for his friend to indicate he's finished. As Malgrim steps away from the door, Gnasher nods to him and then Seif. Bardiche in one paw, he uses the other to fling the door open, quickly gripping the weapon in both paws and stepping inside.

This room is empty, save for three metal grates set in the floor, each locked with a thick iron chain and manacle. The odor emanating from the pits is horrid. A groan comes from beneath the far grate when you open the door. You hurry over to investigate and find Rayhan huddled shivering at the bottom of a 4' deep pit caked with filth, lying in a couple inches of seawater. Rayhan is in sorry shape, hands bound to his feet and gagged. The locks on the grate are on par with the one on the door and Malgrim is able to pick the lock.

(AC 26/17/20; HP 113/113; Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +11; Init +9, Perception +0, CMD 16) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 12

Once Rayhan has been extracted, Seif-al-Din immediately gives him a magical once-over.

Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Ability damage restored, and eliminating Fatigue, or reducing Exhaustion to Fatigue.

Infernal Healing: 10 damage healed.

"Do you wish us to escort you to the surface now, or wait until we have... dealt... with 'Father Jackal'...?"

Indeed, Rayhan was barely able to stand on his own, having been starved and frozen for so long. The magical energy suffuses him. the spell helps, but it will take more than that to combat hypothermia. Though he is able to walk, his thoughts are sluggish and his body still wracked with shivers.

As a bit of offal mixed with seawater and algae drops down his chin, he swistfully remarks in a slurred voice, "A hot bath and down matress sound really nice right now. Did you get that bastard Jackel and his lacky?" The normally polite scholar seems a bit put out by the whole experience.

DC 10 heal check:
You figure an endure elements spell, another lesser restoration, and some cure spells will make him functional. Well, that, or the more mundane hot bath and plenty of rest.

Seif-al-Din pumps some more magical energy into Rayhan.

He then smiles, not showing a shred of warmth.

"Not yet, but we are working on it. Rest assured, we will be collecting... interest... from them."

Standing quietly Gnasher watched as Seif aided scholar. It was nice to have a member of the tribe that was able to deal with the humans, both magically and socially. Though raised with humans he never felt comfortable dealing with them. When Rayhan asked if they'd 'gotten the Bastards' Gnasher gives a wolfish grin. Now that was something he felt comfortable doing. Nodding in agreement with Seif, he adds, "Seif right, tribe will."

Once they are ready, Gnasher, bardiche in hand, moves to the door at the end of the hall. Taking a moment he listens at the door then checks it for traps. Once he's comfortably that it's clear he opens the door.

I am pretty sure I can draw a line from my SE corner to the SE corner of the one in the SW corner of the room. If you do not think I can, I will walk in and blast without Empowering. If I can see it, I gather power, Empower and fire with cover.

Yo hear nothing, find another short corridor ahead of you and move up to the next pair of doors. Again hearing nothing you open them into an enormous room. The ceiling of this room rises thirty feet, and is supported by a dozen stone pillars. The chamber is empty, save for an immense stone dais to the east upon which stands a huge and horrifying statue carved of black stone. The statue resembles a spider and a scorpion, but is neither—it is something unaccountably more horrifying to look upon. Two dozen sparkling pearl eyes glare out of the monstrous statue’s face. You immediately recognize this as a statue of Rovagug and, evidently, this is a temple to the evil god. In front of the statue is a Jackal humanoid resembling the statues in the previous room.

As you enter the room, the being turns to you and grins wolfishly showing plenty of teeth. Could be a smile, but probably not.

Hearing the Jackel's honeyed words Gnasher considered everytime someone had inquired about the 'map.' The tribe had told them the scroll was not for sale, but everyone insisted. This fool had gone so far as to kidnap their scholar and threaten to kill him. Having little patience for folks who threaten him or the tribe, Gnasher probably would not have considered treating with this Jackel but seeing the statue of Rovagug sealed the deal.

Calling out to the Jackel, "Gnasher think not." charging into the room he begins to rage. As he enlarges His paws grow into overly large claws, his eyes glow red, his fangs enlarge and he begins to froth at the mouth. Damage, B, Water Blast w/Elemental Overflow , PBS: 3d6 + 10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3, 5) + 10 + 4 + 1 = 27

So I have a 24 to hit the blob creature. If that hits I do 40 Magical Bludgeoning damage to whatever that thing is.

What a waste of some really nice will saves!

AoO on Gnasher: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
As Gnasher rushes past the abomination, it's head lashes out and tries to snag him in its plentiful teeth, but, alas, it misses.

Ignoring the many armed creature, Gnasher tries to put the hurt on Father Jackal instead, but finds himself fighting off sleep as it meets the mesmerizing eyes of the Jackalwere.

Malgrim makes up for it by roughing up the creature himself with a vicious blast of watery hurt.

Bold may go.

Need DC 15 will save from Gnasher or he falls asleep, drops prone, and drops his weapon as soon as he gets within 30' of Father Jackal. Note: if he does, that would definitely break the rage. Quite different from being paralyzed.

Father Jackal (-0 HP, -36 if Gnasher makes his will save)

Seif (-0 HP, DC 20 Will save or take 1 damage)
Shadow (-0 HP, DC 20 Will save or take 1 damage)

Aberation (-40 HP)

Rayhan (-0 HP, casting spell)
Malgrim Gryh (-4 HP)
Gnasher (-7 HP)

what reach does the aberration have? I was hoping just 10 ft, but it may be 15.
Will DC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Ignoring the aberration and the jackal's magics, Gnasher gives a wicked grin as he feels his blade bite deep.

Edit: hmmm, The Aberration feels closer to the door

You do not know. You would need a sucessful knowledge roll to find out. You do know it has at least a 10' reach.

Well, dang. I forgot it did not move that far and adjusted it. It should be back 10' since it stopped and used its gaze attack. I put the displacing (meant figuratively) beast back where it belongs. So it did NOT get an AoO on you and you learned it had reach in a vision.

1d100 ⇒ 34
Father Jackal moves in to attack and gets cut up again for his troubles. Before he does so he reaches into a bag and pulls out a fuzzy ball and tosses it near Gnasher where it turns into a Lion and pounces. After performing his magic trick he moves up next to Gnasher.

to hit bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
to hit claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
to hit claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Nothing connects though, and Father Jackal is annoyed.

Lion (-0 HP)

The sleep thing is a gaze attack. Now that you know it has one, there are certain things you can do to mitigate the risk, as explained in the link above.

(AC 26/17/20; HP 113/113; Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +11; Init +9, Perception +0, CMD 16) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 12

Seif-al-Din: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17.
Seif-al-Din: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11.

Shadow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23.
Shadow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8.

Seif-al-Din and Shadow weather the mind-shock from the aberration, and then immediately fall asleep when they near Father Jackal.

Oh dear. Seif enters the room and collapses, Shadow enters right after, ready to protect her companion and joins her friend in a cuddle pile, protecting Seif by curling right around him (Seif is under the icon for Shadow on the map). Anyone else care to join them? Shadow makes a nice furry bed!

The gelatinous globule with tentacles engages Malgrim, unhappy with the hurtful way he treated it. One of its tentacles lashes out and grabs painfully onto Malgrim!

doom gaze: 1d6 ⇒ 2
to hit tentacle: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
crit?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
grab: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

Rayhan finishes his spell and summons an air elemental and gestures for it to wake up something and points at the cuddle pile. Shadow gets a thwack and wakes up! Rayhan then starts another spell.

Rayhan will vs. doom gaze: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Elemental will vs. doom gaze: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Watching the fluff ball land beside him, Gnasher avoids the Jackal's attacks. Glaring at the Jackal, he growls, "You should have ran." Realizing the 'fluff ball' was turning into a lion, Gnasher drops his bardiche and steps beside he jackal and attacks him with tooth and claw.

hmmm, maybe two out of three

Indeed, two of those shots land. That is quite a dip in AC - from 26 to 19 when you rage. I have a feeling you are going to feel it this round.
